Moved to a different apartment in the same complex from building J to building E. Moved everything little ourselves but needed help with the furniture. One couch, one recliner, one tv stand, a large tv, small tv, coffee table, two end tables, a twin bed, desk, queen bed, large dresser, tall mattress, washer and dryer and two boxes ran us $450 in the hole. We were told that there was no reason that a move of less than 500 feet would take more than two hours including disassembly and reassembly. Took the movers over three hours to move these items after we were told we needed to disassemble everything ourselves and they refused to move the washer and dryer unless we disconnected them ourselves. The movers did not bring tools and actually told us to hurry up and dissemble items. Things were thrown in our apartment, not even in the correct rooms so we had to end up moving all of our furniture ourselves anyway. We were told at the time of booking that they would disassemble and reassemble furniture as well as move the washer and dryer without issue. The movers took twenty minutes to walk over and chat with their "driver" to bring the truck around to even begin moving but charged us for that time as well. I have moved from Casa Grande and Chandler to Phoenix multiple times and moving has never cost me more than $300 including disassembly and reassembly and stopping off at a storage unit and a house. I received two quotes $120 less than the quote given with the same insurance policy and number of movers. I asked if they would split the difference reducing their cost by $60 so I could keep them as my movers. They declined so I canceled out of principle given I couldn't cancel penalty free given they were closed on the holiday. read more

Where should I start? Arrived promptly at 8am, then had to leave to pick up 3rd person who had locked keys in car. 4th person was a no show. So, it was probably around 8:20 when they got started. First stop, no issues, 2nd stop, storage, OK, except one of the movers had bad knees and couldn't really help. Broke a small nightstand. 3rd and final stop is where the fun begins. They were rushing because lead person had another job to get to and they didn't anticipate it taking as long as it did with limited number of movers, etc. Left several pieces of furniture still wrapped up. Was going to leave 75 and 65 inch TV in boxes. I explained to them I am by myself and there is no way I can get those out of the boxes. Was going to leave my bed unassembled as well. Did leave the guest room bed unassembled because we couldn't figure out the center bar. Lots of damages and I believe it's because they were rushing to get it done. Two of them were very hard workers so I can't fault them for that; however it is not my problem that your company did not plan accordingly and that the lead had another job to go to. I will change my rating only after I see what their claims department does. Their compensation so far was an appeasement credit as well as a "goodwill" credit which all totaled about $150? Seriously. Read and understand Bellhops damage policy..... We enlisted Bellhops to move our home furnishings over two days. Day two went fine, however day one crew broke a side rail on our beautiful mesquite dining room table. This table has a one inch solid wood top and 3/4 inch sides. The table weighs in at about 100 lbs, is handcrafted and strong. I suspect a 225 lb mover decided to stand on the table to make packing boxes easier and his weight and movement cracked one of the side rails. My wife and I are devastated. Bellhops made a small monetary offer that in no way covers the damage to our piece of furniture. We are also stuck without someone to repair it. I urge anyone using Bellhops to consider insurance on any prize pieces of furniture. read more

Warning! Steer clear of this unprofessional and unethical company. Where do I begin? First, they took an unauthorized withdrawal of $483 from my account when I made it explicitly clear that I was only paying the initial deposit for a friend. When they showed up, they were clueless as to our agreement to deliver to two locations, and they refused to do so. After loading everything onto the truck, they threatened to unload it unless we agreed to just one delivery location. When we expressed our frustration with their failure to act according to our agreement, they threatened to unload everything. So we said "OK just deliver it to one location and we would deal directly with their management." But they spitefully decided to dump the whole job and took everything off the truck, and we were forced to find another moving company. The manager called me and said they were willing to take off one hour, but still charge for two. I had to contact my bank and file a fraud claim because they were never authorized in the first place to take the money out of my account. These folks may advertise bargain basement prices, but they also deliver bargain basement service. Do not trust them, they will screw you over with impunity and leave you hanging - they do not care. read more

I don't know where to start! I can't say enough great things about Bellhops. I feel horrible that we choose the hottest time of year poor guys we're drenched by the end of the day but never once complained about the heat or the fact we lived on the third floor. Hope they enjoyed the ice and water we had out for them. Our team was QUICK. Like we finished about 40 min early quick. We were so impressed by their speed & nothing broke! They even wrapped some of the furniture in blankets to protect it. We definitely will be recommending Bellhops to anyone in the future & will use in our next moves. Okay here we go. Ordered a Groupon. Called bellhop to schedule appt. Needed a 10 dollar deposit. Used our stimulus card. Card came back denied the next day. Called bellhop to find out why. Spoke to Ayana was told to pay when the guys get there the next day. Asked if she was sure she said yes. Asked again are you sure we are set because for some reason the card is declined. She said I am good to go. The next day No or . Called bellhop. Where is the truck car or bus..Your service was cancelled due to no deposit. WTH I called and was told to pay today. Look can the guys come later. No they have other slots. Can they come tomorrow. Yes ..let me pay with my Chime card. 178 a hour. .wait I already bought the Groupon for 200. I only need them for that hour. Okay it's a minimum of 1 hour. Okay just run my card. Hold on. I moved my money from that card and left exactly enough for them to run for one hour. He come back and say your card declined I said why are you trying to run for over 500 dollars well the maximum hours would be 3. I said I already bought a Groupon. Only need you 1 hour. Just cancel let me get my money back from Groupon. Called Groupon.we can not give you your money because Bellhop scratched the code. BEWARE. We had items broken and when our claim was NOT filed WITHIN FIVE DAYS of our move (and mind you, we were never notified of their policy, neither in person nor in writing because the service was provided by the buyer of our property), it was DENIED. When we reached out to the company, they stood by their ridiculous FIVE DAY POLICY. When we checked normal claim filing policy for other movers, we found it to be NINE MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF THE MOVE. The service was extremely poor. The workers did not place the boxes in the appropriate rooms. They just stuffed everything into the garage. We were left with a HUGE mess. Go with any other mover!!! Found a Groupon for these guys to help me move from one apartment to the next and I'm so glad I did! The deal was pretty good and the two guys that helped with the move (Faris and Ely) were very energetic and jumped right in on getting the truck loaded and unloaded. They were very careful in handling things and everything was moved without a scratch or issue. They even picked up a pizza and brought it for me and my buddy which I thought was a nice touch to their service. They helped cut moving time in half so the total price of the Groupon, and the little extra time we went over, was well worth the price! It would've taken twice as long to move without their help! A half hour after my move was scheduled to start Bellhops informed me they did not have a truck. But "don't worry" they told me as they are renting a U-haul. In another half hour - now an hour past my move start time - they told me the driver does not have a credit card to rent the U-Haul. Bellhops wanted me to drive to Glendale (45 minutes away) to pay for the U-haul which they would reimburse. Truck finally arrives at 11:30 and move took less than 2 hours. They are charging me for a longer time because they claim a "Pro" was onsite even though he did not do anything as it was a single person without a truck. And I even have the U-Haul receipt showing less than 3 hours total time inclusive of pickup and return of the U-Haul. Unreliable and not honest in their time charging. Stay away !! read more

Last week I scheduled 2 movers for 3 hours for a 1br move for today, Friday the 13th. One mover showed up with a truck and a driver. The mover was a young man and very small in stature. The 2nd mover was a no show. I called to complain and the offered to reschedule for Sunday (2 days later!!!) with a 20% discount. They finally offered 25%. When the movers showed up to do my move they didn't bring a truck with them, when I specifically told them I needed to move locations, after 30 mins of the movers on the phone with the company I went to U-Haul and rented a truck. In mind this was memorial day weekend and no trucks were available I got lucky with the one I got. I come back and they start moving the furniture I needed them to move, well another problem existed there, they told me 3 pieces of furniture were too heavy to move and that I needed to take the stuff out of the drawers to help them move it to the truck I rented. Then at the new house is a two story they wouldn't carry up the heavy furniture up to the second floor and just left it in my living room. I had an immediate need for some muscle when I found out my Pod contents could not be delivered for two weeks after being told 3-7 days. I quickly searched for help and had recently changed my Groupon to the Phoenix area when I came upon a Groupon for Bellhops. I read the fine print, bought one and had help two days later when I needed them. Alec and Gabe, my two strong helpers were introduced to me via email, they arrived on time, worked efficiently, were very polite and personable. They loaded my belongings per my instructions and unloaded at two locations in two hours and that included 14 miles from load to unload location! I would use them again in a minute. I hate to be the only person throwing cold water on this company, but frankly, they were awful. I understood college students would be assisting me in my move, but I was expecting two strong men (or more) to assist with the move. Instead, Bellhops sent two scrawny teenage boys, each barely 130 pounds, who simply did not have the physical strength to move our furnishings. I informed Bellhops that I was moving the furnishings of a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house, including "some heavy file cabinets." The boys were obviously not briefed of the scope of the move. The lead told me that he was anticipating moving a small apartment, not a 3BR townhouse, as I clearly indicated on the instructions. Because the boys weren't very strong, they were not able to move the file cabinets without damaging the staircase in our home. There are two large gouges in the staircase that needed repaired. This cost $50 to repair. The boys also removed one of the file drawers from a fireproof file cabinet and were not able to put it back. I couldn't either, and so I had to get the cabinet repaired for another $50. In my service request, I mentioned: "There is a large desk that needs disassembled and moved." The boys were not able to disassemble or move the desk. It is obvious that they were not briefed of this task. As a result I had to call another mover to disassemble, move, and reassemble the desk. This cost me an additional $300. One of the boys damaged my Honda Accord when backing it up. He backed it into a mailbox, damaging the left rear bumper. What was remarkable is the even after the left rear tire started going over the curb, behind which the mailbox was located, he didn't stop. He continued to back up until he hit the mailboxes. This cost $500 to repair. I was later advised that Bellhops doesn't allow movers to operate a client's motor vehicle, but I didn't know this policy at the time. I could go on, but you get the idea. To Bellhop's credit, when I complained about the service, they didn't charge me for the move. That's the only reason I give them two stars. Bottom line: Bellhops seems like a great service for a small move, like moving the furnishings from a college dorm room. But if you've got a houseful of furniture, find another solution. read more

My first time using a service like this. We needed to load a 20x10 storage unit into a 26' moving truck. I scheduled 2 Bellhops for 2 hours. They showed up on time, were both very personable, got right to work, didn't need direction, knew how to load a truck, didn't destroy the items we loaded, and only stopped to grab a bottle of water (it's Arizona)! There was far more stuff in the storage unit than we anticipated and it ended up taking an hour longer than I booked them for, but they kept working! I brought water and Gatorade for these guys and they were very appreciative. If you live near a college town, these guys are the way to go! I seriously can't say enough good things about them!
