We were working overtime on SATURDAY 9/20/14, 15 of us ordered a sheet and 50 wings from Bella at 5:45pm for a 730 delivery time, I explained that we only had a 30 min break and it had to be there at 730. 7:40 comes and no order, I call and told it would be there in "just a minute", 7:50 I call back and tell them to call their driver back as we now have no time to eat and "Thanks for Nothing and Ruining our dinner" At 7:57..3 min before we have to go back to work the driver shows up, he said he had a stop before ours. It's obvious when I called at 7:40, that he was just getting out the door with the 2 deliveries and I was lied to about when it would arrive. Our company has over 200 employees that routinely order out, a memo is going up on the bulletin board to NEVER order from Bella again. This was totally inexcusable from a business. read more

I've never seen a staff try and place blame on everyone they possibly can to avoid responsibility. Waited an hour for a pizza, got nothing, went in, checked in, and was told "a few minutes." After 20 minutes I sent my mom in, who was told "we asked if everyone was helped." When she replied that I had been in there, she was treated with hostility from not only the cashier, but the owner. Owner also remarked that the system being faulty "wasn't her problem," again trying to run from responsibility. Bellas pizza is definitely a good pizzaria in this small town. I highly recommend the garlic parmasean and mild chicken wings. Pizza tastes great however it does have just a little bit too much sauce (cheese and pepperoni). Subs are ok. I do not think they are mind blowing delicious. Just a standard sub like at any other pizzaria. Last steak hoggie we had was greasy, bun was soggy, looked like a hot mess but didnt taste too bad. If you plan to dine in i will say its a bit of a wait. Most times I have dined in I would never get both pizza and wings served at the same time. Sometimes you can see the servers scrambling around between the take out and dining area. Little things that can be fixed with a bit more communication and organization. Overall food has a good taste and I am a loyal customer of there pizza and garlic parm chicken wings. read more

I ordered a assorted sub, which I have in the past, it was made with one piece of the 3 types of meat. I've been a lifelong fan...until now. I can honestly say that my past 2 visits have been unfavorable. Our fries were warm at best, and our subs looked like we were bothering someone back there in the kitchen. It was as if they were mad that they had to make us a sandwich. We were too hungry and in a hurry to send them back, so we remade them ourselves at the table. Three words. Garlic.Parmesan.Wings. If you get nothing else from Bella, get those. They are crispy, buttery, cheesy with a flavor of something I can't quite put my finger on. I normally max out on 4/5 wings but the garlic parm wings? I can eat at least 10. So good. Their pizza also deserves an honorable mention. I have only had the party pizza but the crust is thick, chewy and flavorful, the cheese is nice and thick and there is the perfect amount of pizza grease to make it great but not sickening. this is my go to, first pizza I get when I come home to visit. Not NY style, not stuffed. It has a rising crust but it's still thin. Not really folding pizza, maybe closer to what some call Sicilian. I love the sauce and I consider myself kind of a pizza snob. read more

Just recently moved out here to Lackawanna.. I'm very close to this location,ordered from here and received delivery at my address a few times no problem... On March 23rd ( Sunday ) called to place an order over the phone just to be called back and told they have never delivered to my address( not true at allll).I also work at OLV nursing facility and have ordered from my job as well.,,.MY CARD WAS STILL CHARGED FOR A TRANSACTION THAT NEVER TOOK PLACE . The manager was rude, & inappropriate and speaking with a false sense of arrogance, he needs to be told A refund is not the same as services never rendered.. The manager told me there was nothing he could do and that I would have to wait the next couple of days. I explained he is not caring and very crass, he repeated the same rhetoric, offered no apology for the inconvenience, did not adjust his tone or try to make it better.. He did not want to listen and was making moves to end the call without any resolve. I had to speak very quickly to alert him that my money allows me to be on the phone longer and the fact that he took my money from me allows me to be on the phone longer. he still hung up ... Chase bank graciously stepped up and informed me that more and more merchants do not realize situations like this are to be handled delicately and swift! TERRIBLE TREATMENT FROM MANAGEMENT... I have experience in management and I have never treated anyone the way I was treated this evening. I go above and beyond that is what management is suppose to do and you are representing Bella Pizza.. have an obligation on both ends... Not sure how I am a resident of Lackawanna but can not get service but will hold money that does not belong to them.. Had a similar situation happen with skip the dishes and my money was refunded back to my card instantly. Lived here since I was 9 and even now I keep coming back despite where I've moved to.

I wish there was a 4 1/2 button... Great Pizza back in the day, and then something happened??????????????????????????????????????????????????????. I have been eating Bella Pizzeria offerings since the latter 60's... I was a bit young to remember it much before then when it was like a family thing and the Basil guys (neighborhood friends) Joseph, Tony, Ralph and I think even Carmen and other kids I knew worked there when it was next door to the Dairy Queen... and remember when the Sub shop opened in the part of the building that was attached... THAT was when Bella's kicked ASH!!! Well, the Basil kids lived on Cleveland, and maybe the GLORY DAYS of Bella's...So, perhaps that is why the Pizzeria moved to the lot where the lumber yard that seemed incapable of not catching on fire was torn down and eventually became the current home of the Bella Pizzeria. (and a storage place) (I do know for sure, in 1981 I moved to the desert and learned of other foods that should be made as famous as Pizza... I miss that) AND, ...since I moved back to NY in 2008, Bella's has become so freaking unpredictable, I have become very hesitant to recommend it to folks I knew, know and want to get to know,,,, For a while I tried to speak to the "owner?" Dave. The first few calls/emails seemed to make a difference in the quality (or just the service)...?? I believe he believes that I believe things are happening that are just unbelievable, believe it or believe what you want to believe. No, I think he simply sent coupons or something, but the quality did not improve.... and to this day, it is still hit or miss if we get a NYC "type" piece of THIN crust (but no where as good as a real NYC Pizza (Manhattan - a place on 9th street near the Doubleday, and their Ravioli ROCKS the world to the place it should go when you have just experienced one of the greatest things you could) or a nice thick OVER-COOKED choke on the crust,... ??? ...or once on a Heaven's day, the wonderful chewy pizza with the nice thick bread-like crust around the edge of the pizza with the toppings just barely floating on a sea of the most wonderful lightly seasoned tomato sauce covered with Mozzarella cheese made by Angels and pepperoni made by the devils who understood that the spice must be right and sliced to entice. HOWEVER... The "quality" is no longer consistent... it seems that each, "Dough Tosser", "Sauce Applier", "Topper Application Assistant", "Oven Inserter/Remover/Slicer", "Box Inserter", and so on, have stepped away from the tradition, and decided they (AFTER 16 years of life and three months of experience topping pizzas, seem to know better than what was established 50 years ago,and continued as such for at least 30 or so years until something changed... But... at the end of the day, you still have cold left-over Pizza, and perhaps some wings, and depending on when you wake up, you have either a late Breakfast or Lunch. I have a feeling I will never see the OLD Bella's return... TOO much complacency to get a decent, consistently good pizza like we did a hundred or forty some years ago, let alone the 50+ years I personally remember what a good Pizza tasted like, (Of course I also remember Snoopy's Dog House (the building is still there) and that wonderful "fry bread" (I think they called it "Fried Dough"... and all the other cool treats they had,,,, Gotta go, I hear Mr. Softy coming around the corner... I ordered pizza and wings not burnt and over cooked and I received a burnt pizza and over cooked wings and the manager would not refund my money. I had to file several complaints with the BBB and am still waiting to be refunded. The owner could not be reached conveniently of course and nobody would give their real names. I would recommend this pizzeria to anyone in the area, whether it's to dine in or takeout. They do have delivery, but there is a charge. Well first and foremost I've always liked Bella Pizza but today I've probably had the worst service I could have possibly gotten. I ordered my large pizza and 20 wings at 4:34 I was told 20 mins. I get there a little early as food is usually done early. I get there and wait beyond a woman who orders food at the counter then I pay for mine. As I sit there she receives her food before me. So I figure I'll wait another few mins like the girl ( a young blonde haired girl) probably was waiting for something as I'm trying to justify the wait time in my head. I make eye contact with her multiple times showing that I'm still here. But she just looks away grabs her tips and leaves then I finally reached my anger point and ask someone else and she grabs the food that has been sitting there for 20mins apologizes and I leave the time was now 5:20. By the time I finally get my wings and pizza home my pizza is luke warm and my wings soggy. I would've complained there but I was already too frustrated. Been eating here since being a kid. Pizza is great if ordered well done to avoid so much grease, wings are great if you ask for extra crispy, and wraps are decent also. Never too long a wait and always solid. When I didn't live locally I definitely craved some of this pizza but after returning to it not as impressed anymore.
