I went here with a friend for end of year pedicures instead of doing my own gel pedi for once. Doing them myself, they'll last 6+ weeks with no lifting. It's been 1 week today and I already have lifting on both of my big toes. Very annoying but this is the exact reason why I normally do my own at home for free. Also, I got a French pedi and the white is REALLY thick but I'd already asked them to thin it twice and I didn't know how to speak up without sounding rude (thanks autism), so I already knew it wasn't a design I loved but I could live with it in the winter when nobody's really going to see it anyway. The lifting gives an opportunity for nail health disasters so I'm taking them off soon bc that's the real issue. If I didn't know (and do) good nails, I would've been happy with what I got which is why I'm giving 3 stars. If you're looking for a long-lasting pedi, this is probably not be the place your search leads you to. This was my first time coming here, and unfortunately I was not very impressed with my pedicure experience. I understand it was a very busy day because of Mother's Day weekend (May 9), but I still expected better quality service. I had to repeatedly explain to the nail tech how I wanted my nails trimmed, and honestly I wasn't confident she really knew what she was doing. My nails are still longer than I wanted and not trimmed well, which was disappointing after paying for a pedicure. I also brought my 3-year-old to have her nails done and was surprised to be charged $45 for that alone, which felt excessive. The staff was busy and I understand stressful holiday rushes happen, but overall the experience did not meet my expectations. Pretty typical salon experience. Made appointment in the morning for 10:30 got in no problem. I opted for the #2 pedi which included massage and hot towels which I love, it was $10 more than a regular pedi. I wanted regular polish as I like to be able to remove it myself. My tech tried to talk me into gel but I declined. My friend was already there when I arrived so we sat together to chat. I felt like my service was pretty rushed and the techs talked to each other in their native language occasionally asking how we were or if we wanted water. We were done in less than 40 minutes and my tech left me to start on another client and when I was dry I had to remove the foam pads between my toes. Then she came over to take my payment. We arrived on time and were left sitting for 15 minutes, finally moved to the pedicure chairs and left for another 20 minutes with our feet in cold water no salt soak no jets nothing. We were so disappointed because we had tried the place about a month ago and the service was excellent. We both just went for the basic pedicures instead of the deluxe after sitting for 40 minutes. Mine was done in 15 minutes only one coat of polish no top coat and no hot towel wrap. Then if you want to pay with a card they charge you an extra 2%. I wanted a French tip with a white bow and rhinestone. There was some disconnect between that and the design I received, so I wish I had been more communicative and stopped or redirected the service. The polish was not evenly applied and was spotty in a couple places. Additionally, no top coat was applied so the nails began to become damaged soon after the end of the service. While the tech was friendly and the establishment is cute and clean, I paid $55 but wish the application experience was nicer as these were supposed to be special occasion nails. read more

I had my nails done on Friday. Black with a gold glitter design. Gel polish, which cost extra! By Sunday, two nails were peeling. Went to the salon and had them repaired. Please be careful going to this establishment. As I got an infection twice after getting a pedicure at this facility. (Yen). It's been 5 months and I am still not able to get pedicure I still have the infection. I do not see them disinfect their tools properly. I have only seen rinsing the tools in water and then placing them in a bag and then into steam machine not using any germicide solution to help disinfect the tools. Also be aware fast fills or full set that do not last and everything is rushed (Hun). Take your business somewhere else as this facility do not care about you, all they care about is how much money they make and do not care about your safety. It should not take almost 2 hours to get your nails done. I really wanted to like this place. First 2 visits were fine, the lady up front sent me to one of the guys in the back. The first visit was an appointment and it went well, the guy did my fill in 45 minutes. Great! Second visit was a walk-in, I came back for a full set and a pedi, got the same guy and it went well. So, I'm thinking 'great, this could be my new nail place since I recently moved.' Boy, was I wrong. Third time, walk-in. It's 4 pm and I work at 6 pm so I stopped by to get my nails done since there was plenty of time. Right? Wrong. Again, the lady at front sent me to one of the guys in the back. Never mind there were female techs available. At any rate, I just needed my set removed and a full set. The guy tech was apparently inexperienced but I'm patient because I figured he would not take THAT long. right? I was dead wrong. I sat down at 4:05 pm, and by 5 pm, the tech was barely finishing up with the gel. But I thought, I should be out by 5:30 because 'how long does it take to apply nail polish?" Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. I finally sigh, the tech asks "are you ok?" to which I responded "I have to work at 6 pm." The tech is dismissive and continues taking his slow time. Now, I don't like to be rude, whether it's with someone fixing my food or doing my nails because I don't want them to mess up either my food or my nails. So I let him finish. Finally, at 5:45 pm, I pay AND tip, then I sign out. ONE HOUR AND FORTY FIVE MINUTES LATER. Never going back. Tried a new place (to me) and they did not disappoint! When I get a pedicure I go for the whole experience and especially love a good foot and leg message. The detox pedi is definitely that! My feet weren't in the best shape either (it had been at least a month since my last pedi) but it didn't matter here. The technician was friendly and I was able to walk in right away too! (10am on a Saturday!) Lots of attention on my cuticles and calluses and then the massage! Oh the massage was heavenly! I almost feel asleep! I don't need to say much you can look at the pictures but first I asked for color ombre at the top into White. She refused to do that because she said it wouldn't grow out right which I did didn't care for because it was only for a special event. But she was very forceful so I just gave up. Then she rushed through it, which resulted in having a lot of acrylic buildup around the nails which you can see in the picture. I pointed out a big blob on my yellow thumb and she tried to rip it off, which ripped off skin too, so I didn't point out the other others, but you can see them in the picture. This is my favorite nail salon in Sparks...maybe even in Nevada! These ladies are so nice, and they work so hard. They do such an amazing job every time I'm there. I absolutely love them!! The space itself is unassuming on the outside but on the inside, its an oasis of relaxation. The smells...calm and peaceful...immediately make me feel at ease when I walk in. It's always clean and tidy. I never worry when I'm there. The service is amazing. I always call beforehand just to see if I can get in. I never ever wait!! I've been there 20+ times and not once have I waited for longer than a few minutes. The owner is so sweet, and she always takes extra special care of any guest I bring - my daughter or my mom. I'm so saddened by my experience here today! I was a walk in, visiting from out of town and wanted to get my nails filled in between errands. The initial service was a little rough, bending my fingers and digging her nail into my skin. But - whatever I know it's hard to do art on finger nails so I didn't say anything. Then she does my fill. And I say "oh, um- my fill didn't go to my cuticles". She said she used something clear and not to worry when she painted it would look filled. I've been getting my nails done since I was 16 (39 now) and never had that experience- but honestly I figured I'd trust the process and see if maybe her "style" was different than I expected. As long as they looked nice at the end I'd be happy. She finished filing them and then starts to apply paint. And they look AWFUL. The paint doesn't go to my cuticle - it ends at the fill and I have a gap looking like 1-2 weeks of outgrowth. I point this out to her she says it's fine. I ask her to stop and I tell her how it looks like I already need a fill and she just straight up says "nope" and keeps saying she put a "clear coat" on my nails, that's why I can still see them? She eventually gets someone else (I'm figuring the owner?) they speak for a few minutes and then the owner starts telling me they look fine, that the original lady will fix them. But the original lady doesn't think they look bad (she's told me several times how great they look) and I tell the owner I no longer want the service performed by her and I will pay a bit for the materials used on me but that I am done and leaving. The og nail lady tries to charge me $35! I gave her $10 and left. I already scheduled an appt with my nail gal at home. Moral of the story- don't cheat on your nail girl and do NOT go to this place for a fill. Terrible service. read more

Came here for a spur of the moment pedicure. Called around 2pm to get in for 2 pedicures at 5pm. They easily accommodated us which was awesome! The space is clean and airy. Much larger than it looks on the outside. The prices are extremely reasonable compared to others in the sparks area. They had a great assortment of colors to choose from. There were a good amount of seats filled, but I always appreciate when they space us out. They had a variety of color samples to choose from and the foot service itself was great. I did the middle package in which there is a soak, I chose lavendar and found it very relaxing. It's nice that it's nearby and they take later appointments. I've been here 3-4 times now for gel manicures and regular pedicures. If you're not doing gel, I'd say this place is okay for a regular pedicure/manicure. However when I got the gel manicure they used a Dremel to get the gel off instead of soaking them to remove it. My nails now look and feel absolutely terrible! They're super brittle and thin because in the process of taking them off with the Dremel they also took a lot of my nail with it. I tried nail strengthening for a week and that didn't even help. Not going back unless they change to a healthier treatment of their client's nails. read more

However, my second service I went to another salon (who is needing a model) and it was a biggest regret! After few days one of my nail broke, the only thing that was holding this nail together was the acrylic (which was my biggest mistake of having her use it. Fast forward, I finally made an appointment with Friendly Nails however I was not seen with Lam (she was the one that did my nails the first time because I was late and my fault of not waiting for her. I treated both myself and a friend to a gel manicure. My daughter recommended this place as she had past pedicures. Upon arrival, I explained I wanted to remove to remove my existing gel acrylics and just get a gel manicure. They directed me to a female manicurist and my friend to a male. After my manicurist attempted to drill the polish off, she noticed the acrylics underneath. She tried to tell me I needed a fill. I explained I didn't want the nails on even though it was time for a fill. Once she understood, they talked amongst themselves in their native language, followed by disgusted looks. I was told I needed to switch with my friend, so I went willingly. One at the new station, the male aggressively grabbed my hand and began to clip my length away and then used a fake nailed to rip away the existing partial acrylic. When they nail wouldn't come off in areas, he kept aggressively sliding the fake nail under and eventually ripping the nail off one by one. Each time when I thought the pain couldn't get any worse but each time I yanked my hand back and announced, that hurt really bad. He just waited for me to put my hand back and did the same process on the second and third and each time I became more assertive and even said " that F'ing hurts" and told him I can see a thick layer of my actual nail bed being ripped up. He replied "Oh it is stuck." I told him this is supposed to be a relaxing and a pampering treatment, but my nails feel like they were bleeding. He never tried to drill a layer or any other method. After he ripped the pinky nail off tearing yet another deep layer, I yelled enough.... this is the most painful experience, and that still F' ING HURTS!" I asked if they no longer attempt to soak them off or drill them down before removing them. he responded with, " Oh, you want soaK? Ok $20 more. I told him if that would save me pain and my nail beds, then yes! He had already cut all my length off, trying to remove them with the fake nail. I wanted to argue the fact that it should only be $10 because he just yanked the ones off on my left hand But I didn't. I KNOW I SHOULD HAVE JUST WALKED OUT AT THAT POINT, and trust me, I wanted to. I didn't want to ruin my friend's pampering and overall experience. After the soaking began, more of the manicurist came by speaking their language and would look my way and0 laugh. My guy never said anything to me until the end when he was surely trying to work on a tip. He charged me $55. I paid $90 overall as my friends. wad $35. My left hand nail beds are still sore. My cuticles are tore up. I am 52 years old and have a high pain tolerance. This was the worst manicure and nail removal I have ever had. The pictures below do not do it justice, but hopefully, I can deter someone else from being a victim. After leaving and sharing my experience with my friend in the car, she confessed she was relieved when they had us switch. She explained she had that guy do a manicure yhe last time, and he was rude and rough. I might add too just before leaving, we overheard other manicurist offering their guest wine, water, or soda. Went yesterday for a mani/pedi. Called ahead of time to schedule. Arrived no problem took me back and got started. I selected a upgraded pedi with hot stone massage. Pedi took all of 30 minutes. Hot stone was one pass over my leg and then sat my foot on it. Move on to the mani. Not much different. Rush was the name of the game. The salon was NOT busy yet they were rushing me through like they had 20 people waiting. They flooded my cuticles with polish and a day later my nail polish is lifting (gel polish). Will not go back. So disappointed as they used to be good. Not sure what happened. Over $100 for service plus tip but wasn't worth the money. I was done with both in about 40-50 minutes.
