This is seriously the cutest Better Buzz coffee shop I have ever been to! I'm a huge fan of Better Buzz, and am a firm believer that they are the best!!! It makes Starbucks taste like dirt. I always order the "Best Drink Ever" , iced or hot depending on my mood, and it is like heaven in your mouth! It's basically just espresso shots and hot water, but they add a special vanilla bean powder and that's what makes all the difference! It makes it super creamy, and has the perfect amount of vanilla flavor without being too powerful. Their food is also amazing! They have the best bread, and the best avocado toast I have ever had. The avocado toast is huge tho, so I recommend splitting it with a friend if you can. I decided to stop here on my way to OC since it was pretty close off the 5 free way. It was during the week around 7:30am and I thought it would be super busy, but it was actually pretty quiet here. I was able to get my order within 10 minutes, and it was very easy to find front row parking. This is going to be my routine if I ever have to commute to OC in the morning again. Great coffee, good chai, avocado toast was delicious and the breakfast sandwich was very yummy. I missed that you could make it a large for $1 more or I would have gotten a bigger one! Over-rated spot with average food and coffee. Really don't understand what the hype is about. I recommend parking up the street directly above and walking over now that there's a dedicated crosswalk light. Avocado toast was just average, no ingredients were special and it lacked uniqueness. Avocado was a bit brown. Pick up process was chaotic and I watched my food sit there for a good 5 minutes when it could of been on the to-go shelf ready for me to grab. I finally was able to ask someone and they bagged it up for me. Lofty Coffee is a better option in the area for the same prices. read more

A hipster vibe with delicious coffee, treats, and lunch/brunch items. I love the horchata latte! It's a one of a kind and trust me, I've looked around. This place is right off the PCH which makes it convenient but also tricky to find parking near it if it's lunch or dinner time. I love the industrial, rustic, farmhouse feel to the place. Not that there's any such thing as a bad Better Buzz location, but this branch serves one of the most consistent Best Drink Ever's outside of the original drive-through one in PB! And this consistency may be why the line for this particular establishment is aggravatingly long. Or maybe it's because the beach is 3 blocks away. But either way, if you're patient enough to wade through the crowds, you'll be rewarded with a delicious and refreshing drink (and in my opinion, the best signature coffee drink in existence!). The dining area of this place is also pretty scarce. Maybe a dozen tables in all, but the traffic this place gets makes these dozen tables a rare commodity. Overall, I'm just glad that I have access to another Better Buzz! If it were up to me, there would be one in every corner, including the parking lot of my apartment complex! read more

This looked like the place to be due to its large crowd. The interior is beyond aesthetic for all those hipster feeling cafe/foodie bloggers. the staff is kind and willing to help find you the perfect drink or snack! They have plenty of options. I got the chai latte, and they nailed it!! This is a great place to meet up with an old friend, complete group projects, but might not be the best place to study since there is some background noise. Better Buzz is a hip little local coffee chain, but they actually have great coffee and food!! The ambiance at the Encinitas location is very nice and open, but it can get crowded at peak hours. The service was great: friendly workers who were knowledgeable about the menu and trained well. I got the Matcha Latte and the OG Acai bowl which has Acai, Vanilla Granola, Fresh Berries, Bananas, & Honey. The Matcha Latte had a nice matcha flavor and was very creamy and smooth. The OG Acai bowl was very fresh, filling and a nice breakfast option paired with your favorite drink. Overall, if you're looking for a place to study, work or grab a snack, I highly recommend stopping by the nearest Better Buzz Coffee location! read more

I hate to leave a review like this but since I have worked in this industry and have an understanding, my experience left me pretty disappointed. I went in yesterday to get a regular lavender black tea latte (something I get regularly). The girl at the front was sweet and it was quick service although it was really busy. I got my drink and immediately the color looked off to me. I tried it and it was not what I ordered (sometimes this happens, no big deal). Usually I would just drink it anyway but I really wanted what I paid for so I went back up to the front and let the girl know. I even put another tip in because I felt bad asking them to remake although I shouldn't. This is where it gets bad. She walks over to the baristas and I see her explaining what happened. One of them ROLLS their eyes. They clearly get annoyed and luckily a tall girl with amazing hair and glasses just takes the cup and starts to remake my drink (she seemed to not want to deal with the crap herself and just took it upon herself to fix the issue which I appreciated). The drink was remade and it was correct this time. Here is my issue though and why I will no longer go to this location, Why on earth would you clear as day mock a customer or get visibly frustrated to remake a drink when it was made wrong? Especially where EVERYONE can see you. I have worked as a Barista for years and I would NEVER do something like this. It truly hurt my feelings and made me feel like crap. I am thankful for the girl who remade the drink without any reaction and I am thankful my drink was great as usual but I won't go back there again. People don't always remember what you do or what you say but they will remember how you made them feel. Customer service is everything. read more

Holy crap! I'm a big fan of Better Buzz so trust me when I say this, the best drink ever was such a let down at this location. We're on our way back to the bay and we wanted to grab some coffee. We were contemplating to visit the location in Mira Mesa and regret that we didn't. The best drink ever was not the best drink ever for me. Sadly, most of the reviews for this location is true. Amazing collection of coffee beverages! I have tried their horchata latte, rose water latte and iced Moroccan spice. Average coffee place on the 101. The chai tea is good, even if it seem to come from a package (there was still clumps of the unmixed tea in the cup). One word of warning, do not purchase the Acai bowls. They are not freshly made. They are prepared some where offsite and stored in the freezer until an unsuspecting person buys one. read more

First of all, a shout out to my favorite employee JORDAN there at Better Buzz!! I love this place and have been going for years. It's a 20 - 30 minute drive and I still go to this one as the customer service is always amazing and always enhanced by Jordan and staff. Drinks are always consistently good and tasty. What a lovely cafe! It has semi outdoor setup with huge windows and door left open to the front. It also has a cute garden-ish set up along the sidewalk. I ordered iced green tea (they have herbal, green and black tea options). And Turkey pesto sandwich with avocado. The sandwich was DELISH!!! The bread was so fresh too. I've only been to a Better Buzz once (on 7/28/17), as of posting this review, and it was this location. LOCATION: It's in Encinitas, off the main highway, and it's easy to see off the road. It's just annoying to have to try to find somewhere to park on the street. 3/5 ATMOSPHERE: It's pretty nice. The vibe is like that of a typical coffee shop, although a little louder, so if you're doing some intense work, you might want to go somewhere else. But it's pretty open -- they have bar stools at raised tables, as well as some regular tables. They also have added their own personal touches, with signs that say things like "Buzz" and "Coffee First." 3/5 SELECTION: They have lots of coffee drinks, as well as food items, like avocado toasts and acai bowls, which are served all day. 3/5 WHAT I GOT: I got OG (Acai) Bowl w/out honey (bc who wants to eat bee vomit?), and it was pretty good, and the bowl it came in was a pretty good size. The acai blend was okay -- it could've been slightly thicker, but the taste was fine. The bananas on top were riper than expected, the strawberries and blueberries were fine, and the vanilla granola was fine -- more airy than most granolas because of the puffed grains ... Decide to try out their storefront in Encinitas as an alternative to the long lines for brunch. I love the openness of the place, lots of seating (high to low) at communal tables or individual tables. However I thought the menu was in a weird place because I'm always used to a menu usually behind the cashier. Not a big deal though. We got their best drink EVER and the hazelnut divinity. Between the two, hands down best drink ever! It is an americano with vanilla. Not too sweet or bitter. Hazelnut divinity on the other hand.. wayyyy too sweet. I won't be getting that again. We also got the OG Bowl which is basically your average acai bowl. The portion is quite big so definitely enough to share. We also got the bacon egg sandwich which had a nice kick with the chipotle inside. The workers were good on coming around to clear things and were really friendly as well. Whenever I visit San Diego, getting Better Buzz Coffee is a must! I still remember when my best friend took me to try the "Best Drink Ever" at the PB location and it was absolutely phenomenal. It really is the best drink ever! I also love how the cups say "Life is Better Buzzed"! Besides the Best Drink Ever, I really recommend trying the Matcha Green Tea Latte, especially if you're a huge green tea fanatic like me! It's so refreshing and gives you the right amount of energy when you're in need of a caffeine break! This Better Buzz location also has a great selection of food including almond croissants, avocado toast, and delectable breakfast sandwiches. If I lived here, this would be my go-to! We walked in the door, super tired from a long drive, to find this hip, casual, BUZZING atmosphere. The place was packed and alive. Coffee was awesome...the staff was great. Made me feel good, so I'm going back before we head home to Seattle. Better Buzz Coffee is close to the beach area. It has super cute decor and great drinks. We happened across it walking down the main drag in Encinitas. Everything is picturesque. There's always a crowd, so get there early or prepare to hover if you want a seat. My only criticism is the order system. They don't write your name on the cup. I was seated and couldn't figure if my drink was ready or not. I had to ask a few times what drinks were on the counter because I didn't want to accidentally grab someone else's drink. read more

This place and the entire area of downtown Encinitas is very quaint. On a weekend it's bustling with young people and families. Fair warning that it will be hard to find parking on the main streets but turn to a side street for better luck. The interior is open and a great place for studying or hanging out with friends. They also sell some pastries. I like that they try to be eco friendly by having the no-straw cup designs and paper straws. I ordered the lavender black tea is amazing. It's not too sweet (unless you have a sensitive tongue). Unlike most floral drinks from other places, you can actually taste the syrup. So I'm not a huge coffee snob, I am unable to detect notes of "whisky" or "campfire" in my coffee. I generally categorize a cuppa into "good" "drinkable" and "undrinkable". Popped in here after a pilates class for a caffeine fix. Great fun decor, rustic and sort of industrial minimalist without being cold or sterile. Long line for ordering... I hate waiting in line for anything but decided to stick it out. Service was good once I got to the front of the queue. They had quite a few interesting drink options but I'm pretty much a purist, and usually stick with a straight up brew or espresso. Went wild and crazy this time and ordered a latte. Very glad I did - was one of the best lattes I've ever had. Smooth and creamy and excellent coffee. Definitely in the "good" catergory. Always a delight coming here. Get the chai, or my personal favorite, the chai buzz! Some of the best chai in North County for sure -- not too sweet! The interior of this Better Buzz is so open, refreshing, and welcoming! I just love coming here with my friends for a quick drink before we go to Moonlight beach. It's hard for me to write this review because I am a die hard Better Buzz fan and leaving anything less than a 5-star review makes me feel like a trader. BUT it's because I'm such a fan of their coffee (and that I've visited every location 100 times) that I can compare/contrast the locations. I've been here a few times now and given it many chances, but I have to say comparatively this location doesn't size up to the others, for the following reasons: To start, it doesn't have a drive through - not their fault or a bad thing - but just something to keep in mind because the line is almost always to the door. Also, the costumer service here Isn't as great as its sister locations. I used to be a regular of the PB location, and I swear the employees there always have the highest energy with huge smiles on their face. While it's totally understandable the people here are busy working, I do have to point out there is a noticeable difference. There is a guy that works there with longer hair that always has a smile - have to give credit where it's due! Next, and most importantly, the coffee. The best drink ever is not the best drink here. I'm a huge sweet person, which is why I love the best drink ever. It's that perfect combo of milky & sweet. Several times though, I get shorted on the sweet powder and leave with a dark, strong tasting coffee (probably a little healthier though, eh?) Lastly, I have two dog that I use to religiously take to the PB location. One of the reasons why I fell in love with this place is because they would always offer my pups dog treats or a pupiccino (a small cup of whip cream with a treat on top). The most recent time I came here, I asked and the girl at the register and she looked at me like I was crazy. Again, every location is different, I get it. But it's the small things, like the attention they give to your little munchkins that keeps you coming back - despite the lines. read more

The coffee has no flavor, and EVERYTIME I order a regular dark roast hot coffee, there's grounds at the bottom! I always tell them "splash of cream" and they put a ton of cream. Was super excited to come here after lounging at the beach and thought an Acai bowl and cold brew would be the perfect combo. The cold brew was pretty good black and would definitely order it again. The Acai bowl, or soup, was extremely watery. It was a hot day outside, but that's no reason to have the Acai blend be that watery, it was like eating soup. read more

I just spent the weekend visiting California from Arizona, and every morning my family and I came for coffee at Better Buzz! It's my absolute favorite and when I visit it is a place I always have to go to start the day. This trip I got a different drink every day, all with regular cream/heavy cream. I had the mint-infused iced coffee, the iced honey latte, and the best drink ever. Couldn't go wrong with any of them, but I really like the honey latte. I love that the flavors at Better Buzz don't taste artificial and aren't overwhelming. The Encinitas location is a walk-up location, with limited street parking in front of it. I had no trouble parking on a Sunday morning around 8 am. But on both Friday and Saturday morning I had to walk a decent distance to the store. Not an issue, but definitely worth noting since some locations have a drive thru. Each day the baristas and cashiers were super friendly and loved that I came every day, they remembered me! I can't get enough, and have a bag of coffee at home. Can't wait to be back in California for Better Buzz! read more
