Beautiful views from a window seat inside the restaurant

Coming from Hawai'i to Seattle in February was already an experience in itself...I thought I anticipated everything lol but I was mistaken and showing up to Daniel's Broiler in South Lake Union while completely underdressed for both the weather AND the more what seemed like a fine dining atmosphere was another story entirely ! It was around 36-40 degrees outside and I was FREEZING. I honestly think the staff initially thought I was either lost or just trying to escape the cold for a moment lol. But as soon as I mentioned I was meeting a friend for dinner, they immediately welcomed me in and treated me wonderfully. Once they found out I was visiting from Hawai'i, nobody paid any attention to my very-not-fine-dining outfit anymore and instead sympathized with my struggle against Seattle winter weather . And honestly? The food absolutely made the cold worth it. I ordered the filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes and it was cooked beautifully -- tender, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a high-end steakhouse experience. We also shared the Wisconsin cheese curds, which were dangerously good and disappeared very quickly from the table. Daniel's Broiler definitely falls into the upscale/fine dining category, but what I appreciated most was that it didn't feel overly stiff or pretentious. The atmosphere still felt approachable and welcoming, especially for travelers and visitors who may not look perfectly dressed for the occasion after battling Seattle weather all day. The ambience was elegant but comfortable, with beautiful views overlooking South Lake Union and the Seattle skyline. It's the kind of place that works equally well for celebrations, business dinners, date nights, or simply warming up with a really good steak after walking around the city all day. Pricing is definitely on the expensive side, but expected for a steakhouse of this caliber. My filet alone was around the $80 range, but portions, quality, service, and overall experience made it feel worthwhile for a special dinner outing. Service throughout the evening was attentive, professional, and kind without ever making us feel rushed or out of place. If you're visiting Seattle and craving a classic steakhouse experience with great food, scenic views, and genuinely welcoming service, Daniel's Broiler is absolutely worth considering -- even if you accidentally show up looking like a confused tourist escaping the cold like I did .

I was craving a good steak and seafood and Daniel's Broiler sounded like a good option. There's a few parking spaces for restaurant guests, but the rest of parking you had to pay. We were able to grab the last reserved parking spot. We didn't make reservations but we were able to be sat down within a few minutes. I liked that they had their steaks on display so we can see the marble . We were sat next to the window over looking the pier. We saw the local raccoons run around. We started off with the bacon wrapped scallop and jumbo prawn. The table also had a couple bread rolls and salted butter and I had the lavender martini. The bacon wrapped scallops were cooked perfectly. The bacon was thin , yet not over cooked and crispy, which paired well with the scallops. The scallops were flaky and tender. The jumbo prawn were huge, the avocado wasn't necessary. I ordered the Wagyu ribeye cooked medium rare and the garlic mashed potatoes. My partner ordered the Daniel's filet mignon, cooked medium rare with garlic mashed potatoes. Upon delivery of our steaks , they had us cut into the middle for doneness. My ribeye was delicious, as well as the mashed potato. My partners filet mignon was burnt. Which was unfortunate because the middle was a nice rare. I tried a piece of his filet mignon, and I could smell the burnt steak and it tasted bitter from being burnt. Overall, the scallops, ribeye and mashed potatoes were great. But for the price , it was very very spendy, especially to get a filet mignon that was burnt.

Ran into this spot while walking around the Lake and looking for a sunset dinner spot, the restaurant was super accommodating. Had the steak bites, lobster mashed potatoes, and a glass of their house red. Felt expensive but the quality was there and the ambience and care from the staff made the experience overall enjoyable!

Started off great. Scallop, clam chowder and lam chop were all good. Stunning view and very welcoming service. Bone-in rib-eye. A big failure. Steak is way over charred. Manager told me that's how they prepared it. I understand the fat and seasoning can burn and bring up sharp bitterness, especially on the edges. But to have it unbearly bitter, that it ruins even the middle cut, is just not acceptable. How you prepare is not an excuse. If the food comes out this bad, then it's a failure. And the denial earns straight zero stars, especially at a prime steakhouse. Then got a free celebration dessert for birthday, which was very nice. The steak earns zero stars and the rest pulls back one star.

So stoked to have Daniel's open on Thanksgiving and the course menu was wonderful and allowed us to relax and enjoy a non-stressed dinner! Our server was totally helpful and made the experience that much better too. For starters they offered a nice relish tray and of course we had a nice bottle of wine - Diet Coke for me as the DD for the night - to go with dinner. The dinner started off with their signature chowder followed by a filet mignon and two New York steaks with their famous garlic mashed potatoes and broccolini. We finished off the night with a couple awesome slices of cheesecakes and a pumpkin pie too. Love the ambiance of the SLU location with a great view of Lake Union and the surrounding cityscape. All in all we'll be back again for Thanksgiving and I'm sure several times in between! A hat tip to Daniel's!

Our company rented out one of the private rooms here for a dinner. Drinks were pretty bad here was the consensus of most of my coworkers. My steak was pretty rare despite requesting medium well. Vibes were alright, definitely gives a fancy feeling, but in an old school way. Not sure what a regular dining experience would be like here, but I probably won't be back to try.

Daniel's broiler to me is like your classic fancified steakhouse. The ambiance just has that extra oomph due to being situated on the forefront of slu. Don't get me wrong, the views enhance the experience, but where it falls short would be the food itself. I can only judge based off the cocktails, sides and entrees I was able to try. The filet mignon ordered medium rare I received wasn't as succulent as other filets I've had at other locations. The meaty flavor quality was decent but couldn't stand on its own. Definitely needed a supporting cast like the mashed potatoes and broccolini. I actually enjoyed the mashed potatoes. I think the grated Parmesan was a nice touch of funk and flavor. Broccoli had a nice snap/crunch to help with the dynamics of the meal. Dinner rolls were served toasty and warm. Great soft interior with a good solid crust on the outside. The salad was also solid I enjoyed the espresso martini that was made for me. Not a menu item but can request to have it made. The Manhattan was a cocktail menu item better than their old fashion. Overall I would rate this place 3.5-3.8 I do think it warrants a visit because my experience might differ from anyone else's.

Daniel's has been on my list to explore for some time. The location stands out with the lively view of Lake Union and the piers with the many beautiful boats, and sunsetting sky (in colors) on a clear day/evening. What better day than Christmas Eve? I opted to park in the handicap spot and found that it's a pay by the 2 hour kind of parking lot. Please note, there's some complimentary Daniel's parking down below, so a short walk up an incline. This was aggressively brought to my attention right upon entry into the restaurant, rather than a hello, how are you, or other greeting. -0.5 For two, we were seated in a booth with a view of a table of 6, and the marina. It was great! The lighting was perfect as the sun set, the lights came up a touch but remained quite cozy. The service was quite stellar until the end, though a tad robotic from the main server. Felipe brought bread and still water - he was great! So kind and funny to chat with momentarily. Our main server was very straightforward and efficient. At the end, we felt rushed to leave and were given the leftovers very quickly with a quick "thank you for dining" and after informing us of the "tipping situation" was long gone, never to be seen from again. Kind of rude, given the overpriced food and low maintenance table. For the food - Appetizers: -popcorn shrimp came in a movie style box with foil. Charming!! It was undercooked, so a bit gummy. The sriracha sauce and lemon aioli were divinely fresh and homemade. Could have sent back but it was busy and slow to begin with. Instead of slow, I'd say relaxing. -ahí tuna was incredibly flavored by the grill and very tender and fresh! These are both happy hour specials so I'll be back to have this again in the bar. There's also a main ahi that looks similar so I would potentially try that if I return. Mains: -I tried the Piedmontese filet and it lacked the meaty forward flavor described to me. It was also quite undercooked (rare instead of medium rare). I normally wouldn't mind but it was kind of strange. It came with just a baked potato that was dry. I expected a piece of broccoli or asparagus. I went elsewhere for Christmas and did get just that but not trying to compare here. -My guest enjoyed the lamb and found it to be larger in portion than expected - until he realized it was very fatty. We all know how lamb can be, but I believe this one was on the fattier than usual side. It tasted great and came with mashed potatoes. +side of the creamed corn was good, not a standout but worked well with our dishes. Dessert: crème brûlée was a good size and good. Wine: roerder estate brut for $60 felt like a ripoff. Overall: felt like everything was a touch overpriced, service was good and helpful in understanding the menu for a first timer. Recommendations (lamb and ahi) were superb. Front desk could work on demeanor and outfit choices, one gal could barely breathe and just felt underdressed for the vibe this restaurant gives. Though beautiful, just not what I'd expect to see here. Will I return? Maybe for happy hour, or if someone invites me I would aim for a plate vs a steak. There are better steaks around town that are priced much more competitively than here.

Clearly Daniel's is one of the best steakhouses in Seattle. So, obviously that means you get what you pay for, and it is worth every nickel. From food to service to location, it is top notch. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. They were super tasty and tender. I especially enjoyed the chargrilled taste and the simple but perfect seasoning butter. It was so good that the meat tickled my taste buds. My tummy sung with joy. The veggies and appetizers were amazing and also cooked to perfection. The dessert butter cake was heavenly and moist. We arrived at the opening time, so we had this special place to ourselves for an hour. The ambiance was simply amazing with soft music playing in the background. This place gets busy really fast, therefore I always make reservations well ahead of the day I plan to visit. I also commend the staff. They were all professional and attentive and they made a special occasion that much more sweeter. Our main host was Daniel who was so knowledgeable about the menu. He made excellent recommendations and tended to our every need. Daniel's Lake Union is awesome! I wish I could eat here every single night!!

Bacon wrapped scallops

Daniels broiler is a Seattle staple. But this visit changed that for me. Customer service was lacking and the prices are through the roof. On top of all that, there is a mandatory 20% gratuity for all party sizes. I am just so over Seattle businesses price gouging their customers. It would be one thing if I received elite service and food quality/quantity, but the food isn't anything to write home about.

Attentive service, great views, convenient parking, everything on the menu is delicious! Please remember to pay your parking fee at the reception desk otherwise you'll be surprised with the $62 ticket when you go out to your car after you eat!

Staff: 5/5 (nice) Sanitation: 5/5 (clean) Soft serve w/syrups (5/5) I've had most of the syrups that they offer with their vanilla soft serve. The soft serve itself is a really creamy and rich vanilla milk flavor. I would say it's closer to that Asian milk flavor if you know what I mean. I think the hojicha syrup is my favorite out of all the ones I've tried so far. It has a really nice roasty flavor and not something you can find at most other places. The matcha I would say is my second favorite. The flavor of the matcha syrup is definitely lighter compared to the hojicha but still is a nice compliment to the soft serve. The black sesame would be the lowest on my list out of the, all since I felt like the flavor was too nutty like it was a blend of sesame and potentially a nut. Overall I would definitely go back for the hojicha but if you're not into that there's definitely solid options for other flavors.

One night, after a dinner nearby, I went here to try the soft serve. It was absolutely phenomenal. The choice of flavors isn't much, but the amount and variety of toppings is awesome. I went with the vanilla and chocolate swirl, with butterscotch hard shell and reese's pieces. Firstly, the texture was so smooth and creamy. It had a great mix of both flavors, and was at the perfect temperature. But the toppings are really what makes this. Hard shell is not something you find often, but being able to break this butterscotch and eat the crunchiness along with the melting ice cream was amazing. The excessive amount of reese's pieces added saltiness and even more texture to the overall thing. It was just wonderful overall. Given that, I was really excited to get the fried chicken sandwich, which I did a week later. Unfortunately, it was really bad. I was just confused at first. How could things have gone so wrong here. I'd heard a lot of good things about the fried chicken sandwich. Yet no amount of online reviews could rescue the reality that was in my hands. The chicken was just awful. There was a ton of breading, practically thicker than the chicken itself. But somehow it just failed to be crunchy - it just felt soggy with every bite. Over-breaded chicken is never a great sign, and the inside was terrible - barely even tasting like chicken. It was super overcooked; no juice at all. The fried chicken piece was also super thin compared to how large the buns were. Just nothing worked on this sandwich at all - including the excessive amount of mayo. It's one of the worst fried chicken sandwiches I've had. Price-wise, the chicken sandwich is actually not too expensive at around $11. The soft serve is about half that, but at a pretty good portion. It's tough for me to come up with an overall rating because the soft serve was so good, followed by a mind-bogglingly bad sandwich. I guess I'd only recommend you come here for dessert. 6.5/10

I was recommended Indigo Cow as my friends know I'm a fiend for ice cream in general. The store is just a grab and go window with people standing in line on the sidewalk. Menu is quite limited, but they know what people are there for: the soft serve. They do have some fun topping options. I got a regular sized soft serve, Hokkaido Milk flavored, topped with "MBR" (mochi, brown sugar syrup, and roasted soy bean powder) and their dango. Wow! Definitely a light but creamy dairy soft serve. The MBR was a strong star of the show and I would have felt the soft serve was lacking if I hadn't gotten it. The dango was alright (bunch of dango on a stick). There is some seating, but quite limited. I think there were three or four parklet booths adjacent to the sidewalk. I would consider swinging by here if there isn't a long line, though they have tough competition considering other ice cream choices in the area.
