    Bone Marrow Ice Cream
    Alan P.

Booked a Valentine's Day dinner reservation and was promptly seated upon arrival. There's the floor level which has a more bright ambiance and then the downstairs which has a more dark and romantic ambiance. I chose the downstairs and loved the ambiance. Started off the night with the Big Eye Tuna Tostada and overall was a great taste although a bit too salty and should be avoided by those who do not want a more salt intake. The main course was the 5-star filet mignon and absolutely loved the taste. It was a very soft and juicy cut and was very delighted with the 8oz serving. Did look a bit overcooked past the medium rare requested, but not by much. Ended the night with the bone marrow ice cream, which is a literal name. The ice cream is of a bone marrow flavor. Was very surprised by how good the flavor was! Honestly a 10/10 and do recommend a try at least once. Do recommend the the place for special occasions or if you feel like splurging on a dinner.

I was in Seattle a few weeks back, and remember passing by The Butcher's Table wondering if it was good. When I got home, I happened to see a restaurant review from a popular YouTube food reviewer, so I decided to give this place a try on my next visit. I made reservations online. We arrived on time and were quickly seated in the bar area so we could take advantage of Happy Hour. It looks like a typical steakhouse - dark, sophisticated, and upscale. We tried the following: - Oysters: Good, but tiny. Some of the smallest oysters I've ever had. - Bigeye Tuna Tostada: OK. Tasted fine. Just felt like something mass produced from a chain restaurant though. - Salmon Chip 'n' Dip: Very good. The chips in particular are fantastic as they tasted fresh, and were huge. Unexpected highlight among the appetizers. - Beef Fat Brioche: Good. Super moist and fluffy. - Hen of the Woods Mushrooms: Good. First time having this type of mushroom. Very earthy. - Ribeye Burger: Good. Solid burger. - Beef Fat Fries: OK. The fries were actually good, but way too salty. Even my kids thought it was too salty, and they normally add salt to everything. - 16oz of 5-Star Tasting Flight: Very good. The main reason we came here, and it didn't disappoint. Very well prepared, and good quality meats. My only comment is that the crust on all of them were very strong, which sort of took away from the focus on the meat and in a way, made them taste all very similar. - Chocolate Mousse Cake. Good, I think. My daughter ate most of it, but I enjoyed the one bite I had. Service was very good. Professional, attentive, and accommodating. Overall, a nice meal. The main focus was to try the steak tasting flight, and it was as good as advertised. Happy Hour appetizers were generally good, but some I wouldn't order again, but I still felt it was a satisfying meal. I would return for Happy Hour.

Wanted try a new restaurant on Resy app. The reservation is available for upstairs and downstairs. Upstairs is brighter street level and downstairs has a darker ambiance. They offer the same service. We decided to try out the 5 star flights of steaks. Medium rare was definitely the way to go except for the zabuton cut. Unfortunately they didn't allow us to cook it differently. We were able to send that piece back to make it medium rare it was so much better. My favorite dish was the smoked bone marrow. This was def the top 3 bone marrow I ever had. Yummmm. Also got a side of mushroom that was delicious. Melbac by the glass was surprisingly good. Would come back again. Service was decent

Such a cool place with lots of character. The bar was my favorite part. We got here for lunch time. The menu has not too many items BUT the few they offer are all good. The meat is amazing, the burger was juicy and yummy. We also got the salmon salad, with several layers of flavors . Service was super nice and friendly. We'll come back for sure!

I'm ready to saddle up to The Butcher's Table! Located in the heart of Seattle's Denny Triangle neighborhood mere blocks away from the increasingly trendy South Lake Union neighborhood. The Butcher's Table is a higher-end steakhouse from the Sugar Mountain group that also operates noteworthy Seattle businesses such as Beecher's Handmade Cheese and Pasta and Company. With the Butcher's Table, they have combined a butcher shop, a delicatessen, a crudo bar, two full bars, and a steakhouse all into one location along Westlake Avenue. What originally brought me here was the fact that I was staying nearby at one of the many new hotels in the South Lake Union neighborhood, as I walked by I found out that their Happy Hour was seven days a week from 4 to 6 p.m. With this in mind, I made sure to return to my hotel room to handle everything that I needed to do and then I was back by 5 p.m. ready to be sat at their bar. With it being in the late afternoon on a Sunday, the place was thriving with business, as the conclusion of the football game just took place and a number of fans who were staying in the area clearly wanted an extra libation and snack to continue their celebratory mood. I'd happen to get lucky with the remaining bar stool at the end of their bar being empty and I sat down as their one bartender that seemed to be working that day did sit me up with a menu. The dinner menu at The Butcher's Table is separated into categories including Raw Bar, Salads, Apps, Entrées, Side Dishes, Mishima Reserve American Wagyu Steaks, Tasting Flight, Special Cuts, and Chef's Accompaniments to serve with your steak, in addition to their beverage and Happy Hour menu. With their Happy Hour menu, they have seven handcrafted cocktails available with nothing over 14 dollars and ten food items on their Happy Hour menu. I decided to start my meal off with a cocktail and their Florida Holly, which was made with pink peppercorn-infused vodka, passion fruit syrup, grapefruit and lemon. It was a spicy treat that I knew would pair with my meat entrée very well. For my dinner, I ordered their Steak Kabobs which were two kabobs with three grilled pieces of steak topped with chimichurri sauce. To pair with these steak bites I ordered their Beef Fat Fries which were served with their house sriracha dipping sauce. My cocktail was the perfect way to start a meal as it was sophisticated and spicy at the same time. When paired with my Steak Kabobs it added the perfect kick thanks to the abundance of pink peppercorn throughout every sip. The Kabobs were good but not great as they were a little too overdone for my taste but thankfully the extra chimichurri sauce added in with every bite helped to save the dish, the same could go for the Beef Fat Fries as they too were slightly overcooked and were really only to be eaten with a fork and knife. My total bill was $52.92 which was on the pricier side even for Happy Hour. Had I been hungrier this visit, I would have been sure to order additional items on their Happy Hour menu as their Bigeye Tuna, Ribeye Burger and Mac and Cheese as they were all priced for under 20 dollars for Happy Hour. As a solo diner, I was never rushed to finish my meal even as time would wear on, as business would impressively pick up as more and more sports fans would enter the premises seemingly wanting to enjoy their signature wagyu steak menu. With an elegant vibe, Seattle has a great dining option away from the traditional tourist areas that proves you can enjoy a nice cocktail and small protein centric dish, and for that I am thankful that this trendy option exists.

In short, one of the best steakhouses we have been to. Visited for dinner and we were seated immediately because we had a reservation. Please make sure you reserve ahead of time, walk ins may not work. The ambiance is beautiful with large chandelier and low light. For appetizers we ordered some Oysters and Steak Kabobs. The Oysters were fresh and cold, which was great. The steak kabobs were good portion size and very flavorful. For entrees we ordered their Filet Mignon and Classic 5-Star Ribeye. Both the steaks were fantastic and cooked to desired level (perfect). It was hard to pick our favorite between both because they were equally good. The service was great too. Overall a pricey dinner that was well worth it! Will visit again.

Happy hour salad, lots of cheese!

We came for happy hour menu. The food was tasty, though everything was on the salty side. (Might've been the ton of cheese.) The fries were excellent, reminded me of delicious hash browns. The salad was great if I scraped off some of the cheese and drank water with it. The burger was just excellent, no notes. The service was great! I was so impressed that they split the burger for us without us asking for it. They knew! And I do like a place that just knows :D The price at Happy Hour are great, and the amount of food served the two of us great.

Great service and amazing food with a nice atmosphere. We were in town visiting from Vegas for our anniversary and my Birthday. We told them that at check-in when that asked what brought us in. That made no difference. Still the food was good! My husband and I were in awe of the flights of meat options. Someone needs to do that in Vegas. All the restaurants there and we've never seen that as an option. Great idea and that's what made us choose this place. Once my husband saw that, he said we're going there. He loves his steaks and is into wagyu and all those different cuts and marbling. Salmon was good and the Mac n cheese was the best we've had. Potatoes were flavored great. We were too full for dessert but great options.

I came here one early evening for their burger here on the HH menu. This will be my now my go to spot for a very involved burger+ meal. It was perfectly cooked (mid rare) and their beef fat fries were so delicious. I'm not a huge fan of meat but I'm curious to try their beef selection just out of curiosity. The server here was very attentive and I'll say the decor and vibe inside was very nice. Will be back!

5-Star Filet Mignon. Cooked perfectly but needed some accompaniments
    Julia E.

Nice atmosphere, dark, mellow ambiance, quick service. I ordered the filet mignon and beef fries as a side (because no sides are included) I know these take some TLC to make as well, and they were great. Chef Morgan, the steak was cooked perfectly and really amazing... overall I was not impressed with the value or presentation. I was served a charred steak on a bare white plate. Most steakhouses include some sort of side option..The steak was delicious, but for $100 I was pretty let down and still hungry. Not sure I'd recommend this place for a meal because I can cook a mean steak at home, but the setting was wonderful. Thanks!

Food: amazing 5/5 Service: I asked for asparagus on the side, the waiter said it's not in season; however, I believe the harvest is usually from Feb - June, so I was a little confused here, but he's nice so 4.75/5 There are 2 levels, we got sit on the top level, I guessed this level is for hang out or casual dining. The lower level I think is more formal dining quiet... but overall, the restaurant is nice inside with a lot of staff!! Will come back for special occasions!

I had a delicious dinner and great wine! I got one of the steak samplers - such a great way to have multiple delicious, expertly-prepared pieces of meat - and glasses of wine I wouldn't have been able to find easily, even back in the Bay Area. Everyone was also super friendly. I'll definitely be back!

I'm from the Bay Area, but I come up to Seattle for work and to enjoy good food with friends. We've been to Butchers Table at least four times over the past few years. This was by far the best meal we've had there and one of the best meals I've personally ever had in Washington. We started with the scallops on the half shell, Caesar salad, Hen of the Woods mushrooms, and beef tallow fries. We opened with a refreshing rosé. I don't remember the bottle, but it was the perfect way to begin the evening. The scallops were a standout. The sauce was balanced and complex, and we drank it like a shot straight off the shell. Easily one of the best appetizers I've had for four dollars. The Caesar salad was everything I love about a good Caesar. Simple ingredients, layered flavors, and varied textures. The mushrooms were surprisingly good. I wasn't sure what to expect with Hen of the Woods, but they kept the integrity of the mushroom, tender inside with a nice crisp, and the accompanying aïoli brought it all together. The tallow fries were crisp and served in just the right amount. I wasn't excited about the Sriracha ketchup, but there were plenty of other sauces for dipping. The next course was beef tartare, mixed tableside and served with Kennebec potato chips. It was easily my favorite version in recent memory. It had all my favorite components, and the yolk was bright and rich. We opened a bottle of Crozes Hermitage meant for the main course, but it complemented the tartare beautifully. The main course was the true highlight of the evening. Some of the best steak I've ever had. Both the filet and New York were cooked and rested perfectly. We went with the chef's recommended temperature, which was medium rare plus. We also had the pork chop, which was incredibly unique. The seasoning created a bold contrast against the smoky, full flavored crust. The fat was rendered beautifully, and I loved dipping it in a little hollandaise. We ordered chimichurri and another sauce for the steaks, but honestly, the meat was so exceptional that the sauces felt like a distraction. We also tried the more marbled versions of both steaks, which blended Japanese wagyu with Angus. The mac and cheese and green beans were both great, but I was so focused on the steak and wine that the sides didn't get much attention. Even though we were full, we couldn't resist checking out the dessert menu. We ordered the pepper donuts and bone marrow ice cream, two things I had never had before but felt compelled to try. Both were worth it. The ice cream was rich and ideal for sharing with four or more people. The donuts were beignet style, served with a caramel sauce that was the perfect consistency for dipping. The general manager, Brandon, and the level 3 sommelier, both took the time to visit our table. I really appreciate when the GM connects with guests to talk about food and service. It adds a lot to the experience if done right. The som was incredibly knowledgeable, offering great pairings, wine history, and thoughtful recommendations. The restaurant had a great atmosphere for a busy night, and everything was perfectly timed, as if the staff anticipated what we wanted before we even asked. Experiences like this set the bar high and remind me why I love fine dining. Every detail was executed beautifully. Butchers Table is a perfect example of what a great steakhouse can be when everything comes together.

The Butcher's Table Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - The Butcher's Table

What's the difference between a Five Star cut and an Ultra cut?

It is a grading system. 5 stars is like extra richness but traditional beef taste. Ultra has the most marbling and is still most rich in flavor.

I'm looking to set a reservation for my partner's birthday. Is there a difference between upstairs and downstairs seating?

Upstairs is of a casual/bar setting. Downstairs is more of an dinning/intimate setting.

    Is there parking nearby?

Yes. The Amazon parking garage directly behind the restaurant at 2121 8th Ave is free everyday after 4 pm. And free on weekends.

    Is there any dress code?

Great question, Elizabeth. There is no dress code to dine with us, dress to enjoy and have fun!

Is the mac and cheese without meat?

Yes. It's just Mac & Cheese with bread crumbs.

How much does the tomahawk steak typically run for?

It's market price, mine that I got tonight was $200 flat.

How long does a dinner on a Saturday usually take? I am trying to plan for dinner before a show and not sure how much time I should allow for?

I would plan an hour and a half. Give yourself time to order, eat, let it settle for a few minutes. Food arrives fairly quickly when you order.

    Anyone know the corkage fee?

Corkage is $25 per bottle, a magnum is $75

Do you serves "beef Wellington"? If do how much?

I didn't see it on the menu last night

Amazing wines, creative cocktails, solid snacks, great service and even games. You could wander in "for one flight" and somehow emerge six hours later wondering where the time went (in the best way.) On the wine side, they offer several thoughtfully curated flights, or you can build your own adventure. Which I highly recommend. The dessert wines alone are incredible, and the selection of aromatic whites is seriously impressive. No matter your palate, there's something here that will make you pause, sip again, and nod approvingly. And then there are the wine-based cocktails that deserve their own standing ovation. A wine tasting room doing cocktails this well is rare. This used to be one of my favorite spots at Pike Market. For years, I made it a tradition to bring out-of-town guests here. Over time, I have brought more than 100 people here. It had a charming, warm, and welcoming feel--like a hidden gem in the city. It oozed with kindness and fun. Unfortunately, that has completely flipped! Since the new manager, Anthony, took over, the entire atmosphere has shocked me. What was once inviting now is rigid, cold, and unwelcoming. The biggest issue, however, was the way I was treated. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive, which was both surprising and disappointing given my long history with this place. Great establishments are built not just on food or ambiance, but on how people are treated--and that piece is clearly missing now. It's especially unfortunate because the rest of the team still shows glimpses of what this place used to be. Jordon, was genuinely kind and pleasant, but one positive interaction couldn't outweigh the manager's miserable attitude. It's hard to see a place that once felt so special lose its charm like this. I know the winemaker Paul is a great person - so it is hard to leave such a terrible review, but at the same time, if this was my place -- I would want to know what was happening behind the scenes at my establishment. I truly hope leadership reflects on how customer experience is being handled moving forward. Don't give money to places that have toxic attitudes and are joy crushers! Life is too short and far too precious! In the meantime, there are many nearby spots that consistently deliver both quality and incredible hospitality. Skip this place, and instead go to Browne Family Vineyards Tasting Room, The Lonely Siren, The Pink Door, Place Pigalle, or Maximilien. Those places are working very hard to create an exceptional experience!
