Terrible business. My wife signed up for a 3-month trial membership and loved the place. Towards the end of her trial, she asked the front desk person what happens at the end of 3 months. The person told her that the membership would end. On my wife's last visit, she asked the front desk person again what would happen, and they told her that the membership would expire and end. Well...that was not true. I was looking over our finances, and I noticed a charge from Sunsation, and they have now been billing us for 5 months past our 3-month trial. My wife called and asked if they could cancel the membership and the person said she could not. You have to come in person and cancel the membership (so customer-friendly, I know). My wife asked if she could email and cancel that way, and the person said she doesn't think the business has an email (later, we found out they do have an email). My wife asked if she could email and cancel that way, and the person said she doesn't think the business has an email (later, we found out they do have an email). So she wrote a letter and went in to cancel, but the manager was not in, so she was told she would have to come back. I finally called today to help my frustrated wife and thankfully they agreed to cancel our membserhip without us having to come in. At this point, they have stolen over $1000 from us, and all they could tell me is that I should pay attention more to bills and make sure I read the contract I sign. Here's a tip. Just be honest with people and build a business that takes care of people and doesn't play games like this. They told my wife twice that the membership would expire, and when she signed the contract, they should have told her that the 3-month contract auto-renews unless you come in and cancel. Terrible business. They don't care about people. Just want the money out of your pocket and it's your problem if you are too trusting. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. read more

I have been going here off and on for quite a few years and I always go back to them. Their packages are very reasonable, they sell lotion and goggles right there at the counter or you can bring in your own whichever one you prefer. All of those business cards are actually businesses that are there at the salon, so you can basically get your hair done, tan, did your eyelashes done whatever else you could think of they've got it. read more

I loved Sunsation Tanning Salon! The facility is clean and the staff are friendly. I went to the salon on 05/13/2024 to end my membership. The older woman at the counter was unsure what needed to be done but told me she would get it cancelled. In June 2024 I was not charged so I assumed it was handled. The other day I noticed a pending charge from the salon and out of curiosity I did a transaction search to see if that was the only one. To my disappointment I started being charged AGAIN for a membership in July 2024 and have had monthly charges since then. I emailed the salon and received no response. I called the salon and the owner will not contact me and only goes through their staff. The owner states I didn't sign a cancellation to which I explained the interaction I had with their employee. I was informed that employe is no longer with them. I am a small business owner. If my employee makes a mistake, I make it right. Very disappointed. read more

Sunsation Tanning Salon - Membership cancelled in May 2024. Started being charged again in July 2024. Employee failed to cancel the membership- won't refund. - Spray Tanning Near Me - Sparks, Nevada

Love coming here. The staff is incredibly friendly and tanning rooms are always so clean.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff! Great prices on tanning packages using premium quality beds.

Great spot for a spray tan! I was running around last minute looking for a spray tan- called the studio and was able to get squeezed in prior to closing. Great customer service!!! I Got a spray tan from Caitlin who was very kind and walked me through step by step on how to pose and what color would work best for my skin tone- great price/coverage AND the tan lasted a week! I couldn't recommend enough! read more

Sunsation Tanning Salon - Spray Tanning Near Me - Sparks, Nevada

First time in and bought a 1 month package. I let one girl go in front of me and then everyone went in front of me because I was new. Hah... Very clean and cute atheistic. Clean tanning rooms and offer bed tans, sprays, facials, waxing, etc. A tad concerned when I asked about the how often they change the bulbs and the girl said "I don't know, maybe 1x a year, they still burn people so I assume they work"... then I asked about eye googles and she said they were $5 which is fine but then stated "honestly, just throw a towel over your face." Didn't mention lotion or anything. ( hoping they change them more often than that) She did recommend 5 minutes to start on a max 10 minute bed since I haven't been in awhile but overall I am really excited to start getting some color for summer!! Very kind and friendly staff and they have a salon dog!! read more

First of all the lady that sprayed me was very nice. However, I'm super disappointed with how this spray tan went. I've had many spray tans before and this was a huge disappointment. It was patchy from the moment I received it. I requested a few touched ups while I was receiving it because Parts of my hand feet and chest were missed with no product. I know you're supposed to look a little dirty after getting sprayed until youve rinsed but this was just a huge disappointment. I asked for a refund immediately after receiving the spray tan because looking at my neck I knew my 13 year old self would have honestly done a better job. I went home and washed it off immediately as I am not risking a bad spray tan before a family vacation. With that request I was told that it was my fault because the rain could have had something to do with it. I had walked from my car out front into the salon in a light drizzle fully clothed and that was blamed for why my spray tan was messed up. I have not recieved a refund and am disappointed in how the manager or owner handled the situation telling me to come back the following day after the tan had developed and set. With the finger prints from just dressing and trying to show the attendant that this wasn't working and looked patchy. This felt like for me a lack of training and or prioritizing spray tans. I've read the great reviews about tanning booths but i prefer spray. If you're looking for spray tans I'd highly recommend not coming here. The booth was also super dirty because the bottom of my feet were darker then my spray tan. So that was really gross as well. read more

Sad writing this but the new owner is awful. Yesterday I listened to her screaming at a staff member for over an hour during my lash appointment. The place has also definitely gone downhill over the past year. Black dirty toilets, overflowing trash cans, bugs & cockroaches. read more

I'm a tanning newbie. My partner told me tan fat looks better than white fat, so off I went! The lady who got me all signed up was extremely helpful. She explained the difference in the bed strength, which one would accomplish what I hoped, showed me different plan options, and helped pick a lotion (bronzer I think?). She also wisely dialed back the time to about half the typical. Even with that I got a little pink. I can't imagine if she wasn't paying attention how burned I could have got. Once you're all signed up it's SUPER easy. Just walk in, give your name, they tell you a bed number and send you back. Goggles and a towel are cleaned and waiting in the room for you as well. There is a timer too to keep folks moving along. I go midday so no issues having to wait though I could see that being an issue around lunch hours. Also, mega bonus points for the cute chunky smushy faced bulldog that greeted me on my first visit! read more

I have to say... coming from California, this is by faaaar the cleanest tanning salon I've been to. The tanning staff, owner are all amazing. Always super helpful, friendly and it makes me feel like I'm family. Trust me when I say, you want to tan here! They're remodeling and it's already looking so gorgeous!!!!!! read more

I see Karla for waxing and brows! Not only does she make the process easy and as painless as possible, she also uses great product. Her pricing and scheduling is good for the market. She will always be who I call for my waxing needs! read more

Traveling for baseball and wanted a quick spray tan. I've had excellent spray tans so I had something to compare this to. First, it was very nice and clean (based on reviews I guess it was recently renovated). Girl at front was really nice and helpful. $40...not bad. At my prior tans in Vegas I was always given a disposable underwear, so maybe I'm spoiled that way. Here...nothing but a hairnet. No biggie. As to the tanning room itself, small and no ventilation; poor lighting likely didn't help tech spraying me. Nozzle needs to be cleaned. I left with blotchy spots everywhere: hands, felt, shins, and neck. I unfortunately had to rush home immediately to rinse it all off. I think they need better lighting, ventilation, and to clean their nozzle ASAP read more

I think that this is probably the best place I've ever tanned at! The gals that work there are super sweet and know their stuff. The location is pretty easy to find and not that far from me. The store front is vast and spacious. They take good care of their beds and use quality light bulbs. They even provide the eye protection which was new for me. Any time I had forgotten mine or my keychain broke, I'd have to pay for a new one! They carry designer skin lotions, which is awesome because that's the brand I'm used to and really like. I've tried other brands, but I think designer skin is the best. I've had HORRIBLE experiences with other tanning places. I used to go to pacific sun tanning in sparks, but the last time I was there they were closed with a note saying that their Reno location was still available. It would've been a huge inconvenience to have to drive all that way. So, needless to say, I hadn't tanned in a while. I paid about $140 for 1 month of unlimited tanning on the high pressure bed. I'll admit, I was a little apprehensive about going in for the time the girl (her name is Amber) suggested because of what happened the last time I listened to the person working the front desk at a different tanning place (my review of my experience is under bronze body if you're curious). BUT!!! I didn't burn or even get a little bit pink! The (I am assuming) owner informed me that they were going to also have a retail area in which they would sell apparel and such pretty soon. Can't wait! read more

Amazing! Every time I come here everyone is so nice! This was the second tome I went there and I had brought my sister for her first spray tan they did an amazing job and made her feel so comfortable. High recommend anyone wanting to get spray tan/tan place is so clean and the staff give amazing customer service!! Will be coming back! read more

After a really kind phone conversation the day prior to my service the salon owner Deena greeted me with excitement and I felt immediately welcome..I received my Brazilian wax by Danielle who was just as caring and sweet and made me feel very comfortable .. my airbrush that a received by Deena was a very fun and pleasant experience. I absolutely recommend this little gem to all you beautiful ladies out there especially also for those who travel to burning man and need a last minute beautification ;) Thanks so much Danielle and Deena for the Love to your profession and your expertise read more

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a great tanning spot as winter is approaching. I can not say enough good things about Sunsation. Every time I walk in, the front desk girls are so sweet and helpful with everything I need... not to mention my spray tan was excellent. I noticed they know every customer by name and are extremely accommodating. Can not stress enough how well this business is run! Can't wait for the remodel read more

I come here for nails... most of the time it's not a big deal . Clean and decent , except this last time they are obviously going through a remodel but to not shut down or have some kind of air flow in the building to remove the fumes from the building is insane, with over spray covering the counters and waiting chairs , not only that they don't have an operating bathroom for clients to use as it's being redone . I'm actually really disappointed, for a place to be considered a tanning salon this isn't what I expected read more

Just went today to get an airbrush tan from a deal I bought on groupon. I'm not sure who it was that did my tan, (I imagine she was the owner) but she was very nice, professional, and answered all of my questions, and made me feel super comfortable! When I had told them I'd only used a machine to spray tan, and was a little iffy about airbrush, she assured me that airbrush is the better option, more customized, even, etc and I should at least try it, and if I really didn't like it or want it, she would allow me to use the machine! This time I wore a bandeau and a thong, but i think next time, I will go without..the color is just beautiful! I will definitely be back here to be sprayed for any major event, and I highly recommend this location! read more

I am not writing this to be malicious , because the staff was very friendly . However do not ever no matter what EVER get a spray tan from here. Like ever. I was very nervous it would be orange and streaky so I asked the girl numerous times if that would be the case she assured me that it wouldn't so I went ahead and did it . After I rinsed off after 12 hours of being so nervous , I had speckles all over my arms it almost looked like zebra and leopard print . Then a day later after only one shower my legs were speckly . Hugest waste of 40$ ever and extremely embarrassing during my weekend in Tahoe. Please take my warning . read more

Sunsations 1450 E Prater Way Sparks NV 89434 is totally awesome and you will not find any friendlier, knowledgeable staff then the girls at Sunsations. Guys like me hate to ask questions but these girls rock, they don't make you feel stupid when asking less then intelligent questions. They make you feel comfortable no matter who you are. I would suggest getting a 1 month as many tans as you wish or butt can stand until tan. Right now, pay for 4 weeks and get a 5th week for free. Just my way of saving a few bucks. read more

The girls who work here are very knowledgeable and friendly. This place is fairly priced and doesn't tack on a ridiculous sign up fee (or whatever they call it). I did go to another place, talked about and settled on a package deal for $69 a month. When she was done she said "that will be $138.00". I thought it was $69? She said it is but there is a $69 dollar registration fee. That is so dumb I declined and kept looking. Sunsation is my happy place! read more

I recently revisited this place a couple of weeks ago because I needed a spray tan for my weekend in Vegas. I adored the owner Beth and was sad to learn that she sold the salon! However, when I went in to get a a spray tan, I was impressed with how the new owner transformed the place. They offer a great selection of clothes and the kind girl at the front desk was able to get me in that evening for a spray tan. They only charge $30 for students with a valid student ID which I greatly appreciated! My bronze glow lasted a week and I will for sure be coming back. This is definitely the best place to get a spray tan in Reno. California Sun charges $25 but they only have a spray booth and it never comes out as even or bronze as I would like it to. I so glad I can still depend on Sunsation for all my tanning needs! read more

I've been going to Beth and Christa for years. I've moved but won't go anywhere else when I'm in town. By far the best

I had been tanning at the old Caughlin Ranch location for years (since 2000) and was SO excited to find out about the Sparks location after my move to Spanish Springs. Sunsation offers excellent customer service, a great central location, and an extremely clean facility. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable; they make it a point to learn your name and greet you as you enter the salon. The owner takes pride in her business and it shows. She is very approachable and professional. They offer your traditional low-medium-high tanning beds and also mystic/airbrush tans. I wish I could give Sunsation more than 5 stars! They are just fantastic!! :) read more
