I had to head back to Phoenix early in the morning and I am happy to say that my friends rallied despite their hangovers and we all came here for an early breakfast. I've been a Beyond Bread fan for many years. I like being able to choose any bread I want for the wide variety of sandwiches. The fresh breads are the perfect foundation for a good sandwich. Rustic is my favorite. At home I've made mexican bread pudding and french toast out of the Challah. The texture and flavor is perfect for these dishes. Recently I stopped in for breakfast after a long hiatus from breakfasting here. They now have a selection of omelets that was new to me. I had the bruschetta omelet with roasted red potatoes and toast. More food than I could ever eat in one sitting and quite good. Another winner for Beyond Bread. I'll definitely be back to try more of these tasty creations. For those of you who are saying "they're just omelets", you're right. But when I don't feel like putting forth the effort, it's good to know there's a place where I can get a decent omelet, surf the web, drink more coffee than I should and not worry about annoying a server because I'm taking up too much table time. Oh, boy, do I love Beyond Bread. When I moved here from the midwest I was devastated there were no Paneras, and while Panera is yum, Beyond Bread is a great Tucson find and the portions blow Panera out of the water. I always get the Avi's Avo on rustic and my carnivorous husband always gets the Gino's Grinder (no onions). But if I'm there on a Wednesday (green chile and corn chowder) or a Thursday (beef chili), it's bread bowl night. YUM! The service is always appropriately fast for how busy they are and friendly. Ernie's Reuben Saturdays. Second place winner at the world sandwich championships. It's pretty damn tasty. Chicken and dumplings served on sundays! Bacon and bake potato soup served on saturdays! Brads beef on garlic italian=money! Go Fridays to get the soup of the day: clam chowder--the closest thing to this northeast delicacy west of the Mississippi. Cams classic on rosemary bread never disappoints! My family and I went on Friday to beyond bread to eat. My husband had Brads beef while I had Max's MUFFALOTTA with desserts of a bens bell cookie and a carrot cake. My sandwich bread was hard as a rock hardly no artichokes and a ton of onions that I specifically said no to. Kind of like a truck stop in that when you see all the big rigs and bow-legged, toothpick-in-the-teeth dudes lining up - you KNOW. I've never been disappointed at Beyond Bread. Sadly I've put myself on a bit of a strict diet but I knew I could be accommodated at Beyond Bread. If there wasn't something on the menu that fit my plan, I could just ask for what I wanted. They're like that there. No worries, they've got a nice outdoor patio with plenty of tables. Keeping to my strict diet I had the Friday special: an Off-The-Hook Salad. A nice bed of salad greens topped with grape tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion and baked salmon seasoned with lemon pepper. I asked them to leave the croutons off and instead of the Italian dressing that comes wtih it, just a side of balsamic vinegar. Not vinaigrette, just vinegar. My friends both ordered the Avi's Avo - a standing favorite amongst us all.Sandwiches here are PILED with fresh, delicious ingredients and fabulous breads hold it all together. My salad was really good - and huge. I've never cared much for salmon and am trying to learn to like it enough to incorporate it in to my home cooking and this salmon almost had me convinced. It was nice and thin and perfectly seasoned with just enough citrus. It was kind of cold and getting windy plus we had a 10 month old with us so I went in to find someone to ask about getting the oudoor heaters turned on but spied a small group getting ready to get up and go so I approached them and asked if they were indeed leaving. Score! Moved our group indoors and we were warm and toasty in seconds. Just like the parking lot circlers, you're gonna have table vultures too. They scan, they hover and they pounce. My advice when standing in line with a friend is to give them your order and form of payment to take care of and then become a vulture. One more piece of advice. I really like their curry chicken salad, you don't really even need the dressing since it's so flavorful by itself over the greens. Their prices is about mid range, you'll spend about $15 for a meal and drink. Service can get a little slow when they are busy, we've waited for over 20 min for our food to be served before. This is a bakery so you can chose different type of bread for you sandwich, ad if you really like the bread, you can take a loaf home. If you have a sweet tooth, they have a ton of desert to chose from ranging from giant cookies to fresh fruit tarts and cakes. Th ey have a special chocolate swirl bread on Fridays that is super delicious you'll be tempted to eat the whole loaf in one sitting. The great reviews brought me here, of course. We had lunch on a Friday. It is similar to a Paradise bakery or Panera. I ordered the Reuben and my boyfriend ordered Molly's crisis. His sandwich came with no meat? Lol but it was supposed to have turkey? He was a vegetarian for once! We also noticed his sandwich was significantly smaller than my reuben, although this might be because of the lack of turkey. He said it was still delicious though! My Reuben was good. Took a friend to get lunch. Neither of us had been to a Beyond Bread, and were brought in by the return of the Creole Shrimp Po'Boy and Salad adverts. Friendly staff, relaxed environment, and cozy decor. Desserts and the various baked breads are very visually appealing. Drink options were very good, between me and my friend we had Hibiscus and a Mandarin Turmeric Cardamom beverage, both of which were excellent. My friend got the Po'Boy and I got the salad. The shrimp in the Po'Boy were cooked nicely whereas the ones in my salad were unfortunately dry/rubbery. My salad came loaded with croutons and I was also given a few slices of bread. Not complaining about the extra carbs as the salad was good and the bread was reasonably fresh/tasty. My friend opted for apple as I side, I laughed when it turned out to be a whole apple. Probably more suited with the dish if sliced? Overall an okay experience, we would probably come back for coffee and a light dessert/snack. read more

I have to start this review by saying that we had an issue with the tortilla soup at this location yesterday. Everything else we had that day was quite good and what we have grown to expect from this establishment. On the other hand, the tortilla soup was off and I emailed the info email for the company about the issue. I did not ask for anything in the email and was just wanting to let the company know that they need to fix their recipe or something. The district manager for the store, in 1 hr and 11 minutes, responded to my email with agreement and refunding on my receipt. He had already gone by the location and tried the soup himself. I was floored by the level of customer service presented by this manager. Then, today, the corporate outreach coordinator responded with an apology and an offer of a gift card. I am writing this review because this company TRULY cares about customer concerns and opinions. We are not from the area, but are passing through and craving decent pastries. We were impressed with the Yelp Reviews and rating for this establishment so we gave it a try. The basics: The business location was decent and from the looks of the inside, it looks clean. The staff were also friendly. Also a plus? Back Dough is right next to it! Woo hoo!!!! The order: Before we get down to the details of the order, let it be known that we first went to the N Campbell location, but we were advised to go to this location instead "for more selection". This location indeed delivered on an abundance of baked goods selection! We tried on multiple visits their pretzel, coffee cake, two flavors of pinwheels, fruit tart, lemon bar, cheese danish, espresso brownie, and apple turnover. All of them were yummy and flaky (e.g., pinwheel, turnover, etc.), or moist/doughy (e.g., brownie, lemon bar, coffee cake, pretzel, etc.). The only unfortunate thing is that we only discovered this bakery in the last two weeks and we are soon to leave the Tucson area. We suppose that's a good thing since we'd probably gain more than 10 lbs each if we discovered this place in March when we first arrived in the area. We sure wish we have this back home so we can purchase treats for ourselves and family every week! We asked if they ship their treats out to other States and we're told they didn't think that would be possible. Too bad... One thing's for sure, we appreciate all of the treats we tried and look forward to trying more when we're back in the area later this year. Thank you, Beyond Bread! Very good sandwich. My go to sandwich is the BLT. I occasionally get the Mac n Cheese and that's good to. The iced coffees are good to and they are open for breakfast to. The outside is dog friendly and my dogs love to get a little bit of bacon or whatever we are eating. read more

Went to Beyond Bread for a late desert. Probably my worst experience that I have had and I will say they have been a lot better, so that I almost gave this location four stars. So late night: They were out of many of the deserts, which was okay because it was the end of the day and they usually make fresh. They sold us coffee which they usually have at least three containers including decaf, but they informed us they stop refreshing the coffee at 5:00pm (so it sat there from before 5?) and one was out. One employee was very helpful as she apologized and tried to make things right. Then I found out the desert we ordered was not what I thought it was, it was supposed to be a Amaretto bomb, but was Chocolate even though I questioned them on it. The worst was the restrooms, esp the men's was nasty and you could tell it had not been checked in hours. papertowels and mess on the toilets-eww. The other employee checking the women's was talking to herself and very upset about something so that she was slamming things around and generally not happy. ANYWAY: Come during the daytime lunch is the best option. Very good pastry deserts, now they have craft beer and you can get growlers from local brews. Sandwiches and soups are very good. I did have some apprehension about this because I have had their pretzels before and found it way too buttery. Almost impossible to eat. Ok. Impossible. I would not order a pretzel again. This is my spot in Tucson for fresh bread, amazing sandwiches, and desserts! For a limited time right now they have the Tito's Torta which will ruin you for every sandwich you eat in the future, it's that good. The crispy Torta bread is what makes that sandwich. For dessert you have to get any of their pies or the chocolate bombs. The pecan pie is my favorite, who knew there are pecan tree farms all over Arizona? The chocolate bomb is like a little bite size truffle that you will have to exercise some serious self control and not get like 10 of them once you try them....not that I have done that!
