Terrible customer service, didn't even get to try the food to rate the restaurant. I arrived at the restaurant around 10:30am just me and my infant nephew. I waited 5mins just for the host to come up to the front. She then wrote my name and number and told me it would be 20-25mins. I waited outside for about 15mins then went and sat in my car. 40mins had passed so I went back in to check. That's when another employee who claimed to be a manager said they weren't seating anyone else for the rest of the day. I informed her I was already on the list and had been waiting. She said they were training for the rest of the day so I couldn't be seated. I asked to speak to a manager because I did not know she was a manager at the time. Another manager came and stated they weren't seating anyone else because they ran out of most of their food. I asked them why didn't they Atleast call and tell me that information especially since I had already been waiting for 40 minutes. They got very defensive and upset at my response. Communication and customer service is very important when running a restaurant. I was very disappointed with my experience. read more

Ordered the TiTis Soul Food. (On a Tuesday at 1pm) Waited over an hour for food. They were out of cabbage and kitchen requested substitution. Requested seasoned potatoes. Potatoes had a small hair halfway the bowl. Requested manager/owner. Notified of concern. He dumped the potatoes in his hand, digging through them to insinuate that I was stating false information. Asked to have the item removed. He huffed and stormed off with an attitude. Unprofessional!!! I have visited previously and highly recommended this restaurant. Pretty disappointing experience. We were told the food would take about 20 minutes since the kitchen was backed up, but it ended up taking nearly an hour and a half -- for french toast. Definitely not worth the wait. If you sit outside, expect slower service. There were only 2-3 servers and apparently just 2 cooks handling the whole restaurant. It really showed in the speed of service and overall efficiency. Jaime was our waitress and she was great! We had questions about the menu and she made great recommendations. Highly recommend the mimosa flight, the Rosemary Grapefruit was my favorite. Beignets were great... soft, flaky, and cooked just right. I had the chicken and waffles, the chicken was seasoned to perfection. My friend had the chicken and mac(also served with cabbage and sweet potatoes), her dish was not lacking anything. Great service, great food, and well priced. First time trying this place out with a friend. We were lucky to only have to wait for a table to be wiped down. We were seated and got our waters right away. The problem was after ordering, we waited at least 40 mins to get our food. We were not asked if we wanted more water or kept updated when our food would be coming out - or honestly an apology for the long wait would have worked. The food was good though. The issue is that my friend and I were sat together and her receipt was rung up differently than what she ordered - she got the Chicken and French toast. She should have been charged $19.90 like it said on the menu, but was charged more. She didn't think it was worth the hassle so she paid it, but I brought up afterwards how it was odd gratuity was 18% when that's usually only forced for parties of 6 or more at more restaurants. She then told me she was only charged 13%. Very weird to be charging the same group of people different amounts. We stopped in Tuesday 8/5/25 around 1pm. We planned to meet up family. I reviewed the menu and was excited to try this spot. Ambience was pleasant. I was excited to see numerous tables with Mimosas as the drinks because that is my jam. I went to the hostess stand. My daughter and I arrived but would end up being a table of 6. We were waiting for the rest of our party to arrive and they were right around the corner. We let the hostess know that we would need a table for 6. There were 3 empty tables, which would accommodate 4 people each. Other than that, all tables were full. She looked anxious as to how to seat us. After she spoke with another coworker, she explained to me that it would be about 10 minutes. I let her know that it was totally fine and stepped over to the side by the door. The space in front of the hostess stand was the front door and then an empty space about 2ftx5ft. We made our way there to wait for the rest of our family. The same employee that discussed with the hostess about the table availability asked us if we could wait in our car. I was completely confused. I let her know that her request was a weird one. She said management did not like anyone standing by the front door. I made a confused face and was starting to get upset. I let her know I have never heard of that. She did apologize. I made my way to my car and we left to go to Toasted Yolk. I reached out to the rest of my party and let them know we would not dine at this restaurant. I cancelled my text reservation that they sent me. Completely ridiculous! I have been to many restaurants where there is a wait and I understand. The restaurant was almost full but we were the only ones waiting for a table by an area that was completely empty. Enough space for a bench or chairs for CUSTOMERS to wait, which there were none. To ask anyone to sit in their cars when there is space inside by the door is ridiculous. They were not at capacity to violate Fire Code. This is the start of our experience when it is not packed? I have read other reviews and the customer service has not been favorable. . We will not be coming back and will not recommend this place. I visited B&B a couple Sundays ago. It was busy as I expected and was told it would be a 45-minute wait. I saw there was an open table outside and asked if the table was available, the weather at that time was nice. The greeter said that it was available and we were seated. It was the only table outside that did have an umbrella and we later found out the leg of the table was missing a ped, so it was imbalanced. Initially when our order was taken, which took some time, I order one of the flavored coffees, which ended up being entirely too sweet. As for our food order we had a pancake with fruit on the side, and I ordered the Pulled beef brisket skillet. We sat for quite some time and the sun became an issue for me. I thought we would have been done with our food before the heat kicked in. As we waited for out food four servers came to out table asking if the food they had in hand was ours, not know where the orders were to go. My grandsons pancakes came out first, and the server said the plate was hot, it wasn't and neither was the pancake. I waited some time for my food to come and once it did it was room temp. I could taste that it taste good but not warm at all. I spoke to one of the servers and requested to see if a table would be available to possibly move. A table outside with and umbrella became available. I waited a moment thinking someone would come assist us to move out items, but no one ever came. As I proceeded to move with my grandson another couple came. I told them that that we were being relocated to that table and they proceeded to sit down. At that point I waited for someone to come back to and told them what had happened and no signs of concerns or correction. At that point a requested to speak with a manager, and to-go boxes. I waited quite some time for the manager and they never came. The heat was taking a toll (heat exhaustion), and I need to get out of the sun along with being hungry because I didn't eat my food. I paid the bill and, on the way, out we went inside to try and wait for the manager, who come to find out was the young lady who took out order. When she circled back to check on us I mentioned the issues we had especially with the food. She offered to comp our meal and I told her I already paid. Not thinking in that moment I should have asked her to reverse charges. She apologized and gave me one 30% off coupon which clearly didn't match the offer to comp out meal, which would have been the right thing to do. If a table is out of commission they should be removed completely. Shortage of servers and miscommunication amongst them and management was terrible. They were nice enough, but basic customer service and communication was greatly missing. Disappointed onmy first visit. read more

Since returning to Houston there are a number of choices for breakfasts and brunch. Of course my number one choice is still First Watch but I met a friend today at Batters and Brunch in an effort to support a new business in the area. This was a mistake and one I will not make again. First of all the restaurant is extremely small. There was no hostess when you walk in and we waited about 5 minutes before being seated and another 10 minutes before someone took our drink order. We were encouraged to try the beignets only to be told they ran out yesterday. Why didn't you know that? No worries we ordered our food and this is where it went bad. We waited for another 20 minutes before someone asked if we were doing fine. We explained that not only have we waited for that time there others that came in, waited to be seated at least 10 minutes ordered their food and then received their food before us. After the waitress checked on us another lady checked and told us that it was going to be another 5 or 6 minutes and that there were two other orders ahead of us. When we got our food some was warm but most was cold. My order was not correct. This was not what we expected and I will not be back. Trying to support black owned businesses just do not always pan out. Never again. read more
