Lovely restaurant- hidden gem! Went here for restaurant week for the first time. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall next to a gas station. Upon entering the restaurant, the ambiance is warm and inviting. You are immediately whisked off to the Italian coast. The interior was really captivating. We ordered Caesar salad, Fritto misto, cacio e Pepe, ragu bolognese. For dessert we had cannoli and limoncello cake. Everything was really tasty. Service was also great as well. We also heard some Italian speaking staff, so this place is the real deal! They even have a cheese wheel pasta which perhaps we will try next time. I actually found this Italian restaurant really good! Theres a lot of Italian restaurants in San Diego, but I particularly enjoyed this one. Their interior is bright and lovely, and the alcoholic drinks were very good - especially the spritz with rosemary. The pasta is very very very good. It's not salty at all, which I honestly find super rare in San Diego. I don't prefer salty pasta so this was def welcomed! The food and staff at Amuri are wonderful. As someone who has lived in Italy for a couple of years, I am impressed with the flavors and presentation. The bruschetta was very good, and the pomodoro is traditional in taste. The crispy buratta cheese was yummy. The espresso martini was one of the best I've had in the area. I had the cheese wheel pasta of the day, because that is the reason that I came. It is very rich. The version that I had was a fettuccine pasta with sausage and mushroom. The dish was loaded with sausage and mushroom, and it was too much in my opinion. I would've actually preferred that the sausage and mushroom was scaled back and there was a little more pasta. The dish itself had a really great flavor. Again, just super rich. My friend and I commented that we should have split it. The decor is pretty. I feel that more could be done though. I wish that there were two sections when you walk in. To the left could be the side for families and small children playing video games and watching their technology (nearest to the restrooms). When you walk into the right, it would be amazing if the restaurant would leave this section for adults only that are on a date or girls night out, etc. For the price point, it feels like it should be more of an upscale experience. It's not a place I would bring small children to. It's fine if people want to do that, I just do not want to sit by them (or listen to whatever they are loudly watching on iPhones). The additional comment would be that I wish that their window frosting went up in the entirety of the window. I really enjoyed admiring the mural on the other side of the restaurant that I couldn't get a good picture of. It was like looking out of a window with beautiful weather at a scenic spot. Service was prompt, it wasn't too busy when we went, it was between lunch and dinner rush. The server was very knowledgeable about the food and very in depth with the chefs specials. The Fiori Di Zucca was hands down our favorite dish, with sauce that we used as salad dressing and as something to dip the fried zucchini blossoms in. Celebrated my birthday here....been wanting to go here for quite sometime but have been busy. As soon as I walked in, I was impressed with the interior design. Just came back from Europe and it reminds me of how beautiful this place is, especially the tiles. Didn't know what to order and the waiter was very helpful. He recommended 3 things on the menu and we got two of them. We ordered the Fritos Misto, the Papperdelle Ragu and added meatball, Linguine Vongole, and Norma with an added meatball (Norma has eggplants). Everything that we ordered was awesome! Amuri is tucked away in a quiet part of north east Mira Mesa bordering Scripps Ranch. We came for a weekday dinner and tried their "Date Night menu" which is available on Monday and Tuesdays only. For $59 you get an appetizer to share, two entrees, and a dessert to share. We ordered the calamari, Bolognese Entree, Spicy Vodka Pasta entree, and the Tiramisu Dessert. The Bolognese was the star of the show for me, delicious thick home made pappardelle in a deep rich meat sauce. The tiramisu was a special treat because they construct it fresh in front of you, pouring the filling over the lady fingers and finishing off with the cocoa dust. Happy hour at Amuri is a wonderful option if you live over by Mercy Road. Their happy hour runs until 5pm, and trust their drinks (one of the rare places i have seen a limoncello spritz) are worth a try. We enjoyed the complimentary bread with the meatballs (comes with 3 thick meatballs and a well made marinara) and asked to split the vodka pasta. Amari takes you on a journey to the Amalfi coast - the decor is beautiful and paints a picture of all the iconic images of the region. Food was delicious. Tried the arancini - really good but could be served hotter(temperature was lukewarm). Carbonara was delicious. The pasta was a touch too al dente for me. Luckily we had done our Yelp research and saw this place had great reviews. PROS: Stepping into the restaurant, you'd think you were in Europe! Absolutely gorgeous atmosphere, kind and attentive wait staff. The garlic bread is some of the best i've had, I think I would come back just for the bread, drinks and salad. The pasta was also cooked to perfection. CONS: The Cacio e Pepe was very saucy and not like the traditional cacio I am used to. It had good flavor but too overwhelming and rich for me. Arrived at 11:30 AM with a party of 7. First time here since the change from Pernicano's. It seemed like we were the first customers of the day. The new interior is beautiful and colorful. Unfortunately early arrival meant bread was baked and specials were not available. We immediately ordered appetizers of Frutto Misto, Flori di Zucca, insalada caprese and Involtini di Melanzanev all were delicious and shared by our group. Main courses were Ravioli Di Pesce, Linguine Vongole, Salmone, Cioppino and Pollo Parmagiana. All were delicious except the Cioppino was lacking in some seasonings. The glasses of Bianca Della Casa were refreshing at $12 each. The only other complaint was the two of the dishes were chipped. I was unaware of this till after we left. Wow! What a great community gem in our neighborhood. This authentic Italian restaurant sits unknowingly in a small strip mall with ample parking. The interior is so warm, fresh, welcoming and reminds us of being in Italy. It was a very popular place among locals. The waiter was from Sicily and gave us amazing recommendations on their daily specials. He was friendly, helpful and service was exceptional. The restaurant serves beer and wine. Of course we stared with an Aperol spritz. Crafted by the bartender expertly. Yum! The food was outstanding with homemade pasta, hand created sauces, and much more. We loved their misto frito which is a fried calamari and shrimp appetizer. Delicious!! The seafood special with lobster was heavenly and had great flavor. I came here with my friends during Easter and had a very positive experience here. The restaurant was still very new during our visit, but they operated smoothly. The pastas and flat breads were all delish. The bread was incredible. I ordered the Pappardelle Ragu and absolutely loved it! Excellent return experience. Nino is a super server... And remembered me from the last time I came, and even what I ordered! My Hugo spritz was delicious. Music on the patio was a little too loud at first but then they adjusted it for us. The complementary bread comes with oregano sprinkled, so I need to remember for the next time to ask for it without it. (Love olive oil, don't like oregano). My sweetie enjoyed the classic bruschetta and then a grilled steak dish. I got the pistachio pasta which I got last time. It is delicious and not something you can get everywhere. Nino and everyone else was super nice. Keep in mind that on busy days, they get super busy. We came the night before Mother's Day, and they said they had 100 reservations for lunch and 100 for dinner for the next day! But tonight it was super chill and not as crowded as the last time we came on a Saturday night. We ordered cannoli for dessert for my sweetie's birthday, and it was very nice to see on the check that they comped it. Very delicious cannoli, with good quality chocolate chips. The only thing is that you would ask for it next time without raspberry sauce. It might look pretty, but it tastes more delicious just with vanilla, the chips and the shell. Experienced an excellent meal here, enjoying two of my favorite italian dishes. The location is a bit odd but there's parking and the picturesque interior makes up for the nondescript exterior. Food: The baked eggplant appetizer (INVOLTINI DI MELANZANE) came fresh out the oven literally still bubbling (!) and was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The seasoned complimentary bread for the table works great to sop up any extra tomato sauce and I recommend getting the side of garlic bread to accompany any pasta entrees. The Spicy Rigatoni sauce was lush and silky on fresh al dente pasta that somehow stayed hot in its serving dish throughout dinner. Our service was great and the space is beautiful. I came here for a small gathering with a group fur easter lunch. Parking is ready and the weren't too packed. First thing I noticed was how adorable the decor is inside. It's decorated to make you feel like you are in a restaurant in Italy. Lots of cute photo ops and beautiful painted walls. Some of the ladies had a great time taking photos. The restaurant had their regular menu and a special pre fixe menu. I decided to order the pre fixe and got the eggplant burrata - this was served foood and it just wasn't what i expected. I didn't really finish it. I also ordered the lobster ravioli which looked like a small portion but was surprisingly filling. It also had a great flavor, not too fishy. The sauce is a cream sauce with fresh tomates. For dessert I chose the cannoli, since it's a classic Italian dessert. It was very good, and creamy, and had chocolate drizzled on it with chocolate chips. Definitely a solid end up my meal. The service was excellent and the staff went above and beyond to help explain things, check on us, and even take pictures of our group. My party of three came on a Wednesday night at 6 PM. We had a reservation but didn't need it since the restaurant wasn't entirely full. Parking is no problem, this restaurant is located on the exit of Mercy Rd by the Chevron gas station. Service is friendly, albeit a bit slow at times. Our waitress had forgotten get us bread and our waters were not refilled towards the end of the night. We decided to eat here since my friend had come here previously with a larger party and reccomeneded it. I was also surprised to hear an Italian resturant open up in Mira Mesa. The food however, was subpar. My ratings are below: Antipasti Zuppa di cozze e vongole - Mussels, clams, spicy tomato sauce: (1/5) The shell fish is frozen, not fresh. It has a strong seafood flavor that isn't the fresh brine you typically get. Both mussels and clams were overcooked and chewy. The bread it came with was too doughy. Carpaccio di manzo - Tenderlion carpaccio with arugala salad (1/5): Just slightly thick beef slices with a hard wedge of lemon and a sprinkle of argula. Pasta Pappardelle Ragu (4/5): This was the best dish of the night. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the ragu was nice and beefy. Docked one point because it needed more salt. Asiago Gnocchi - Gnocchi stuffed with asiago cheese in a creamy pesto sauce (3/5): A heavy and oily dish. We added sausage to the dish as our protein. It was just ok. Overall, food was lackluster and a bit underwhelming overall, nothing was exciting for my palette. Glad we stopped by but I don't believe I'll find myself back here. read more

This is a fairly new Italian restaurant in our area, having opened about three months ago. I understand it has a sister restaurant in La Mesa. We've enjoyed lunch here, and we came last Sunday for their Grand Opening party. The food here is quite good, authentic Sicilian/Southern Italian. The Lunch Menu has a favorite dish of mine on it -- Uova in Purgatorio (Eggs in Purgatory). This dish consists of three poached eggs in a spicy marinara sauce with melted mozzarella and green onions, served with grilled bread. (4/5 $18) They have a wine and beer license, but no liquor. So ... cocktails are made with wine-based substitutions for any liquor. Their selection of wines by the glass is nice, and the complete wine list is respectable. The dining room is decorated in blue, white and lemons. There's a small covered patio for outdoor dining, albeit with parking lot views. Service has been very good. Went to Amuri's grand opening event during which they set up a small buffet table with meatballs, arrancini, and bruschetta. They also offered happy hour prices on cocktails, beer and house wine. Very nice of you Amuri. Thank you. Of course, the place was mobbed thanks to complimentary bites, I guess, so the food didn't last long, but the full regular menu was available which one could order as usual at regular prices. Ratings: Meatballs--3 Bruschetta--3 Arrancini--4 HEADS UP: I had ordered a bellini, which looked and tasted odd. When I asked my server about this, he explained that they don't have their liquor license yet, so they make their cocktails with wine based "liqueurs". The cocktail menu doesn't mention this. Keep it in mind when considering a cocktail. Amuri has some dishes that are very nicely prepared and a very nice wine list. I'll return another time to try more items with the expectation that I'll be able to raise my rating once the printed menu reflects the true nature of the drinks being served. read more

Loved this restaurant. Service was great. I really wanted the cheese wheel pasta and it didn't disappoint. So cheesy and so tasty. You could watch them mix your food in the cheese wheel which was really cool. The tiramisu was also unique with pouring the marscapone cream on top of the lady fingers. It is in a random spot so don't be fooled. Only disliked the seating. It has some Velcro where the cushions couldn't even hold anymore so the cushions against the wall kept falling. Had a great dinner on the outside deck! We started with the arancini and artichoke--both were excellent. The arancini are easy to share if you cut them up (pretty big saffron rice balls). For my main, I had the spicy vodka rigatoni with chicken. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce definitely brought the promised kick. Perhaps they could have added a bit more chicken to the dish. The one knock was the complimentary toasted sourdough served before the meal; it was lightly pre-dipped in oil but lacked flavor. I just wish they had given a serving spoon to scoop up all the sauce. For my entree I got the Linguine Vongole, clams in olive oil, garlic and white wine. When they brought it to the table they shaved some Parmesan cheese on top. I know they say not to mix seafood and cheese but I think it needs the cheese to thicken the sauce and adds a lot of flavor. The flavor was perfect the clam and garlic came thru. The serving size was generous, the noodles were a little past Al dente maybe because they were cooked in the sauce after, not mushy by any means; Still it was a perfect dish. They do offer pasta tossed in a cheese wheel which is made in a display area. The type of pasta changes so you'll have to ask the server about it. Service was friendly and we were offered a choice of water and given bread as we were sat. I much rather go here than fight the chaos that is little Italy. Amuri Italian Cuisine is located in a less busy area of Mira Mesa as it's behind a fuel station in the Canyonhill Center. My friend and I recently visited for dinner after hearing positive feedback about this locally owned small business. Parking was plentiful as the plaza did not have a heavy traffic volume. The inside of the suite was spacious with a seating capacity of probably around 80, including the central bar that had seven spots. A couple of parmesan cheese wheels were on display at a counter near the kitchen. We didn't order any pasta made from the wheel although it looked enticing. The one-page menu sheet featured Sicilian food with the typical categories that you will find at an Italian restaurant. A basket containing complimentary pieces of bread doused with olive oil was provided while we decided on what to order. The two of us split the Arancine as an appetizer. Three deep fried saffron rice balls filled with beef ragu rested on a base of tomato sauce. The size was slightly larger than a golf ball with a thick crust. We also shared a Brasato which was braised short ribs served with polenta and glaze sauce. I liked that polenta was used as the carb instead of mashed or whipped potatoes that you normally see elsewhere. The boneless cut of meat was tender and flavorful. Each of us also selected a pasta dish to round out our meal. I chose the Pappardelle Ragu which used slow cooked beef for the hearty sauce. The wide noodles were cooked just right. A little larger portion for the $25 cost would have been perfect. The waiter provided consistent attention and service to our table. For the price and quality of the food we tried at Amuri, I gave our dinner a four star rating. read more

The artichoke appetizer dish had way too much lemon and that was all I could taste. Very sour and salty so it was a disappointment and I wouldn't recommend.
