When I first contacted him, he called me back within 15 minutes and was at our house to fix our washer by the next day. On his first visit, he worked with us to find an affordable fix for the short term (instead needing to order an expensive part). After a few weeks, we decided that we could afford the long term fix and called him back. Again, he responded almost immediately, ordered the part, and fixed our washer. He even followed up afterwards to make sure that it was still working. I cannot say enough good things about Anatoly!

It was a little disconcerting as he was aggressive. I'm sure he didn't mean to be and after some discussion with the associate who had greeted us, the associate asked to see the batteries. I showed them and then was told they could recycle them. That was great. But instead of taking them, the associate said to put them in the cardboard box behind the curtains the guard had shown us. I would agree with the reviews on customer service of there being something lacking. We looked around for blind box cards and checked out the toy department. The store is no frills and warehouse feel. I used to live in the area, and remember when it was welcoming. Oh well, things change. I felt like they have to size up the customers for threat of crime because that's what the experience upon entering was like. It's sad and affects the customer service feeling. But if I was in the area and needed something I would pop in. Parking in private lot.

However while shopping a security guard did not hide they were looking over my shoulder and watching me shop almost immediately from when I walked into this store. I didn't realize until I turned around and he was there staring at me. I made my purchase left and felt upset; I was profiled and I feel it was because I am black. There are other people shopping at this store and he didn't follow them. I walked back in asked the greeter to request a manager who's name is Alejandro; I shared my experience with him and I could tell he was uncomfortable by his body language, but he did acknowledge this situation. I provided him this feedback to share how I felt, and how it was wrong. To have a security follow me before an employee asks me for help is extremely disappointing. This store has plenty of options, it's a bit older of a store, but has a great selection of electronics you can pickup in store and has a mobile bay for car tech installations. Today I was purchasing a car charger while I'm on vacation and found an insignia brand charger & adapter that was at a great price. Would I come here again, definitely not, but that should not stop you. I hope they take my in person feedback well, and apply a great shopping experience for all customers of all ethnicities. Their sales, tech program, and warranty are all things that I'd recommend.

High City Appliance charges $69 for first appliance and $34 for the second one. We called and set up a time and date for them to diagnose. The window was 9-12 pm. As we do, schedules get rearranged and it was 11:25 am and still no communication from High City Appliance. I call to follow-up and customer service tells me they will follow-up. A couple of minutes later, I receive a text from their technician and he says he is 25 minutes away. He arrives at 11:57 am. He did wear shoe covers upon entering and after spending about 30 minutes in our laundry room, he shares the issues with our appliances. To replace the parts and labor the cost would be about $715. The estimate included parts and labor and labor was over $200/hour. That seemed pretty steep. If we decided to move forward, the diagnostic charge would be credited, but still very costly. After having to follow up and waiting for the technician to arrive, then receiving his quote, it was a disappointing experience. The technician also wanted to charge me $59 for the second appliance, but quickly corrected him of the quoted price that customer service shared upon making the appointment. I would strongly reconsider calling High City Appliance in the future should we have appliance issues.
