My go to pasta spot at UTC! Pasta is made fresh daily and dishes made to order. Looks like they added a couple of new dishes since I was last here: creamy mushroom and sausage and pink vodka salmon. Yum to both!
Food- We ordered the Cacio E Pepe with fettuccine noodles. Pasta was insane. I can't believe this was made in a food court. It was so good, the noodles were a perfect soft al dente, and the portion size for the price was reasonable. I would suggest adding freshly grated Parmesan to the pasta for a better flavor, and maybe more pepper :) Service- We ordered online, and it wasn't ready by the time we picked up our order which was fine. We understand that good food takes time to cook. Ambiance- This place is located in the middle of the UTC Westfield Food court. Plenty of seating around. Menu is easy to navigate. Overall, really great food that could have some minor improvements, but I'm really impressed!
Omg I went here not knowing how delicious this would be, my kid wanted pasta and we got the kids plate which is really big enough for an adult. It was fresh pasta made to perfection freshly made I will return to the UTC mall only for this place because I must try more items. The chef was the sweetest great customer service, this place deserves its own restaurant.

You can tell that the pasta is not of the dried variety. It had a nice, chewy texture. However, my carbonara with spaghetti was very salty due to the guanciale. I would try a different sauce next time. The tiramisu wasn't too sweet and had a soft texture which I liked. I've seen enough Top Chef to know that pasta is flour, egg, and water so I'm not sure why it's always so expensive. The price point was cheaper here, though, because it is in the food court.
Amazing Italian food in a mall?! WTF? Yup, I'm still shocked and amazed even after several days to process it all. The carbonara and pesto dishes crafted here invoked nostalgia of my brief time traipsing around Rome, Florence and Venice so many many years ago. Quite Honestly these dishes tasted so good to me that they should have demanded to be brought out by a waiter on real plates and be paired with house wine. This is something you'd expect to be served in a trattoria, not at a mall! My only regret is that we didn't order more food. It was THAT good to me. And judging by all of the other mall patrons I saw scattered around the food court, many would agree that the food here is delightfully amazing.
I love Italian food and I can be very picky with my stars for this type of cuisine but De Nunno easily gets 5 stars from me! I've eaten here multiple times at UTC and I've never been disappointed. My go to is Pesto because it is my favorite Italian pasta flavor. I also always somehow like to gauge an Italian restaurant by their pesto! I love De Nunno's pesto it has depth of flavor, not too salty, but still flavorful. The creamy texture is just right and with a dash of Parmesan I can eat the entire big bowl! I personally like to get fusili because I feel it holds the pasta sauce well. Today I was very pleased to see a kids menu with more affordable prices! We got the Parmesan and butter flavor for our almost 2 year old son and he loved it! And although they say it is for simple palates the butter taste is definitely multi dimensional. My husband and I ended up eating a lot of the pasta too and took home the rest and will happily feed the leftovers to our son. The workers there were very nice, I asked for water and they automatically charged me for bottled water rather than a free cup of tap water but they are one of the more fancy shops in the food court. The cashier even hand delivered the bowls to me to our table. I'll be back De Nunno! A little pricey but worth it! If you love Italian give this place a chance you won't be disappointed.

I don't really expect much from mall food courts, but this place is oh so good. It keeps me coming back lol this is high end delicious Italian food and the best part is you don't have to pay high end sit down restaurant prices. I got the rigatoni bolognese and it's so so delicious. The food is FRESH. They make the pasta from scratch and sauces from scratch. It's made to order too so comes out popping hot. The pasta was Al dente and cooked to perfection. I got it with focaccia bread and I'm so glad I did. The focaccia bread was crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on this inside.complimented my pasta perfectly. There's a little bit of a wait since everything is made to order but it's so worth it.
I'm sorry but this has to be one of the absolute worst pasta dishes I've ever had. I hate to bash on a small business but charging $24 for carbonara made with bacon in a food court is insane. I tried giving it away but everyone that tried it had the same reaction I did. This needs to be removed from the menu.
If you're in UTC and want to eat something nicer in between stores, De Nunno is a fabulous option. They offer a selection of fresh pastas with a variety of sauces at a decent price and optional toppings that are a bit more expensive. There is a tad bit of a wait as they make dishes to order, but it isn't long at all and the service was super charming. I left with two bowls of pasta and four adorable chocolate truffles in my pocket. There are plenty of vegetarian options and overall is a cute budget date choice. Conchiglie Amatriciana w/ Burrata (4.25/5): The tomato sauce was super fresh and the sweetness of the tomato was very prominent. The noodles themselves were a super fun texture and had all sorts of fun crevices to hold the sauce and bits of salty, savory guanciale. I personally would recommend the burrata to add some creaminess without being super heavy, but I'm also a sucker for cheese. Fettuccine Creamy Mushroom & Sausage (3.5/5): The mushroom sauce was an awesome balance of creaminess and earthiness, but the homemade Italian sausage was oddly bland. It just tasted like plain ground meat as opposed to sausage, which was a bit disappointing.

De Nunos is located in the food court at UTC Mall. They are located near the entrance. There's a process when you order. You start with your pasta of choice. Then you select your sauce. I chose fettuccine and the creamy mushroom and sausage sauce. The flavor was a little on the bland side. I guess I could e asked for a little more salt.

Such a hidden gem! I stepped inside the food court at UTC with no expectations, and this place just caught my attention right away. Fresh food prepped daily, multiple options to choose from, everything on the menu sounds amazing. I got a Creamy Mushroom and Sausage, add a side of meatballs, with a tiramisu. All of them deserve a 10/10. - Meatballs: Super soft, sauce is amazing, would melt in your mouth. - Creamy Mushroom and Sausage: I got spaghetti, but would love to try a different kind next time. The sauce is very good on its own though. - Lastly, tiramisu: THE BEST, I have never had a better tiramisu in San Diego. 100% would come back. read more
Their food is surprisingly good! I was skeptical since they are located at the UTC mall court! I love their prosciutto sandwiches and their pastas are made fresh! You can even watch them make their own pastas! The spicy carbonara with shrimp is one of my favorites, but you can't go wrong with any of their options! Was at the UTC mall for lunch and stopped by De Nunno with my buddy for a quick bite to eat. Ended up choosing the spicy arrabbiata sauce with fusilli pasta and chicken for protein. The food was ready in about five minutes and was absolutely delicious for a fast food Italian spot. The service size was generous and the pasta was cooked al dente and steaming hot. The sauce had a nice flavor and kick to it, only complaint was they went a bit skimpy on the amount of chicken they added. All in all a quick and tasty meal at the mall. read more

De Nunno has opened as one of the newest vendors in the Westfield UTC Food Court. They have a stand-alone, center setup in the middle of the court with no adjacent neighbors. The concept is build-your-own pasta bowl with five "Shapes and Grains", five traditional sauces, three signature sauces, and extras in the form of specialty cheeses, proteins, and veggies as choices. Basic bowls without any extras ranged from $14 to $18. The uploaded food photos looked enticing with the ones containing conchiglie as the noodle type that caught my attention. The shape resembled a shell which is how this pasta name was derived. I paired the conchiglie with the signature Shrimp and Zucchini with Saffron Sauce to make up my order. Fresh organic zucchini squash, saffron, mascarpone, shallot, almond slices, and extra virgin olive oil were mixed with four shrimp in the bowl. After about 10 minutes, my name was called so I could return to the service counter to pick up my food. The contents were served in a shallow take-out bowl. The saffron sauce provided a bright yellow color to the conchiglie. The shrimp had a good size to them. Perhaps a bit more pasta would have been appropriate for the price. I do like how De Nunno gives the food court a fast-casual Italian option with made to order items and does not rely on heat lamps to keep bulk quantities of food warm. read more
With noodles & co now closed where else would you get your fix of pasta at UTC? At De Nunno ofc! I came here on a Monday with my mom for a late lunch and we were impressed. I noticed that they had fresh basil plants which was exciting bcuz I love fresh basil. We ordered the fig almond salad, beet pasta (vegan) and the ragu--all which were super delicious!! I was actually taken aback by how good the beet pasta was, I wasn't expecting it to be good but it was! Especially with the pistachios added on top! It's a unique pasta sauce that's very creamy and just works! The fig & almond salad had grapefruit slices and a nice fig balsamic vinegar that added a lovely tangy flavor. All their pastas are made fresh in house and u can see them make it while you're walking around the food court which is so cool!! I also saw one of the workers grated fresh cheese. Also the food didn't take long to get either! I think it took maybe 5-7 min from the time I ordered to get our meal. Overall quick & delicious food that tastes very fresh! Def would be back ! We both were full after our meals so portion sizing here is good. read more
A chain restaurant that served pastas recently left the mall. There really hasn't been anything of quality for pasta at this food court.... Until now. Please welcome De Nunno to the food court at UTC I'd seen signage and walls for quite sometime after much of the world had re-opened from Covid. To my surprise on a recent visit, the walls were gone, steam could be seen flowing from an open kitchen and employees were bustling around behind the counter. I've visited all the other restaurants in the mall so far so thought I'd give them a try. Siena was working behind the counter/ register calling out an order for another guest to pick up. She greeted me and patiently waited for my order. After browsing the menu boards, I chose the rigatoni with pesto sauce and added shrimp and zucchini. Felix soon got to work and within a few minutes, my order was ready. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. Lightly seasoned and not overdone. The pasta was so fresh, you could taste the difference from something that had been sitting on a shelf packaged for weeks if not months. Great flavor for a fast casual spot in a mall food court. Love Pastas and so happy to find a fresh pasta place right in UTC (Within the Dining Terrace AKA Food Court) :) Tried Pesto Alla Genovese as well as Cacio e pepe. It was good, not 5 star and almost a 3.5 but what pushes the stars forward is the pasta. The right texture, selection and bounce is what makes this place 4 star. A bit $$$ for a food court spot with no service but hey it is fresh pasta. I'm not sure I would return even though I gave it 4 stars. I got the vodka salmon sauce and the salmon honestly had a fishy taste to it still--meaning it was not as fresh. For $20 with tax and tip that was not so great. I love De Nunno in Utc Mall food court while you order your fresh pasta bowls you can watch people Ife skate, it just amazes me how you can get quick fresh pasta and it has great quality, I love the carbonara and I also love the Burrata cheese too, so many different sauces, and I just want to try them all, the staff is great too and the cook is fast read more

Wow! I'm a big foodie. I do cook and have worked in very high end restaurants in my past. I will say for fast "kiosk" Italian place in the food court, I am pretty blown away! Although not the prettiest plate, the taste, texture and overall experience was more than above par and would have brought close to $40.00 in an upscale Italian restaurant. I'll be back when I need another fix. read more

I can't believe this is in the middle of a mall food court! De Nunno actually makes their pastas and sauces fresh every day, and you can customize it any way you like! They even have vegetarian (vegan if you don't get cheese) and gluten-free options. It's fun to watch them make your dish through the window too. We decided on 2 different types of pasta: Conchiglie with a signature creamy mushroom and sausage sauce, and a traditional spaghetti caccio e peppe with shrimp & burrata added on. Both of these were so good! The texture of the pasta is amazing - al dente with a nice bouncy chewy mouth-feel that you get only from the freshest pasta. The sauces were so flavorful, and the burrata was also so nice and fresh and creamy too. We definitely need to head back there to try more! read more
