The menu was stacked with pasta, charcuterie, and appetizer options most for around $10 we got there promptly at 5 PM on a Friday and it was already starting to fill up. Burrata flight- enough said. But seriously, the inside was very pretty, beautiful designed. Service was very friendly and quick. We came around 5 PM which ended up being a sort of happy hour time where some of the passes were essentially half off. We came for the burrata flight couldn't resist, trying a pasta at that price. The pasta was delicious, we got a carbonara type pasta. We didn't even ask, but they split it into two plates for us which was lovely. But, back to the burrata flight. Delicious. It comes with five pre-chosen options however, you can always add on à la carte cheese - which we had to because we wanted to try the truffle burrata. The cheeses were all pretty unique in flavor and texture. We also added on a side of meat charcuterie. They do have an option to get both a cheese and meat platter. Then, she's pretty filling though. For two people we probably would have been nicely full without the pasta. My only complaint, is that the flight does not come with that much bread all that it comes with is what was shown on the plate with the cheeses. We got a side of focaccia, which also wasn't the best focaccia I had, and was quite small for the price. My girlfriend and I came here on a weekday evening and the Bastone team did not disappoint! The atmosphere is nice here, good for a casual date but also good for a small group of friends. Matt, our server, was really lovely! Had great recommendations for drinks and food. We got a few items from the happy hour menu as well as the dinner menu. We made our own charcuterie (the duck prosciutto and fresh mozzarella was to die for), got the honey ricotta crostini (they aren't playing about the "tini"part of this), the cacio e pepe, and a few cocktails. Most everything we had was delicious, the only complaint I had was the cacio e pepe in which the pepe was considerably burnt. Matt replaced it right away with a beautiful sage butter pasta that we loved. All in all, it was a good experience and I will be back again! There are many upscale Italian places in Atlanta, and admittedly, I haven't been to them all, but I can say that Bastone stands out. The menu is not big--they have a cheese and charcuteria section (a definite focus of the restaurant), a pasta section (another focus, as the pasta is made fresh in house every day), and just a couple of non-pasta entree options. I feel like a small menu tends to be a good sign. Rather than putting a bunch of items on the menu that they may not be really stoked on, just to appease everyone's idea of what *should* be on the menu, they focus on what they love to make and know they make well. At Bastone, that approach works, because the menu has no skips. It's been almost a week since dinner at Bastone and I'm still thinking about their house pulled mozzarella: the fatt' a mano. This is part of their cheese list, five of which you can get on a cheese tasting flight if you so choose. Since there were only two of us at dinner, we didn't get the whole flight, but we did get two cheeses (the fatt' a mano and the lioni truffle burrata) with focaccia, artichokes, and olives. Everything was perfect, and we could really tell how fresh the mozzarella was. They make it in house to order! We didn't have any of the other appetizers or salumi because my dinner buddy is vegetarian, but it looked like an awesome selection that I'd love to try another time. For entrees, I had the potato gnocchi and my dinner buddy had the lemon and ricotta occhi. The potato gnocchi combines fluffy light gnocchi with a rich and savory chicken ragu. I realized halfway through that the dish is like a reimagined poutine, which only made me like it more. Think about it...potato gnocchi, shredded meat with gravy, chives, cheese, potato skins! It's poutine! I felt so comforted eating it. The lemon and ricotta occhi was light and summery. We also had some cocktails including The Stars are Projectors and they were all great. For dessert we had the peach-y one with delicious toasted almonds on top, the perfect coda to a perfect meal. I can't wait to go back. I'd usually reserve this for a special occasion, but I hear their happy hour is an awesome deal so I'm planning to try their happy hour. Celebrated 6 months married here! It was a great experience to add to our memories. Everything was smooth from the reservation on Open Table to getting to the easily accessible midtown location with valet parking(which I love, as I hate backing into parking spaces in crowded locations) and experiencing the famously known, hand-made-while-you-watch Mozzarella Ball. This is, what I call, an "experience" venue - as its a bit too pricy to be my weekend casual dining, but certainly worth it for a night out, celebration or to experience something new. The butter soft Mozzarella is everything, everyone is raving about- an amazing treat with its mild favor being enhanced with EVOO and a little pepper. My steak was perfectly prepared- medium well- juicy with a little pink inside for flavor and paired well with the rainbow carrots. My husband loved the Gnocchi(although since I hate mushrooms, I can't advise of this ) however it looked flavorful and he did not let it sit too long) The fried calamari and vegetables were also a treat, as they were not too oily or over cooked, but had a light batter/crust that did not take away from their own flavors. My only caution- if you have trouble seeing menus with fine print in dimly lit resturant's- look online prior to attending or have the staff talk you through the menu. My husband and I found it hard to read the menus. We had to pull out phones for light and to enlarge the print. (no we are not seniors ) I finally gave up and asked for the website to review it online. I first learned about Bastone through TikTok and knew I had to try it when I heard it was a mozz bar! From the food, to the service, and the ambiance - Bastone is a gem in ATL. The first time I went, my friend and I went during brunch. We tried the mozzarella tasting board, Paccheri, and Baked Burrata with a cup of Americano. - The mozzarella was incredible and our lovely server took her time to explain each cheese and where it was sourced from - including the one that is hand-pulled in house! You can also go up to the mozz bar and watch them pull it right in front of you - such a cool experience that really brings you closer to the food! - My gosh, I still think about that Paccheri pasta every day. The dish came with rigatoni, pork genovese, basil veloute, and pistachios. Lemme tell ya, this dish will have you DROOOOLING. The pork was so tender and the sauce was unbelievable. - There is also a large brunch buffet style selection if you're into that! After my first visit, I shared my experience on my sister and I's food blog - @grubgalz on Instagram - and the Bastone team was super nice and invited us back for Apertivo hour. This time, we tried the Prosciutto Arancini, Cacio e Pepe, Potato Gnocchi, and of course - the mozzarella tasting. - During our visit, the manager came and told us that the chef thought the potato gnocchi was too mushy to serve, and suggested another pasta. We appreciated this so much, because it really just shows how much Bastone cares about the quality of their food and the experience of their customers. PRE-DINING I've dined here twice for dinner (11/5 and 11/13) and enjoyed it both times. I made a reservation via OpenTable the first time, and the second time I was able to snag a few seats at the bar to dine at. They have valet parking which I opted for as the parking lot looks fairly small and cramped. AMBIANCE You can't miss the bright red Bastone marquee light sign as you pull up to the restaurant. The lighting is bright and the decor is elegant casual with mirrors and live plants adding to the ambiance. SERVICE Our waiter on 11/5 (Rhett) was very friendly and knowledgeable and added to our experience. When we asked him how one of the cocktails was made, he came back with the ingredients for us to make it at home ourselves! F & B Since Bastone is known as a mozzarella bar, we of course had to try the mozzarella. We did the mozzarella tasting and selected the first 5 off of the menu. That ended up being quite a bit for two people so I would recommend trying two if you are just a party of two or three (Fatt A Mono is their house mozzarella and was our favorite). Here is what we had in total: *Berried alive + medal of valor (cocktails) - medal of valor is a perfect fall drink! *Mozzarella tasting *Radicchio salad - was a little bitter but to be expected with this type of lettuce *Paccheri pasta (substitute the gluten free house made rigatoni pasta) *Parpadella pasta - lacked seasoning and would have liked more mushrooms and less celery root GLUTEN FREE TIPS* You can have any of the pastas made with house made gluten free rigatoni pasta (except for the agnolotti as it's a stuffed pasta). I had high hopes for Bastone - but I was disappointed. Went twice once for appetizers. The drinks are subpar, was not impressed with them. The Aperol spritz was so overwhelming one of my guests couldn't drink it. The food - cheese and meat boards were great! The servers had great recommendations. But the pasta, a whole other story. My mouth was dried out from the amount of salt they put in the carbonara and cacio de Pepe. Also the focaccia serving was super duper small and very very very salty. For entrees, we ordered a few different pasta dishes and all of them were phenomenal. From the service, to the food, to the ambiance everything was amazing. Our server Noah was super sweet and made sure to accommodate our group of 5 during happy hour ( Aperitivo Hour Monday - Sunday 4pm-6pm ) on a Friday night. Had an amazing first experience with Noah at this restaurant. His recommendations were spot on. We began with a small board that included an 18 month prosciutto, my fav, and a duck prosciutto. The board was accompanied with honey, olives, pretzels and a Siano Burrata cheese. We also ordered a Fatt Amano mozzarella that was made in house. Amazing!!!!! We next had the pearson peaches salad which was a little bitter because of the greens but very fresh and pallet cleansing. The cucumber salad was better and more in line with my taste. I've been wanting to try out this new restaurant and heard all about the mozzarella bar. I was only able to get a reservation the week of my visit at 4:30, so there we were. Parking is valet only or street parking. They had over 10 different ones and we got the chef's tasting, which included a warm, homemade mozzarella that way my favorite. It was chewy and more solid than any of the others we had with the tasting. We got the large board as well. that had meats and came with one mozzarella as well (do you sense a theme here?). The board also included a stracciatella sauce that was amazing, but on the meats, and with the foccocia we got. We opted for the barese as it had cheese baked into the middle. For my pasta, I got the black lumache and it was amazing! The sauce had the perfect kick and there was a decent amount of mussels. The service was great to boot. read more

It was quite busy but the service was still on point. We had a couple gift cards to use and got some cocktails and some of their in-house made burrata. Freshly made cheese is just different. Its to bright and stretchy, fresh, clean. They serve it with a splash of high quality olive oil and freshly ground pepper and flaky malden salt. The main focus of this restaurant is mozzarella and wine but their pastas and craft cocktails are also delicious. This restaurant is a perfect place to grab drinks and appetizers before a night out or have a date night with your significant other. My favorite part about this restaurant is that they hand-pull their mozzarella. Our server told us that the next closest place that does this is in NYC. Make sure to get a little bread with it - we got the Tigelle. We tried two pasta dishes, Doppio and the Bucatini. The portions are pretty small (we took a photo with one of our phones for reference). I went with a friend for happy hour. We made reservations for 4 o'clock, which is when they open and happy hour. We were seated immediately. Our waitress was awesome. We got the Pasta parmesan experience. It was nice, it was expensive. I don't necessarily recommend it because of the price point. Bastone is the cutest little afternoon date idea. It has a very upscale vibe without being over the top. Me & a friend came here for happy hour. And ended up being here for hours. I loved that they really didn't have what I wanted but he asked what I liked made drinks that were amazing. The straciatella is bomb though - the only good part of my meal. The rest of our food (eggplant rolitini and porcheri) were bland and lacked depth. The eggplant was undercooked and difficult to chew. The porcheri pasta tasted of meat and not much else. Hopefully, the winter menu is more exciting. The service was okay, but the restaurant vibe is always nice. If you're looking for a real treat of a meal, you're in the right place. Some housekeeping items: They take reservations online but when we walked in around 6 on a Thursday, they were relatively empty. I will say their parking sitch is less than ideal- valet for $35, garage, or street meter parking. The hostesses at the front were less than welcoming. Our waiter was a delight. Explained the menu to us and gave us solid recommendations. The drinks are strong. I ordered the breezeway and felt slightly intoxicated within two sips (but maybe that's a me problem?). Our table of three ordered the chefs selection of fresh mozz. Surprisingly, the crowd favorite at our table was the one that wasn't in a ball shape. Anyway, it was a fun experience to try different mozzarellas and you can tell it's top notch quality and extremely fresh. The foccacia is good but the ratio of bread to cheese is quite off. For the main dish, I ordered the one with sausage, kale, and either ricotta or mozz. VERY rich and decadent dish that has a nice crunchy touch of hazelnut. On the salty side. I only ate about half of it and was able to take the rest home to eat the next day with additional cooked kale. Overall, definitely a pricier dinner but worth the treat for higher quality! read more
