I've had Ben Paris on my list for quite some time, working in Seattle. Saw and heard their brunch was good! My colleague and I hung out this past Friday night and it took a while, going to 3 different restaurants before settling on Ben Paris! What a great choice! When we arrived, they had some outside seating, at least 3 tables. There were 2 left so we got the corner. You have such a beautiful view of the Pike Place Public Market sign and although there are passerby's near you, it's actually not that bad. We did have one man start talking to us as he went by, believe he was homeless unfortunately or a little odd but that didn't ruin our evening! The hostess and servers are quite nice! We looked over the menu and got one of their most famous mocktails that has a CBD seltzer, a Citrus Zen-Rita, and I asked how strong it would be, relaxing or energy wise and she said it was an equivalent of a Chamomile tea! (It worked when I got home!) The dishes are tasty. Loved the truffle fries. The foccacia bread worked well with our pasta dish. We wanted to split the short rib paccheri and they did a marvelous job splitting it. The pasta was tender al dente and the short rib was tender! We really enjoyed and I'd want to come back for their brunch! The inside of the restaurant is quite beautiful so we'd like to experience that next time.
Ben Paris was a great brunch spot during my time in Seattle. The restaurant has a comfortable, stylish atmosphere that feels a little more elevated than a typical brunch place without being overly formal. We ordered the baked eggs, the Ben Paris Breakfast, and an order of parmesan truffle fries to share. The baked eggs were rich and comforting, with plenty of flavor in every bite. The Ben Paris Breakfast was exactly what you'd want from a classic brunch plate--well-executed, satisfying, and made with quality ingredients. The parmesan truffle fries ended up being a highlight of the meal. They were crispy, generously seasoned, and easy to keep reaching for throughout brunch. The service was attentive, and the food came out promptly despite the restaurant being fairly busy. Overall, the meal felt polished without trying too hard, and everything we ordered was enjoyable. If you're looking for a reliable brunch option in downtown Seattle, Ben Paris is definitely worth considering. It's the kind of place that does the basics well while adding just enough creativity to make the experience memorable.
Cute breakfast/brunch place connected to a hotel! Food was decent but super expensive. Got a kale salad, avocado toast and truffle fries to share / all were okay. The service was decent - people were super kind but unfortunately toward the second half of our meal we couldn't pin down our waiter so I had to flag a different one down for the check. Bathroom is also located outside of the restaurant in the basement of the hotel for your awareness!
Ben Paris is perfectly located in downtown Seattle, for both local and tourists who are seeking great food right outside of the historic pike place attractions. I greatly appreciate the ability to make reservations, and I highly recommend providing detail notes about your party so the host can meet your accommodations. Due to its location on the weekends and especially during brunch hours Ben Paris can get busy be patient and definitely book a reservation. Our server Jake provided excellent service, he was extremely courteous and curated a great dining experience for my family and I. We will definitely return and highly recommend!
Tried Ben Paris since I was staying at the State Hotel and had dining credit. Two of us ordered: ben paris breakfast $25 tavern burger $22 We had tried the fries as a snack before and it was ok. Unfortunately, the breakfast experience was terrible. Food sat there for 10-15 minutes. Server went MIA. Tried to wave down other staff to let them know our food was probably sitting there and finally someone else grabbed for us. Even as a comped meal, I wouldn't want to spend my time here. Food was cold. Nothing stood out. Bad service.
Such a delightful restaurant! The food was beautifully presented and was delicious. The restaurant's decor was very cool, it reminded me of something from the 1970's back in Philadelphia. The service was fantastic too with the exception of the guy who delivered the food, he was cranky. Would definitely recommend.
While visiting Seattle, I was looking for a brunch spot and Ben Paris caught my eye. Not only for the menu but for the decor. I made reservations, arrived and we were greeted promptly by a friendly hostess. We were sat at a two top by the window, just in front of the bar. I will say the tables spaces are tight but the window view to people watch was great! It took a few minutes for our waiter to come, but when he did, he was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We decided on still water which he told us was filtered (which was great to know), a grapefruit mimosa for me and lavender latte for my partner. The mimosa was well balanced and the lavender latte was simply chefs's kiss! For entrees, I decided on the cauliflower Caesar with an added fried chicken thigh and an order of regular fries. My partner had the ricotta pancakes with a side of bacon. I enjoyed the cauliflower Caesar and while the chicken thigh was crispy, it honestly lacked flavor. The fries were awesome; handcut and just right. The ricotta pancakes stole the show. Fluffy and flavorful! Overall, a solid spot that I'd try again.
I'm staying the The State Hotel and decided to try Ben Paris for Happy Hour. The hotel gives guests a $15 credit per day, I decided to use my credits this evening. After settling into my room, I came down and sat at the bar, which 3 of the 6 or 7 seats were filled. The bartender was busy talking to guests and doing something, so I looked over the menu. As I sat there, the bartender passed in front of me several times and began crafting a drink in front of me, while talking to the couple a seat over from me. The bartender spoke to someone else, then went back to them, never once greeting me or letting me know he'd be with me shortly. After waiting a bit, I decided to check with the front desk people, to see if happy hour was only in the bar area. They said it was not, so I asked the waitress if I could sit at a table. She walked me over to a table and was able to take my order immediately, as I had already had time to look over the menu at the bar. I ordered the fries, wagyu sliders, hush puppies, and Brussels sprouts. I was not a fan of the fries and the hush puppies. The sliders and Brussels sprouts were delicious. The woman working the floor in the restaurant was amazing... she completely turned around my experience. The bartender came to drop off my iced tea and still had an attitude, I would have apologized if I were in that position. In any case, I believe Heidi is the name of the server, she did a great job.
Stopped here on a Friday night to grab a quick bite since it was on the way to a bar we were going to for my friend's birthday. We were sat for a table of 3 and shared a seared scallop risotto, which was fantastic. I definitely was eyeing the other dishes, but maybe for another day. The seared scallop risotto was cooked to perfection and the scallops were pretty big! The dish perfectly complimented itself. The ambiance was fantastic! It was much more of a formal setup and the restaurant is quite fancy, but that's how you know you're getting quality food.
Ben Paris has a bustling café atmosphere, with plenty of people and a lively energy that makes it feel like a popular weekend brunch spot. We ordered the fried chicken sandwich and the Wagyu burger, both of which came with a small serving of crispy, delicious fries. The food was enjoyable and flavorful, but the portion sizes were a little on the smaller side. While we enjoyed our meal, paying close to $105 for two entrées, a tea, and a cocktail during weekend brunch left me feeling a little underwhelmed in terms of value. One thing to keep in mind is parking, it can be difficult to find in the area, so come with plenty of extra time if you're driving and expect to spend some time looking for a space.
Our experience at Ben Paris was nothing short of exceptional! Our server was fantastic- she had the perfect balance of friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout our meal. We enjoyed a cocktail and then bottle of wine - highly recommend checking out the red bottle list - very reasonable prices for some exceptional bottles! Apps: Fritters and Brussels - both so good! Fritters had some nice heat and were perfectly breaded and cooked... the Brussels had just the right balance of bacon and balsamic. Main: we shared the NY Strip and wow! It was served on a bed of feta (?) that was creamy and amazing. Dessert - chocolate mousse type thing that melted in our mouth. Next time you are seeing a show at the Moore Theater up the street - look no further than Ben Paris!
The Ben Paris is a restaurant that is apart of the State Hotel on 1501 2nd Ave, Seattle Washington. It is recommended to reserve a table as it is seemingly a popular spot to eat and drink. I do believe that they can accommodate walk-ins accordingly. If you're driving into the city to visit the restaurant, there is a parking garage across the street, also you will be a block from the Pike Place Market. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a very friendly host named Evan. We were escorted to a nice table near the kitchen where I was able to catch a glimpse of the kitchen, and where the food is picked up to be delivered to the patrons. Evan, gave us the rundown on who our table attendant was and so on. Evan was very gracious and welcoming, he even complimented my eyewear. Jacob was wonderful and very kind as we had lots of questions regarding menu items and beverages. I really appreciated Jacob for suggesting things that he has enjoyed from the restaurant. What I like about the restaurant and the service is that all of their team members are pleasant, approachable and friendly. It's like they enjoy being there. Our food was delivered in a timely manner and was decent but we were not blown away by the meals. I'd say that we all enjoyed the experience and the atmosphere of the restaurant and team members. If I stand correct, I think the restaurant is known for its fanciful wallpaper. Which was pretty cool. There is a full bar on site just to the north of the dining area. The restrooms are located 1 level below the restaurant and it requires the use of the elevator. To the right of the elevator is the lobby to the hotel. Check out the beautiful table and the wall. Thank you Ben Paris for the lovely Birthday Brunch Experience.
Nothing bad but nothing that great either! A pretty average experience Food was so ordinary .. I ordered the Ben Paris breakfast ($25) and it tasted like a free continental breakfast made up to look pretty. It didn't taste bad! But it wasn't anything special too, but that has its own charm too, I suppose. You eat exactly what you expect, but nothing more. Service was average as well. Our server never came to check up on us. She was kind, but I had to look for her to order a coffee, get the check, etc.
Loved the ambiance of Ben Paris! The Ben Paris breakfast was also very delicious and filling! I highly recommend making reservations, but if not, you're in close walking distance to Pike Place Market which will make the wait go by super fast or you can simply relax in the State Hotel lobby. The servers were very nice and once ordered, the food came pretty quick! Food was a bit pricey but well worth the last breakfast in Seattle! Also loved the cool post card you get when leaving! read more

We went here for my friend's birthday brunch and it was a very aesthetic place to celebrate her birthday! The drinks were delicious- I got a cappuccino with vanilla syrup and my friends who ordered the Bloody Mary and Espresso Martini said they liked their drinks a lot too! For my main course I ordered the Kale Cauliflower Caesar and I was surprised how much I liked it. I usually don't like raw cauliflower but the cheese , croutons and dressing made it very tasty. Knocked down a star since the food was a little pricey for the amount of food given, but the friendly staff and ambiance will make me come back again soon! read more

Service here was so good, very fast and kind. We got our food in 12 minutes it was all very fresh and hot. My boyfriend got the full breakfast and said it was not something special and could've got it anywhere . I got the yogurt parfait which was lack luster, the potatoes were almost empty inside very interesting , too well done , but the sausage was sooo good , very flavorful and the best part of the entire breakfast. Overall the breakfast was okay . read more

Hello Ayanna,…
I'd like to give them another shot but given how disappointed I was last night I probably won't. We arrived on time for a 6:30 reservation and told they were running 10 minutes behind. That 10 minutes turned into over 40 minutes. No one ever updated us, offered a seat at the bar or even a drink while we waited. Once tables started clearing, people were seated who arrived after we did. We almost left but finally got our table. Service was friendly but very slow. We forgot to order baked clams in the first order and tried to flag the server who didn't come back until after our drinks arrived at which point the clams were sold out. Most of the food was liked by the 4 in our group but I'll say a $31 salad of mostly kale with 5 pieces of grilled shrimp left me disappointed. The restaurant is very pretty and nicely appointed, but being as small as it is with a full lobby was very awkward. We were basically standing over the other diners while they ate which was no fun for anyone. Especially for 40 minutes. They turned away a ton of walkins (no surprise given their location) so I would hope they would reconsider how many reservations they open up to ensure they can meet the expectation of seating time for people who planned accordingly. They'll have no problems filling tables with foot traffic. As it was, our night plans were significantly cut short given our whole experience was over 2 hours - which would have been longer if we hadn't rushed our meal once we sat down. read more

I came here for brunch on a Tuesday afternoon and was quickly seated by the warm hostess. It didn't take me long to decide on ordering the breakfast sandwich. I'm normally hesitant on biscuits because they can be dry but the biscuits that came with this dish were moist and tasty. The chive in them definitely stood out! For the price, the portions are a bit small. However, the potatoes and sausage all paired well together and created a nice meal. read more

Hello Tanashia,…
We stayed at The State Hotel for a weekend trip to Seattle and having Ben Paris as the restaurant and bar on the first floor was such a huge plus. Ben Paris is located just one block away from the pike market place putting it in a very lively location. We came to Ben Paris twice--the first time just to pop in to the bar during the 4-5pm happy hour for drinks and the second time was to have brunch on Sunday. For brunch we ordered: - Kale cauliflower Caesar salad with fried chicken (the kale was dressed well and the fried chicken was so yummy with a slightly spicy seasoning) - Avocado toast - these were also good, and the Fresno chili on them had a sweet taste at first, followed by the spicy kick. Plan to eat these quickly since the bread will get soggy if you let it sit. - Mushroom hash with egg. The sauce this hash is in, is so delicious - for drinks we had the Gin Giffery Juniper & the El Guero. I thought the el guero was a fantastic mezcal cocktail. We loved the food and drinks here. The place is aesthetically pleasing and our waitress and bartender were both so friendly and attentive. I recommend this place for brunch or drinks, but a reservation will be needed on the weekend since they get busy. read more

Hello Kaitlyn,…
I really liked the interior/look and feel of the place, but the food did not "wow" me. I ordered the Ben Paris Breakfast, which comes with yogurt and granola parfait. This was a very standard dish, but the potatoes were very delicious. The Smoked Salmon Omelette was also very good and different than a typical omelette you find at other restaurants. It was very busy and would recommend making reservations. Overall, I would say this is a nice brunch spot to go to with your friends. read more

The best pancakes I have ever had in my entire life! I came here with a friend for brunch on a Saturday, and we were seated pretty quickly per our reservation. This place definitely gets packed, so I recommend making one about 1-2 weeks in advance. I decided to get a coffee and their pancakes, and was blown away by what I received. The pancakes were crispy on the outside but soft on the inside - I didn't even know you could make pancakes like that! The filling was extremely flavorful, and it was just the right amount of sweet, but enough that you could still use syrup. I was shocked at how filling they turned out to be - I was actually so full from just one that I had leftovers for the evening! Our server was extremely friendly and packed my leftovers for me. Plus, he added utensils and extra syrup without me having to ask! It was such a thoughtful touch to the whole experience. Overall, I had a phenomenal time and will absolutely be back! read more

Hi Akanksha,…
I stayed at the hotel here. I poked my head into the restaurant to see if there was a place at the bar but they were packed. The waiter took notice though and offered to bring me a drink in the hotel lobby. He also let us order a snack. We got the rabbit meatballs and the foccacia. The meatballs were $17 and you get like 10 or so in a little cast iron filled with a water cheese sauce. it was good. the seasoning was like italian sausage. a bit heavy on the pepper. the Foccacia, could easily be one of the best things i ate on this trip. butter, salty, well seasoned, CRUNCHY! generous size! i'm sitting here writing this thinking why didn't i order this at least one more time. read more

Food 10/10 Fried chicken sandwich One of the best fried chicken sandwich I ever had, so much flavour, the kimchi and mayo makes a great combo in here. Ricotta pancakes I am not a pancake person but these were recommended so got them and these are the fluffiest pancakes I ever had and the texture is so good. Definitely a must try. Drinks 10/10 Ambience 10/10 House Hot Sauce 200/10 Dont remember if the sauce comes with fries or we ordered it on the side but it was so good we asked what kind of hot sauce it was so that we can buy some from the store but they told is that its house made we told them it was one of the best and the server gave us a bunch to go service 10/10 read more

If you're looking for a weekend brunch spot in a stunning location near Pike's place market then this is your place! Located in the State Hotel you can access it by walking into the front entrance of the hotel or walking in its own private entrance on the side. There is a public parking garage right across the street. There are huge windows and it has a modern chic vibe but people were dressed fairly casually for Saturday brunch. The brunch options were limited. I thought that for such a fancy place they would have more unique menu options but nonetheless the flavor of the dishes was spot on. The andouille sausage and fried potatoes were delicious as was the breakfast sandwich. Our server was friendly but the restaurant became packed after about 15min so we didn't see them often. Afterwards it was a quick 3min walk to Pike's place market. read more

Hi Lisa,…
So good! From craft cocktails to appetizers, mains and desert we dove in deep on this menu! And the service and ambiance were lovely! Just beware the journey to the bathroom if you drink an extra cocktail... it involves an elevator ride and--in my case--asking the front desk to confirm directions! The burrata is a key choice appetizer and came with a crispy prosciutto, which was a delightful added taste and crunch. The fish special was halibut with a citrus greens salad and beluga pearl couscous (or some combo of some of those words... I can't recall it all precisely!). The only down side there was that the fish was a touch dry (overcooked, could have revived if it sat in more sauce to balance); my partner in foodie-ing, my hubs, said it was fine to him. We agreed to disagree! The fries are a MUST, and we polled the two top next to us who said it was their favorite dish. Lemon poppyseed dessert was amazing too! Seattle dining spoils us! read more

Dear Dewayne,…
Came here for dinner on a Friday night. Had a reservation at 7:30, did not have to wait. I was not impressed with Ben Paris. From walking in to walking out the experience felt mediocre. As for the employees, hostess, waiters, and cooks they all looked and spoke like they're overworked or just extremely distracted? Kind of where you feel bad for asking for more, definitely not a smiley warm restaurant. Cleanliness of the restaurant & decor was all nice. Drinks were good but not good enough or worth it to get a second. Now the food was mostly good but inconsistent. What to Order: - Mussels were great! They were on the smaller plates section but they served a great portion size for them! And very yummy. - Hushpuppies were amazing !!!!!! Out of the 6 girls that were there we all really enjoyed them - I did not get to try the duck but my friend enjoyed it What NOT to order: - New York strip. Now I'm not a huge fan of places that cut the steak for you and I'm trying hard not to be rude but that was quite possibly the worst steak I've ever had. It tasted like it had no seasoning where I had to request salt and there was something about the cut of meat that made it extremely tough to chew. Even when I chewed for long periods of time, it was very hard to swallow. One of the bites I had to actually spit it out because I felt like I was about to start choking on it. Very embarrassing. I finished it because at the end of the day I was paying $48 for it. Learned my lesson, sometimes you have to send things back. - Braised short ribs was also not a good choice. Lacked so much seasoning. The carrots on the plate were undercooked. And it was not tender at all! Overall restaurant needs some help when it comes to the environment. Pricing of the food is off for the quality. And they need a lot of help perfecting beef dishes. read more

Pricey but totally worth every penny. Loved the ambiance of this place and the food and drinks were delicious! I especially liked my friend's cheesy mushroom risotto. Very cheesy and there were some paresean crisps for a contrast in texture which I thought was really great. I got the glazed fried chicken with kimchi fried rice. The fried chicken was really really good. Really crispy, sweet, savory, delicious. The kimchi mac n cheese was good too but I would have preferred the kimchi to be warm. It was cold altogether. Not too spicy but added just enough kick. My friend ordered the mussles which she really liked. Very seafoody. For dessert we got the carrot cake and chocolate financier. Both very yummy. I preferred the chocolate financier. The hazelnut ice cream was anazing on top of the chocolate cake. Very decadent. The carrot cake was less sweet but also yummy. The cake itself was dense. I would have liked more frosting in between the layers to offset its density but very yummy nonetheless. read more
Ok the best burgers I've had in a very long time! This was by far my favorite meal while in Seattle. Attached to the State Hotel, this restaurant was one of my favorites! I wasn't expecting the food to be so good. Shrimp Cocktail- Nice big pieces of shrimp. I've never had shrimp cocktail served with cole slaw, pickled green beans, and celery before. ($24) Steamed Clams & Mussels- So delicious! The mussels were a lot bigger than I've had at other places. The sauce was so flavorful! ($25) Chocolate Financier- Chocolatey goodness! The chocolate cake, ice cream, and chocolate mousse were such a great combination. It was very enjoyable. ($14) Everything was either great or amazing! read more

I live a couple blocks away and finally stepped in for a Saturday brunch. This spot is beautiful with open kitchen, curated bar experience, and tasteful decor. The food was incredible. I had the Baked Eggs which were full with flavor, the included chickpeas for protein was a treat, and the eggs were cooked on the skillet instead of on top of tomatoes which was a nice change to this common dish - gave them a cooked crispy bite which I enjoy. My brunch partner had the chicken sandwich- huge sandwich with a pile of fries, it was packed with flavor, pickles provided such a great taste and texture to it (I had a bite!). Tad expensive drink menu (some basic beverages - i.e. mimosa - costed more than a dish). But overall, recommend stopping in and having a drink and bite to eat. To the manager/owner: Only strange experience was the hostess being not exactly the friendliest or welcoming. I didn't make a reservation which seemed to irritate her. She stated it would be a 40min wait, we agreed, left then received a phone call 15min later a table was ready. Was she just trying to detour us from agreeing to the 40min? Because the restaurant looked the same when we returned in terms of open tables / guests. The place is nestled on the corner of Pike & 2nd so you expect traffic and tourist or just parties without reservations. Not sure why there was this layered tension to us getting a table but perhaps she was having a rough day. read more

Came out for a girls-day brunch. Although it was early in my day, the morning in Ben Paris was bright. Their staff was helpful and cheery. It made me feel so welcomed. Their food came out in a timely manner and we were decently spaced apart from other groups. I had ordered a greyhound cocktail and the ricotta pancakes. The cocktail was good, but was too tart for my liking. The waitress offered and helped to make it better for me by adding in some additional juice--thank you! The ricotta pancakes were dense in my stomach, but light and airy to chew. They had a great texture and came with some great creme anglaise sauce. Their not-too-sweet nature was a great balance overall. I would love to come again and share this experience with my other friends. read more
