The ONLY reason why I shop at this location is because it's the closest location to my house. It seems like most of the employee's here are very rude and unprofessional. So I got here at 8:55 pm on a sunday because I had to get some ibuprofen for my wife wasn't feeling well. They had already locked the doors when they close at 9. As the manager let a customer out I mention to him that I guess my clock must be broken because I have 8:55 and you guys close at 9 and he said I guess so. Even after I said I just wanted to get some ibuprofen real quick for my wife it still didn't seem to bother him and he just said he has to get his cashier out of here. But it's kind of funny he was outside doing something or smoking but when he see me pull up in my red truck he made sure he locked the door before I got to the door. I had a choice in my time to either go to Dollar Tree or Big Lots and I chose Big Lots and now I can't go to either one because it's past 9. I know it's my fault and I should have probably tried to get here earlier but according to Time Wise I still had time to just get in and grab what I needed but apparently this store does not value customer service so I will be shopping elsewhere from now on. Considering that the Big Lots company has dwindled, I think I have to review to let people know that not all BL's have closed. You can still seing by and get a deal for sure, trouble is sometimes you have to travel outside of your neighborhood to find one. By the stroke of luck I decided to search for one and I found it, not near my home but I found it! The items you didn here of course are items you can find in other places. But the prices are way lower and you can still find items you don't find in others spots. This location is still up on furniture also, although I find this furniture not to my liking and really not top quality, but of you can furnish your apartment or house with tasteful pieces and not have to worry about spending your whole check. Rude a** cashier! I am so sick of rude customer service. Pick another job if you come to work with an attitude all the time. Literally said I had an expired charity coupon , but sometimes they still work. Cashier refuses to scan it cause it was expired and starts giving major attitude about it. Giiirl didn't I just say that "usually" work when scanned. If it did work, did you lose $5???? Put the same effort into finding another job if you so hung up on scanning an expired coupon!! I am at the point that I rarely come here. Big lots knows this too, that is why they keeping sending me "we miss you" coupons to come back. Am being told that someone called me which did not happen. I have only 1 voicemail from Tuesday the 28th and that was from my doctor. I have not received a vm or an email from anyone with Big Lots and definitely no one by the name of Joseph Burns. I also checked my call logs and there are no calls other than the one I mentioned above. This is honestly the worst back and forth most frustrating customer service experience. All I would like is to understand the process as to why still to this day when I go online it says the fireplace is available to be purchased and picked up, yet I was told they are being reserved/held/saved. What a random selection of things. It's kind of like a Walmart but cheaper. I really shouldn't say cheaper, lets just say inexpensive because really, it's the same quality as Walmart and there is a BIG difference between inexpensive and cheap. There is lots and lots of home decor, all you need is a little imagination. They have furniture, a small grocery section and even clothes. If anything, I'd walk around and see what's hiding waiting to be found. You might be surprised. read more

1 star for disorganized and bad service. So they supposedly bought a drug store and there were deals. I came across the school supplies, cosmetic section, and the area wreaked of nail polish. Why? No, the customers weren't SAMPLING to purchase, they were doing their nails. Yuck. It's fine if you sample, but if you're going to paint all 10 of your nails, I wouldn't want to buy your nail polish. They eventually left without purchasing the polish. Cheapskates. Teenagers are disgusting... and I was one only 5 years ago. They also overcharged me for the pens I got. How is that possible? Well, they had like 3 barcodes for the sale, and the employee happened to have scanned anything but the right barcode. I came back, had to wait for the manager, had to wait for the cash register to be free. No apology was ever offered and I was sure NOT to thank the person for wasting my time. The manager did say "Have a good one". I had an awesome shopping at this location in October. I apologize for taking so long to make my review public. I came in looking to outfit a new apartment. After visiting several large retailers, I came into Big Lots to do some pricing comparisons. My experience dealing with Casey (Supervisor in Furniture) was so positive, I ended my hunt on the spot. He was patient and knowledgeable, and took the time to go over all stock available in my budget range (without aggressively up-selling), answer questions (I had a lot of them), and inform me about a surprisingly affordable delivery option through a third party (Dolly). A real professional. He's the biggest reason I'll be back in the near future to make a couple additional purchases. Alex, too. Really, the entire staff at this location is exceptional. I placed an order for a recliner + a queen bed set. Both purchases have proved to be quality in their construction and comfort. I feel I got exactly what I was looking for, at a heck of a price. Strong recommendation for Dolly, as well. They have a partnership with Big Lots, for discounted rates. For those of us without a vehicle big enough to move furniture, I'd suggest you let Dolly help out. They offered same-day delivery, vs. the option available at another retailer (they quoted 3-5 business days). read more

I used to go to a BL outside Atlanta....and they were a joke. Old stinky over age stuff. It was fun just to see the crap that they had in the store. Was I surprised to see how far Big Lots! come. New logo...note the different size fonts on the signage and the EXCLAMATION !!!! point. I picked up some individual Clif bars for 40 cents each!! In bulk they are 80 cents at Costco. $2+ at a convenience store. Old Spice aftershave! Shaving cream. Microwave noodles (think cup of soup stuff). Wifey got a soap dispenser. A fun place to look around. You will enjoy. read more

What a hidden shopping oasis. It may seem strange, but the food selection here is both intriguing and affordable. Last time I was there, I got Wasa crackers, tikka masala simmer sauce, dark chocolate espresso ice cream topping, canned organic chickpeas and peppermint coffee creamer. There's also a great selection of affordable beauty products and seasonal items as well. The service here is rather dismal, however, and you can't really go in to look for a specific item. It's a lot like a thrift shop in that you have to dig through bins and cull cluttered displays to see what bargains may lie beneath. read more

Anyone that knows me, knows I have a cheap side...excuse me, a frugal/economically conscious side. Some things are definitely worth going for and then you'll see things that you really should bypass. Cereal, pasta and sauce, deodorant, snacks, cleaning supplies are the same name brands you'll find in a major grocery store, except half the price. I had my first experience at Big Lots. It seems like a CostCo without the bulk. Good deals, especially for kids toys. Yes, kids toys. Why pay more for a toy that will be used for less than a week at a big retailer, when you can come here and pay much less for the same toy. They also have a variety of things at this particular store including furniture. Definitely worth checking out for one hit items. read more

I was just in Big Lots for the first time last night, Though I didn't buy anything, I did walk around. Prices are actually very good on just about everything, including name brands. Cans of Wolf Chili are about $1.33. Good luck finding that price at Jewel. Electronics - 50-pack Philips CD-R for $10. Hell yeah. They have a very small grocery section, as well as small electronics, housewares, and toys sections. For such a big store, the selection does seem a bit limited, but it's definitely worth coming in and taking a look around. If nothing else, at this location, you're within 2 miles of dozens of different stores if you can't find something you like, but hopefully you can. It's well worth a look. read more

Yesterday bought a kitchen island from there. The young man in furniture was so helpful. This was one of those puzzles to put together. When we were almost finished we noticed that one of the tracks on the drawer was smashed and therefore didn't work. Took the track in and he went and got a new track from one of the other boxes for me. Even gave me the screws. Now I have a beautiful kitchen island and they were so kind. Will go there a million times. Have always had good prices. That island would have cost me twice as it had granite counter top. My first granite. Doesn't even deserve one star. This place is a big scam from store level to corporate. I was assured my things would be ready for pu as soon as I arrived. Mind you a rented a van and everyone kept walking past us didn't even acknowledge us acted like they couldn't hear us when we asked for someone 2 hours later finally got our mattress and sectional however they tried to send us home with only half of the sectional they didn't know it came in two pieces. YOU SHOULD KNOW YOUR PRODUCTS!! I even knew we were missing the other half. Got it home took the plastic off and there are RIPS AND TEARS and the fuzz is coming out. Called the store they said to call corporate and I called corporate and shocker ABSOLUTELY NO HELP. I want money back on it or they have to arrange to swap out the products because I have wasted enough time and enough money. I have yet to hear back from anyone nobody wants to do anything about it.
