My friend and I came to Pastalini for a weekend dinner after attending a nearby event. I actually remember eating at Pastalini years ago (I think I was literally in elementary school), but it's been so long since I've returned. I did not remember it being in a random, unassuming strip mall. Parking was easy, and it wasn't crowded at all, even at 6:30 PM. Since it's a customize-your-own-pasta experience, I ended up choosing the bowtie pasta with vodka sauce and a medley of vegetables. It also came with three yummy bread rolls! To be honest, the vodka sauce tasted like regular tomato sauce. I also thought they had rigatoni as one of the pasta options, but it actually looked more like penne... Food-wise, it's really just okay. Solid, affordable, and filling for sure, but I can't say it's anything crazy. The ambiance isn't that great, either. But to be frank, the most memorable part of my experience was the wonderful customer experience! The staff were so kind and friendly, even making small talk with us. She was also patient as I powered through my indecision. Her compliments made my day! So overall, Pastalini is a place for a no-frills, quick, cheap eat. This place is like a Subway, but for pasta, pizza, calzones, and salads--you get to build everything exactly how you want it. If you don't feel like creating your own, they also have a preset menu, which makes ordering quick and easy. On days when you have decision making fatigue, I'm glad they have a offer a preset menu. There's free parking and seating both inside and outside. There is a high tops area and several tv's. The first time we ate here, my son was already asking when we could come back so his brothers could try it too. He even asked again the very next day, but they're closed on Sundays. We were able to come back on a Friday night with our other son, and he really enjoyed his meal as well. For our first time, I tried the preset baked pepperoni pasta (formally number 4) and really enjoyed it. It came with rigatoni, marinara, ricotta, and mozzarella. My youngest son and husband created their own pasta dishes, which they both liked. It's nice having that option to customize or trying the preset menu. We also tried the buffalo pizza. My husband and I enjoyed it--it had a thin crust and a good amount of chicken meat. The only thing that would make it even better for me is having a side of blue cheese dressing. It would be helpful if the items were labeled. It could show pictures of the items yo make it easier for kids to order. Also offering a kid size combo. A smaller portion with bread a drink. Came in for a quick lunch on a Thursday and was very happy with the service and food quality. We built our own pasta bowl for around $11. It comes with your choice of pasta and sauce with 3 toppings. The noodles were cooked well and the sauce had a lot of flavor. We had double mushroom and mozzarella for our toppings, but there are meat options if you want to add some protein to your bowl. It was cooked right in front of us on a pan and it was ready in about 5 minutes. This is a great place to dine in if you're on a time crunch because the food comes out so fast. My coworkers are obsessed with this place so we order it quite a bit for our lunches. I'm honestly not super impressed with this place. The following is what I have tried from here thus far: - Super Spinach Salad with Grilled Chicken (no dressing): decent overall, but it was just too wet from the artichokes. Chicken was cooked well but not seasoned - Veggie Calzone: best thing I've had from here by far! I used Costco's pesto sauce to dip it in because the marinara from here is horrible. It was soo much better with the pesto. It would've been perfect if they actually cooked the calzone to a nice crispy crust instead of what they gave me. Thankfully, I had it as leftovers and could stick it in my oven at home. - Shrimp Gnocchi (sub pesto for marinara): unfortunately, they did not sub for the pesto and I'm not a fan of their marinara at all. It's watery and flavorless. There were 3-4 pieces of shrimp only. The gnocchi itself was unimpressive and the veggies they had in there added absolutely nothing to the dish. They should focus on correctly making the orders since multiple dishes have come messed up. A lot of my coworkers have dietary issues and can't eat it if it arrives messed up. read more

They also give you a big portion of food and I would say it was worth the price. The pasta is made in front of you and everything tastes really good. They also give you garlic bread with the pasta! My boyfriend got a calzone and we both had our jaws drop when the employee told us the regular calzone is the size of the photo on the menu. For the price point it seemed waaay too good to be true! I love all of the options here, so many toppings and I was having trouble choosing between some of the sauces and the person putting together my pasta recommended combining the pesto and sun dried tomato sauce.
