I really wanted to love this place. A very popular tick-tocker recommended this restaurant and I respect his reviews. I think that they where having an off day.
We went to brunch here on Sunday November 20th around 10am. When we arrived I could tell that there was a wait because we seen lots of people in their cars. At first I thought that it might be closed or that they where waiting on it to open up but no, they where just waiting for a table . We walk into the restaurant and up to the hostess stand. The young man was busy on the phone ( probably calling people to tell them their table was ready) so we waited for him to finish. Once he got off of the phone he just stared at us. My husband says "oh, are you ready?" and he just spreads his hands like Vanna White as to imply "go ahead" lol. We had no idea he was done with what he was doing and he didn't great us so we didn't know what to say lol. I said to him "we would like a table" and he said "ok there's a wait........." I was like, "ok how long is the wait?" He says "idk any where between 15 to 40 minutes " . I just giggled because what a wired time line lol. We quickly understood why. There cleaning crew or table busboy had quit that day without notice and left them under staffed. While we could see empty tables no one was getting a seat in a timely manner because they couldn't get the tables cleaned. There wasn't any seating for customers who where waiting and everybody was waiting and just standing in the way of the servers and the door traffic. At one point an employee asked us to move to make it easier for the servers to get though and we then where basically in the way of the door traffic. I fault horrible and in the way so we just went to the car to wait. Once we got the call that a table was ready we went back in and the hostess ( same young man from early) took us to a table that hadn't been cleaned. I asked if someone would be around to clean the table and he said that their help had quit. I politely informed him that I didn't wait 60 minutes for a dirty table ( because they could've sit me 30 minutes ago at a dirty table). So he took us to another that had been wiped down but had no condiments ( out of sugar and out of salt). I didn't complain because I don't need either of those things to be honest lol. Our waitress come over and she seemed overwhelmed. She didn't great us or share her name, she just took our drink orders. I could tell that she was overwhelmed, so to make things easier for her we gave her our food order as well so that she wouldn't have to make a trip back. I got a mimosa flight. It came with blood orange, regular tang orange, beet, and strawberry lemonade juice and a small bottle of Champagne. Two of the glasses had dried food on the inside and I informed the waitress. She removed the glasses and brought me new glasses and juice. We waited an additional 40 minutes for our food. I got the 3 bears biscuits and gravy. I don't eat pork so whenever there's an opportunity to get biscuits and gravy made with other ingredient options other then pork I take it. The biscuits and gravy consist of sawmill, chicken and mushrooms gravy. The size of the biscuit was insane . They are light and fluffy and delicious. I could've just had warm biscuits and apple butter and been just as happy. The serving size of the food was huge. I couldn't eat it all and ended up taking food home that I had for lunch later that day. You can tell that they where struggling on this day, being sort on staff is had on the people who come in. Not only are they doing their job but also the job of the others who didn't . I think that this place has the potential to be a great local spot. It's clearly very popular. I hope to go back and have a better experience. read more
