Took the family here for dinner. Food was great, service was okay wonderful. Prices were PHENOMENAL. highly recommend

Went on Mother's Day , today. We were a party of 7. We had reservations, But waited 40 minutes to Be seated. Orderd meals , waited hour & half for meal. Everyone got meal @ different times. Some orders wrong & cold!!.Owner was there , but refused to come to table & address any customers issues. Maybe Due to Mother's Day , they were BUSY, But Customer service Is Terrible. Owner Arrogant!! read more

This was a great choice I was happy I decided to come here for dinner with my family. This place is very nice with outside seating, flat screen TVs great to watch the games, full bar, upstairs and downstairs, great for large groups, the music level is average which makes it easy to talk and vibe out with the music, the restaurant is clean even the restroom was clean. Our waitress Kizzy was amazing, super friendly, she answer all our questions and explained the menu to us just overall amazing, the food was amazing and delicious also the drinks we all cleaned our plates, I will definitely recommend trying out this restaurant. read more

Experience was great for our first time, server was very attentive, and the food, omg, it tasted like something my grandmother would make, very authentic. The live DJ provided great ambiance to the dining experience. Both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks were perfect. Everybody left with a bellyful. read more

Soulful restaurant with modern ambiance and a staff that is attentive/friendly and gracious. I came here with my mom for my step father's birthday and tabbi took care of us. Greeted us upon entrance and was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered for the corn for the appetizer and for the entree fried fish/ lobster/ and jerk chicken. The food was well seasoned and the presentation was good. At the end they gave my dad a slice of rum cake for his birthday. Honestly, this place is a breathe of fresh air, the manager/ owner came around and was asking for feedback which was really nice. I already recommended this restaurant to all my friends. I will definitely be back... you guys definitely have a regular lol :) read more

I heard that this spot was open from my daughter who actually went in to eat there . She gave good reviews but said it was pricey. I found it on Uber eats and ordered through them one rainy day. The food was good but I expected more for the price. My only negative is I ordered the salad and got a salad that had nothing near to what the menu said. Overall I would try the other dishes or maybe go there to see for myself and yes it is pricey the presentation is awesome though . read more

Went here for a quick bite with my friends and was dismayed by the service and food quality. I've had food from this restaurant before and it was great. The service, however, was a lot to be desired. The server was rude, non-accommodating, combative tone, and argumentative. The food was cold, drinks were watered down, and just not up to par like previous visits. I'm gravely disappointed in both customer service as well as the food quality. Please do better as my friends and I once held this place in high esteem. ' read more

Came here on a Saturday night. There was no wait. There was a DJ playing a beautiful mix of dancehall, afrobeats , and soca. The music volume was appropriate, I did not have to yell over it to speak to my friend. The decor is beautiful. The staff is amazing. Kezzia is such a sweetheart. The first table we sat at was rocking. Before I could say anything she noticed and offered me anothe table. The drinks are good. The food took a long time. I didn't mind because I was enjoying my company. But if I was hungry it would have been annoying. I had their Reggae Pasta with Jerk Chicken. It had a sweet flavor. I didn't like it at all. I hate wasting food so I took most of it home to season and eat later. My friend had the ox tail and enjoyed it. I would come back again for happy hour and try another dish. read more

I had the small plate of oxtails with sautéed veggies, rice and peas along with plaintains. The oxtails were flavored and stewed so well they bones were coming off the meat. Food tasted fresh rice was soft not hard. I will definitely be making another order from this place. I should have gotten the large plate. read more

This is a really cute spot. The staff is extremely friendly and the drinks are really good. My meal however, was pretty bleh. The escovitch salt fish was EXTREMELY salty. Like they took it straight out of the bag and cooked it without boiling any of the salt out ... given that it was just the appetizer, i didn't complain. The reggae pasta was pretty tasty though . Overall, I'd like to give this place a second chance and i think I'll try the salmon next time around. read more

Staff was friendly and professional. Conch fritters were delicious! My husband really enjoyed the oxtails. Also had jerk chicken and curry chicken. Every thing was tasty. Will definitely go back! read more

Great vibe on Sunday evenings! Live band performing and buckets of red stripe. Stopped by to grab some take out and was very pleased. The chef is amazing and the bartender is on point with the rum punch. read more

Absolutely terrible service. The jerk salad was a joke. People were waiting for almost a hour for there food. And it wasn't even good. I wouldn't invite a date there. read more

Came for a birthday dinner, the night started off well with us getting our drinks on time; Then it slowly went downhill from there. We had two wait staff who didn't seem to be communicating with each other, one would come and get drink / food orders then several minutes later the other would come and do the same thing. Appetizers came out at different stages so some people would be done while other were still waiting or didn't even get their food . Main meals took nearly an hour for us to get, granted it was a large party but I don't think waiting almost a hour to get food is acceptable . On top of the fact that people in the party left and had to take their food to go. overall, the food was good. We had the mussels, lobster tail with potatoes and veggies, chicken Rasta pasta, ackee and salt fish with plantain chips, fish cakes, chicken and waffles , curry goat ( cooked very tender ), salmon with veggies . drinks we tried included the rum punch, black love, sparkling champagne. read more

I attended a wonderful event there for brunch today and was completely disappointed by the staff working at this establishment. The kitchen served food by table instead of by orders placed when all parties had not arrived or ordered at the same time. Myself and other patron who arrived hours prior were left waiting for our food while others who arrived much later were eating already or finishing. When this was brought to the manager on duty Demetrius he was condescending and tried to blame the host. I was very disappointed in the lack of accountability and responsibility the the manager took for the way the orders were handled. His attitude was dismissive and downright rude. I will not be going back!!!!! read more

I visited this restaurant to meet up a few friends for happy hour. Location wise, since I don't live in the area, it's pretty out of the way. But it is a great addition to the area as far as food selection and entertainment purposes. The ambiance is very chill; the music was good, diverse, took over the room but you were still able to hold a conversation. The service was spot on whether you were seated inside or at one of their tables outside. The time that I visited the Bartender was also helping waiting the tables but he was so friendly and patient because it was a group of us. He suggested amazing drinks to try on the menu and the food choices on the menu. I'm pretty sure it's all delicious but a person could only eat but so much. I ended up ordering the Reggae Pasta with chicken and a Jamaican Crawler (Wray and Nephew, Madori, and Pineapple juice). I also tried the Bedroom Bully (Hennessy, Rum, Jack Daniels, Triple Sec, Orange juice and Pineapple Juice) for some reason it just spoke to me. The drinks were great and the food was so flavorful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others and can't wait to go back myself. read more

This place has potential but service sucks..the place looks good but the wait on a slow night for food was terrible..this is my second time coming here and it will be my last read more

You know when you go to a place call bellyful you expect to leave with your belly full!! I travel all the way from NJ to come to this place to wait one whole hour and not get my food as I watched 4 other people come after and get their food. Completed BS! Here we are trying to support black small businesses and this happens. Shame on you BellyFul! I will never go back there or recommend anyone to go there. Might as well go to Topaze up the block! Because we ended up there and go food right away! #shutdownbellyful read more

The spot is great -- food is reasonable. Service is "so-so" because it is good at times, then not so great at other times. There is an odd way that they prepare escovitch-fish! The fish is delicious, but the tend to mix the sauteed accompaniment with "cabbage" that is disappointing. The cornmeal festivals -- when fresh ARE super delicious -- when stale - tend to absorb plenty oil because of the obvious reheating--I suppose. Question is: Would I go back there or recommend it to anyone for a meal? YES, I would. But I would be circumspect of what I order. I cautiously recommend this restaurant because -- GREAT things and experiences are not alien to the original intent and, like everything else, time could help them improve....good luck read more

I am sitting at this location as I write this review. The wait time for EVERYTHING is absolutely ridiculous. They are very short staffed! There is only one person taking orders, making drinks and serving the customers. I arrived at 12:30pm and it is now 3:04pm while I write this and 2 out of the 4 people who are with me who ordered have yet to receive their meals. For appetizers we ordered 2 saltfish accras and 1 shrimp skewer. Instead of the skewer we were brought Jerk chicken. They drinks which was simple (3 mimosas and 1 ginger ale) took almost an hour to arrive after ordering. The only positive side to this is that my order (chicken with red velvet waffles) that came out actually tasted good and was presented well (hence the one star). This place needs to hire more help if they want to continue and thrive because this is not the way. I shall not not be coming back and I would not recommend others to come either. read more

The staff is fun and friendly, but the food is bland and not worth the money. The rum punch is good, though.

So I ate at Bellyful and now I am at work wishing I had some Ackee w/ chips and codfritters! It was amazing and I go to all the restaurants. Thank you, Lizzy for being attentive and sweet. She even asked our names and got acquainted with us read more

decent food however the wait time is egregious. Dont ever dine in, it seems they only have 1 chef and 1 stove there

Only giving a 3 because of music volume. Checked out this spot because of Groupon and definitely worth a try. The food is quite unique & service was good with some very attractive decor. Only downside was visiting on a Wednesday about lunch time & it felt like I was sitting a midnight party club because of a DJ & volume, but come here & have some codfish fritters & jerk shrimp skewers. read more

Can't speak to the quality of the food because after 50 minutes of waiting for my food to emerge from the kitchen- I left. I couldn't understand why an order of oxtail (which should be pre- cooked) and snapper would take so long especially because there were only 2 other people in the restaurant waiting for service. No explanation was given and no attempts to bring ANYTHING to the table to accommodate the hungry patrons. Also- DJ please turn the volume DOWN! If i can't hear the server or the company I'm with- then you probably need to adjust the music volume. I will never return. read more

Great time here! Good deal for happy hour and clientele is pretty nice. Hidden gem in Brooklyn, think there are steps being taken to promote. I would definitely put this on one of my top happy hours spots to go to in Brooklyn. read more

HORRIBLE. The employees don't wear masks. The staff yells and shouts all over your food in the kitchen while screaming curse words to songs out loud. They forget to bring out your order. & show no remorse for their faults. They also eat some of your food while it waits for you in the back. Bad management as well. Don't waste your time in this small Shack. Go to footprints, suede, Caribbean social, topaz, sugar cane, Negril or my favorite KOKOMO . you'll regret here. Also the food has no flavor or seasoning.. read more

This place does not live up the name "Bellyful"" So I placed an order for a family size curry goat, a family size oxtail, snapper and a kids meal. They person who took my order was very courteous which i like, the portion size however is a different story. The meal size for four seem like it was supposed to me a taste tester for my 6 yr old child, the curry goat has so much bones that after we picked out the bones it wasn't enough to be a large order of curry. The fish was broken because they didn't not put it in a proper container. It was a horrible experience, when i called the restaurant it conveniently happened that i place the order wrong. what happened to the customer being right, wasn't it her responsibility to advise me that I need to add more to the order as a first time customer. Then she passed me on to the manager when basically said that all they can do is add the missing item to my order and they redeliver. when they delivery guy showed up they side orders that was redelivered was smaller than the first set of side order delivers. My take on this experience, even if they were offering me free food for life I wouldn't accept because first impression last. given the covid-19 pandemic and with us trying to support local businesses, this could have been handled differently. The Manager has a nasty attitude, the high prices to small portion sizes is the perfect example of "HOW TO LEGALLY ROB" your customers. read more

Ok I was so disappointed I had to leave the review before I left...first thing is the bathroom was very clean. Now to the food...we ordered the BBQ wings...mistake not good at all...then ordered the oxtails which tasted burnt like they were reheated but you could taste the burntness in them...the curry chicken was dry...the service was good though! read more

It was late after a poetry show and my friend and I were craving soul food. We got the best of both worlds Caribbean and soul! The ambience was African and the music was Soca and Reggae! The first thing that caressed my tongue was the best sorrel I have ever had in my life! And I am Caribbean! Your eyes will close, your toes will curl and you will dance in your seat. Whoever is your server, you will instantly love them because your taste buds are about to go on a journey. Then the food comes! I ordered goat roti, cabbage, plantains, macaroni pie and jerk shrimp. The dancing continues. Our server was lovely as she was equally beautiful Janelle great personality to help accent the place. It is a diamond in the rough and was the perfect way to end the evening! Please check it out and thank me later *wink*. read more

Tasty curried vegetable roti. My son had the barbecue wings and was very pleased. The fruit punch was also a hit. They have an extensive drinks list. I ordered wine though. They have two TVs so he was able to watch the game. There was a dj playing reggae and R&B. Glad we found this spot on our first night in Brooklyn read more

First time here tonight with my fiancé and I was very pleased. Small outside, covered eating area. Menu isn't huge, but true Caribbean. My fiancé is Trinidadian, living in Sheepshead, he was ecstatic. The liquor menu is very vast. The restaurant isn't huge and they only had one waitress. Service was kind of slow, but she was doing her thing. I would have gave 4 stars because of how slow the service was, but my lord the food is amazing!! He had the snapper and I the garlic salmon. Out of this world. The food was slightly pricy, but a plate full of delicious food. The music was slightly too loud. Bathroom big and clean. We will for sure be back again. read more

Amazing food, amazing drinks made by SIX. Atmosphere is cool, chill vibes. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants some great food and drinks also let me not forget good music. Celebrated Valentine's day at Bellyful. The ambiance was very nice. A saxophonist played that evening and a D.J. played music. My hubby and I ordered our meals and although it wasnt crowded, we had to wait 40 minutes for salads. The entrees were ok, however, the drinks were great. Vibe and staff was good but the food needs a little improvement. It was bland and the mussel portion for the appetizer was disappointing.

New favorite spot. Great food and portions! Loved the curry goat, leftovers tasted just as good the following day. Sorrel was good too. If you are tired of the wait and bad customer service at Footprints or the crowd at Sugarcane and no parking, then come get your bellyful. read more

I don't give reviews unless I tried the place more than once. And the second time around I was not satisfied. Jerk chicken was little rubbery but still had food taste so I gave a star. The chicken and waffles although weren't as described on the menu, "red velvet waffles" still was good not perfect the fried chicken lacked flavor but the breading was good. I ordered two days ago their curry goat and it was actually good compare to other Jamaican spots I've had in the area. I didn't know it came with rice they should input that in the menu so I order rice and peas and it didn't taste good at all. I don't know what it was maybe to grainy what saved the meal was their Mac cheese. It had good flavor although it lacked the typical crisp cheese on top. However, this time around there Mac looked like throw up on a plate. Looks like they reheated leftovers and sloped some mozzarella to melt in the oven before sending it out. Disappointed. read more

The staff was very welcoming. Nice to go to a place where you feel recognized. The food and drink off the hook.

Great Happy Hour!!!! The bartender Unique was amazing. I would recommend trying the wings from this place as well as their codfish fritters. Service was A1! Unfortunately, i couldn't give this place 0 stars. We went in for a quick drink but sadly this became a 1hr and 15 min task. When we ordered our drinks our bartender was unsure of the drink names and how to make them. She was also unsure of where the drink ingredients was located. My sisters received their drinks 30-40 mins before i received mine, and that was ONLY after i changed my drink becaus they waited 30 mins, and then proceeded to tell me they did not have mt ingredients! When it was time for the bill they gave us a $99 bill that belonged to a completely different party. He then corrected it. The business is a nice decor and cool vibe but the service can do A LOT BETTER. Or please hire someone that actually has bartending experience. SERVICE IS EVERYTHING! Thank You, Unsatisfied Customer. read more
