Love this cafe for a nice coffee or latte while working on my laptop. I love the outdoor seating in the front and I enjoy people watching too. Drinks are reasonably priced for the area and very tasty as well. I have never gotten their food but it looks very good! read more

A very chill cafe in Sunnyvale downtown with good space and great servers! Their coffee and bagel is really good! Good place to go on weekends to catch up with friends. read more

It's a reliable spot for coffee and meeting up on the weekend. They have a self-serve coffee station. They have flavored coffee options as well. They have espresso drinks, breakfast sandwiches, pastries and more. Their water is usually infused with cucumber. It's a good spot to get a bite to eat but the food portions are not super flavorful, and bit small, overpriced for my opinion. But would much rather support a small local business than Starbucks! read more

So so coffee drinks and average supply of breakfast items. However, I've been here 4-5 times to sit outside at the coffee tables on Murphy Street and I've never left that impressed with their drinks or food. Quick service, and decent seating, but nothing too special. read more

Came here after walking the farmers market. Tried the chocolate slush. The chocolate taste was not strong at all, more milky than chocolate. Can try if you're craving a very light chocolate smoothie. read more

Service was good, but my Americano tasted burned(it was scalding hot when served) and the crepe was mushy. Great location but I won't be back. read more

New to the area and Went here once, friendly baristas, good dark roast, and large and tasty egg crepe. Only thing is they use American cheese, which is kind of gross, and charge the same even without meat. read more

Delicious full bodied coffee. I always go for a vanilla latte with oat milk and most coffee shops give a watered down coffee. The service was great and tons of people were working and I left happy with a delicious coffee. read more

I love the vibes here! It's so cute to grab a quick cup of coffee or to do some work. They use ceramic mugs instead of disposable ones if you're ordering "for here" which I think is such a cute and homey touch. The chai latte and café latte is extremely good! Not watered down or bland, great flavor and the portions are great because of the mugs they come in. The princess cake is something unique that I've never seen in any other café! It was a bit sweet for my taste but that didn't take away from the uniqueness and flavor of it. I love that they offer such internationally traditional and diverse pastries. read more

I've walked around Downtown Sunnyvale so much but have never made a pit stop to Bean Scene until yesterday while I was on the hunt for something sweet and chocolatey. I was craving a Nutella crepe and found out that Bean Scene offered it. At a little over $7, it hurt my heart a little as I've had bigger, more fulfilling desert crepes in Paris for way under that price tag. This super small and skinny crepe was able to scratch the itch; I mean, who doesn't love Nutella? But it just wasn't worth the price. read more

I went here to pick up some coffee. Had the mocha one day, and it was nice: pretty sweet. The service is quick. The atmosphere looks peaceful and inviting enough for me to want to do work here the next time I visit. I also went here another day to get their dulce de leche pastry. It was super sweet and tasty! read more

Definitely my favorite spot! I've been coming here for a little while now and it's my go to cafe for drinks and breakfast food. As a college student, it's a good spot to get some work done or just chill. Their outside patio seating is my favorite place to go for studying. The drinks are great but their variety of foods and drinks are what really set them apart. I really recommend their cold brew sea salt caramel cold foam drink and their breakfast croissants, but they usually have new options to try out as well. Overall, it's a solid cafe that you feel welcomed at. customer service is always amazing. read more

I like this place because: 1. It's in the downtown 2. It has a rusty look inside 3. Plenty of seating inside and out 4. They have a large menu I wouldn't consider free wifi as a plus since almost every coffee shop provides that now. I like that the place never gets too crowded, so it's kinda nice to sit here and enjoy your coffee. I would definitely come here over and over again. read more

Cafe Borgia Alert ;-) The Bean Scene is within walking distance from my house- however, I would still make a drive or train ride to downtown Sunnyvale to indulge in my fix. The atmosphere is very peaceful, a kick-back and stay for a couple hours kind of feel. The staff will engage in sparkling coffee shop conversation while quickly serving up a knock out drink. They keep the shop and bathroom areas very clean. You will never be rushed out, under the coffee table in the front/bookshelf area you will find several board games and a newspaper/magazine collection. They have several different seating options, from the checkers for two table, a squish over sized leather couch for 4, Breakfast at Tiffany's velvet chair window section, and the wonderful front patio "people watching" section. They have a good selection of specialty coffee house drinks, including my favorite Cafe Borgia ;-) They also offer bubble tea/milk drinks, and a huge loose tea selection. The cakes and pastries within the case look amazing, but I have never indulged past my Cafe Borgia sin. read more

The princess cake is meh: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/bean-scene-sunnyvale?select=tVhNjkSSUJafpA3WX3gM7g#tVhNjkSSUJafpA3WX3gM7g it uses dry, stale cake inside. I've gotten spoiled by the princess cake at Bijan Bakery. Minus 2 stars because their Square Wallet pay-by-app isn't working. read more

Good coffee, good people. Murphy Street has been shut down and you can sit outside when things are Purple Tier, and enjoy a cup of coffee and their wifi. I like their coffee and atmosphere, and am in love with their raspberry almond bars. Get a latte & the raspberry almond bars, sit outside, and for at least a few minutes forget about COVID19. 75 cents for cream cheese for a bagel... absolutely insane. This place is over priced.

I have been coming here for well over a decade. Great coffee, lots of different eats, and a good ambiance to work or read. Recommended!

I really like Kenny and his wife. I apologize for not asking her name. I had originally only given Bean Scene two stars But that was because I couldn't eat carbs and they weren't low carb friendly for food. What I ordered was meant to be in a burrito soooooo there's that. And I believe that has all changed. I mostly come here for coffee. The pastries and food looks amazing. I have had their bagels and cream cheese and they are up there with the best. But what I love most is the personal feel you get here. Kenny is so nice. He even remembered my name and my special coffee order. You can't get that from Starbucks and don't get me wrong I love Starbucks also. read more

came to this cafe to study with a friend and loved it! we were here on a tuesday afternoon, so it was not too busy and quiet enough that we could study without being bothered by the noise. i got the chai and it was one of the best i've had at a cafe! the cafe had a really comfortable environment; the drinks also came in mugs which i thought was a nice touch. can't wait to come back sometime! read more

Need a toothpick with your coffee? Might seem silly but the last 2 times I came here, I had to get a toothpick to pop a hole in the coffee cup lid. This little hole may seem trivial but without it, it's impossible to get the coffee to sip out of the little slot. The batch of lids they got must be defective as that little hole never got punched through. As for the coffee, its excellent, some of the best I've had. I would have given them 5 stars if it wasn't for this stupid little hole issue. You don't think you need a toothpick with your coffee so the first time I had to wait till I got back to work before I could even take a good sip, the second time I was lucky enough that my friend happened to have one in the car. Moral of the story, yes, you need a toothpick to drink coffee out of the togo cups at bean scene... read more

I don't know why I have never stepped into this place before?!?! especially since I am from Sunnyvale! wth? I cam here yesterday since I usually go to the farmers market almost every sat with the fam. The first thing I noticed, was the layout and decor of the cafe. The feeling of this cafe had this community loving feeling which was amazing! There were soo many locals and since this is a family owned cafe, kids were running around and SV natives were chit chatting with the owners. They serve gelato straight from gelato classico; Mountain View, breakfast crepes, brunch, soo much variety of coffee from Europe and Hawaii, italian sodas, and more! I ordered their Almond Cappuccino which was the best one Ive had soo far! It is cheaper than Barefoot and Starbucks by a buck and a half and their vegan pastries are delish!! We also had the creme brulee gelato which tasted exactly like the real thing. The prices are better, the taste is better, the vibe is better, etc. I have finally found my new home to study and relax with people! :)) I'm definitely coming back! read more

I'm a fan of their Almond Cappuccino! They offer pastries of all kinds. I have yet to try their breakfast selection. Inside there are a lot of tables and chairs to chill alone to read or hang with friends. They offer free Wi-Fi which is great if you want to study or go onto the internet with your laptop. I like how they also offer tables and chairs outside for you to sit. This is especially great if you want to bring your furry friend along with you while you get a cup of coffee and/or a snack.
