My fiancée found a Groupon for Mistora, so we decided to check it out. Starting with logistics -- parking is a nightmare, and the only real option is valet, which is something to be aware of before you go. When we walked in, there was a lot of smoke in the space. They opened the door for ventilation, but what was supposed to be a short moment turned into quite a while, and because of where we were seated, it got uncomfortably cold. I eventually had to ask them to close the door. The staff did honor the Groupon despite some initial confusion, which I appreciated. However, once the taxes and automatic gratuity were added, the experience didn't really feel like much of a value anymore. That said, the food itself was good, and we were satisfied with the options we selected. The real highlight of this place seems to be the vibe -- the drinks and hookah -- but since we went primarily for the food, I was glad the menu delivered. Overall, not a bad experience, but expectations should be set around parking, atmosphere, and final pricing.

Went here for a bday dinner. We had a private room to ourselves which was very dimly lit. We had to ask them to turn the lights up because we could barely read the menu. They said it was part of the "aesthetic." The food was actually really amazing and everyone in my party enjoyed. My only complaint is the server barely checked in on us and didn't ask if we needed anything. We had to ask for water about 20-30 minutes after being seated. The service was just about as expected for Atlanta.

I celebrated my birthday here. I was pleasantly surprised that it was quiet and quaint. Our service was lovely and kind. The top of that was offered was tasty though my other friend found her in her food. The cocktails were tasty. It was a nice atmosphere. I'll definitely keep it a minor and come back during happy hour where they have the specials on food and cocktails!

Full disclosure: I was here on a chaotic Saturday afternoon for a pre-wedding brunch where we had the entire place booked out with a curated menu. Despite the logistical challenge of catering to a large, celebratory group, Mistora executed with sophistication. The ambiance is perfect for a neighborhood spot--small-to-medium in size, intimate, well-appointed, with the seating flowing naturally around the central bar. It's the kind of place you feel comfortable dropping into, but where the food delivers a truly elevated experience. I started with the Caramelized Brussels Sprouts. If you're usually indifferent to vegetables, prepare to be converted. They were roasted impeccably--crisp edges, sweet char, coated in a stunning honey and balsamic glaze. The addition of red pepper flakes and grated Parmesan provided a necessary, savory depth. It was, quite simply, an A-tier appetizer. For the main course, I opted for the Braised Bone-In Short Rib. This is where Mistora truly showcases its culinary intent. The ribs were slow-braised in a rich combination of red wine, beef broth, and fresh thyme, resulting in melt-off-the-bone tenderness. Served alongside were garlic-infused purple sweet potatoes and a mix of expertly sautéed carrots, celery, and onions, all finished with a creamy thyme sauce. The flavor profile was deep, comforting, and exactly what I look for in a serious entree. Now, for the one critique: the short rib arrived cold. Considering the restaurant was handling a fully booked, high-volume private event, I attribute this entirely to the necessary slowdowns of service rather than a kitchen error. The staff was visibly doing their best under pressure. I finished every last bite because the quality and flavor were undeniable, even at a suboptimal temperature. This minor hiccup, likely exclusive to a large private booking, is the only reason this isn't a perfect five-star review. The bar looks fully capable, mixing cocktails that were flowing smoothly all afternoon. Mistora is a genuinely exciting addition to the Midtown Atlanta dining scene. They understand flavor, execution, and atmosphere. I'm already planning my next visit on a normal weeknight to see this short rib served piping hot--it deserves it. Go check them out; you won't be disappointed.

The panorama of all three of Atlanta's skyscraper centers is clearly visible, along with the historical architecture of Ponce City Market. I was kinda sad that both myself and my friend were celebrating our birthday but because we were the same table, we could only get one glass of champagne. It does get crowded and I really suggest making a reservation. I made one and even still it took ages to get a table. A reservation doesn't promise a table right away but keeps you in an active queue. I can't wait to go back again.

They hold a jazz night every Tuesday with live music for a nice chill, yet fun, vibe. Just a warning, the space inside is pretty small--typically there's optional seating outside, but it's really chilly at the moment (although they have heaters)--but there's more seating downstairs in The Victorian Atlanta plant shop. I didn't realize that the two were connected! FYI, if you sit downstairs, you'll be seated next to where the live music performers will be playing, so it will be louder there. As for the drinks, I tried the Zombie. I loved it so much, I ordered a second one instead of trying a different one! It tasted sweet and slightly tropical with the rum and spiced liqueur. It also had some absinthe, which I was worried about when I first ordered it since I hate the taste of it (not a big fan of black licorice flavors), but I didn't taste it at all! Overall, this place had such a great vibe to it!
