What an amazing find! My friend and I literally Googled places nearby and were so lucky to discover Bortola's Restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we loved the beautiful, warm, and cozy ambiance -- such a pleasant and inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. Our waiter Jose was attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly welcome. The food was soooo good -- fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Huge shoutout to Gigi at the bar -- the drinks were absolutely amazing! He treated us incredibly well, even surprised us with some shots on the house, and before we left he made us super, super margaritas that were unforgettable. You can really feel that this is an amazing family business. The boss personally came over to our table to make sure everything was okay, which made the experience even more special. My friend is already planning to celebrate her birthday here, and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend Bortola's to anyone looking for great food, outstanding drinks, and genuine hospitality!

This is a new spot in Hell's Kitchen. Food was delicious and flavorful, the presentation was beautiful, and we experienced the most amazing hospitality. Our group ordered the guacamole, branzino, camarones y uchepo, quesadilla de pollo, and the mixiote de borrego (lamb shank). The tamarind margarita was wonderful. The ingredients were fresh and high quality. We had a chance to meet the owners and the chef and they were so welcoming. This spot won't be a secret for long.

I was in the mood for Mexican food & was hesitant on trying this place because I've tried a lot of Mexican places around the Hell's Kitchen area & they were all mid or bad. Let me tell you this place didn't disappoint at all! I'm not going to lie, this is probably hands down one of the top 3 best customer service experiences I've ever had in my entire life. Everyone there was so nice they made me feel like family at home. Place is not huge but is very cute & even though is not big is really spacious. Bartolo himself was there & let me say he's a very nice humble caballero. We tried for starters the Empanadas de puerco & Gorditas de platano. Presentation wise beautiful! The empanadas I really enjoyed they were crispy fresh & hot the meat was seasoned the pico de gallo was nice & tasty maybe one of the best pico de gallo I had in my life. The gorditas aren't your traditional meat Gorditas this one had goat cheese it was good I'm not going to knock it. It was different. Never had goat cheese but I'm not mad at it. I will definitely get it again my gf loved it! They were also nice to give us a complimentary Sweet corn bread with refried beans and let me tell you that's when I knew they know what they doing back there. I have never had something like this is a different type of experience the corn bread was nice crispy but not to crispy & fluffy on the inside with that nice slightly salty refried beans you get that perfect sweet & salty combo! I will most definitely get that again! Now for drinks my gf had a watermelon margarita & I had a passion fruit mojito. The margarita was sweet but not to sweet refreshing but not to strong was really good I will definitely recommend. Now the entree we had the Branzino Al pastor that was recommended by our waiter I don't remember our waiter's name but he was the best!! Shout out to you! The filet was fresh, light you get that nice clean fish taste but not to fishy with that to die for coconut pineapple rice OH MY GOD! Let me just say that rice is AMAZING. I've never had rice like that but it was so goood everything blended just perfect. I must say this place is not your typical Mexican restaurant. They really stand out when it comes to Mexican food because there menu is different, The way they cook is different, There customer service is different! They just different all around. My personal opinion every Mexican place around Hell's Kitchen should look at each other & buckle up there's a new sheriff in town. Is a new place yes but I will definitely recommend to anyone. If your around the area & want a real Mexican experience nice drinks & good food. This is a must, They show other restaurants why there's LEVELS TO THIS. For dessert we had the pumpkin bread pudding with house made cinnamon ice cream. That was really good I'm not a sweet tooth guy but let me tell you the pudding was nice soft perfect texture the ice cream creamy & packed a big punch with that cinnamon flavor. They were also nice to give us a complementary house made watermelon sorbet & that was just refreshing so goood I was tempted to asked them to sell me a pint of it to take home lol. When we were about to leave Bartolo himself gave us 2 shots on the house & let me tell you that shot was so strong. That I if I was stranded in Alaska butt naked in a -30 degrees weather. I'll survive because that shot would keep me warm. Place was amazing & I will definitely be back. This was an incredible meal!! Get the cornbread, it's excellent! I had a top shelf skinny margarita (ok, maybe 2), well balanced, salt not too heavy, wonderful! Then the Branzino al Pastor. Wonderful pineapple rice, sweet potatoes, poblano sauce! And the fish was perfect! A little charred, not overdone. This place is a little out of the way, but the experience was amazing!

    Strawberry mojito

Food and drinks were great! Bartolo and Artemo were both lovely and we had a great time and great service!

From the moment you step into this vibrant and welcoming space, you know you're in for something special. This isn't just a Mexican restaurant--it's a celebration of flavour, tradition, and warmth that makes every visit unforgettable. The menu is a masterpiece. Every dish is crafted with care and authenticity. The guacamole is made fresh to order, and the chips are crisp, warm, and lightly salted--simple, but done exactly right. The cocktails deserve a review of their own. Their margaritas are next-level--whether you go classic, smoky with mezcal, or try one of their seasonal twists, they're balanced, bold, and dangerously good. The staff are knowledgeable, passionate, and genuinely want you to have a great experience. Ask them for recommendations--you won't regret it. Whether you're on a date, out with friends, or just craving incredible Mexican food, this spot nails it. A must-visit in NYC--and one you'll come back to again and again.

We were sat at the bar once and were very well taken care of by our bartender, Nikola. It was a Sunday night, so it wasn't terribly busy. It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

It somehow manages to feel both refined and relaxed at the same time. The kind of place where you half expect to spot Hemingway in the corner pretending not to eavesdrop. We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. Overall, it's a great spot if you want elevated drinks in a space that feels transportive without being pretentious. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm in the mood for a refined, slightly cinematic night out in Flatiron.

We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
