I recently got Large pizza and double order of wings from Bella pizzeria.The wings were fine, but the pizza was burnt. We both tried a slice, didn't finish it because it was not good .So I call and I spoke to the manager named Steve . I explained the problem and he said to me , you ate 2 slices there is nothing I can do. I said you mean to tell me you can't just make me 6 new slices that are not burnt and you can have the burnt ones back? Steve said no you should've returned the whole pizza when you saw it was burnt.He was very condescending. So I said you shouldn't have sent out a burnt pizza it looks nothing like the pizza on your website .So I explained I wanted to try it and that's how I found out it wasn't good. I didn't want a refund I just wanted fresh slices that tasted good and weren't burnt.I couldn't believe my ears when he refused to do nothing about it. I've worked at many restaurants and the managers would have sent the customer a whole new pizza without returning the burnt slices.The end result was Steve told me I've made my decision your getting nothing have a nice day and hung up. I'm not sure if the owner of Bella's pizzeria knows what a bad manager they have . I was shocked at how poorly I was treated.We didn't eat the burnt pizza I threw it out,so basically we payed almost $50.00 for 20 wings.Well they lost a loyal customer. My co workers and I have been looking for a new pizza place that offers something that we all enjoy. One of them lives around the corner from Bella's and suggested we try it because she enjoys their food. This was a good call from her, I was completely satisfied with my pizza. It was made exactly the way I asked for it and the sauce on the pizza was sooooooo good!! The customer service was good and the food was still hot and tasty by the time I got back to work. I wasn't able to finish my entire personal pizza so I refrigerated what I had left and I enjoyed the cold pizza just as much as the hot pizza.. We also had some fries, CRINKLE CUT, those were AMAZING! There are not many places who sell crinkle cut fries so this was a major plus for me.. This is a must try for pizza.. Came here on impulse when I was sort of in the area. They have a large space and you can eat in or takeout. The takeout section is different from eat in. That's nice if you are eating in. Slices are $2.75 each I think. Two slices, one cheese and one pepperoni totaled $5.50. Not the cheapest in town but not the priciest either. And at least they do slices. It was fresh. It was hot. But it was undercooked. For me anyway. And under-seasoned, for me anyway. It also sort of sat in my stomach for a long time. Think it was the undercooked dough. Buffalo has so many pizza options everybody can have their own fav. Mine remains Chucks. But I'd come here again if in the area (near the Botanical Gardens). My fiance and I made it habit to order from Bella's about once a week for 4yrs because we like to support businesses in our local community, usually their food was pretty decent and the mistakes they would make would be forgiveable and not worth mentioning even though it happened often. Recently our picky eating son got into eating tacos and loved getting them from Bella's but they HAD to be made a certain way. On our last order we placed with them we ordered two beef tacos which were supposed to have extra cheese and lettuce on them. The tacos seemed to us as though they were light on the beef, but they certainly didn't have any lettuce or extra cheese on them. There may have been cheese, I've worked in a pizzeria myself and I know that the cheese can blend into the shell and not look like it's there, but it didn't look like there was any cheese to me at all. My fiance also ordered two chicken wraps that were also light on the meat as well, and we definitely order their food enough to know what they usually look like so after spending $50 and being disappointed in the errors and my son refusing to eat the tacos without extra cheese and lettuce, we decided to call and see if they'd fix the tacos and we mentioned that they seemed much smaller than usual (about half the size they usually are!) After taking the food back to the store, the manager "Dan" proceeded to take the food around to his employees to ask them if the portions were correct and the employees of course defended their shotty work (he didn't know himself if they were correct?!) He didn't even bother listening to the fact that the tacos were wrong and needed lettuce and extra cheese, and "resolved" the issue by refunding our money and making a huge scene and screaming at us to leave his restaurant or he'd call the police, which was absolutely unnecessary and dramatic. Honestly these issues are so minor that I'd have never taken the time to write a review because they do have great food when made well/correctly, however the managers unprofessional attitude with handling this matter and then refusing us any service in the future because we complained about something once in the 4yrs we've been regular weekly customers is the behavior of a grown man child throwing a tantrum because we weren't complacent about their mistakes like we always have been in the past when something was messed up. That for me alone is something hard to come by because my family and I are so picky. We ordered the Hawaiian Pizza & traditional hot wings. It was delicious! Bella has always been my favorite pizza place (close tie with Franco's) but lately I'm dissatisfied with every single pizza we get. The last few times the crust has been so thin you can't even hold it to eat it because it's too floppy and everything falls off. The time before our pizza was extremely burnt. The time before that it was extremely undercooked to where I had to toss it in my oven. I've tried to not complain about any businesses at all during the pandemic because I know most are understaffed and overworked but I'm also spending my money and I can excuse one or two bad experiences but there have been many now. Bella does have fantastic tasting pizza and for that reason they are extremely popular and I'm wondering if maybe they can't keep up with their extreme amount of business because no care is ever put into their food anymore and that's not an issue I used to have with them. I don't know what they use in their sauce, but it's great, the cheese is just....indescribably good, and those breadsticks! Like not 'here's a pizza dough we cut into strips' breadsticks. They are actual breadsticks with a great seasoning. I have no problem traveling out of my way to go here. The other great part, it doesn't matter which location you go to, the quality is the same. Lackawanna is the original so it's more of a get in and get out location that can be jam packed! The Boston location has a beautiful inside seating area and patio. And the lake location, well what's to complain, it's on the Lake! I love Bella. It is my go to. If you haven't gone you honestly don't know what you're missing. I hate giving bad reviews, however I called and emailed Bella and never heard from them. The pie I picked up last week was. Large C&P - nothing too tricky. Had it cut into squares. I kid you not, the ring of crust on the outer edge was 3 inches. It was like they were running out of sauce and trying to make it last. Pulled up and 1st impression inside was this place is SUPER clean. We walked into the take out section. the prices here are super low. The food here is SUPER good. I order half a cheeseburger and bacon sub and let me tell you, there was SOO much bacon on that sub. Like never in life have I had that much Bacon on a single sub. I also got a side of crinkle cut fries. I ended up paying around 8.50 for both. SUPER cheap. I am SUPER stuffed from the food and definitely got my money's worth. HORRIBLE SERVICE. Called and complained that our pizza was not good and the wings we ordered were not extra crispy. My 75 year old grandma went in the store to complain and left feeling violated. When she got home, she told me her experience and I decided to call them on my own. Spoke to a man and he said that he remembers my grandma and said they dismissed her because their pizza is "always good" He proceeded to talk over me and laugh. I asked him to please let me speak and then he laughed again and hung up on me. I called back a bit after and spoke to a women. I told her my situation and she said that on game days they are very busy and that food can go out wrong. The food is good but the service sucks. EVERY time I try to order food I have to call a thousand times before someone picks up the phone. I went inside and asked for a manager to ask why they aren't answering the phones and the girl behind the desk's response was "well we turn the phones down" yet I showed her that I called literally 46 times for the last half hour and NOT ONCE did someone pick it up. She also never apologized or was accommodating at all, just kept saying excuses as to why no one answers. I always pick up my food I never get it delivered so also, if you want to place an online order even just for pickup, they want ALL your information. After waiting double the estimated delivery time, we called and the manager apologized, refunded us the meal, and had the pizzas delivered. I grew up 1 block away from the original Bella at Verel and South Park. I remember walking a block to pick up the pizza. No delivery in my day. As time progressed and I moved on, I always returned to eat Bella pizza. The new building is great, but I moved to Angola 22 yrs. ago. I always wished for a Bella pizza to open in the Town of Evans. Bella's pizza is really good, especially if you like extremely greasy pizza. I tend to order their specialty pizzas more often than the regular cheese and whatever topping combo. They just don't seem as greasy. The wings aren't anything to brag about so I don't usually order them. The chicken tacos are huge and delicious, but like their pizza very greasy. Notice a common theme? Grease. As far as their subs go, they seem to have went downhill the past few years. It's like every time I give them a try it's worse than the last. The lettuce and tomatoes are usually put on sloppy and the tomatoes always seem to be from the bottom of the bin texture. Just another Item I stopped ordering. What do you do when you drive for 6 hours to show up at a relative's Buffalo door step at 11 p.m. on a Friday night? You get some local grub. So we did. On her recommendations for Bella Pizza, we got a large pepperoni pizza & oder of wings -- medium, extra crispy because that's the way the hostess likes it. Both were quite tasty, but I would have preferred the pizza crust to be thinner & crispier. We were told that we had to try wings from another place while we were in town (the 9-11 Tavern -- there's a review on that, too), because their wings were the best around. The sauce was slightly sweet, and the amount of cheese was just about perfect, so no complaints there! The pepperoni was small & slightly burnt/crispy and gave that greasy sop-it-up-with-napkins layer on top... These are all good things, by the way. We ordered carry-out, so I can't review the info about the ambience/interior, etc. Given the fatigue setting in after the long road trip, I didn't really take the time to eat slowly to dissect the flavors, but I can genuinely say I was happy with the food. It was almost $30 for just those two items, but I don't know what the individual prices were (I didn't ask). All in all, a good recommendation! read more

A hit or miss restaurant. Sometimes the wings are spot-on amazing, and other times are greasy, over-cooked, rocks. Sometimes the pizza is perfect, and too often it's nothing but a sponge of grease. Subs can be good, but I guess it all depends on who is making them. The eating room is large and cozy, with ordering windows both in the dining room and a separate area for take out and pickups. I haven't been here in a while, and no longer live in Lackawanna, but I will say that when the food is spot on, it is easily the best in Buffalo. read more
