My kids loved the foccacia, light and doughy. We loved dipping into the bolognese sauce from our pasta. The pasta was well made and cooked well. My only suggestions was maybe it was almost toooooooo rich/savory. Ravioli was delicious but was a bit too oily for me. Papardelle was nice and thick. This is a such a great addition to our community! Pastraria Vivi is a new pasta marketplace and restaurant. They have fresh homemade pastas for taking home or enjoying in house. They also have oils and other things for sale. They didn't have their license to sell alcohol yet but said they are working on it to have wine. I had ravioli which were delicious, a meatball and focaccia bread which was outstanding! I'd love to go back to buy some fresh pasta & sauce to take home to make! These are still early days, but the restaurant is on the right track. The two dishes and focaccia we ordered were phenomenal. My dining companion had the spinach ravioli with butter sauce and ate all of it, sopping up the rest of the sauce with the bread. I had the pappardelle with Bolognese. It was the best pasta I've had since traveling in Italy. Not heavy, like so many American pastas. I hope the owners consider adding a vegetable or salad du jour, to round out the offerings. Went on 2nd day of opening at noon. This casual dining spot feels like your local Italian shop that sells both lunch and some Italian imports. The display of goods were thoughtfully excecuted. Space can feel a little tight inside with people waiting for pick up, shopping, and dining. Patio dining is available. The wait wasn't long at all as the line moved quickly. Staff worked efficiently and professionally with all the commotion as if they've done this for a long time; very impressive. The open kitchen concept look was also very clean and sleek. I got the pappardelle with bolognese and a loaf of focaccia (not pictured). The pasta was cooked perfectly but the sauce was slightly under seasoned. I loved that they used freshly grated cheese. The freshly baked focaccia ($5.50; wrapped to-go) was delicious; could've eaten the whole thing as it was definitely one of the best ones I've had in awhile. Both the rosemary and olive oil in the bread were subtle and lightly salted; the texture was as fluffy and soft as a pillow. Don't skip the focaccia if it's your first time here!! Cannot wait to go back! 10/10 across the board Such a gorgeous little pasta shop tucked in by the Gap and Trader Joe's. The offerings as you make it to the counter are absolutely delicious and not to be missed. We came to try the pasta but it's easy to remember this is a little Italian market at its heart - with amazing curated oils, olive wood items, Italian chips and snacks throughout. Our party of 4 are all vegetarians (infant included) and everything was sold out pasta wise except for the bucatini and honestly I'm grateful given that it was delicious. We got three bucatini, 2 focaccia and 2 cannolis. Absolutely divine. When it came to the pasta itself and the focaccia I'd describe them as pillowy soft. Delicious tasting but truly just so soft - hard to describe. As we were eating it I was already missing it. Yummmmmyyyy homemade pasta! Dropped in Friday after work and I'm glad I did. Ordered the tagliatelle bolognese and it was delicious. Just what I wanted. Pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce was lovely. Finished with quality olive oil completed the dish. No alcohol but they just opened. Since it's more a neighborhood shop and small, I think it's just fine without it. With alcohol, diners would stay a bit longer and the place is a tad small so best to turn the tables. I'm not mad at it. I sat at the bar - best seat in the house to watch the chefs cook. There was also a super friendly chef making pasta who was so kind and very nice to chat with. He also acknowledged when the pasta arrived and gave me space to enjoy. I'm not in the area very often but will definitely come back when I am. Great job all, keep it up! read more

What a little gem. Went here a few days ago to try them out and have a casual dinner. It's still their first week so they were incredibly busy and selling out of items but they rotate items onto the menu as they make them. We had the cherry tomato bucatini and focaccia. Both were excellent. Pasta was so fresh and cherry tomato sauce was perfect. The focaccia was absolutely perfect and yummy. We also loved the cannolis. The place is adorable with the shop, pasta counter and open kitchen. Fun to watch them making pastas. There are 2 community tables inside and a handful of tables outside. There is also bar seating for eating inside. Tables turned over pretty quickly but we had to wait a few minutes. I will definitely be back to pick up pastas to go and to eat there. read more

The hype was big for this little place and it was a wee bit disappointing. What is great: The fresh pasta! Absolutely delicious and the perfect texture. It is very cute inside and the italian store section is fun to peruse or perhaps purchase items. The staff is super friendly. The Pappardelle sauce (beef, pork, cheese and maybe some red sauce) was amazing. It was truly mouth watering. When the owner came by and asked how we liked it I said "it was so good I could lick the plate" He said, "It's perfect for sopping up with our bread but we are out of bread". It was 5:30 pm. Seems weird to be out of bread.....I don't think he was referring to the foccacia but maybe he was. Also, why mention the bread if you have none to offer???? I like the way they offer chilled complimentary bottled water. What was not so great: VERY limited menu. Only 2 pasta items, absolutely no vegetables or salad offered or to be seen. I think some nice roasted veggies or a salad would be good to offer. Portion size was okay but small for the price. The marinera sauce was fine but not amazing. It was tasty enough but compared to the Pappardelle sauce it was boring. Also, I found it a little too spicy for my palate. The cannoli looked tasty but we didn't order it. Both my friend and I were hungry later in the evening because the portions weren't that big and there were no veggies to add to the dinner and the Bucatini had no protein. The menu has not changed since it opened so I don't know if they will eventually offer different items or not. No need to return unless the menu changes or unless one has a hankering for the Parppadelle sauce or a cannoli. The prices on the take home marinera sauce was really high $17. There is not a ton of seating. I know they are new so hopefullly they will get some of the kinks worked out and add some more items to their menu or at least vary it. I read more

The food is very good, but the pricing and experience make this a hard no for anyone bringing kids, unless you are willing to spend close to $100 for basic pasta and beverages. We heard a lot about Pastaria Vivi since their opening a few weeks ago and decided to swing by and give it a try. We weren't disappointed!!! We got there around 1:30 on a Sunday and there was a line of about 5 people in front of us. The menu board had several slots, unfortunately only 2 types of pastas were available. Pappardelle and ravioli. We went with the Pappardelle and a side of their Focaccia bread. First the focaccia came out warm and amazingly fresh. There was a side of olive oil to use, but the bread was too amazing to not eat by itself. Next came the pasta bolognese. The pasta was cooked perfectly, with a beautiful texture, and the sauce was spot on with a taste and flavor that reminded me of being back in Northern Italy. We truly enjoyed the meal and look forward to going back to enjoy some of their other dishes. I love supporting a worthy local Business! My group of 10 arrived about 10:45 am. It was everyone's first visit! Brandon, the owner was very appreciative. The store /counter is curated beautifully! If I need a gift in future I would definitely return here. It is inspiring to watch the fresh pasta being made as you walk in! The menu is very small, but do not let that deter you! We tried everything on the menu! The pasta's were cooked to perfection, just the right bite! Finally figured out the ordering structure of this exciting new pasta place, and they knocked my socks off. This shop is primarily geared for take-out of either pre-cooked or ready to cook pasta dishes. Each week, they offer 3 entrees only, with a choice of four appetizers and one dessert. This week was a luscious beef and pork bolognese on papardelle, spinach ravioli, and a pasta with red pesto tomato sauce spiked with crunchy almonds slivers (my personal favorite). All three dishes were show-stoppers, and worthy of a come-back visit. Although the initial ordering and communications hiccups were a rough start, once you know that it's not a traditional ordering system, it all works really well. I am currently giving mixed reviews...came in their first week open. It was a busy day for our family and we were excited to try the new place. Our opinion: We ordered some pastas with different sauces, focaccia, and cannoli. Here is the rating to get us to 3 stars: Pasta by itself: 5 stars and cooked perfectly. Cannoli: 5 stars. Crisp shell, good cream, high quality chocolate on the ends. Focaccia: 4-5 stars. Soft, pillowy, good flavor (but read on) Sauces: 3 stars. They were good, but there is nothing that stood out about them. They were forgettable and prices are high for not being "wowed". Experience: 2-3 stars. Okay so this is where I have a bad taste in my mouth. The experience started off okay. Staff was nice when ordering. It was a bit later in the day. When I ordered my food, I was told they were out of the focaccia. That was disappointing because I heard good things about it, but hey, the place just opened; I get it. We sit down and wait for our food. I see the table who ordered before us got focaccia. They must have gotten the last order. Tables are close enough together that we can hear conversations and I hear the family speaking to the owner and inquiring about the owner's background, etc. It was nice that the owner was making rounds and greeting customers. It wasn't very busy, so it was smart to be personable. It was obvious that the other table did not have a connection to the owners. My family ate our meal and finished after the other table. The other party left and then a new family took their table. We had probably been there for 20 plus minutes at that point. I see a waiter drop off the new guests' food after a bit. The waiter drops some focaccia off and says something like, "here is some focaccia for you." The table thanks him. As the waiter passes, I asked him, "I thought you didn't have anymore focaccia?" He said something along the lines of , "yes, we don't have anymore for sale, we had some aside to give out." My face must have said it all, so the waiter awkwardly asked if I wanted some? I said that we did want to try some. He said he would get it for me. He then came back and asked me to go pay. I went in and paid the $3.50 or whatever the cost. So, it sounds like the restaurant was saving some focaccia to charm certain tables and we didn't qualify. As mentioned earlier, it was a busy family day and we probably looked a bit that way. In addition, we were very clearly displaying our minority religion and my son is black. Not sure if either of those factors played a part, but it was clear that the table there right before us had focaccia on the table and the table that ordered about 20 minutes after us had focaccia. The waiter made it clear that they did not have anymore "for sale". We were left with the understanding that we didn't fit the "comp" qualifications to get some at all. After sharing that there was some that they were giving away, he then asked me to pay the $3.50 or whatever it was (not a ton of money). For this low price, and after it was clear others got it free, it was distasteful to ask me to pay for the 4 pieces of bread. I am well traveled and a professional (even if I didn't look it that day) and I know that comps happen all of the time. It's business and I am cool with that. However, the way to "treat" a guest is for one table not to feel different than the other. If I were running the business, and wanted to charm only certain tables, I would comp a cannoli or something that wasn't sold out so that it wouldn't be obvious to those not on the "charm" list. If I were running the business, I would not have charged me after the waiter shared other tables got it free. (This was far more insulting, to be honest). We paid a lot of money for our meal. I am left with a bad taste in my mouth. I have tried to think of other possibilities for what happened, hoping that we were not judged for not displaying our wealth or discriminated against for our race and religion, but I am left feeling that we were. Every customer should leave an establishment feeling important. I left feeling very uncomfortable. read more

The terrible experience at Pastaria Vivi is my fault because I didn't wait. I can't review the food as this want to be restaurant was out of Bucatini pasta and we were told we would have to wait until the freshly made pasta dried. The lady in front of me asked for meatballs that she purchased the previous week and was told that meatballs would not be available until the following week. To make our visit even more frustrating, at 12:30 (lunchtime), there was not any pasta available to order and the pasta that was visible on the counter was not for sale because it was being dried before it could be served. I hope that this business did not disappoint any ladies on Mother's Day. If you are not satisfied with the service at Pastaria Vivi, Rosanna's Pasta Shop, two blocks away in the Von's Center, which has been family owned and operated for several generations, will please you with their great Italian food and excellent service. read more

I stopped in yesterday after the weekend grand-opening. A really great shop with lots of tempting products to buy and a great vibe. I bought two orders of the Paparadelle for take-out dinner and an order of foccacia. The flavors of the pasta dish were delicious and the foccacia was one of the best we've had. Our only complaint is there wasn't enough sauce on the pasta. Next time I will know to ask for a good serving of the sauce as it would have made a big difference.
