    Happy hour fries
    Kiora H.

I decided to try the girl dinner happy hour with some girlfriends on a Wednesday after work. We got there at like 5:30ish and they only had this low table and a variety or chairs left but that was the only table that wasn't outside so we took it. The normal "happy meal" is unlimited Caesar salad, truffle fries, and a mini martini for $20 which is a great deal. None of my friends are martini drinkers so we decided to just get unlimited Caesar and fries which is $16 and order the happy hour margaritas which was $10 and not too bad. The Caesar salad is kale and sprinkles of broccoli which might not be everyone's vibe but the salad is delicious. The fries are seasoned well and are nice and crispy. I just would've preferred a nice aioli to dip it instead of ketchup but that's just personal preference. I only had the Caesar and fries but my friends tried the burger, bougie chicken nuggets and the duck and they all said their food was really good. My only complaint was they ended up opening the windows/doors so it made the whole place super stuffy and hot and flies were flying all around our food. Other than that I would definitely return!

The most beautiful restaurant with insane plates. We absolutely adored how unique this restaurant was with delicious dishes you cant find anywhere else. The restaurant feels like a speakeasy with curtains by the doors. It is intimate and a spot that is guaranteed to impress. For date night or ladies night, definitely try this spot next time you need a new place to try. Parking is validated for the deck or Valet is available. You are going to love this spot!!

We had a great dinner last night at Avize Modern Alpine in West Midtown. I've been to a lot of restaurants and can't say I'd ever been to an "Alpine" restaurant until now. Avize describes Alpine as "a mashup of French, Italian, Swiss, German, and Austrian cultures." To me, it felt like a New American restaurant with European flair. The food, drink, service, and ambiance were solid. I think this is a fine choice for a nice night out in Atlanta. It's certainly unique. For details, keep reading. Avize opened on October 3, 2024 in West Midtown's Stockyards mixed-use development; same place as The Painted Duck (bowling). During our visit, parking options were $5-plus-tip valet and self-parking in the garage. Avize validates self-parking for 3 hours (after that, it's $5 and up). If you self-park, exit the garage on Level P3 for Avize. This is a beautiful, swanky restaurant, highlighted by a white mountain goat in the center of the dining room. In the back, there's the more casual and loungey "Bar Avize" and outdoor patio. Reservations are recommended (Resy). The two co-founders have a lot of industry experience, including in Atlanta at now-Michelin-starred Atlas (both worked at Atlas), Bacchanalia, and Mujo. Co-founder/sommelier Taurean Philpott was the one who checked us in and validated my parking. I liked that the food menu was fairly simple and straightforward. We tried most of it. Here's what we had: Drinks (no alcohol) * Le Tropic ($16) - Lyre's Italian orange, acid-adjusted pineapple, oleo saccharum, Fever-Tree ginger beer * Diet Coke x2 ($3 each) Wine * Domaine Cazes Macabeo Macabeu Amber Wine Organic 2022 ($16 glass) Cocktail * Alpine Swizzle ($20) - Planteray Mr. Fogg, Ten to One White Rum, allspice, acid-adjusted pineapple, chartreuse vegetal Amuse-Bouche * Japanese-style custard Begin * Pastrami Spiced Beet Carpaccio ($16) - horseradish yogurt, green strawberry pickle, spruce tips, dill, Brazil nut * Dandelion Salad ($16) - Georgia satsuma, pumpkin seed, truffle vinaigrette, pecorino * Frog Legs ($20) - "lemon pepper wet" * Venison Tartare ($26) - buckwheat, blueberry, walnut "ketchup," oxalis, smoke * Foie Gras Parfait ($24) - black pepper, caraway short crust, ice wine, dandelion, peach Bread Service * Pretzel rolls with house-cultured butter, sprinkled with seaweed Main Course * Fermented Carrot Bolognese ($26) - sheep's milk, horseradish, mint, pecorino * Fallow Deer ($55) - burnt eggplant, serviceberry jus, maitake, green garlic * Norwegian Halibut ($49) - summer squash, lady peas, lardo, gem veloute * Botanical Hay Smoked Duck ($65) - fermented carrot, citrus, miso -- Duck comes with its own amuse-bouche made of duck heart and beet Vegetables & Sides * Charred Cabbage ($17) - harissa, cashew cream, caraway, apple * Tartiflette ($14) - fromage blanc, yellow wine, bacon, reblochon * Pommes Rosti ($18) - smoked trout roe, elderflower cream, chive After-Dinner Cocktail * Young Grass Hoppa dessert cocktail. $16. Tempus Fugit Creme de Cacao a la Vanille, Creme de Menthe Glaciale, matcha, cream After (desserts) * Creme Brulee ($15) - pineapple, vanilla, banana * Tiramisu ($16) - black sesame, chicory, truffle * White Pepper Ice Cream ($11) - fig leaf oil, oolong milk tea Gift * Bite-sized chocolates My Alpine Swizzle cocktail was served in a fun, colorfully-decorated German beer stein. We were told some of the restaurant's investors have their favorite steins here. This and the Young Grass Hoppa were fantastic. The one thing that struck me about the food is how original and creative the dishes were. All around, they were well executed and consistently delicious; there wasn't a single bad dish. Also, they were all excellent in terms of plating and presentation. My favorites were the Beet Carpaccio, Frog Legs, Foie Gras Parfait, Deer, Halibut, Tartiflette, Pommes Rosti, and Tiramisu (finished off at the table with shaved truffle). The Deer was tender and appetizing. The Duck was a bit tough, but still had terrific flavor. There were some unexpected Asian influences, like the matcha in the dessert cocktail and the milk tea in the ice cream. Why four stars instead of five? It's close and I'm being picky here, but none of the dishes blew me away. Also, the attention to detail could've been better. For example, one of the plates served to me was wet; not a big deal, but that wouldn't happen at a place like, say, Mujo. Another example is our leftovers were boxed up and hung by the exit. No one told us they'd be left there. When we left, we had to open the boxes to figure out whose leftovers were whose (there was another unmarked bag of leftovers hanging by the exit too). Finally, there were a couple fruit flies/gnats flying around our table, one of which got into my wife's wine. I realize these are nitpicky things, but my standards are higher for a fine-dining restaurant. I recommend Avize and I hope it succeeds. A high-end Alpine restaurant in Atlanta is an ambitious and risky concept.

I visited Bar Avize, the bar & patio area behind the Avize restaurant, for the happy hour. The bar area is gorgeous and nicely decorated. It is a quaint atmosphere, with a decent amount of seating. We started with the happy hour meal (served 5-7pm everyday) which was the endless broccoli Caesar salad, endless frites and a martini. My friend and I also ordered the caviar bump and the bougie chicken nuggets. Everything was delicious, especially the chicken nuggets. The broccoli Caesar salad was very unique because it was broccoli and kale mix, but we all really enjoyed it. It's a perfect restaurant for a girl dinner to start a night out.

Came to Bar Avize with some friends for happy hour after seeing so much talk about their girl dinner. The "happy meal" is unlimited Caesar salad, truffle fries, and a mini martini for $20 but the group opted to just get unlimited Caesar and fries which is $16 and order the happy hour margaritas which was $10. A few of us got some additional items like the duck, the burger & the bougie chicken nuggets. The Caesar salad was soo good, definitely right up my alley and the fries - who can say no to truffle?! Only thing that would've made it better would have been an aioli or something other than ketchup. The bougie chicken nuggets were really good but be mindful they are spicy! I didn't mind but one of my friends couldn't take the heat. I'd opt out of getting these again next time. I was told the burger and the duck were really good! Food was really quick to come out! All you had to do was order your refills or new items directly from the website. Towards the end of our visit they ended up opening the windows/doors which let in the heat and tons of flies flying all around our food. I personally was really annoyed and no longer wanted to order anything else. Other than that I would definitely return but to the staff - please be mindful that a lot of people opt to sit inside to avoid the very thing that happened once the doors were opened.

Came for the vibes, stayed for the fries... eventually I decided to check out the viral girl dinner happy hour--because, obviously, endless truffle fries and martinis sounded like the dream. Let's start with parking: yes, there's a covered lot and they'll validate for 2 hours (maybe 3?), but before you even get a chance to pull in, there's a valet guy channeling bouncer energy. He was practically insisting on valet like he was gatekeeping the lot. I respect the hustle, but he was creating a mini traffic jam and seemed a little too annoyed that I knew self-parking was even an option. First attempt: no reservations for happy hour (which is fair), but when we arrived, it was patio seating only... on a 90° day. Hard pass. We bailed and hit up Rock Steady up the street instead (blessed A/C!). Round two, weeks later: same valet drama, but we scored indoor seating this time. Sort of a win? It was still warm enough inside that girls were fanning themselves with menus like they were at a Beyoncé concert. The A/C was trying its best, bless its heart. Now to the good part: I ordered the NYC Happy Meal (aka the girl dinner)--a martini, endless truffle fries, and endless broccoli Caesar salad. Honestly? It slapped. Everything was delicious and the portions kept flowing like a bottomless brunch dream. The servers were super on it too--refills came out fast and hot. Tiny heads-up: no blue cheese olives or hot sauce in your martini, so don't get too fancy. But overall, it's a great deal, super aesthetic, and clearly a hotspot thanks to the TikTok buzz. Would I go back? Definitely--but when the weather chills out a bit. Just be prepared for some parking shenanigans and bring a handheld fan just in case.

Diet stands for Did I Eat That~ :P Check out this new hidden gem in Atlanta. @avize.atl is a New Alpine-Inspired Restaurant in West Midtown. I was mesmerized by the Modern Alpine theme which is beautifully decorated w/ a cozy ambiance. Dazzling bar, you have to try the Alpine Swizzle!! Love the complimentary Amuse Bouche & Pretzel Bread w/ homemade butter as well. The smoked duck was cooked to perfection, juicy & smoky (highly recommended)!

Avize took over the former Nick's Westside space. So I have hope for it. Soave is nice, same layout on the inside. I dined in so not sure if they kept the fireplace. Anyway, expect an avant-garde dining experience. The chef sent out an amuse bouche to cleanse our palette which was nice. As a tartare lover, I had to try the Venison tartare as I've never had that dish. It was not what I expected but it was delicate and delish. This Alpine dining resto is def for an adventurous foodie! I think I'll be back for the champagne and caviar experience!

What an excellent experience! Atmosphere was upscale but still cozy, staff is great and very helpful. The food was delicious and very diverse. Two major standouts - lemon pepper frog legs are a MUST. And if you want to splurge a bit on dessert, get the white pepper ice cream with caviar... I have never experienced such a unique flavor experience. All in all, a great choice for a special occasion!

This place was definitely a vibe. If you like fine dining, then you should check this place out. They have some really interesting dishes. The service was great. They validate parking in the deck for 3 hours (just tell the valet guy that you want to self park). I would love to try out bar avize next.

Went here for happy hour and really enjoyed it! We sat outside on a nice sunny day, and there was plenty of shade for it to be pleasant. The Caesar salad was delicious! Service was good, you order from the app and they will bring it to you. But the staff is available for any assistance. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars is because the happy hour menu isn't much of a deal unless you get the unlimited refills option, which did not come with drinks I liked. But I would definitely return, I really enjoyed this place.

Good vibe. They have zero proof option for Riesling and beer, so really good if you want to limit on alcohol intake. Frog leg and foie gras are really good

IG helped me find this spot. It seemed like such a great deal. You can bet a Caesar salad and fries. Plus a martini! We popped over on a Friday. It was a little tricky finding how to get in. I would say walk through the parking deck to the back to find the door. We sat outside. The patio was nice just hot. Would be great to have some fans out there. The Caesar is i made with broccoli which is nice because it keep that crunch. I do wish I had added on the chicken nugget. I had my martini with gin and it was light and crisp. My only issue was the service was a little slow. Our waiter was very nice and of course we give some grace because it got a little packed. All in all i think it's a great deal!

I sat at the bar and had a little light banter with the bartender who is a brother looking to be in his late 30's-early 40's. When I asked about two fruity cocktails from the menu, he flat-out said he wasn't going to make them. That alone was off-putting. Trying to move forward, I asked what he specialized in, and he said he'd "come up with something." I agreed--but very clearly stated: no rum, because my body does not react well to it. After watching him make drinks for people who ordered after me, he eventually handed me a cocktail I never even saw him prepare. That already raised a flag. I took a few sips, and sure enough--my stomach immediately started reacting the exact way it does when I've had rum. When I asked what alcohol he used, he said, "I don't even know." That response alone tells you everything you need to know. At that point, I reminded him I specifically said no rum. Instead of taking accountability, he tried to argue and backtrack. Let me be clear--when a customer tells you not to use a specific liquor, you don't ignore it, guess, or "forget." That's basic service and basic respect. This situation completely threw off my evening, as I had plans afterward and ended up feeling sick. To make matters worse, I reached out to management and received no response. That lack of accountability speaks volumes. At the end of the day, this wasn't just a bad drink--it was careless service. This staff does not prioritize customer care, and that's a problem. If you choose to visit, be very direct, pay close attention, and don't assume your requests will be respected.
