This review is long overdue. I would like to commend Bicycle Warehouse as a company, their employees, their managers (specifically Jeff and Ulysses), and the owners Mike and Debbie. I was lucky enough to work for them many years ago in between deployments at the San Marcos store. I learned that the passion that the cycling community exudes...is completely emulated in them, so much that, not as much for sales purposes, but their personal goal is for everyone to have multiple styles of bikes - because of the fact that their differences help make any rider better balanced. Fast forward to COVID. As the gyms closed and my bodybuilding shows got cancelled in CA, I took up road cycling around May 2020 - and loved it. I purchased a 2021 Giant TCR 2 that I absolutely fell in love with. Jeff, the newest manager at the Temecula store was beyond 100%. From how he made sure that the TCR was the bike that I wanted and needed, to the staff, notably, Daniel, who was such a great representative of all things positive. I crashed the bike in November 2020 during the major COVID induced bike shortage, and used the Giant warranty since the carbon frame was irreparable. Admittedly, I turned into one of those frustrated customers since it was about February and I still had not received the replacement. My negative emails and calls were always responded to with care, "customer firstness", and sincerity. I remember stating that I believed they suffered from "logistical failures", but in reality, it was not them at all, it was the COVID measures that prevented anything cycle related from going forward. So finally, I apologize for my little faith, and I extremely commend all of you guys for all of your hard work and attitudes. Came to this shop after purchasing a secondhand bike off Facebook. I didn't have the bike with me the first day and after looking around the shop and talking with the workers about helmets and shoes, Ryan offered to have me bring in the bike for a free inspection and teach me some things. Came back a couple days later and he went through the bike and gave me some pointers on some upcoming maintenance, some different accessories for new riders, and even showed me some maps on the computer for local trails to warm up with. He even lent me a helmet to get me out on the dirt that same day! I was able to put in 10 miles on Santa Rosa Plateau and had a great time. Their team was amazing. I brought a recumbent hand petal bike that they do not have or sell. Met with one of their tech guys and explained what I wanted to have done. He recommended one of their tune ups which seemed costly. For what I wanted it would have been more and I would have had less done. Got a call from the tech shop with an update and recommendations. He asked first how I would use it, where I would use it, how often it would be used. He then explained I have a need to fix a few things but with how I was going o use it no need to get it all done. It could be a year before I needed the suggestions. If I used it differently he would suggest a few more repairs. We also bought a bike for my wife a few months before my bike. They asked about how it worked for her. If we needed any adjustments and reminded us about the free service they offer after the 90 days as well as offering to calls us before the time was up for the service. These guys are great and always have been. The y have a very safe covid protocol, and they also actually have bikes. We bought my wife's new bike there (by new I mean 4 years ago. She was so impressed with the customer service of these guys and how great her bike is for her, that she took our daughter there for her birthday present this year (she is a 26 year old ER nurse and needs to exercise the stress out). I was looking for an affordable bicycle with hydraulic disc brakes and tubeless tires. I was shown the Giant Contend SL 1. When I test rode the bike I was not impressed with the braking and the overall fit. After being assured by Brian Cannon that the brakes were new and needed a break-in period. He and the staff offered to break-in the brakes for me. I said no thank you and that I would do it myself. I rode the bike for a better part of fifteen minutes. Afterwards, I asked to raised the saddle and adjust the stem along with the handle bar height. Remember that I have not agree nor paid for the bike at this point but nonetheless Brian continued to make the adjustment without pressuring me to purchase the bike. All the adjustment were made to the overall fit of the bike and I purchased the bike because at this point the bike was of my liking. It was a great buying experience and I am happy with the Giant Contend SL 1. read more

Three weeks after purchasing a bicycle the seat broke. When we brought the bike in we were told that the seat is a "trim item meant to be replaced". I questioned having to replace the seat less than a month after purchase. Was told that items wear out differently based on rider weight. Rider is 6'2" 215 athletically built. Rider was also present at time of purchase and I would have appreciated someone telling me that the stock seat would put my child in danger. I would have bought a different seat. When the seat broke mid ride he went off the trail bending the hoop and breaking the kickstand. This is THE spot to hit up if you're looking for Giant gear in the Temecula area. They had an entire armada of Giant/Liv road, mountain, cyclocross, and kids bikes in stock. And unlike most Giant-affiliated bike shops, they actually had a decent amount of Giant accessories and apparel available. On top of that, they had a very healthy selection of other brands of apparel as well. Far cry from what I usually see at bike shops. I also appreciated the friendly no-pressure sales people there too. Yes, they stock other brands there too. I brought my mountain bike in for a service on Monday and was immediately assisted by Ryan. I left the bike for him to do his inspection which he quickly called me back with recommendations. Got the LBS feel here w/ the staff, but the corporate shop feel with the space. Went in just to look around, and get to know some more of the local shops. Nicole approached us quickly, was super nice, and even took the time to google earth some trails near our house for us. made us a make shift map on the back of her business card, and let us know about some options to connect w/ local riding groups. I was ready to buy a green Santa Cruz bronson off the floor, but the build was low end SCRAM, so I inquired about just the frame/fork. I have a feeling that because it's 1 of 6 stores, that their policies prevent the individual shops from breaking down bikes that shipped complete...Not something I can blame that location for. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and their selection of Giant was fairly impressive ranging from the $200 kids bike, to the decently spec'd Glory, with everything in between. They offer a free 50 point inspection on any bike you bring in, something most service departments should do. Ended up buying a jersey, and would probably shop here for small parts/tires/tubes etc. read more

Just picked up my new Giant Beach Cruiser on Saturday. The drive from redondo was a little hike, but they were the only location in SoCal that had the exact model I wanted. When they called to tell me they didn't have the exact rims, I asked for a photo of the bike with the separate set. They texted over a shot and I liied what I saw. Ryan H was awesome! He took so much time to listen to what I was looking for/what my needs/budget were and showed me some really great options. He answered all of my questions and never made me feel rushed. Once I found the bike for me, Ryan took time to ride around the lot with me to make sure I knew how all the gears worked, made sure that the bike fit and was adjusted correctly, showed me how to use the quick release wheel and made sure it fit in my car. I will, and have, left scathing reviews of businesses that should be avoided at all cost - recently DCH Jeep of Temecula and Turner's Outdoorsman. With so much competition, it's just mind boggling how any business would treat any potential or repeat customer with anything but the utmost respect and courtesy. Ironically, right next door to Turner's is the place Turner's and DCH should send all their employees for customer service training. Bicycle Warehouse. Walk in and you are immediately greeted with, "Hi, my name is ( ), what's your name?" Really. Let me count the times I walked into a business and 1. The employees didn't greet, likely because they're were bored to death or simply inept. And 2. They didn't say, "Thank you." after I handed them my credit card or cash. I'm subsidizing your paycheck, and saying, "Have a nice day" instead does nothing for me. After the meet and greet there is no hand holding or annoying sales tactics. Just good, clean suggestions about a bicycle or bicycle equipment that best suits your needs. On the day I visited, my second in 3 years, Brandon and Brian helped me find a nice Giant Trance soft tail. Brian pulled it out off the rack, adjusted tire pressure, screwed on pedals, handed me a helmet, and directed me to the rear parking lot. "Try it out and let me know what you think." Very cool. Yup, I bought the bike, some pedals, and handle bar grips. Brandon talked me through some prerequisites, took my card, said "Thanks" and handed me a neat little blue tote with some sunblock, chapstick, a towel and a social network postcard. So I'm having a blast with the bicycle, but it's more enjoyable because I got the impression the staff was not trying for a hit-and-run sale. I remember going into this shop a few years ago and I was lucky to even get acknowledged. Also remember thinking their prices were ridiculous back when I was paying $300 for a bicycle. Well, all things change and for this particular location it was for the better. The sales staff is knowledgeable about the products they're selling and will take the time to explain geometries, components and anything else you need to know. I have bought several bikes from here. They actually know me and my family by name. They carry only a handful of manufacturers but have an extensive inventory of those brands. Everything from kids, MTB and competitive road racing. I will say that the maunfacturers they do carry are very good brands. Very ethically company to do business with. I came in on a Saturday, desperately needing my bike to be fixed (brake pads were running up against the wheel). I had called before asking if they could see me right away because I had to leave for college the next day. I called first and spoke to a guide name Evan. He was nice over the phone and said bring it on over. Normally like any bikeshop they usually have allotted times to do maintenance and coming in randomly will usually lead to waiting a day or two. I couldn't because I had to leave for school. Now I brought it in and thankfully Evan was still there. I told him that I was the guy he spoke to over the phone. He immediately began working on my bike and told me I could walk around the store and he would have it completed in 5-10 min.. I waited around 15 min. He calls me over and tells me a fee things. 1) My wheel was untrue and that's why it was hitting the brake pad. He fixed that to the best of his ability without having to have the rim sent out for repair. (I guess the rim was bent) 2) I was rocking the wrong value stem which wouldn't have allowed me to fill my back tire with air. He also fixed that. He called me over and told me the things above but first he apologized for the longer wait. Super nice guy. After everything, I asked him what was the damage. He tells me no charge and then tells me to study hard. This was a great experience not only for the short wait time but for the really good service. I would have said this even if he did charge me for the service. If you're in need for a bike, forget Walmart or Target. Yeah they might be cheaper but there quality is much less and their service is nonexistent. P.S. Ask for Evan if you go. He's such a nice guy and really helpful. I can't say enough about the people here. I went to another bike shop in Temecula TWO YEARS ago and they refused to do what I asked them to do. I needed my seat pole cut down a tiny bit to accommodate a beach cruiser seat. Even though I explained to the other shop that I don't ride my $500 bike because I can't touch the ground, they said that's how it's supposed to be and that's what is right for your knees. I explained that I am not a cyclist but would only be riding a couple miles at a time because I was trying to get fit. They refused. I told them I understand that my form would not be ideal but that I'd be cruising my neighborhood. Still refused. I was soooo discouraged and have not been on my bike since. I decided it was time to get back on so I called BW and they told me to bring it in. They actually cared when I explained and said if I wasn't comfortable, I wasn't going to ride. EXACTLY! They also fixed something with my brake/chain and were so wonderful about everything. Not pretentious and didn't try to up sell me.
