    Wagyu and Ribeye.
    Marc S.

This place was amazing. We 3 arrived a bit early and were seated after a few minutes. It was cozy and not too bright. Besides the bar there were only a couple tables. We ordered a few cocktails and discussed our game plan as B&C serves family style. We chose a bottle of wine and.. We started with the Fennel salad. Traditionally, I'm not a fan of fennel but the combination of fennel, apple and nuts (hazelnuts?) really opened my eyes to the potential of that flavor. Ridiculous. The Paté en Croute was next and also stellar with a tiny blob of mustard we devoured it happily. Nice. Next, some A5 Wagyu. Fatty and delicious. Truly decadent and worth every penny. Some aged ribeye was next and it was fantastic. Hard to follow Wagyu but super solid. We savored our wine and enjoyed the Floating Island dessert. I had one bite but it was good. Ha! One of my dining companions wished there had been a bit more vegetables like a simple salad or some kind of "broccoli dish". But, I reminded said companion that this was a butcher shop during the week but still wondered for a moment about that. Service was friendly and helpful. We chatted with the owner/chef on his way out and enjoyed the nicely casual but very upscale vibes. ALSO: The playlist was so good I thought for a moment my phone had connected to their speakers. The Specials, Toots and The Maytals, Led Zeppelin .. I paid the bill ($$$) and silently congratulated myself on another successful food adventure. 10/10. Go here. Thank me later.

Friendly staff and owner. Food and drinks tasty but definitely a special occasion type place given the price per person. We went for BF's birthday and he really enjoyed it.

Beast and Cleaver offers a quaint and intimate evening dining experience with a bespoke rotating menu that honors the owner's British heritage. They are famous for their pate en croute (admittedly French) which was delightfully savory with hints of acidity from the included stone fruit and the perfect amount of crunch from the pistachios. True to their butchershop roots, their meat dishes did not disappoint- their pork cheek confit was beautifully tender and their NY strip was smoked to absolute perfection. Their dessert was a British-style steamed pudding which had a delectable texture, it felt like eating a warm, sweet and fluffy cloud. Overall would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique and special dining experience

Hands down this is one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. If Seattle was the on Michelin guide, the food here should be like one Michelin star. Bummed that the chef didn't win at least a James Beard because the food here is top notch! I've been here twice for the peasant dinner and I was impressed and satisfied first time and not disappointed the second time either. Quality and taste remains consistent. They put so much thought and work into every dish and it's executed with perfection! I was so impressed first time when I had the best onions I've ever had, some that were smoked in their small custom smoker for 4 hours. Dang that's dedication! The signature dish is their Pâté with pork belly and foie gras, which is the fruit of the labor of love. The dishes seem "humble" but they are filled with aged and smoked meats from the butcher shop that are cooked to perfection with care. Second time, we had goose on the menu! I've never had goose meat before but it was amazing and probably the best goose I will ever have. I imagine it would be gamey and chewy if I had it anywhere else but because Beast and Cleaver did it right, I'm happy to explore and eat whatever they serve me here. I didn't get the wine pairing second time but even that is fun and filled with unique great tasting wines. This place is SUCH a hidden gem. The food here reminds me of the food at Off Alley but execution is miles better, better format, and fairly priced. Only thing I'm miffed about is they don't give new utensils with each course and there have been times where I had to hold onto my dirty fork and other times where my spoon was cleared away by accident and I was out utensils for dessert. It's a very small inconvenience and I'm splitting hairs at this point. Amazing talented chef, amazing meals. It's one of my favorite "fine dining" tasting menu restaurants in Seattle (other ones being LTD Sushi, Taneda, and Wa'z).

This is specific to their sausage rolls, which they serve on Saturday mornings until they run out. (Best to call and check though!) I think they're $12 and worth every penny. Juicy, a little spicy from the pepper, and very tense. Two ppl can eat this easily! Order at the butcher counter and don't show up too late after they sell out! Oh also they are an amazing butchery and nighttime restaurant, but that's for another review!

I had another amazing meal at Beast & Cleaver. When I tell you this place does NOT disappoint. I mean it NEVER disappoints. My favorites tonight were the Foie Gras Terrine, white chocolate & orange zest. The slow roasted cabbage, classic beurre blanc & crispy garlic. The pork chop, from Pure Country Farm, Wa. The Foie gras was served with toasted bread and a cranberry sauce. The words to describe the Foie gras escape me. Just know that the joy escaped my lips more than once while at the dinner table. IF you have been to Beast and Clever, you know how intimate the space is. Everyone there knew how much not only I enjoyed that dish, but everyone at our table. It was so divine, we ordered some to go from The butchers case. My brother even drove some over to his friends house because when food is that good, you share the love. Now when we ordered the cabbage and the pork, we didn't expect them to serve to us together but oh my heavens. Doing this was the best experience ever. The pork was tender and flavorful and perfectly pan roasted. I swear they always have just the right amount of salt on their meat here. And the cabbage with the sauce - speechless. Perfectly cooked! The A5 Wagyu is divine here too. Cooked medium rare and it was just like butter. The most intense pack of flavor without any the work you expect in typically eating beef. Amazing! And let's not leave out how great the staff is here. They are so warm and friendly. I never feel anything less than family or a close friend coming here.

Another location where I'm very late to the party, despite all the amazing Yelp and IG posts. A true carnivore's paradise! Great smash burgers where folks line up. Chef's curated multi course dinners. Yes, I've missed out for so long. The FTR was since 1/4/2020 well before the pandemic! I have never visited until earlier this morning (11/4/22). I had been searching for bockwurst for months. Not even my neighborhood Town& Country/Central Market in Shoreline had bockwurst. Saw their instagram sausage offerings...omg bockwurst, yes I'm totally there! Managed to find nearby street parking, good job parallel parking along a very busy thoroughfare. Murphy's Law, on the day of my first ever visit, my cell phone ran out of internal memory. No interior photos taken...the meat cases, the menu items and specials on the chalkboard. Sigh. I was able to purchase six bockwurst links for $18.12! All set for tonight's UW Huskies or Sunday's Seahawks game. Worthy butcher shop destination for high quality meat selection (farm fresh eggs, curated wines too) with friendly counter staff.

I came here with a friend and was not disappointed!! It is incredibly small - only 2 tables, plus 2 spots at window for the "wine bar". Not the most comfortable but the food kept the rating at 5 stars. We enjoyed a bread & butter starter (copious giant salt in the butter), and then pork rabbit pate that was divine. Yum! Then came the slow roasted cabbage - the sauce made this cabbage I can get behind... But we all came for the meat... the Bavette was simply incredible - perfectly cooked with huge flavor - I'd put above a $70 steak at Daniel's. The London Royale was different but absolutely delicious - a slight chewy texture, but amazing flavor. Solid overall experience

I haven't dined here so I can't speak to dining experience. I stopped by Beast and Cleaver to pick up some beef tenderloin to make beef Wellington and it did not disappoint! They have a wide variety of high quality meats and most of them seem to be grass fed which is an added bonus. Service was great and attentive, initially I couldn't find what I was looking for and one of the butchers came to help me get exactly what I needed. For those who are curious, the beef was superb and the Wellington came out perfect! I definitely will be back.

    Steak tartare

I went here for the wine bar seating, which is exclusive to weekday dinners (I think Tuesday and Wednesday) which features a la carte options as well as a nice selection of wines and other alcohol. We somewhat got lucky as we were able to snag a reservation less than a week in advance, as usually even the wine bar gets booked out a month or so in advance. I wished we were seated at the actual bar where we can see the action, but we were still able to see it as we looked at the meat selection, and where we sat was brighter and has an open view to the outside. We shared the Dairy Cow steak tartare, crispy wonton & onion ranch; smoked beef ribs, house mustard & pickles; sausage; and Dairy Cow London Royale Steak tartare: the beef is so fresh and does not have the beef aftertaste that I would usually encounter in lower quality steak tartare. It is diced rather than grounded. The ranch is quite subtle in flavor which is great as it does not overpower the lightly flavored beef. Wonton is a creative addition to the dish, and is very crispy. You lightly break the wonton and then use the fragments to scoop up some of the tartare. Smoked beef ribs: nice smoky flavor, a little bit fatty but the amount of meat vs fat is good. This is prepared like dry smoked rather than with sauce, which I prefer. Sausage: I forgot the name of this but it had coriander seed and white wine. This is one of the best sausages I have had, as it was also so juicy. London Royale: this is the muscles of the thigh so it is, by nature, very tough. They did a great job preparing the dish as it is also quite chewy more than tough. It is very buttery and slightly earthy. I recommend getting this dish as they execute this part of the cow quite well and there are not many restaurants that offer this type of dish. Service is amazing - we were greeted warmly with slight humor (checking the computer for the reservation aka a folded piece of paper) and the changes of utensils and pacing of the dishes are punctual. We also ordered 1 glass of wine each (red, sparkling) and for $15, while pricey, they gave generous pours. The wine bar is definitely the way to go to experience the high quality cuts of meat here at a more affordable price (they also have The Peasant tasting menu for around $180+ per person). Our bill after tax and tip was about $75 per person.

We recently started going to one of their locations outside of Seattle whenever we were in the area. The service remains flawless. It's one of the few butcher shops that consistently deserves a tip but they are always a bit extra! This week, we did a perfect surf & turf : wagyu steak and Chilean sea bass - complete with accompaniments. The fish was flaky and the steak was perfectly seasoned, seared and medium rare. As I was setting up drinks, I was the last one at the table. The steaks were sitting there and everyone had stopped eating. When I asked how it was, I was told "Try it, tell us what you think". I sliced into the steak. It looked amazing. I bit in. BUT afte a chew, I stopped eating it. The beef was definitely 'off' andd spoiled - which explained why no one was eating it. Fortunately, it was surf & turf night so we still had enough to eat. But after paying wagyu prices and lovingly cooking the steak, the disappointment was beyond words. Obviously I will call the store as I want to make sure they pull the remaining inventory from theirr display. At this point, my husband is worried as he had three bites as he presumed the aftertaste was from the truffle sauce I had drizzled. Now, he's worried that he will get sick. I guess time will tell. So FYI --- make sure you check the original dates of the meat before they cut/vaccum seal. Long story short - I hope they read this and review their QA processs to ensure all meats are dated/rotated/stored.
