Best meal I've had in a while, and among the best in Atlanta... including many of the Michelin-rated ones. All of the dishes and drinks we had were top-notch, including: -Garden Snake cocktail -Burrata (would have loved a few more slices of the grilled sourdough bread with it) -Olives (appeared on the specials menu, for something so simple, it really was special) -Fusilli e Scallops -Bucatini alla Bolognese -Carbonara (less eggy and more creamy than I was expecting, and thankfully the peas were not overwhelming... would have loved it with the traditional guanciale versus the pancetta but that's just splitting hairs) -Chicken Parmesan -Chocolate Torte -Ricotta Cake -Limoncello (house-made!) We split the above dishes amongst four people. Our very friendly server recommended that each of us choose a pasta and a main but we are not huge eaters. We did end up ordering a second Chocolate Torte for dessert and in hindsight we should have gotten a second main/protein... they had a pork chop special that would have been incredible. Some of the menu items were unavailable (like the trout and the gelato), not sure if this happens often, but means it's probably better to eat there on the earlier side if you want everything to be available. Our reservation was at 7:45 pm. If I had one nit picky comment, it would be that drinks do take a while to come out, but when you see the amount of craft and creativity that goes into it, you realize why. We ordered a round of mezcal shots and a few minutes later, after we'd consumed them, a server came around with orange slices to accompany it... nice gesture, even if ill timed. The restaurant has a few seating options and we opted to dine indoors, seated in a cozy booth near the hostess stand. We loved how charming the restaurant is, accompanied by equally warm/friendly service. We were catching up with friends we hadn't seen in a while and probably overstayed our welcome (we were "those" people still there while they were starting to clean up) but we never felt like we were being rushed out. As for the food, it was a bit of a mixed bag. The kale Caesar was just okay for me (6/10), and the tri-tip steak was probably the weakest part of the meal (5/10). Yesterday we visited a mano for our two year anniversary, because their lunch menu was so delicious we expected to have the same or even better experience for dinner. First: I am not going to name the waiter because at the end of the day it was busy, but our waiter the whole time didn't really check up on us, they didn't really even seem to care. They kept going back and forth from making drinks at the bar to rushing around with different tables. (It happens it was busy i'm not really even upset about that) Second: was our food... We ordered the Fritto Misto to start, It was okay.. it was really greasy. We continued to order the Pecan crusted red trout and the Chicken parmesan... This is where our issue started... The fish genuinely had no flavor, not even a pinch of salt? It was so bland I don't understand how the fish was so bland! There was no seasoning was added to that fish. It was soggy and sad. The Chicken Parmesan was sad as well, the panko chicken had no flavor, there was more panko than chicken, and the marinara sauce tasted like they used a store bought canned marinara. We hate to waste food so we did finish our dishes but it genuinely was the worst dishes we've ever consumed. I was very disappointed because the first time we went to a mano it was so good, their grilled chicken and tomato basil soup is amazing. I came here for a lunch with my team, around 11am, and we really enjoyed the experience. We sat inside but there is indoor and outdoor seating. Pretty quiet and low music so easy for conversation. The service was great. The food was timely and overall pretty good. I had a chicken sandwich which was tasty. The bread is made in house, yet it was cold. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be served that way, but warm bread would have made for a better experience in my opinion. Very small parking lot, so I parked a few blocks over and walked, which wasn't a major issue. Overall I would be back. Cutest little restaurant. It feels like you're walking into someone's home and they'll certainly treat you that way too. We recently visited for the first time to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary with our 7 year old daughter in tow. (What are you going to do when you couldn't get a babysitter? ) We were late for our reservation (Atl traffic, amirite?), but they were kind to accommodate and we were sat outside under the stairs in a cozy little nook that seats about 4 total tables. Truth is, it WAS all good with very few dings on our experience. I'd love to return soon to get another feel for this spot. Either way, here were the highlights: - cocktails are unique and daring. I landed on the whispered serenade, a sage-butter washed gin beverage that was adorned with black pepper. Husband had the black manhattan which featured a house root beer cordial. Both were a good choice! - appetizers! I could've taken a swan dive into their burrata. It was simply picture perfect. We also ordered a special appetizer for the evening, which was salmon tartare. This was such a unique, lovely dish that balanced flavors and ingredients I'd never consider pairing together, but they came together beautifully. - dinner: husband opted for the chicken parm, which was chicken thigh. The breading was thick and crunchy and the plating of it was gorgeous. I'm not the biggest fan of chicken thigh, but it was yummy. I had the bucatini bolognese. I selected this because 1) it is my understanding they make their pasta in-house and 2) I ordered bucatini the night my husband proposed so it was a bit sentimental. I'll be honest, while the pasta was delightful, the bolognese wasn't my favorite. There was very little meat in the ragu and it seemed to make up in volume with a ton of roughly chopped, cooked onions. I like onions, but this felt out of place. Luckily everything else I ate redeemed this specific dish. - post-dinner: we wanted to get dessert, but we needed to get the kiddo back to our side of town. While we opted out of dessert, Raina did deliver two sippers of limoncello and a card signed by everyone at the restaurant. I thought this was a beautiful touch. My takeaway: this is a lovely, but casual enough restaurant where you're not breaking the bank on a special night out. Great dinner experience here recently! Came here to celebrate and anniversary and everything felt very friendly and familiar, even though we had never been before. We were given an apertif to start, which although a little sweet, was a nice touch. We tried a savory martini cocktail and a black manhattan to start, and both drinks were very well made and balanced. I loved the root beer and absinthe that came through on the black manhattan. We then split a burrata which was nice, not overly creamy, and finally the main event was the chicken thigh parmigiana. It's great to finally see chicken thigh get the hype it deserves in Italian style cooking. This is a must-try dish here. Will definitely be back for it. We sat out on the patio which was lovely and besides from the car noises, it doesn't feel like you're basically in a parking lot. Finally got the chance to come her and boy did it live up to the hype! This is such a cozy spot! Its got great italian food with the cozy vibe inside. We had a reservation for 3 of us on a Friday night around 8:30. There is not a ton of parking on site but there is tons of parking around the neighborhood for free, so still lots of good options. Our table was ready right away and we had a lovely waitress who provided lots of good recommendations. She sold me on the prosciutto e melone drink which WOW so tasty and definitely could taste the prosciutto a little. For an appy, we got the burrata which was just perfect. For our entrees, we got the spinach tortellini (why do they never give a lot for tortellini!) which was a special for the evening and quite delicious. We paired it with the chicken parm which had to be the JUCIEST chicken parm ever oh my god and the fusili scallop mushroom pasta which was just perfect. Pepper pasta as a kick but it is delicious with lots of shaved cheese and it was on lunch special for only $10. I love these old houses that get converted into restaurants. They have so much character. This one has a very nice open main dining room with enclosed porch and a covered garden area. I sat at the the far window facing out to look at the garden since I was flying solo. If you're in the Old Fourth Gordon area and want a nice casual inviting experience that isn't rushed, this is your spot. Apparently it gets really busy because they were taking reservations. The little stand alone building with warm, dim lighting makes you feel like you're walking into a cabin in a winter forest. The three pours were intriguing, to say the least. Extremely herbaceous, punchy, and full of character. Definitely takes a bit to get used to, but a wonderful experience nonetheless. We also got a burrata for appetizer and two pastas. The miso carrot pasta was garlicky and slightly bitter from the kale and carrot, giving an Asian flare to the Italian dish.
