I am a returning rider and needed some new gear to get started. I came here and was immediately greeted by Sean/Shawn. He made me feel right at home and appreciated as a customer. When he left for the day, he made sure another associate took over in case I needed anything. It was Kenny. Kenny was just as great. I ended up buying a motorcycle jacket, back protector, and helmet. I just started riding and needed a helmet so I headed down to Cycle Gear, I was greeted by Dominic and Ben and set up with a new helmet and Pinlock installed by them and off I went, fast forward to my second trip to the store buying a new shield for the helmet and having Ryan install the Pinlock and me coming home thinking I could install the shield on the helmet...not so much! Love shopping here, had a Strada 2 which I had a warranty claim on due to pad buttons breaking and after 5 months I had another issue with my helmet, they discontinued the helmet(no more parts or helmets in productions), but gave me my full purchase of that helmet towards the new one and I'm very happy that I can rely on their warranty and service and not have to worry. I walked in looking for a few items in particular. Was greeted right away by a guy named Isaac. As I started looking at the bike stands he came over asking if I needed any help. Asked him a couple questions in regards to what products would be best suited for me. He gave some great advice as how those products differ from one another and we found all the things I needed. Came into this cycle gear, needing to have a rear tire, mounted and balanced on my wheel. When I arrived, the guy said that it would take 24 hours for them to do and that they had other tires to do. There was one customer in the store and the two employees just sat talked to one another. I've had cycle gear in the past mount and balance tires for me within an hour or two. This is just another example of for customer service that's declined since Covid . I will not be going to any cycle gear ever again and I wish I could give it zero stars terrible customer service. read more

I usually go to the Kearny Mesa location because they are one of the "flagship" sites and have more inventory on-hand, but every time I do stop into the Temecula site I always get the best customer service experience. They're like the Chik-Fil-A of motorcycle gear except unlike Chik-Fil-A they're open on Sundays. I stopped in earlier today to look at bluetooth kits and Marco (sp?) was extremely helpful. I ended up getting a Sena 10R and Marco installed it on my helmet for free. Normally I like doing installs myself because I'm super particular and somewhat of a perfectionist. Turns out Marco is as much of a perfectionist as I am. Lined up the Sena perfectly with the lines and contours of my Biltwell Lane Splitter, and even took the liberty of choosing the grey color Sena unit to perfectly match my helmet. While he was installing the Sena he was also doing his best to help other customers without making me stand around and wait. I appreciate that also because he's not one of those sales reps who makes a sale and then every other customer in the store gets ignored. The other times I've come in I have had just as good of an experience with the female sales rep (cant remember her name). To be quite honest, most of the inventory they stock are brands that I typically don't buy. But despite that I usually always end up walking out with something because they go above and beyond to find out what I need and recommend alternatives. Overall I really enjoy Cycle gear. It's fun to wander through. You have to watch the quality of Bilt brand products occasionally. Boots were a problem! Avoid bilt boots. Otherwise I've had great success with other products and their prices are competitive on most items. I've had great luck with my wheel chock (high quality). Ok experience with 2 Street helmets. I have to say that walking into Cycle Gear, I expected everything to be at-or-above MSRP, with salespeople pushing their in-house brand because it's "such a better deal." I was delighted to find that they had an abundance of sale and clearance prices, even on top brands like Dainese and Alpinestars. I scored some Dainese gloves for $40. Okay, sweet! What about selection? The store is not massive, so you can expect that they aren't going to have everything; however, they do offer a good range of products, and can special order anything. I know what you're thinking - why special order and pay tax when you can get free shipping from a variety of online retailers? Because the people are cool, that's why. Customer service is usually what truly makes a business worth giving your money to, and this place has it in spades. The gentleman who helped me was knowledgeable, honest, and helpful. I was stoked enough about the interaction that I chose to order a Dainese Airframe jacket through them rather than online. I paid tax and waited a couple days longer, but I liked the idea of being able to decide on the spot if I liked the fit. Rather than deal with return shipping, I had tried on another jacket in stock that I would take home if the SO didn't tickle my fancy. Buyer Beware!! Dropped off my 17 in rear wheel with new tire to have tube replaced on Thursday was told that technically their business was "primarily retail" (first clue) and that tire might be a 24 hour turn around. No problem. Picked up wheel on Saturday and installed. Rode for approximately 45 miles and all seemed well. Sunday ...hopped on the freeway and at 75 MPH the tube lets go!!! Thankfully made it too the side without laying it over and trailered it to the house. Returned back to Cycle Gear on Sunday with wheel and told Patrick the whole story. No apologies but said he would look into it and call. Later that day ...the call. Rim strip damage must have caused the tube to burst and am going to have to charge you full price to fix....Could not believe it. Did anyone call to let me know rim strip needed replacing? I'm sure I would have spent the extra 5 bucks to make sure my guts weren't splattered all over the 15 fwy!!! Don't risk it. Take your tires to Arny's or literally anywhere else and have the peace of mind that the job is done properly and if there is an issue it will be handled professionally. I went into cycle gear with my schuberth SRC communication system that I bought on offer up and did not know how to connect it to my sena 20s. Kriss was not familiar with the system so she went online and studied and figured out how to connect the two with a little help from Josh they were successful after about an hours worth of effort in helping me have the two systems communicate. Kriss and Josh were so helpful and friendly they made the whole experience lot of fun. I initially just wanted my money back and call it a day but I was much more happy with how my trip turned out. i walked out with a SHOEI helmet thanks to Kriss.
