Inside

The place is located in a busy area; the staff is friendly. The place inside is tiny and smells like fresh pastry that people cook at the back, which is very tempting. I cannot speak for the pastry, but coffee is horrible. Even with added milk, I feel over-burned beans. The prices here are not budget-friendly, and for a small cup of cappuccino with an extra espresso, I paid 7$. I would not be so upset if it would be smooth, but I threw it away. I am not coming back.

Chocolate Almond Croissant

I'm always on the hunt for good bakeries, particularly ones that can perfect the art of baking a croissant. I read mixed reviews about this place but decided to take the plunge and check it out. It's a small bakery and once you enter, you are smelling the glorious smell of baked goods. The selection is unique, with both savory and sweet options. They were out of the almond croissant option so I went for chocolate almond instead and I definitely was not disappointed. The croissant was perfectly flaky, just the right level of sweetness, and buttery without being overwhelming! Definitely a win for me. Can't comment on the other items on the menu but a good croissant is a reason for me to be back.

Well haven't been here in a while since quarantine, but finally had to opportunity to get my fix. Best croissants hands down. It's curb side pick up, you'd have to order online. There's no line of people to pick up, I was there two days in a row, it was just basically grab and go!

Delicious chocolate almond croissants! Would love to try the other pastries and cookies.

Cleanliness not withstanding, the bread, regardless of recipe, is always over baked to a color darker than a cardboard box in the rain.

The almond croissants are always burnt and don't taste like almond. I know they are trying but their croissant style misses the mark.

Great tea selection, great pastries (namely the goat cheese & artichoke croissant), great bread. But also pretty overpriced.

I have been back many times since my initial review and the issues have been corrected. I have not had a bad experience at Bien Cuit since.

Sure it's expensive. But for the best pastries and breads I've had outside Paris or Tartine in San Francisco, it's worth every penny.

best croissant in the neighborhood BY FAR. service sometimes feels off but a nice place to sit, especially their secret back garden.

Good bread and very good (if not exceptional) croissants but really overpriced-there are equally good and more reasonable alternatives.

Is the patio open for outdoor dining? if so, are there heat lamps?

Is everything made with sourdough?

We have a wide range of sourdough-based breads, but not everything is made with sourdough. Some of our breads and pastries are made without sourdough starter.

We finally made it for brunch and we weren't disappointed…read more The atmosphere is friendly and reminds me of a modern day diner and all the pastries in the window by the counter makes it feel even more special. My wife had egg white and spinach omlette and I had an egg salad sandwich with tomato on brioche bread with side of macaroni salad, The portions and price were reasonable and we will be sure to come back and try their famous pancakes !

I had an amazing experience at Cousin John's Café & Bakery in Brooklyn. We ordered the pancetta…read moreeggs Benedict, and it was outstanding. the pancetta was perfectly cooked and wonderfully savory. We also tried the fresh squeezed orange juice, which was refreshing, and the ideal compliment to the meal. The service was surprisingly impressive. The staff was attentive and kind, bringing water right away and offering complimentary chocolate raisin bread with cranberry jam (available only on Sat/Sun 9am-3pm), which was such a thoughtful and delicious fall touch. The bakery section is incredible. They offer everything from cakes and tarts to cannolis made to order, crème brûlée, crumb cake, mini key lime pies, lobster-tail pastries and everything looked absolutely amazing and high quality. All in all, Cousin John's delivers excellent food, exceptional service, and an impressive bakery selection. Highly recommended I'll definitely be back!
