I've been coming to Ogunquit for 10 years, and passed this place dozens of time on my way to other restaurants or ice cream.. It's so close to the road that I assumed the outdoor space wouldn't be pleasant, and it looked like it was trying too hard to stand out and wouldn't be good. I was pleasantly suprised. First, the food was good. Not outstanding, but very solid. Second, while not a great value, I would not say it's overpriced. On a Saturday night at 7 pm you just don't have a lot of options without reservations, and BeachFire bent over backwards to accommodate our party of 6. Even the owner was helping out, bringing food to the tables. Our waitress Jennifer really tried to please. The service did it's best against the crush of people, and overall I think it's a fine place to eat, and a fine fire to sit around and have cocktails. Would eat there again. read more

We went to Beachfire despite the less than great yelp reviews and was as disappointed as those who previously reviewed. Bad service. Wouldn't seat us even though there were plenty of empty tables around because the chef had gotten behind and so many people were waiting on their food. Expensive!!! So pricey for no reason. My burger was burnt to a crisp despite asking for it medium. The fried pickles and onion rings were good and that's the only reason for giving this place 2 stars. There are way better places in ogunquit...go elsewhere with your time and money. read more

I wanted to like this place, but the food definitely isn't worth the price. $24 for fried scallops and clam strips sounded a bit much, but I thought maybe the portions would be generous. The food was generous in terms of the portions but just okay in terms of quality, especially for the prices (which were WAY too high). The atmosphere is good--we sat outside near the fire, which was perfect as the sun went down and it got a little chilly. The best part of this place, by far, was the excellent people-watching in the outdoor seating area. Perhaps it was just the randomness of a Tuesday night crowd, but we would give it an A+. If you don't mind paying the up-charge for the atmosphere and your expectations for standard American fare aren't too high, BeachFire is a great option. The food here is very good, as for our server Carrie she was rude and not hospitable at all. There were 6 of us, 5 of us got our meals and the 6th person waited and was told yours is coming "sometime". Carrie also messed up the bills and made no effort to fix it or apologize for the error. My husband and I have been coming here for years, as we live right down the street. We've always loved coming here. I understand they are now under new management and apparently times have changed. We took a seat and waited about a half hour to get a menu (which we had to ask for), and then another 15 minutes. When no one came to take our order, we finally decided to leave. They weren't anywhere close to busy...no line outside the door, or at the bar. They must be doing so well that they don't need our business. The steak tips are also great, and the The smoked food is great including the lobster and Buffalo wings (though the wings can sometimes be a bit over charred). Great atmosphere and very good service. As for BBQ? I just found it ok. As someone who spent time in Texas, maybe My expectations for BBQ are tainted. The pulled pork is very good. But the brisket is more like pot roast with BBQ sauce. And the chicken is a bit over cooked. Not sure they actually have a "smoker". If they do, doesn't necessarily seem it. Definitely a good alternative to seafood, and great atmosphere and service, but would suggest they up their bbq game. People next to us liked their burgers though. read more

Decided to try Beachfire again, same decor but the menu has been updated with some very good selections. The beer menu was upgraded as well with some good local selections. Overall our experience was much better than before and would definitely recommend a visit. read more

This is by far my favorite place in Ogunquit. I've been coming here for years but the food and service have definitely reached new heights since Jared took the place over in the fall. The fish is the freshest in town. We almost always get the fish and chips. Not greasy and great sized pieces of the freshest and tastiest fish. The wings are amazing and they will definitely make them as hot or mild as you like. The bar staff is attentive and make amazing cocktails. Nick and Chuck are the absolute friendliest barkeeps and we never have to wait for a refill. Great job guys. Keep up the great work. read more

Good place to go for easy bbq or casual dinner. BeachFire accommodated our large party of 10 on fairly short notice. I emailed them on Thursday night with a rough estimate, they emailed back on Friday morn, I confirmed Saturday morn via email. The food was fantastic, especially the pulled pork and bacon topped burger. Our waitress was attentive, quick, and friendly. I just wish I remembered her name!!! I did experience two negatives in the haddock and the margarita. A member of my party said the haddock tasted a little off (not something you want with fish) and my margarita was a little heavy on the mix. Minor negatives in the grand scheme of the evening with our large party. I'll be recommending BeachFire to friends and you'll definitely be seeing me there again! read more

Just a standard nothing fancy menu, but with outrageous prices for what you get. Literally can get their equivalent or same dinner items at any restaurant for easily half (or less!) price elsewhere. They have the best mixed drinks and friendliest staff around (in addition to a great and constantly hanging selection of beer). We were here on a Thursday night, around 6:30 and for a table for 3 we were quoted 45 minutes. So we were okay with it, ordered some drinks, the spinach and artichoke dip, and took a seat by the nice fire pit outside. There were 4+ open tables outside and many open tables inside, so this was a little frustrating. We were all feeling good except for when our 45 minute wait turned into close to an hour and a half wait. Where at that point, we were all turned off from eating there and left with empty bellys because we didn't want to be eating at 9:00 by the time the food would come out. Went to BeachFire because we had never been. We were underwhelmed. Fish tacos were cold, when asked how they were I told the waiter. Bill still included the tacos which I did not eat. No apology. Not impressed-another restaurant that does not cater to locals and obviously does not want return business. We will stick with favorites, BeachFire is not on that list. read more

Nice place . Servers was nice but it takes a while for things to come out of the kitchen. Nachos where very good , risotto was good but way too much zucchini. Steak tips where great . Don't eat dessert..,just bad . Chocolate cake was dry , pie was a hot greasy mess , peanut butter pie was good but not thrilling. Stopped in while waiting for my family arrive for a long weekend up in Wells. If it wasnt for a delicious Peak Organic Summer the whole thing wouldve been a total waste of money. Sat at the bar and the service was just fine, but the pulled pork nachos were completely blah. Not even close to enough pork to cover half the nachos, for $14 I was expecting a lot more. It was one experience, so maybe you can do better with other menu items, but I have to imagine that there are plenty of better options real close by. read more

The kitchen is open until 9 but they said they needed to stop seating people early tonight without any good explanation. We mentioned we had a birthday and the host also did not care.
