My little sister went to get a full set by the owner and she totally messed up her nails. She did not listen to what my little sister wanted and did what she wanted to on her nails. It looked like a little kid did them. My family and I had better expectations because the owner was doing them. My family and I will not be getting our nails done there again. read more

I've been going for years but I made an appointment and the owner Vicki said "go shopping come back in a hour. She has no appointment book. I travelled 20 minutes and didn't have an extra hour. Third or fourth time at Beyond Nails. Since I'm becoming a regular I should leave a review. I first wandered in needing a pedi for an event that evening. I walked in and was immediately seated in a chair and received a very nice French pedi with sugar scrub and massage. Second visit I came in with some raggedy gels needing ....something and got a gorgeous set of pink and whites. My first full set with Vicki lasted almost a month. No lifting chipping or crusties. Third visit was for a pink fill with Vicki. She does excellent work and is the owner. Today I called ahead needing a pedi and a mani refresh. This was the first time I went in with a picture of what I wanted and Vicki delivered after a little consultation about how to best achieve the look she went to work. I'm very very pleased. See pic! Tips: although you don't need an appointment you may end up waiting for your services. Plenty of parking. Credit cards accepted as well as cash. You can tip on the card but you do need to tell the cashier how much to add. If you are sitting in Vicki's chair it can be a little chaotic as she answers incoming calls and directs all incoming customers. Polish selection is good. There are two areas for non-gel polish. One by the entry door and another across from the pedicure chairs. The presentation of the gel polishes could be improved. They're often interspersed in the general polish population and could be cleaned up and reorganized. Cleanliness isn't the greatest but the tools are cleaned between clients as are the pedicure tubs. If you're in Sparks and need your nails done come on in to Beyond Nails. read more

I have been coming here for the last few months and I think this is (so far) my favorite place in Reno. A friend recommended I come here, after I noticed her nails always looked nice and seemed to last so long. Main reasons I love this place and would recommend it: 1) I always show up without an appointment and usually near the end of the day and they are ALWAYS willing to fit me in, despite how busy they are. 2) They are very affordable and do a great job and 3) My nails always end up looking exactly (if not better than I imagined). If I ask them to fix something they do it without hesitation and my nails dont lift and end up lasting several weeks still looking fresh! read more

Okay so if you want a no frills, get-the-job-done pedicure in Spanish Springs, then head on over to Beyond Nails located in the Sparks Crossing shopping center. Cleanliness..check! They keep their foot baths clean by using a plastic lining. Foot care... Check!! They do a nice job of washing, trimming and grating! Massage... check! They spend a good 10ish minutes on a scrub and lotion massage(a lot of other places I've been to skimp on this phase). Painting nails... check! My girl did a neat and tidy job of painting my toes, making sure to put my flip flops on BEFORE painting. What a concept! Too bad I didn't love the color I chose, but that's on me! I would say the only minus I would give is that the massage chair didn't work very well and for someone such as myself with a bad back, I was a little disappointed with that. Next time I am in need of a walk-in appt to get a pedi when I'm in Spanish Springs, I'll come back to Beyond Nails! read more

I'm only putting one star cause my nails came out fine. But if you are used to asking for dip or design go elsewhere . I wish I would've looked them up prior. I was a walk-in and asked if they had time to do a dip manicure. Instead of providing samples they told me to look in the box full of dip powders to choose my color , which was full of dust that I got all over my clothes so I gave up. I settled for gel . They were extremely rude and in a rush, mind you I was there at 3 and their store hours say open til 7pm. It's not like they were busy either cause the 2 girls I was speaking with were doing each others nails and had me wait which is fine but don't rush me out and do a half ass job cause you got caught up. Other places are always welcoming to customers as we are providing to their business but not this place. They'd rather shoo away the customer. read more

I got my nails done by the manager Vickie, who was really welcoming and funny. Showed her what I wanted (Ombré nails) and she did it better than the photo I showed her! She took her time and listened to what I wanted and I haven't been this happy with the results of my nails since moving here. She definitely knows what she's doing! I also got my brows done with Becky and I love it! This really is a great salon and I do not understand the bad reviews. They are expanding for a reason! read more

I really don't get why there are so many bad reviews. I stopped in today at 6pm without an appointment. I was greeted right away and was told they could take me. It was really busy in the salon so I was very surprised I didn't have to wait. Now I've seen in other reviews complaining of the cleanliness or lack there of, but to me they were extremely clean. As to those who mentioned that their implements aren't sanitized....they are sanitized. The only places I've gone to where they "open" a new package of implements also charge $50-$60 for a basic pedi. Yen my technician was very friendly and sweet. She did a fantastic job on my toes and she gives the best foot/calf massage. I will definitely be a regular customer here! read more

I went in for a pedicure and acrylic take off today and the lady who did my pedicure didn't even scrub my feet and my pedicure was rushed! I normal come here all the time and never had a problem. But today they were busy but I schedule an appointment with them. When I told them I wanted an acrylic take off the lady who did my pedicure started to talk in their language and said sorry I am not doing that for you someone else will I said thats fine and they were so rude about having to take off my acrylics I didn't even end up doing it. I dont care who did the acrylics before them. They should never make their customers feel bad about it. I will Never have them do anything on me again! read more

I made an appointment and went in on Sunday. The salon failed to state you must wear a mask, of course I forgot mine. They make you buy one for $6 or your appointment is cancelled. Additionally, I was rushed through my pedicure in 25 minutes. She did the wrong color, I tried explaining it wasn't the right color but she just shook her head and did it anyway. Once done and thoroughly annoyed I watched 2 things happen that were extremely unprofessional. First one being, they accused a child of losing the polish they chose and were trying to make the mom pay for it. When what really happened was someone cleaned up after the child was done and put the polish away. The treatment and accusatory action was disgusting and uncalled for! Second, they were watching clients. Now, I paid close attention to the rules of things opening and I know esthetician's were not included! Profiting on the pandemic is disgusting!!! Masks do not cost $6 and accusing a child of stealing or losing something is even worse! read more

I took my 11 yr old daughter in to spoil her after recovering from a surgery to repair a cleft lip. The last of 16 procedures! I purchased her a pedicure and manicure. The lady who did her manicure left a lump of gel 1/4" thick on one thumb nail. I took her back in. My lady fixed it. My daughter wait until we get home ("so I'm not as upset") to tell me that her hand was burnt on a lamp when her initial lady did her nails and the lady didn't even apologize!!! I call today.... And ask for a refund or for the profit portion of my daughter's expenses to at least go to my nail lady. The manager says "let me enlighten you, everything in this world needs evidence." I agree! So I ask for the business email address and I'll email a doctor's note ahs picture for evidence....manager says They don't have an email. & I have to bring my daughter in so they can they can do for my daughter....... Like I'll let them touch her again? They could have at least told me before we left??!! Just to note a pedicure manicure for an 11 yr old was $75 read more

Today was my first time at beyond nails. I have mixed reviews. I was very happy with the service. Walked in, got attention right away... I had a certain color in mind and they didn't have it so they made it! Vicki is the owner and she did my nails. They look great and everyone was nice. The down side... There was a big scene and confrontation between the owner and a customer. They were yelling and kind of made my nail experience uncomfortable. And while I think the owner was in the right, it was not necessary to cause that big of a scene with a business full of customers. Overall, I would go back read more

If you're going in for a quick pedicure I definitely recommend this place. I love my pedis here. They can always get you in quickly and without an appointment. Vicky did my manicure tonight and it was absolutely awesome. I love the coffin shape that she did and I love the sparkles that she added. It is really hard to find a good place where you can get a great acrylic manicure, but Vicky does an awesome job and I would definitely recommend her. If for any reason you're unhappy with it she will make sure that it is done right. Thank you!!! read more

Complete chaos. Scheduled a mani/pedi appt. I requested 10am, but person on phone asked if I could do 9:30. I agreed. I showed up to locked doors and waited outside until 9:45. Lots of chaos inside. My technician kept stopping to answer phones and do various other things in the salon. Deluxe $45 pedicure isn't worth it. No attention to quality or details. Give your hard earned money to a different salon. Just finished. Looks like a blindfolded 5 year old did my nails. Too pissed to go back inside. Updated 11/02/2018 Hello all! I'd like to take a moment and update my original review. I decided to go back to Beyond Nails as I was in desperate need of a last minute pedicure. I was pleasantly surprised!! I went in knowing there was a 50/50 chance I'd leave disappointed. Instead left excited to update my original review and refer all of my girlfriends! From the moment I walked in I noticed a new and improved color selection!! Yay! And then VIVIAN came and took me next door to their new and more relaxing salon add on!! Ladies and gentlemen... for $55 I got the best pedicure I've ever had! Better than the ones I've had at the Spa Atlantis, Spa Toscana, SOAK... where I paid well over $100! VIVIAN informed me the products she was using were all organic. They smelt, felt, and left my skin feeling AMAZING!! I asked VIVIAN how long this new addition had been done and she informed me just a month... so maybe it won't stay as nice, new, and clean for long. But I sure hope it does! Either way, as long as you get VIVIAN, you will get your moneys worth! She is really great. She is the sweetest lady and very very talented!! So ask for her!! Or maybe even wait... she's worth it! read more

I went in for a full set and got in quickly without an appointment. However, my technician was unable to do the design I asked for (Marble accent), and ended up doing no design because my nails were "too short." I have had designs on short full sets before, so I thought this was strange. My final full set looks sloppy and messy. I will be going to another salon to have them fix this disaster. I do not recommend Beyond Nails. Edit: after taking a shower, it became apparent that my nails were not cured properly. My nails were smearing, peeling, and chipping after getting out of the shower. This is absolutely ridiculous. Beyond Nails should not be in the business of doing acrylic/gel nails. Their service was absolutely abysmal. read more

FINGER TORTURE NIGHTMARE I stopped into Beyond Nails because it was close by and it was recommended by a co worker for a quick fix. I wish I could give this place less than 1 star. My experience was horrible. I ernt in to get a fill. (my regular nail tech was out of town). They let me know it would be $35. The nail tech started filing my current acrylics down. She let me know that we would have to start over, and that it would be $50. I was shocked, and said no thank you. She lowered it to a whopping $45. (That is way more than I am used to paying, but I still accepted as my nail lady is out of town. I was understanding as I was just a walk in, and wasn't going to argue prices.) But NEXT, the lady CUT all of my long natural nails off without asking. I made a comment after she did the first one what she was doing. She was "starting over." I was very upset that my fingernails I was trying to grow out were chopped down to nothing. And without asking first. THEN the she took a file and wedged it or between my natural and acrylic nail RIPPING the acrylic off of my nail. This is HORRIBLE for your nautual nail bed, and was PAINFUL. I told the woman it hurt very bad and she said "it's very quick and easy." Easy to say when it's not happening to you. I asked if we could soak them off, and she continued the RIPPING. At this point; I asked to leave. I told her I didn't want to go any further. They told me it WOULD BE TEN DOLLARS. I left with my natural nails cut down and in worse condition than when I came in. read more

I've been here twice now for a gel pedicure. Both walk ins. They always greet me right away and I never have to wait more than a few minutes even when they're packed on a weekend. They ask if I'd like anything to drink, which they offer tea, coffee, water and wine. The girls take great care of my feet and do a wonderful job with the polish. Prices are reasonable. Meh! Made an appointment for pedis today, for 3 people. They sat 2 of us next to each other and third a few spaces down. I sat in my water for 15 minutes before a tech was available, which I was just fine with. The woman next to me was getting her toes clipped at that time. I watched her tech give her a nice long massage, take his time, while 9 yards. She got a fantastic pedicure. Tech finally started me and my whole pedicure was done, polish and all, before he finished final coat on hers. If you are looking for the express pedicure, go to anyone of the ladies working there....after watching whole row, he was the only one who really seemed to take his time and give a great service for the amount paid. I've been there several times in the past and have to say service has been on a downhill slide for sometime. I won't be back after today. The other 2 in my party thought their pedis were so-so, but certainly nothing to brag about. read more

I waited 10 minutes to be seated & then waited in her seat for 30 minutes while she opened boxes & attended to other customers next door. I have always gone here- but never again. Usually, I call to make an appt, but walked in today. Another elderly lady, and her caregiver were waiting ahead of me. While they waited patiently, another woman wanting a pedicure came in. Vicki- the owner, took the woman who walked in before the elderly lady... not my business, but the caregiver said "oh we were here first". Vicky yelled and said "you don't have to come here, I saw you! You're just her babysitter anyways" Completely disrespectful and rude, but I didn't say anything. The caregiver handled herself well, yet left irritated (I don't blame her). I waited for my fill, and the owner Vicky happened to be the one I got. She proceeded to tell me she doesn't like old people because they are too slow, and she took the lady in front of her because she was "faster" and wouldn't hobble like a "retard". She went on to tell me she is a business owner and she doesn't like old people or fat people because she's not in the business of TLC. I was so so uncomfortable. I should have spoke up, but left and never will go back there. Not a good way to keep any sort of business Vicky, and you ARE in the business of TLC! read more

REALLY depends on who you get...todays nails we're not great...definitely did not achieve the look I was going for at all in the picture i showed the technician. Disappointed. The worst customer service I have ever experienced! I brought a client of mine in his 85 in with a walker and we asked if we could get a Manny Petty and they said yes. Moments later the fourth one got a seat and I said I thought she came in last and the lady said don't tell me how to do my job. And then when I help my lady get seated the one that was going to give her her pedicure said oh did you want a pedicure? The lady from up front said "No, she is her babysitter". I was like what?? The owner Vy has zero customer service. I visit every couple of months for an eyebrow trim. Most techs are very kind and do a very good job. Well I went in and got Vy. I concur with the other reviews that cited horrible customer service and rude behavior, especially from the owner, Vicky. I still went there because they are one of the few salons that take walk ins. I feel extremely offended because I feel judged. She basically told me I couldn't afford the diamond nail. Then she tried to tell me designs are expensive too.
