Finally made it to Bernie's after lots of pre-planning and strategizing the line, and I'm annoyed to report that it's as good as everyone says it is. Came here on a Saturday and started waiting at around 3:30 pm. There was already a decent line, so I was getting a little nervous at this point. We were able to grab bar seats when the place opened at 4 pm, which were fine. Ambiance is old school with lots of wood. Our bartender was great and really on the ball. He took care of us right away and took the time to explain the menu to us and make recommendations. I ordered a dirty martini with blue cheese olives which really hit the spot. We started out with baked clams and mozzarella sticks. The backed clams were 10/10, mozzarella was good but honestly I would skip these next time to make room for the main attractions. I got the chicken piccata which was delicious, sauce was incredible, chicken was pounded and breaded expertly. We also had the eggplant parm which was well constructed, red sauce was everything it should be and nothing else. It was my birthday, so the bartender treated us to espresso martini shots and brought out a tiramisu with a candle in it. 10/10 experience, I'm annoyed to say that I would wait on line for this place again.

Definitely one of the best burgers I've had in New York. This place is such a fun vibe to drink with a big crew and grab dinner. It is walk in only though so I recommend going early to put your name down and then grabbing a drink at their bar. I wasn't even hungry when I ordered but ended up cleaning my plate!

I've had Bernie's on my list for a while now, and I finally had the chance to go with my friend on a Saturday night for dinner. It's walk-in so be prepared for a wait, especially if you're going during the peak time or weekend. We walked up and it was packed, so we put our name down with the hostess and went for a drink nearby. Fortunately, there are a bunch of cocktail bars and breweries nearby within walking distance. We came back around the expected time that we would be able to get seated, and we were seated outside. The vibes were a cozy, casual yet sophisticated diner experience, and the food reflected that as well. My friend and I ended up sharing the Caesar salad, onion rings, and their popular chicken Parm over two dirty vodka martinis. It was absolute perfection. We ate every last bite. The Caesar salad was perfectly dressed and tangy, and the chicken Parm was decadent. The onion rings were not at all greasy and were crisp on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. My friend and I were talking the next day and still raved about how good that dinner was. The service was efficient and the staff is friendly all around. I can't wait to go back again soon.

We got rained out and I couldn't take a good picture of the chicken parm & vinegar chicken. The wedge salad was lathered in blue cheese. I'm not a blue cheese fan, but was able to eat this since the blue cheese flavor was faint. The bacon carried this dish. The bacon was really good. Not too salty and meaty. The bacon was the best thing we had all night. The chicken parm was average and the vinegar chicken was also average. I wouldn't wait for any of the dishes I had. The host was really nice and managed to move us inside during the rain. There was no wait for outdoor seating and 1 1/2 hour wait for indoor seating on a Tuesday evening.

A solid place with solid food and service. Ordered the chicken parm which was hearty and well flavored. The octopus is also tasty. The wait times can get pretty insane and I don't the place warrants waiting that long but if you can find a quiet time to go it's quite enjoyable.

Bernie's has been on my must try list for a while now, finally was able to do it. Nice dive bar/ expensive restaurant feel with an incredible ambiance. You will find it dimly lit and need the candles on the table to help you read the menu. But it's part of the incredible vibe. The service is amazing and the servers are on point. You can color and draw on your wax paper on the table while you wait with crayons. As for the food the chicken parm was big and big enough to feed 3 people so keep that in mind when ordering. Full of cheese and a thin chicken layer underneath all of that cheesy goodness. Old school chicken parm which awesome for 33 bucks. 8/10 The burger was solid not great. 7/10 due to so much chuck and gristle in the patties. Adding honey mustard as a dipping sauce was a brave choice but one that worked.

Great experience a little pricy but customer service and flavor are on point. I ordered the vinegar chicken and was not disappointed. Bartenders are super sweet and laid-back, great crowd. Outdoor seating available.

Bernie's is walk in early but it wasn't too hard to get a table for four on Tuesday at 6. The ambience of Bernie's is dark and there's so music playing so it could be tough to hear people at times. It's not too bad though. There's even crayons at each table for doodling. In terms of the food, we got 1/2 vinegar chicken, eggplant parm, onion rings, and baked clams. My favorites were tied between the vinegar chicken and eggplant parm. In terms of the portions, it was enough but I think some people were left a little hungry afterwards. Overall, it didn't blow my mind as much as I hoped but I would definitely come back again.

I finally made it to the much-beloved Bernie's, which despite the crowds around the bar and hour long waits seems to have maintained some of the simplistic coziness - paired with well-executed eats - that caused it to rise to fame. By some twist of fate I've been eating a lot of eggplant Parmesan as of late, but that wasn't going to stop me from ordering the epic $28 portion here. The eggplant is served with a sweet (perhaps slightly smoky?) tomato gravy and a generous serving of both cheese and olive oil. It's a very satisfying dish. I'm not sure I would wait an hour and a half for a table here, so I would recommend a seat or two at the bar on a weeknight.

Finally got to try Bernie's and it was an incredible experience. I checked in and put my groups information down around 5/5:15 and they told us about 2 hours. We were seated at 7:30 but we got drinks nearby and had a drink outside the restaurant for the last 30 minutes of us waiting. I really don't know what my favorite part of the meal was everything was so good. We got the onion dip, wings, mozz sticks, wedge salad, ceaser salad, burgers, chicken parm, and vinegar chicken and lots of dirty martinis ... SO GOOD. My only regret is being too full for dessert

Put our name in at 6:23 on a Thursday, and our party of 3 was seated outside at 7:54 (we went to Eavesdrop for a drink in between). We ordered martinis (fantastic), then shared: + Mozzarella sticks + wedge salad + Cheeseburger deluxe + Crispy eggplant parm + Lemon ice box pie + Bernie's brownie sundae The burger was a letdown, but otherwise the food was really good. Desserts were actually my favorite, followed by the eggplant parm. Mozz sticks were also great!

    Shrimp cocktail
    Kristina K.

Charming retro diner vibes and friendly service. The dirty martini was spot-on, and the shrimp cocktail, while fresh and nicely presented, felt a bit pricey for what it was. Nostalgic spot perfect for a low-key nightcap on a late weeknight.

came sunday evening after tennis and got seated right away!! sitting outdoors before it gets too cold. really thought this place would be great but felt it was pretty average ?? ceaser salad was the best in our spread and the burger and chicken parm were standard. dirty martinis rly good. loved the retro old school diner aesthetic.

However, my friends and I were here for the food, so that's what this review is based on. She-wolf Sourdough (7/10) - It was good bread, but nothing really special. Hot Crab Dip (7/10) - Very veggie forward flavors, but you do taste crab. Not bad. Btw, this dish comes with a few pieces of the She-Wolf Sourdough. Danish Dog (7.5/10) - Great snap to the bite of the dog itself. Bread was great. Pickles are interesting, but the curry mayo should be stronger and more bold. Simple mustard would have been better. Old Bay Chicken Wings (8/10) - Nice plump and juicy wings with that dusting of Old Bay seasoning. Yum! Fried Chicken Sandwich (5/10) - Chicken was fried well and bread was fine. However, the chili miso honey was way too much for me. Too sweet, not spicy at all, and just didn't work well. Dry Aged Burger (7/10) - Beef patty needs more seasoning and a better crust. No real char at all, though a decent beef flavor was present. Not into the sprouts, but the tomato jam was good. From what I heard, I had high hopes for the food here. In the end, it was a satisfying meal, but nothing special something I travel so far for again.

We came relatively early around 4pm, so we were able to take advantage of some of their Happy Hour prices, including: $14 Fried Chicken Sandwich $10 Cocktails, including the Frozen Espresso Martini I also got the Smash Burger and the Yuzu Sake, which weren't included in the Happy Hour. You order your food & drinks at the bar, but they bring the food out to wherever you're sitting once it's ready. As for the cocktails, they were both great!! The Frozen Espresso Martini was very creatively presented and I enjoyed the look and taste of it. The Yuzu Sake was strong and great quality! For the food, both the Fried Chicken Sandwich and Smash Burger were delicious!! The Fried Chicken Sandwich especially tasted so unique and creative with the sauce on it, but I also just really loved the solid burger and could tell it had excellent quality. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Torst, and I highly recommend stopping by to grab some of their food and drinks!

He started out as a salesman for Brooklyn Brewery during the 1980s. Eventually he founded his own beer imports company called Raven Importing Company. Raven ultimately wanted to open his own craft beer bar and bottle shop where he could offer consumers microbrews and high quality European brews. The new business, dubbed Brouwerij Lane, was the first of its kind in Brooklyn's Greenpoint neighborhood. Brouwerij Lane has 19 rotating draught lines as well as 150+ cans and bottles of local, imported, rare and unique craft brews. Raven also teamed up with brewmaster Chris Prout to open the Dirck the Norseman restaurant and brewpub in 2014. It later evolved into Greenpoint Beer & Ale Company, but it sadly closed its doors in 2024. I recently visited Brouwerij Lane while I was in Brooklyn to see a concert. I arrived early in the day so I could explore some beer bars and shops throughout Williamsburg and Greenpoint. Both neighborhoods have bustling craft beer scenes. Brouwerij Lane has been on my list of places to explore for a while. The interior is small but cozy. There were maybe six other customers enjoying beers when I arrived. I grabbed a table and then looked over the impressive draught menu. I decided to start off with a pour of Mighty Squirrel Brewing's "Volare" (Italian Pilsner). Italian Pilsners are my favorite variety of pilsners, and this one was excellent. Dry-hopped with noble hops, "Volare" (Italian for 'to fly') was crisp and delicious with a nice blend of citrusy notes and hints of freshly baked bread. I also had a look at the shop's impressive can/bottle selection and purchased a can of Brown Girl's Brew's "Lemon Pound Cake" (Lager) to take home. Before leaving, I enjoyed a pour of Brouwerij Van Steenberge's "Tripel De Garre" (Belgian Tripel). This was an AMAZING Belgian beer that had some excellent spice notes. I had an excellent experience at Brouwerij Lane and I highly recommend them to craft beer aficionados or those who want to learn about craft beer!
