I had EXCEPTIONAL customer service from SpokeX. The 1-star reviews here are unwarranted because they all make the same mistake: not checking shipping, and shipping policies in advance. All complaints in Yelp reviews are about shipping timing and/or delays, all of which is discussed on their SHIPPING POLICIES page. SpokeX is a small retailer and as nearly all retailers do, they offer goods that are not physically available immediately but can be ordered. Their Shipping Policies page (linked in the footer of their website) clearly discusses this, including timing of orders and when there might be delays. Their checkout system indicates estimated order time. THIS ALL IS TO PROPERLY SET YOUR EXPECTATION, and if you have any questions, CONTACT THEM IN ADVANCE to clarify it. That is what I did, and the Customer Service was EXCEPTIONAL. I wanted to order a specific jacket and wasn't sure on the timing. So I reached out to SpokeX. I had read the Yelp reviews, and also the Shipping Policies page. Within a few hours, I had a DETAILED and REALISTIC breakdown of how this particular item would be timed in shipping, more detailed than necessary but it just made me feel more confident about SpokeX as a shop. And gave me no hesitation about whether it was safe to place an order. It was far more responsive and thorough customer service than most any retailers I've experienced. (Thank you, Rylee!) I'm not a shill, I'm not a friend. I use Yelp but haven't posted a review in years. I'm a retail customer who thinks the 1-star reviews here are undeserved, *and* I can easily articulate why. Brick-and-mortar shops, particularly independent ones, have a hard enough time against the giants who squeeze them out with the high-volume-thin-margin tactic. This is one such company that cares and deserves your business. read more

You can believe all the bad reviews about this merchant. I have a similar story to all of them. I ordered a pair of north face hiking boots on September 7th and was told a couple weeks ago that it was getting shipped out soon and when they got back to me which was not unless I left several messages they told me it was "going out this week." Of course none of this was true and it was just at my request yesterday canceled. They have no customer service via telephone, no one will get back to you unless you heckled them the only positive thing was that I got my refund the same day. I will never be ordering from this terrible sad excuse for a company again in my life. I buy a lot of things online and this by far was the worst example I ever had. I even bought a winter coat from china that got here within a week and considering this was september 7th to September 28th with no product delivered, this was easily the most disastrous experience one could imagine. I personally don't care if someone tries to refute this because I have my experience that is extremely relatable to the other one star reviews stay away Buyer beware. Caveat emptor read more

I left a one star review because zero / negative stars wasn't an option. Believe all the one star reviews here. I placed an order for a pair of Patagonia waders during a Labor Day promotion. Within an hour of placing the order I realized I ordered the wrong style. This was on a Thursday evening. I began calling and emailing this company Friday morning in an attempt to cancel the order. There was no response until the FOLLOWING Thursday when I was informed they couldn't honor my request for an order cancellation as the sale went through a third party payment vendor (ShopPay). I explained this shouldn't be an issue as I wasn't out any money yet and they should be able to simply cancel the order and notify ShopPay. I've gone back and forth with this company for the past week and their excuses as to why this sale couldn't have been canceled are constantly changing. I made the expensive mistake of not checking Yelp reviews before attempting to do business with Spoke X and would encourage you not to make the same mistake. read more

I ordered a bike from SpokeX after calling and confirming delivery timing with their Sales Director because I had an upcoming trip and needed the bike before then. I was told delivery would take approximately two weeks, consistent with their stated policy. Instead, it took five weeks for SpokeX to receive the bike. During that time, I was repeatedly told it would arrive "in a few days," with delays attributed to the vendor. Because the bike did not arrive as promised, I had to rent a bike for my trip. Once SpokeX finally received the bike, I requested a refund. They agreed in writing to cancel the order and issue a refund in accordance with their refund policy. Despite agreeing to the refund, SpokeX then shipped the bike anyway, claiming it was sent by accident. I had to reject the delivery and was told they could not process the refund until the bike was returned to them. After they received the bike that should never have been shipped, the refund process finally began. As of today, it has been 71 days since I placed the order, 45 days since SpokeX agreed to issue a refund, and 21 days since they received the returned bike. I still do not have my money back. I opened a dispute with my credit card company after the bike was shipped despite the cancellation because the situation raised concerns about whether the refund would actually be processed. Based on my experience, I would not purchase from this merchant again. read more

This shop borders fraud. Do not trust estimated shipping times on Google. They won't ship your order for day if at all and there is not customer support, no callback. read more

Been 2 weeks, no tracking number, no responses to my email, IG messages, or phone calls... Maybe they're a legit company, but they are extremely neglectful as far as customer service goes. read more

Horrible Scam, Charge actually shows up as Walmart.com. Ordered Altra Torin,12 days ago. Rylee said they would ship by Tuesday, 7 days ago. Never did. Buy somewhere else , waste of time now i have to open a dispute and order somewhere else. read more

Watch out!!! This seller is deceptive. I ordered an item when it was in stock according to their webpage. First of all, the price I agreed to pay got changed on the order confirmation. It never got delivered on the anticipated delivery date. When I called, I was told it was out of stock. Cleary they sent a shipping notice on an out of stock item. I asked to cancel the order. The guy said it would be taken care of immediately. The refund showed on my card only briefly but it disappeared while the original charge still stood. I notified my bank and disputed the transaction. I think their business is pretty deceptive. If you do not follow up diligently, you will be charged for something you never receive. You could be fooled by their deceptive refund as well. I almost call this company a scammer. read more

Bait and switch . They gave me a price that was out the door. I went in to pay for the bike and they added 30% more to the total ..blamed it on tariffs. The place was a mess like high school kids worked there .. Never again ! Post review read more

I purchased a Capita snowboard from these guys at a great price. Josh from the store actually drove it down from Temecula to closer to where I live in San Diego after his shift which he did not have to do. I was going to drive up there but he offered to meetup which was beyond my expectations. This was the first time I bought anything from Spokex but it definitely won't be my last. Worse experience I've ever had with an online purchase. Bought a bike early May. There's been delays from the supplier, the bike shop and DHL. By early July the bike still had not been delivered. Tried to organize alternate location for pick up with DHL and seller. DHL failed to meet any sort of deadline. Ended up having to refuse the delivery and have it sent back to the shop. Initial experience with owner, Hunter, was positive, but it's clear it's all empty promises and he fails to follow through anything. It's July 19th. The bike was never delivered. It has been refused and sent back to shop. Hunter keeps making excuses and delaying the refund. Absolute worse experience with DHL and bike shop. read more

This business is shady! They post listings on pinkbike and then when you try to go through with the purchase they increase the price. We (Hunter and I) agreed to a price on a specific bike. One of their selling points is warranty. They said they would honor it. Fast forward 8 months later cracked a rim. I even offered to buy the parts needed. No response tried to talk to one of their partner owner no response. Ended up getting wheel build from another builder. Builder mentioned that they build their wheels tight. Meaning the spokes are tight enough that its susceptible to damaging the rim holes. Tolerance is non existent. read more

These dudes have hooked me up with wheels for awhile now and never disappoint. Gotta give a huge shoutout to Greg for keeping my wheels dialed and having great customer service (love just talking to the guy, has a ton of knowledge). He definitely knows what he is doing and knows how to build some bad*** wheels. If my wheels are getting tuned up, they have always did everything they could to keep me riding (aka loaner wheels with fresh nobs). The SX310 carbon wheels can handle anything I throw at them. Quality material for sure! Keep up the good work! You always have my service! read more

Purchased a set of flows with industry 9 hydra hubs back July 2020. Gave it a few months to give an honest review. No complaints, no issues with tension or the hubs. These days prices are majority the same throughout but what sticks out the most is the customer service with these guys. They are above and beyond to get my wheels to me before my mammoth trip. From order placement to delivery, was told two weeks due to no stock and COVID stuff but I got it less than one week. The guys at spokex were very communicative and precise. Spokex did not disappoint and glad they got a shop up and running. read more

Huge THANKS to Hunter and the SpokeX team. I'm in Northern California and was looking all over for the 2025 Santa Cruz Heckler SL in the new Matte Dark Blue. Well SpokeX was one of the few places that had one due to arrive in the build and size I wanted. I needed it delivered in less than a week for a planned ride in Tahoe. Hunter and team took care of me. They went out of their way to call Santa Cruz and track the status of the bike, build it and ship it to me just in time for my trip. Hunter kept me updated all along the way. I highly recommend SpokeX especially if you are buying a bike online. Hunter took all the stress out of it. Thank you! read more

Found SpokeX on pinkbike and couldn't be happier. Picked up a set of their SpokeX SX310 carbon wheels built with i9s. The wheelset came exactly as I ordered and super quick. Not only do they look killer with the gloss finish but the build quality is top notch. They came taped and with valves ready to go. After two weeks of hammering on them, zero issues. By far my favorite wheelset ahead of my reserve 30s, blacklabels or enves. And no fear of pushing them, the warranty is as good as it gets. Customer service is beyond 5 star. I was having an issue with a reserve 30 that kept breaking spokes after a local shop strung it for me. SpokeX sent me a label to ship it to them and kept me posted on what they found. Had it restrung in just a couple days. When I received it back, it was taped and without me asking they had re-greased my i9 hub. Amazing customer service. I'm done looking for wheel builders. Spoke X has all my business in the future. Don't hesitate to give them a shot. read more

Can't say enough nice things about this shop, had a wheel trued and dialed in here and kept having a slow leak somewhere...these fellas took the time to retape the wheel three times and figured out it was the aftermarket valves I purchased elsewhere they put on, they put a legit valve in and that was the key. Appreciate these fellas and they are always informative as well. read more

Hunter was awesome! Great customers service. Bought my 1st Yeti from SpokeX. The derailleur needed some tuning and it was done the next day. The service they provide for Yeti owners is great. As many of you know, there's a break-in period where parts need to settle in and they provide a free follow-up service to retune the bike. Shop is pretty cool too. They have chairs you can spin on while waiting. read more

Late review but I wanted to do a ride before I post this review. During the purchasing stage, everything went plenty smooth with Hunter. He worked with me to make sure I got what I wanted and timeframe wise, the wait was surprisingly short. Living hundreds of miles away, I have asked for a friend to help retrieve the wheel set. He worked with me on that too making it a smooth as possible. Worksmanship on the bike also is no joking matter. Wheels were pretty true and everything functions as is. No loose spokes or out of wack places. I rode on some gnarly trails out in SC and they held up pretty well. I guess this also tells how good the Stans EX3s and i9 hydras are. All in all to sum it up, great wheels, great service, oh yea and a great price. read more

Hunter is a top notch dude. I exploded my factory wheel and I had a custom wheel set built by spoke x. I went with i9 hydra hubs and Stan ex3 rims. The wheel is so stiff, I finally know what that means. Spoke x built the wheel extremely fast. They had items in stock while other shops do not. All for a ridiculously competitive price. read more

Great customer service. They take care of there customers with great service, and they stand behind there product. Bought a set of wheels a little over a year ago, had an issue with one of the wheels took it back, Hunter the owner fixed the issue, re tapped the wheel, new valve stem and serviced the entire hub, then meet me half way to deliver my wheel so I wouldn't have to drive as far to get my wheel and no charge for anything!.
