We arrived a little after 5 on a Monday. We were immediately seated on the deck which overlooked the ICW, the bay, and the Vilano Beach pier. Our server was Chloe, and she was very enjoyable to talk to. We ordered a few malt beverages and our entrees. We received them in a timely manner. Beaches was our first spot on Vilano Beach for Memorial Weekend. We had been there before on our last trip to Saint Augustine, but were staying close by and wanted to enjoy a quick lunch on the water before checking into our hotel. When we pulled up to Beaches, we noticed that it was extremely crowded - even quoting us 30 minutes to sit down for a table. No big deal. We ordered some margaritas at the bar while we waited, which were delicious and refreshing. Upon being seated at our table, we were quickly approached by our waitress, Jackie. Jackie was super friendly and quickly took our order - Shrimp tacos with Sweet Potato Fries and 1lb of shrimp cocktail. We clearly love shrimp. Our food quickly arrived and it was absolutely delicious. The shrimp was fresh and the sweet potato fries were nice and crispy (just how we like them!). After finishing our meal within 15 minutes, we were waiting our bill from Jackie. Unfortunately, Jackie was no where to be found. Since we were on vacation, I instructed my fiance to be patient and enjoy the view - but after 30-35 minutes, I started to get frustrated myself. We finally saw Jackie taking care of another large party, which eased our concerns a little bit. After she left that table, she went missing again. We finally flagged down another waitress to request that she come to our table, because we were now at this restaurants for 1.5 hours, when our food took 20 minutes to come out! I accidently called these Nacho Bel Grande..the taco bell version and Zenia caught it. Pretty funny. These Nacho Grande was huge! Multilayered tortilla chips sprinkled with nacho cheese, shredded cheese, and steak. It had guacamole and sour cream on the side. Might try the beef next time. Definitely worth every penny. $20.99 to be exact. Sure it seems like a lot of nachos for such a little price but how often do you get out there and enjoy food with friends. Not enough. Enjoy this monstrosity! HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting 2 Cheese sauce. I feel there is never enough cheese on nachos ever. CONCH FRITTERS Now these hushpuppies were a tasty suprise. The dough of this appetizer is moist not dry like a hushpuppy. It is delicious with a hint of conch in every bite. That dipping sauce accompanied with the Conch Fritters was surprisingly unique to dips I ever had. You could slather that on anything. ENTRÉE I enjoy the 8oz Flat Iron Steak (Medium-rare) with Broccoli and plantains (fried bananas) with Cilantro Chimchurri Sauce. That steak was cooked to perfection and I drowned it in that Chimchurri sauce. That steak with all green. So moist and melt in my mouth delicious. I finished it. I had nothing to bring home which I was sad about. The broccoli was steamed and drizzled in a buttery seasoned substance that made stopping from eating these vegetables impossible. The fried plantains were also delicious but isnt fried bananas always good! No complaints about this dish at all. I am sure you can change the sides to what you desire but since this was my first time here, I wanted to try the original plate then change it to different sides with each return. Oh I do plan on returning and enjoying another dish, or maybe this very same dish. Who knows! Life is always changing as do these taste buds. Beaches at Vilano is a beautiful spot to enjoy a drink and the sunset, right by the public pier. There's plenty of parking, however much of it is sand and I left with mud caked on my car and was disappointed by that. We sat outside, though we were told 20-25 minutes and had just ordered a drink at the bar when we were called. It had been 2 mins, so not sure how their planning system is. We enjoyed our drinks and both the coconut shrimp basket and fish tacos, and had fair service. The value is fair as well, and is a place I'll gladly return to for a casual relaxed hangout. read more

Enjoyed lunch here overlooking the river. The view was really nice and the breeze from the river made for a pleasant atmosphere. Started out with some Bloody Marys and appetizers of onion rings and hush puppies. The hush puppies were fresh and flaky. They were cooked perfectly. I had the High Tide Tacos with flat iron steak and my wife had the Sunset Shrimp Tacos. Both came with 3 large tacos and the plates were filled with food. I had the tater tots which were cooked with the perfect amount of crispness. Our waitress was Charity and she was phenomenal! She took care of our every need quickly and with a smile. Chose this restaurant leading up to a red boat night of lights Christmas tour ultimately leaving to go to 180 Vilano Grill & Pizza which was outstanding from A to Z. Beaches @ Vilano needs an in house remodel as the customer service acknowledgement was non existent at best. Such a major disappointment and bad look for the Vilano area. I was in town for a friend's spa day and she choose this dinner spot. I got to say I was not impressed with the food or our waitress. We got some drinks to start, I got a mojito. It was eh, mostly tasted like soda water. For food I ordered the Sunset Shrimp Tacos. You get 3 tacos and one side. The tacos really didn't have anything on them besides the shrimp -its sauce and lettuce, so it was kind of sad. And the sauce was not even on the lettuce, so that was not very tasty to eat. Heads up, the shrimp sauce was also very spicy! I got onion rings as my side. They were just okay. Not bad but not amazing. Nothing I'd search out for. I was with a group of 5 ladies total, and we all wanted separate checks. I ended up taking my friends to check to pay for hers, so I had two receipts by my credit card. And our waitress could not figure it out and ended up messing it all up. She was not happy with us at all, even though it was her fault, and she didn't say sorry or offer to fix the problem. As a member of a bachelorette party that recently visited this establishment, I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience with the hope that it serves as a cautionary tale for others. Our evening took a turn for the worse when we parked. Our boat tour ticket said to park in the restaurant parking lot. Instead of being met with a polite request to move our vehicles until we were ready for dinner- we were subjected to an outburst of verbal abuse from an incredibly rude employee. This individual's behavior was not only shocking but also completely uncalled for, considering we were paying customers. The employee's aggressive and disrespectful approach left us feeling humiliated and embarrassed. It is disheartening to think that someone representing this establishment could treat customers with such disdain and hostility. We were simply trying to enjoy a special occasion, and instead, we were met with unwarranted aggression. To make matters worse, when we brought the issue to the attention of the manager, he came out and engaged in a heated argument with the employee right in front of us. Witnessing this unprofessional exchange only added to our frustration and disbelief. It was clear that the management had failed to properly address the situation, further tarnishing our experience. The manager ended up coming over to us and telling us this rude parking attendant was in the right! He said he is aggressive because people are aggressive with him. We had not said a word to this parking attendant before he was yelling at us. He even put his arm out at me. We absolutely couldn't believe this manager was defending this disgruntled parking attendant. Now after this whole experience we are running late for our boat tour and the manager then tells us we actually are supposed to park in this parking lot. As a member of the bachelorette party, I had hoped for a memorable and enjoyable evening. However, the rude behavior of the employee, coupled with the unprofessional conduct of the manager, overshadowed any positive aspects of our visit. It is disheartening to have such a negative encounter during what should have been a joyous celebration. I strongly caution potential customers against choosing this establishment, as the presence of such ill-mannered and unprofessional staff members reflects poorly on the entire business. No one should have to endure such mistreatment, especially when they are paying for a service. After our cruise we did have plans to dine at this establishment- we decided to take our business to Barley Republic instead.(it was AMAZING). Beaches restaurant lost out on serving 11 people because of this encounter. They also lost any chance of our group recommending this establishment to anyone visiting in the future. Word of mouth goes a long way. In conclusion, the rude behavior of the employee, followed by the unprofessional argument between the manager and the employee, completely marred our bachelorette party experience. It is my sincere hope that the management takes immediate action to address these issues and ensure that no other customers have to endure such mistreatment in the future. read more

Loved the ambiance of this place. Right on the water, great view, perfect sea breeze. Dog-friendly patio so puppies all over the place! :) We just had drinks out on the deck and shared some fries (they have great bbq for dipping btw). Unfortunately, we didn't have time to eat anything else, but the food looked delicious. Table next to us got some crab legs that looked out of this world. If you're looking for a fun, casual place on the water to drink and have some good food, and maybe bring your pup, this is the place. Our server Jonathan H did an excellent job. First, when I gave my phone number to the hostess it was entered incorrectly. Not a problem as Jonathan came around asking if my name was Chris. Excellent service! They could have said they tried and I didn't answer but that was not the case. Jonathan was spot on in serving us our meal which came to us hot and tasted very good. I am extremely glad we were not scared off by the 3.5 stars. The rating should be much higher. We had several bar drinks, fresh Mahi tacos and fresh Mahi sandwich. So good! Everything was great! This place was my go-to whenever I wanted to take my mom to lunch because she loved the views and the delicious food, but it's been lacking as of recently. The restaurant was way too loud and even sitting tucked away in the corner I couldn't hear what my brother was saying sitting right next to me. They should definitely invest in some noise dampening renovations. Our standard appetizer order is always the nachos grande since they keep the delicate balance between chip and toppings carefully or at least they used to. This past time the cheese was overflowing in a bad way and the chips lost their crispiness after sitting there for only few minutes. Each of use got a different entree as well. I got the crab cakes off their appetizer list because I wasn't too hungry and a side of tater tots. My mom got her usual order of the spiced honey glazed salmon over a bed of rice with a side of steamed broccoli and french fries, and my brother got the spiced honey glazed salmon with sweet potato fries and steamed broccoli. My brother and I's entree came out at the same time, but we waited an additional 10 minutes for my mom's which was kind of ridiculous. Even then her food already felt cold to the touch as is someone had made it, but it had been sitting in the back not picked up the entire time. The french fries, sweet potato fries and the tator tots were all very bland and tasted old. The blue crabs I got would've been good if I didn't keep biting into crab shell every third bite. The salmon was overly drenched in the honey sauce. The only edible food was the steamed broccoli and I would've been really concerned if that was messed up! I will update my review next time I go back if it's any better or worse, but I will be back atleast one more time just because it was my mom's favorite restaurant for so long. read more

On a December warm day, we visited Beaches at Villano to have cocktails and dinner. They have a large deck which sits on the Tolomoto River where you can view gorgeous sunsets. We were there for happy hour and enjoyed delicious cocktails at a reduced price. My wife ordered blackened Mahi Mahi with sweet potato fries and coleslaw which she enjoyed. I had the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were good but grit cake was very dense and starchy. We shared a piece of key lime pie which was average. Our waiter was personable and knowledgeable. My husband and I headed here for dinner on a Friday night. The deck was very crowded so there was a little bit of a wait, not too bad though. We put our name in and asked for an outside table. We then walked around on the pier for a little bit, it's right next to the restaurant. When they texted us that out table was ready, we were seated inside, which wasn't a big deal, it was much quieter inside than outside. Decor is nice, very beachy. My husband has a gluten sensitivity and we were very happy to see everything gluten-free/friendly clearly marked in the menu. He ordered the Caribbean Jerk Chicken, and I got the Flat Iron Steak and a mojito. The drink came out very quickly and was very strong. The food came out and was excellent. I forgot to take pictures we ate so fast! Both dishes came with broccoli (probably the best I've ever had at a restaurant) and plantains, and the chicken came with rice. The cut of steak was nice and tender, cooked perfectly medium. We were too full for dessert but very happy with our meal. We definitely will be back again. read more

I went to celebrate with a group of friends for a birthday party and my friend ( the birthday girl) saw she had black dead flys in her drink .. after 2 drinks she was disgusted and the waitress was very understanding and got the manager over right away. After the manager approached the situation I will never go back. She was offended and didn't offer to make it right. This restaurant is VERY outdated and the food does not have good flavor.
