Everyone is really friendly and not fake friendly like sometimes you see. It's always super crowded, especially with people bringing their laptops taking up tables all day, which is kind of a bummer but when you can get a spot, it's awesome. Cappuccinos and pastries are yummy. Definitely one of my favorite spots. read more

This was my first time trying Better Buzz, and I got their iced vanilla latte -- and it was fantastic! The flavor was smooth, refreshing, and exactly what I was hoping for. I really loved the open-air layout of the café; it's bright, airy, and makes for a great spot to work or just relax. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, which made the experience even better. It's also a nice place to hang out and catch up with friends while enjoying downtown Encinitas. Overall, I had a great visit and will definitely be coming back to try more drinks and enjoy the atmosphere again! read more

Love how innovative Bette Buzz is with their coffee. From Turkish lattes to horchata lattes, you can have a little taste of cultural coffee aspects. The vanilla latte is also incredible even though it's just an americano with a vanilla syrup. But the sourdough was the gateway drug for me. It's impossible to go into the Prager Bros bake shops and avoid seeing something even more additive. Coffélier ..

If you like drinking GOOD coffee while being MILDLY MOIST and quite COLD, then this is the coffee shop for you! (Further review below...) I am the worlds first Coffélier™ (pron: Coffee--lee-a). Think sommelier but for coffee. I've been severely addicted since I was 12 when my dad offered me a black drip coffee and I've never looked back. Considering my coffee palate has been in development for quite a bit longer than most, I consider myself reliable to review coffee. One thing is always true though, I never review stores with more than 100 locations. At that point, that would be as futile as reviewing every McDonalds, not worth your or my time. We know what we are getting with those stores. COFFEE: 3.5 /5 stars Bourbon-y. I know coffee should not taste like that, and a lot of people don't like bourbon, but I can't help it. That is the word that sprung to my mind at first sip. It's likely incorrect, but really, this coffee is a more complex flavor than I was anticipating. In traditional terms, I would describe this roast as far closer to a straight "medium" as opposed to "dark" or "light". Quite good coffee, most people would not think twice about it, and I am sure it will pair nicely with anything else you would normally have your coffee with (cream, sugar, etc) CUPS: 2.5 /5 stars - average My Americano was served in a plastic "sippy" cup - straws were available. I was -not- asked if it was "for-here" or "to-go". My personal preference is to be served in glass/ceramic/something not plastic, but alas, this cup was of good quality and up to normal, average standard. ATMOSPHERE: 2.0 /5 stars - It was cold. As in 58 degrees. Inside. This was a typical cold and wet Encinitas overcast morning. And yet, despite this, the store has huge-full-opening windows along its frontage... these were wide-open. It was cold. Even in my long sleeves, shoes, and pants... it was cold. If these were not open, the score would instead be a solid 4/5 stars. The store is large and spacious, with lovely adornments and accoutrements. But again, good luck staying here if you need to actually get some work done, or god-forbid you are a woman. My girlfriend would freeze in here and then be annoyed that we came lol However, service was extremely fast and quite friendly. PRICE: 2.5/5 Stars - Standard Pricing/Average Score My Americano was $4.85 or so, which is slightly above for SoCal and is just over what I have paid all week. I usually pay cash and leave the change in the tip jar, which is enough to make the staff smile usually, but not enough for me to expect more than regular service. PARKING: 2/5 Stars - TRICKY PARKING This is not just an issue for Better Buzz, but this is an issue for ALL of downtown Encinitas. Parking is normally quite abhorrent. Now, when I arrived here just before 7am, there was ample, free-parking. But speaking from experience, parking is normally terrible. You are better off parking at the train-station if you can, and then walking from there. Train-station parking is free. OVERALL: 3.51 /5 Stars - Above Average, likely the best coffee shop in Encinitas, which is high praise. Better Buzz, where do I start... I like the ammo canister on the shelf. I like the way I feel like I'm in a bar and not a traditional coffee-house. I like that dogs are allowed. I like that you are open so early. I like that there has been obvious care, attention-to-detail, and thought put into your interior. I like your coffee shop. I really do. But for ****'s sake close the windows when its this cold out, that is my only complaint really. Everything else was quite lovely. read more

I visited the Encinitas Better Buzz earlier this week, and even though I normally love everything from this company, the drink and sandwich I ordered just weren't quite what I'm used to. I decided to call the store, not really expecting much since a few days had already passed and it was a busy holiday week. That's when I spoke with Jackie, the store manager and truly, she changed my whole experience. From the moment she picked up the phone, Jackie was so kind, patient, and understanding. She listened to everything without making me feel rushed or dismissed, and she genuinely cared about making things right. She immediately offered to remake my order for free, which already meant a lot, but when I explained that I don't live in the area, she went even further out of her way. Without hesitation, she offered to call another location closer to me so they could take care of it. She didn't owe me that level of help, yet she still made it happen. Jackie was my first point of contact, and she's the reason everything else fell into place so smoothly. Her kindness set the tone for this entire experience and reminded me why I love Better Buzz in the first place. It's rare to come across someone in customer service who is not just helpful, but genuinely compassionate. I'm truly grateful for her, and she deserves recognition for the way she treats people. This level of care is one of the main reasons I keep coming back. Huge thanks to her empathy, professionalism, and genuine customer service. She truly represents the company in the best way. read more

If you're looking for a cozy brunch spot with tasty bites and unique drinks, Better Buzz Coffee Encinitas is the place to go! This cute little cafe has become a weekend staple for us. We always order the ham and cheese croissant sandwich and almond butter toast - both are consistently delicious and satisfying. But what really steals the show is their lavender black tea latte. The flavor of the lavender is spot on and adds a nice floral note to the tea, but be warned - even the low sweet options pack a sugary punch. If you have a sweet tooth, you'll love it, but for those who prefer less sugar, it may not be the best choice. The atmosphere at Better Buzz Coffee Encinitas is warm and inviting, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It's a great place to relax, catch up with friends, or get some work done. Overall, we highly recommend Better Buzz Coffee Encinitas for a lovely brunch experience! read more

Not sure what some of these negative reviews are about. Some people must not have worked in food and beverage in their life(everyone should). I've gotten to know these wonderful baristas pretty well and they are very fine young individuals most of which I would hire at my company because of how warm and welcoming they are. Not sure if the managers see this but you have great employees I don't think you should change a single thing about them. Very hard workers and I see it and appreciate it. The few I know by name that I would like to point out are Blake, Kaitlyn, Jordan, and Garret. These 4 are just so great. Very good coffee I highly suggest this location! read more

I have had coffee here a few times, but for the first time today I tried a food item, and I was pretty impressed. I ordered the avocado toast, which comes with some feta cheese and cherry tomatoes on it as well. It was a nice, healthy breakfast (to combat the sugary drink I ordered, lol) which is hard to come by with most coffee places. The only bad thing I could say about this place is that it's usually very busy, which makes it hard to find anywhere to sit, but they can't help that they have lots of loyal customers! :) Definitely would go back for the toast, and would recommend for anyone who likes a quick breakfast. read more

This review has been waiting 4 years to get done and now here it is. As someone who worked here for the past 4 years, i've been through teams and a lot of people. If someone works somewhere for that many years i'd say something is being done right. The customer relationships that i made were like family to me. My coworkers felt like the greatest friends. Special shoutout to Bethany, Hailey, Kelsey, Mac, and Kiwi. Yall are what made the shifts fun amazing and truly wonderful. Definitely go check them out bc if they could make my coffee everyday i'd let them. read more

I had the best experience at this coffee shop! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, but what really made my visit special was Azure, the wonderful barista. She was so friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about coffee. She recommended the horchata latte, and it was absolutely perfect--smooth, creamy, and just the right amount of cinnamon and espresso. I never would have thought to try it, but I'm so glad I did! I'll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great coffee and even better service! read more

This Franchise is unique and special! I have been in 7 different locations. Wherever I go I look for Better Buzz. I loooove Better Buzz. But the customer service at Encinitas is poor and mediocre. The person who was at the register was really rude. A couple of days later went back and she was cleaning and you could tell she wasn't happy at all. She was banging and slamming EVERYTHING making a lot of noise. The manager should not let this happen. It harms the franchise. read more

Don't do a mobile order!!! Waited over 35 min for my mobile order when walk ins wore coming out faster. No customer service, when asked about my order that was to be done 30 min ago I was giving an answer of "your still on the line, you have to wait" First time I come up to this location and was not impressed. Better Buzz, maybe turn off mobile on busy times or days. This will avoid any unfortunate situations for the team and your clients. read more

Better Buzz is strong, strong, strong coffee. I'm not sure how they get it so strong but it lives up to the name. The inside of the store is beautiful. It looks like something apple would design. The coffee, ambiance and the store is all great. The staff is wonderful too. I gave them 4 stars because there is always a line out the door and it takes a minute to get your coffee. If your dragging ass, it's worth it the wait! read more

We love that buzz! not every location can hit the mark but this one does everytime! The baristas always are great and you can see how hard they have to work. Best coffee in town! Another San Diego classic! Just wish there was more space in the lobby. Ive seen this place wall to wall. Maybe they need to take over the spot that thrift store is in. Expand the buzz! read more

I want to highly recommend I had the best experience at Better Buzz Coffee in Encinitas thanks to Jaden! I accidentally spilled my entire brand-new coffee, and he was so kind and welcoming about it. He mopped it up quickly, cracked some jokes to put me at ease, and immediately replaced my coffee at no charge. Now that is top-notch service! Thank you, Jaden! read more

Their coffees are good but their grilled cheeses are what makes them stand out from other coffee places. The place has positive vibes with customers from every generation. The location is also great. You can stop by to chill here on your way to or back from the beach. Free wifi is available. It's a good place to work on your laptop. read more

As always! I LOVE better buzz! Such a great location and to work and a great atmosphere to meet up for coffee with my friends. Delicious espresso and the nicest baristas in town. Shout out to the baristas. They've seemed to have a lot of new faces in there but they were all working hard during the rush. read more

The best drink ever really is the best drink ever! But it's on the sweet side for those who enjoy a strong brew. The one bad thing is the line. Comes with any great store. It makes getting a coffee during the morning rush nearly impossible. But if you have time for it, stop in and try! Very good. read more

The one in Carlsbad gives you two pieces and it's a full meal. I was still hungry, so not worth it. Also their WiFi didn't work well and the network name is "lofty isn't a library buy coffee" which is kind of annoying/passive aggressive, and lead me to reflect on the fact that I spent $16 on one piece of toast, plus $9 on a latte and a cookie (idk how much that was) over the course of a couple hours and still had to use my mobile hotspot to study there.
