I've had Ben Paris on my list for quite some time, working in Seattle. Saw and heard their brunch was good! My colleague and I hung out this past Friday night and it took a while, going to 3 different restaurants before settling on Ben Paris! What a great choice! When we arrived, they had some outside seating, at least 3 tables. There were 2 left so we got the corner. You have such a beautiful view of the Pike Place Public Market sign and although there are passerby's near you, it's actually not that bad. We did have one man start talking to us as he went by, believe he was homeless unfortunately or a little odd but that didn't ruin our evening! The hostess and servers are quite nice! We looked over the menu and got one of their most famous mocktails that has a CBD seltzer, a Citrus Zen-Rita, and I asked how strong it would be, relaxing or energy wise and she said it was an equivalent of a Chamomile tea! (It worked when I got home!) The dishes are tasty. Loved the truffle fries. The foccacia bread worked well with our pasta dish. We wanted to split the short rib paccheri and they did a marvelous job splitting it. The pasta was tender al dente and the short rib was tender! We really enjoyed and I'd want to come back for their brunch! The inside of the restaurant is quite beautiful so we'd like to experience that next time.
Ben Paris was a great brunch spot during my time in Seattle. The restaurant has a comfortable, stylish atmosphere that feels a little more elevated than a typical brunch place without being overly formal. We ordered the baked eggs, the Ben Paris Breakfast, and an order of parmesan truffle fries to share. The baked eggs were rich and comforting, with plenty of flavor in every bite. The Ben Paris Breakfast was exactly what you'd want from a classic brunch plate--well-executed, satisfying, and made with quality ingredients. The parmesan truffle fries ended up being a highlight of the meal. They were crispy, generously seasoned, and easy to keep reaching for throughout brunch. The service was attentive, and the food came out promptly despite the restaurant being fairly busy. Overall, the meal felt polished without trying too hard, and everything we ordered was enjoyable. If you're looking for a reliable brunch option in downtown Seattle, Ben Paris is definitely worth considering. It's the kind of place that does the basics well while adding just enough creativity to make the experience memorable.
Cute breakfast/brunch place connected to a hotel! Food was decent but super expensive. Got a kale salad, avocado toast and truffle fries to share / all were okay. The service was decent - people were super kind but unfortunately toward the second half of our meal we couldn't pin down our waiter so I had to flag a different one down for the check. Bathroom is also located outside of the restaurant in the basement of the hotel for your awareness!
Ben Paris is perfectly located in downtown Seattle, for both local and tourists who are seeking great food right outside of the historic pike place attractions. I greatly appreciate the ability to make reservations, and I highly recommend providing detail notes about your party so the host can meet your accommodations. Due to its location on the weekends and especially during brunch hours Ben Paris can get busy be patient and definitely book a reservation. Our server Jake provided excellent service, he was extremely courteous and curated a great dining experience for my family and I. We will definitely return and highly recommend!
Tried Ben Paris since I was staying at the State Hotel and had dining credit. Two of us ordered: ben paris breakfast $25 tavern burger $22 We had tried the fries as a snack before and it was ok. Unfortunately, the breakfast experience was terrible. Food sat there for 10-15 minutes. Server went MIA. Tried to wave down other staff to let them know our food was probably sitting there and finally someone else grabbed for us. Even as a comped meal, I wouldn't want to spend my time here. Food was cold. Nothing stood out. Bad service.
Such a delightful restaurant! The food was beautifully presented and was delicious. The restaurant's decor was very cool, it reminded me of something from the 1970's back in Philadelphia. The service was fantastic too with the exception of the guy who delivered the food, he was cranky. Would definitely recommend.
While visiting Seattle, I was looking for a brunch spot and Ben Paris caught my eye. Not only for the menu but for the decor. I made reservations, arrived and we were greeted promptly by a friendly hostess. We were sat at a two top by the window, just in front of the bar. I will say the tables spaces are tight but the window view to people watch was great! It took a few minutes for our waiter to come, but when he did, he was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We decided on still water which he told us was filtered (which was great to know), a grapefruit mimosa for me and lavender latte for my partner. The mimosa was well balanced and the lavender latte was simply chefs's kiss! For entrees, I decided on the cauliflower Caesar with an added fried chicken thigh and an order of regular fries. My partner had the ricotta pancakes with a side of bacon. I enjoyed the cauliflower Caesar and while the chicken thigh was crispy, it honestly lacked flavor. The fries were awesome; handcut and just right. The ricotta pancakes stole the show. Fluffy and flavorful! Overall, a solid spot that I'd try again.
I'm staying the The State Hotel and decided to try Ben Paris for Happy Hour. The hotel gives guests a $15 credit per day, I decided to use my credits this evening. After settling into my room, I came down and sat at the bar, which 3 of the 6 or 7 seats were filled. The bartender was busy talking to guests and doing something, so I looked over the menu. As I sat there, the bartender passed in front of me several times and began crafting a drink in front of me, while talking to the couple a seat over from me. The bartender spoke to someone else, then went back to them, never once greeting me or letting me know he'd be with me shortly. After waiting a bit, I decided to check with the front desk people, to see if happy hour was only in the bar area. They said it was not, so I asked the waitress if I could sit at a table. She walked me over to a table and was able to take my order immediately, as I had already had time to look over the menu at the bar. I ordered the fries, wagyu sliders, hush puppies, and Brussels sprouts. I was not a fan of the fries and the hush puppies. The sliders and Brussels sprouts were delicious. The woman working the floor in the restaurant was amazing... she completely turned around my experience. The bartender came to drop off my iced tea and still had an attitude, I would have apologized if I were in that position. In any case, I believe Heidi is the name of the server, she did a great job.
Stopped here on a Friday night to grab a quick bite since it was on the way to a bar we were going to for my friend's birthday. We were sat for a table of 3 and shared a seared scallop risotto, which was fantastic. I definitely was eyeing the other dishes, but maybe for another day. The seared scallop risotto was cooked to perfection and the scallops were pretty big! The dish perfectly complimented itself. The ambiance was fantastic! It was much more of a formal setup and the restaurant is quite fancy, but that's how you know you're getting quality food.
Ben Paris has a bustling café atmosphere, with plenty of people and a lively energy that makes it feel like a popular weekend brunch spot. We ordered the fried chicken sandwich and the Wagyu burger, both of which came with a small serving of crispy, delicious fries. The food was enjoyable and flavorful, but the portion sizes were a little on the smaller side. While we enjoyed our meal, paying close to $105 for two entrées, a tea, and a cocktail during weekend brunch left me feeling a little underwhelmed in terms of value. One thing to keep in mind is parking, it can be difficult to find in the area, so come with plenty of extra time if you're driving and expect to spend some time looking for a space.
Our experience at Ben Paris was nothing short of exceptional! Our server was fantastic- she had the perfect balance of friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout our meal. We enjoyed a cocktail and then bottle of wine - highly recommend checking out the red bottle list - very reasonable prices for some exceptional bottles! Apps: Fritters and Brussels - both so good! Fritters had some nice heat and were perfectly breaded and cooked... the Brussels had just the right balance of bacon and balsamic. Main: we shared the NY Strip and wow! It was served on a bed of feta (?) that was creamy and amazing. Dessert - chocolate mousse type thing that melted in our mouth. Next time you are seeing a show at the Moore Theater up the street - look no further than Ben Paris!
The Ben Paris is a restaurant that is apart of the State Hotel on 1501 2nd Ave, Seattle Washington. It is recommended to reserve a table as it is seemingly a popular spot to eat and drink. I do believe that they can accommodate walk-ins accordingly. If you're driving into the city to visit the restaurant, there is a parking garage across the street, also you will be a block from the Pike Place Market. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a very friendly host named Evan. We were escorted to a nice table near the kitchen where I was able to catch a glimpse of the kitchen, and where the food is picked up to be delivered to the patrons. Evan, gave us the rundown on who our table attendant was and so on. Evan was very gracious and welcoming, he even complimented my eyewear. Jacob was wonderful and very kind as we had lots of questions regarding menu items and beverages. I really appreciated Jacob for suggesting things that he has enjoyed from the restaurant. What I like about the restaurant and the service is that all of their team members are pleasant, approachable and friendly. It's like they enjoy being there. Our food was delivered in a timely manner and was decent but we were not blown away by the meals. I'd say that we all enjoyed the experience and the atmosphere of the restaurant and team members. If I stand correct, I think the restaurant is known for its fanciful wallpaper. Which was pretty cool. There is a full bar on site just to the north of the dining area. The restrooms are located 1 level below the restaurant and it requires the use of the elevator. To the right of the elevator is the lobby to the hotel. Check out the beautiful table and the wall. Thank you Ben Paris for the lovely Birthday Brunch Experience.
Nothing bad but nothing that great either! A pretty average experience Food was so ordinary .. I ordered the Ben Paris breakfast ($25) and it tasted like a free continental breakfast made up to look pretty. It didn't taste bad! But it wasn't anything special too, but that has its own charm too, I suppose. You eat exactly what you expect, but nothing more. Service was average as well. Our server never came to check up on us. She was kind, but I had to look for her to order a coffee, get the check, etc.

Beautiful restaurant. Great food quality. I believe there's three different menus l, breakfast, lunch and dinner. We came for lunch and had the Cobb salad and the kids had grilled cheese sandwiches with fries plus the cauliflower. I had to finish with a latte. The service was excellent, our waiter was kind and made suggestions to accommodate our tastes. Located in the heart of Seattle. We will have to come back for breakfast. read more

Went to Ben Paris with a friend for brunch and it was delicious. She made reservations at noon and we got seated right away. I ordered the smoked salmon omelette and it was really good! The potatoes were amazing! I also ordered an aperol spritz. My friend ordered the breakfast sandwich and a Bloody Mary. She said she really liked it! I would definitely come back for brunch and would try dinner too! read more

Dear Alain,…
I was very excited to try this place for SRW and it's another winner!!! They have a mini supper club as part of SRW so we decided to try it. Course 1: Spiced carrot soup: sweet and savory, rich and creamy, a good fresh start Kale and cauliflower salad: this was unexpectedly good, they shaved the cauliflower in a way that I thought was cheese as first but it wasn't! It was also brought a crunchy texture. Course 2: Duck confit ragu: I really like this dish, the noodle was wide noodle with a grainy texture and the meat was super tender. Very flavorful. Fried chicken with brussel sprouts: fried chicken was surprisingly good. Boneless, tender and the breading was crispy but the flavor was what made it super yummy. The brussel sprouts was ok for me, nothing special. Course 3: Banana foster: the rum sauce was a little too sweet for me but I like the caramelized banana was perfect. Overall, the portion was good and it was a great deal for SRW. However, their description was a little misleading. It says you wouldn't leave being hungry, so I thought we be getting a lot of food, but it was enough to be satisfied, nothing overfilling, so I was slightly disappointed. I was kinda thinking we be getting two dessert since we were getting two courses for everything else. My husband also got one of the drinks and it was really good. Service was a little off as we had to wait a little for each of the courses but it wasn't bad. Overall, a SRW to try their food! read more

Came here last week to get together with my girl friends, I ordered the mushroom risotto which was okay, it was a little hard, and I thought the plate was pretty small for the price. The server was a nice guy, but he kept getting my friends order wrong. She ordered the same thing I got and she didn't like it, so she changed it to the pesto pasta Without lamb, and they brought it to her with the lamb. Then she asked for them to change it, and they took too long and she ended up cancelling her order. He did correct it and gave it to her for free which was really nice. The other thing which is weird is that the bathroom is in the basement of the hotel. I felt like I was gonna get kidnapped. Anyway, the place is nice and feels bougie, right next to pike place. Parking sucks of course. read more

Stopped here for dinner on our first night in the city. We were able to make last minute reservations and were seated quickly. They did not have any beer that interested me unfortunately, but they had plenty of hoppy options for my boyfriend. They have a limited menu, but also offer rotating specials written on a board. My boyfriend and I both choice the daily fish which was Salmon and it was amazing! read more
The ambience of this place was super cute and the location is ideal right next to pike place and in a hotel lobby! Would recommend stopping by as they have a cool bar area also. The ricotta pancakes were slightly underwhelming and didn't have as much flavor as I thought. The sauce just made it a little too mushy and not enough sweetness to it. The breakfast sandwich was delicious! Came with plenty of potatoes and the biscuit was moist. The sandwich had some chilis in it which gave it a nice kick. read more

Ahh... Ben Paris! My trusted breakfast/ brunch spot every time I'm in town. I can't say enough about this place. The staff is nice and accommodating. The food is always on point. On this most recent trip: Bloody Mary: I don't usually drink this, but my friend gave it the seal of approval. Stayed it was just perfect. Aperol Spritz: I thought it was refreshing and exactly how this drink should be prepared and presented. Breakfast sandwich: Super satisfying savory bites of goodness in with a chive biscuit as the conduit. It is served with 3 small roasted potatoes. That addition was a bit much for me, so I did not eat much of it. Ricotta pancakes: perfect textured pancake- crispy exterior and fluffy interior. The berries on top and vanilla bean anglaise are a nice touch. I think I can't come here without ordering it. It's that good. Tip: it's pretty popular for weekend brunch so alors fill up quickly during prime time; however, a last minute Resy or walk-in the morning close to when they open tends to work out. read more

I had my fancy pants on and wanted some delicious snacks. Low and behold Ben Paris...which I've always wanted to try. While I did not come in for a "full meal experience" I did want to have some small bites and drinks. I walked in and immediately sat at the bar. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere inviting. My Order: Shrimp Cocktail - not sure how something so simple could be so extra delicious! The shrimp were huge and the sauce complemented perfectly. House Fries - I devoured these. The homemade Aioli along with crispy fries was the perfect treat. Honestly, some of the best I've had. Again, why something so simple could be so extra tasty I don't know! Martini Trio - YUM! I highly recommend if you are a fan of martinis. This way you get to try a few different kinds! Each with it's own uniqueness; each one very good. Overall I will certainly be back for a meal or HH. They are also doing take-out during COVID, so I recommend giving them a try! read more

We loved the ambiance at this restaurant. Although small in size, it was beautifully decorated and tables were perfectly spaced out. I was in love with the accent wallpaper they had, awesome for great photo opps! Our server was a friendly and bubbly elderly lady. She was so attentive & personable, she made sure we had a great experience. I ordered the breakfast sandwich & my friend ordered the wild mushroom hash. My sandwich was great! Biscuit was delicious with a perfectly cooked egg. The potatoes were the star of my dish! They were cooked & seasoned to perfection. I can eat a whole plate of them! My friend loved her hash! Had a unique & rich sauce to it which made the dish. Highly recommend. Overall we loved their brunch and want to come back to try their dinner dishes. read more

We have tried Ben Paris couple of times and the food is not bad. The original Ben Paris Breakfast is highly recommended. The Carnita Bowl and Baked Eggs were just ok in my opinion - not sure if it was a miss this time since we usually like the food. The customer service is always great. I highly recommend taking reservations since the place is extremely popular especially for their weekend brunch menu! Can't wait to go back and try out the sweet items from their menu read more

Dear Atheena,…
Stopped in for a late Sunday brunch! A cute little shop downtown that serves some yummy brunch food. I ordered the ricotta pancakes and wow the pancakes were so fluffy and soft! I really appreciate how warm and how much moisture was packed I to them! The cream sauce was also delicious and didn't really need extra maple syrup! I also ordered a side sausage and it was a tad spicy so keep that in mind people who don't like spicy food! My friend also ordered a fried egg dish which was super original and super delicious with the bread too! They were even so nice to give her an extra slice. The waitress was so warm and sweet and gave us an amazing rec for mocktail with rosemary! Definitely coming back again but really miss their CBD mocktail please bring it back read more

From the Halibut to Grilled elotes, Tagliatelle, and the outstanding desserts like S'mores panna cotta and Blueberry Vacherin - I tried them all. This is a new to me restaurant in Seattle. Ben Paris is part of The State Hotel. The restaurant is in long shape with tall ceiling. I was attracted by the hand paint mural on the wall. The restaurant looked bright and airy with lots of windows. During the meal, we had to raise our voice in order to hear each other from across the small table and the tables setting is very close to each other. The service was on point and friendly but my beverage was served on my left hand side. Food wise... The boneless short rib looked good with tender texture but it failed/none in flavor (both meat and sauce). The fried chicken was a good choice. The flavor is on the crispy skin and the meat is juicy. The truffle fries arrived late and it was not hot. We turned it back. The fresh hot fries was crispy and filled with truffle fragrant. We liked it but we prefer no salt on them. Before visiting, I was hopeful to try new restaurant and curious about their "Tour the Menu." After my meal, I don't prefer this restaurant as the seating layout is uncomfortable to me. However, it will be a great place for tourist to enjoy the vibe and location. And, we had a casual conversation with a TX tourist about his thoughts on Seattle during his visit. I know. We saw the problem action too... read more

Ben Paris, perhaps my favorite restaurant in Seattle in 2019. An ode to Ben Paris fried chicken: I can't stop ordering you. Is it your honey sesame glaze? Is it your juicy, perfectly fried chicken? The collard greens and mac n cheese on the side always cheer me on, and I have dragged many a friend into my fried chicken frenzy with you. I can't seem to quit you - send help. Other menu highlights: - Buttermilk Hush Puppies with sweet corn, pimento, jalapeno - flavorful, delicious. Order this! - Roasted carrots with harissa, puffed rice - Cauliflower Caesar - hearty take on a Caesar with shredded cauliflower and kale, topped with foccacia breadcrumbs - King Salmon with corn, oyster mushrooms and pesto - melt in your mouth goodness Last but not least, handsome cocktail drinks and excellent service. Have had a blast at Ben Paris on several dinners - thanks for good eats and great service!! read more

This is definitely one of my new favorite spots! The $30 Chef's Tasting on the Happy Hour menu is one of the best deals out there! 8 course meal. Each dish thoughtfully curated and packed with flavor! During the meal, I didn't really know what dishes were included or how many there was which I think was part of the fun! They were also dishes I normally wouldn't order myself like, Kale Cauliflower Caesar Salad and Burata cheese with pickled beets and perhaps pears, but so glad I got to try them. I was absolutely stuffed by the time the main dish was served but had to squeeze in a bit of the dessert. Service was amazing and getting a reservation was easy, even though one wasn't really needed as there was plenty of seating at 4:30pm on a Saturday. Im already looking forward to my next visit! read more
Been wanting to try this place out for brunch but haven't found the time, so figured I give them a try for dinner. There are two entrances to the restaurant, either through the Hotel Lobby or Main door which made it a bit tough for the hostess to know who to seat but they managed. Upon seating, my wife and I ordered fairly quickly since we had tickets to a show and went with cauliflower caesar salad, grilled octopus, and the fried chicken dish. I also had the Pretty Sultry Lullaby drink which was Japanese Whiskey with Black Tea which was extremely tasty. My wife went non-alcoholic with the Nitro Chai Black Tea and she can't stop raving about how refreshing and good it was. So drinks were top notch! As for the food, the grilled octopus was the highlight, tender and the flavors were on point and balanced. The cauliflower caesar was inventive and dressed well, and there was an option to add chicken to it but we passed since we ordered the fried chicken. The fried chicken plate had us torn since while the chicken was crunchy light with a touch of sweetness from the honey. The sides of collards greens were way too salty. The mac and cheese was good, but just a bit too heavy for more than a few bites. Overall, we were pleased with the food. Service was wonderful and made sure we left on time to our show. Now, I really need make time for brunch here since their dinner service was quite delicious! read more
I came to Ben Paris for a casual quick dinner but left burnt out and exhausted. Hear me out. I booked a dinner for 2 which we got seated immediately. It's gorgeous inside so i was really excited. I ordered the duck confit and it came out hard and dry. Our waiter Fernando would show up every now and then but the entire dinner we had to request him. I wanted to send it back because of how disappointing the meal was and when I ordered something else it didn't show up for another 30 minutes. Fernando then comes after asking another waiter if they could get him for us and tells me that it'll be on the house. I was happy by now but when the check came I literally had to pay for my appetizer and my drink which was 40 dollars worth a meal including tip. I just hated how much he got my hopes up, I wish he'd actually comped my entire meal like he said instead of just the entree. The whole thing was a mess, we were waiting so long we totally forgot about dessert and just wanted to get out of there. Do you know how bad it's gotta be when you forget dessert?? Pretty bad Also!! Is confit not slow cooked?? Is it not meant to be on the tender side like fall-off-the-bone- tender? This is the second establishment I've been to and the duck has been really hard and abrasive? read more

Ben Paris is a boujie hotel restaurant spot in downtown Seattle. It's up scale, high priced, and always bustling. This is strictly a dinner/evening review. Food: For vegetarians, there are limited options and no entrees but I will say they veggie started and sides were great. I loved the soup in particular. It was rich and flavorful. Not too ginger forward. Perfect for the fall. Ambiance: One word - boujie. This would be a great place to grab drinks, celebrate an anniversary, or meet with friends for a special occasion. If you are visiting Seattle, I would opt for something more local and quintessential Seattle, but if your staying close to Ben Paris it isn't a bad option. Service: I love the folks at Ben Paris. They are awesome bar tenders and servers. As Ben Paris is part of a hotel, they treat their guests very well. Overall, I would come back and grab a small bite or drink. I would also be open to coming back to try the brunch menu. read more

Went here for dinner and was so glad we chose this place! Our server was extremely kind and attentive to us, and he helped us choose some amazing dishes. The Waygu burger was HUGE and so flavorful, and the risotto was a favorite as well. The server was also kind enough to split our check, even splitting our bread in three without us asking. read more

Go here! I don't write reviews often but really felt this place deserves it! I am a general manager of a restaurant and a restaurant owner/chef - this place does it all so well! The food was spectacular- the octopus was tender and had so much flavor! The risotto was the best I have ever had and my wife has me trying to recreate it at home! The service was spot on and honestly the best we have received in a long time! Service is something I pride myself in at my own restaurant and this place didn't disappoint. The staff went above and beyond for us! We felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant even though the place was full! Get the old fashioned! I'm still thinking about it! read more

Great place for breakfast or brunch! I wish they had more options like egg Benedict or waffles. We had a visitor from other state and it was close to our home so we decided to try this place. Overall chic nice atmosphere, fancy cocktails for brunch. Avocado toast was ok but burger and French toast were good. Again menu is really small and I didn't had much options. read more
I struggled between 3 and 4 stars. Everything was just ok. The waitress seemed like she was in a bad mood, but she was friendly. It was a strange combination but it was fine. She came by often but it felt like she was rushing us more than waiting on us -- if that makes sense. I went with a group of 7 people. We ordered the poutine fries (fantastic and 10/10 would recommend; the pork was tender and delicious), fried chicken (interesting sweet/savory flavor on the chicken), mushroom risotto (unbearably cheesy but tasty; our friend could only eat a handful of bites bc of how cheesy and salty it was; we all took a bite and agreed, which is too bad bc the flavor is there), ribeye steak (tender, however the demi glace was a little salty), Brussels sprouts (nicely crisp), and the kale caesar/cauliflower salad (unbearably cheesy; couldn't finish it). The drinks were tasty, but inconsistent. Our table ordered the Gin Griffey juniper multiple times and it looked different each time -- from a dark purple to a pale pink after each order. Queen Bee tasted classic as expected. One of the waitresses to brought out our drinks spilled one of our cocktails and it spilled onto the seat and a friends jacket, and strangely we didn't even get an apology. The cocktail was an inch from the brim and she didn't offer to replace the cocktail -- an apology would have sufficed. But we made a comment to our main waitress and she comped then cocktail, which was nice of her. So overall, the experience was just okay but I do plan to revisit for their happy hour. Cute interior and the poutine fries alone makes for another visit. read more

A very solid restaurant for both brunch and dinner. The ambience was very nice and the staff are friendly. I would 100% try the buttermilk fried chicken, which comes with kimchi, smoky bleu, and seeded honey glaze. It was so crispy on the outside and just perfectly cooked. I also tried the cauliflower caesar, which was also quite good. I would not try the buttermilk hush puppies, as it was extremely salty. Overall though, I would come here again -- the drinks looked very pretty so will come back here next time for the drinks. I heard they also do happy hour, so will definitely stop by for that :) A quick note this place is located downtown right around Pike Place Market, so parking around the restaurant can be a bit difficult to find... I'd recommend parking a bit farther away or try coming here at a less popular time to avoid this. read more
