I called same day hoping for an appointment. Alex accommodated me within three hours of my call. I chose sculpted acrylic with hand painted design that she came up on her own after I stated I wanted something for spring. The full set was a 45 minute appointment that included a great vibe and awesome conversation. She explained her process very well and was gentle. I highly recommend this establishment and look forward to returning for a fill!!! I am now three sets in, two of them fills and I am still so impressed! I haven been searching and searching for a nail salon near where I live that that was clean, used reputable products, and didn't treat you like you were just a number. I called the shop and Alex was able to get me in for a pedicure just before my trip! It is a small quaint shop and very relaxing, and let me tell you, Alex is a master at her craft! I will start by saying that I have not had my nails done in over 6 years. I am also a habitual nail biter. Enough introduction to myself....my friend recommended that I go to Nev to do my nails. Hands down (no pun intended) the best manicure and acrylic set I have ever had done. She took the time to form a nail that actually fits my little bitty fingers and my nonexistent nail bed. Top that off with a hand painted freehand style I don't think her talent can be beat anywhere. The salon is very clean and both ladies were friendly and professional. I've been going here for like the past 6 months and Nev never disappoints! I have not gotten my nails done by anyone else at this salon but my coworker does go too Anna and her nails always turn out so good too! I have been getting acrylics for 4 years, and it was always just a hit or miss on whether they are gonna turn out good or not. I also use to never get designs because the tech either didn't do a good job, didn't want to even attempt it, and/or they would charge you extra for designs per nail (I never picked out crazy designs, I love the very simply ones so nothing too hard). But Nev has never turned down any design that I picked, they always turn out good, AND THEY DONT CHARGE YOU EXTRA FOR DESIGNS!!!! Again I don't pick any crazy or super detail designs but I have seen some of Nev's work that are way more detailed than what I pick and they look amazing! Also, my natural nails use too look absolutely terrible (which I thought was normal cause of acrylics), but since going here they honestly look a lot better! The environment is so nice and calm, everyone is always so sweet! They are by appointment only and very busy (which let me remind people that it's a GOOD thing for a small business, so do not get moody with them for not having any open times or can't get you in a hour before closing!! I know from personal experience with my job when we are way too busy to take on anymore customers and they get offended). I don't recommend planning a head if you have a special event to which you want your nails done and want to go here. Yessss to Nails by Nev! I have had some sub-par experiences around Sparks, and now I know where to go. Nev is really open to ideas for your nails. I brought her a picture and she instantly was in the zone helping me pick colors and get it just right. She let me ask to shorten the nails a few times (I'm the annoying one) and she was really happy to do it and make sure I loved them. She's so sweet and friendly, while not being over-bearing and feeling like she needs to fill every silence. She worked with my schedule and was able to fit me in on short notice as well. 10/10 go see Nev!! read more

My teenage daughter wanted to get acrylic nails on New Year's Day, and she called around. Nev got her in and was so good and friendly, we are now converts to only come to Nev! My daughter now goes in every few weeks, and the artwork that Nev draws freehand on her nails is amazing, fun, and creative! **THIS IS THE WRONG LOCATION** Nev is now in the pink Sparks Florist building downtown. I love Nev! I've known her daughter since elementary school (we're the same age, she's the only person I know with my name!) and my older sister is a faithful customer. There is only one nail tech - Nev herself - so if you want to go with your girlfriends that's a problem. Prices are very high for Reno/Sparks - $45 for a full gel/acrylic set. That's all I've ever gotten from her But you certainly get what you pay for! I am extremely satisfied with Nev's attention to detail and how my nails turn out. She's also very nice and chatty, and she has a TV on if you're not that talkative. My very first time ever getting my acrylics done she was very gentle and explained every step, she is very good at making the nails the right length and very even. read more

I have known and worked with Nev for the last last 12 years. She is one of the nicest nail tech I have met. I have watched her help and explain to people how to do their own nails. She has been in the beauty industry for many years. Being in a similar industry I know the only reason you can last as long as she has is her love of the business, and her clients. Okay, second review ever on Yelp, so here it goes. I had to cancel my appointment with nail lady due to conflicting schedules, and was not able to get another appointment with her until end of October sometime because she's booked up. So I looked on Yelp for someone in the Sparks area, and someone who does nail art. The first person I looked at was nails by Nev. I looked at her photos on here and saw that she did nail art. So I called her up, she was able to fit me in due to a cancelation that day. I showed her a couple pictures of nails that I wanted to try out. She was more than ecstatic about doing some some what complicated cherry blossom nails, and all by hand even! I was super happy that she wanted to do the difficult ones! And she was able to paint them up in no time at all!!!! I was super impressed! I've been getting my nails done for almost 3 years now, and love good nail art. Nev is an amazing nail artist and also a very friendly and nice person! She didn't charge extra for the art or anything!! I highly recommend that you try her out!!! In the 15 years I've had acrylic/gel nails I have never enjoyed them as much as I have since I started going to Nev last year. If you can dream it I'm sure she can figure out a way to do it. She was the first person I've gone to that my rhinestones haven't fallen off, she's always willing to try something new, and always has an idea if you're unsure of what you want. I have been searching for a new nail artist. While this one may be the best in the area, if I can't get her to call me back to at least tell me she will not take any more clients, or at least leave that on her voice message when calling for an appointment, shows the failure of her as a businesswoman, and overrides the quality of her work for new business. The point of reviews is to provide experience of existing clients to new clients. Obviously, after 4 messages left with no response, this lady needs no more good reviews, since she has entirely too much business to bother with new clients. The lack of a simple response, even if it is no, speaks volume to character. read more

Don't go to her for nails. I had pedi and over lay done by her on a Saturday. On Monday morning, the "supposed to be glitter stone" that she put inside the flower, most of them fell. The white paint that she used for doing design all were faded. She is not very detailed person. Just did for the sake of doine nails. After she soaked my fit with soap water, she just wiped the soap and painted my toes, did not bother to rinse the soap. Exfoliation was only for the feet. If your are a pedi person and have gone to proper place, you would know, they exfoliate the bottom part, below your keen to the feet and than massage that part with lotion but she did just the feet and toe area only. I have had my nails done in many nail places, with various experiences but this is by far the worst. When I called for to find out if she could fix, she said she did not have time and if I have clear coat at home to put it to make it look fresh. Please do yourself a favor and try Walmart instead of her. While I am not a Walmart nail person but I think they probably will do a better job. Not worth wasting time. Terrible. read more
