Small store which limits the selection but the service is great. I was immediately greeted and asked what I needed. They walked me over to the mailboxes and then when I let them know the size air filter I needed and he let me know right away that they did not carry that one saving me the trouble of looking for it. It's not a giant warehouse store, so if that's what you're looking for then choose another place, but if you need basic items in nearly any home category, they have a pretty good selection. I try to support the locals as much as I can; therefore, I shop at this store as often as I can versus going to the "big box" stores. They pretty much have everything, and it is easy to get help and suggestions on whatever I need. Most of the people have been working there for a while. When I get keys made -- which is a lot since I am a Realtor -- I like to browse and see what interesting things they have. I went to another of their locations as they were closing and found some great deals and had some keys made. They said they had this location as well and to stop by if i needed anything else. Well, we needed some more keys made. I looked em up and stopped in. I was greeting seconds after arriving and taken back to the key maker. He did a great job and they worked perfectly. They seem to have everything you could want and a very nice "small town" feel. Reminded me of being home. I will be back again should i need anything else! read more

I was severely disappointed with the ethics/honesty and customer service at this location. We are small business owners who have rented around 50 uhauls this year around the country. We love uhaul. We had a last minute unexpected need and called Barry's because of its proximity to one of our employee's homes - who was going to make an emergency run with the uhaul we were attempting to rent. We spoke to a man named "John" who said he was the owner of Barry's.... When we asked John if he had availability and he gave us a quote we were a little shocked. We usually pay between .39-.49/mile and his rate was higher than the published/posted .79/mile. We expressed our concern about the rates being higher than al published rates, and he got angry, He claimed the reason he wanted .99/mile (!!) was because it was a new weekend rate. When we told him that we rent in really high volume and to check our Corp account, he hung up on us. We thought it had to be a mistake, so we called back and asked. He said he did want to hang up on us. I believe he was trying to take advantage of the fact that we were a last minute reservation, and extort us for that. I believe he was embarrassed when he found out that his victim was someone that could report him to corporate. We would have paid the published .79/mile just to get it booked, and out of appreciation for the Sunday pickup. We ended up calling our uhaul Corp number and they booked our .39/mile rate. Had we not had that resource and knowledge this guy would have swindled us. It's his business ultimately, and he has every right to run it the way he wants, but poor ethics and service don't result in a well run shop. Hopefully, John was just having a bad day and he doesn't regularly treat his customers this way. read more

I made the mistake of reserving a U-haul truck through Barry's True Value. When I went to pick up the truck, I was told that they routinely overbook their trucks and that even though there was a truck in the parking lot, it was unavailable because it had already been rented. The store manager tried to put the blame on U-haul. When I asked what he would do to make it right, he said "nothing", asked me to leave and walked away and refused to speak to me. Every time I go to this store I receive excellent service. Today they went above and beyond excellent service. I went in looking for a tool to unclog my vacuum cleaner hose. They didn't have the tool so they made one on the spot and like magicians, pulled a very long scarf out of an extremely tight spot! They always provide me with the tool I want and several times have steered me away from buying something more expensive but over-kill for the project. The prices are fair and the people are helpful and friendly. What's not to like? read more

great little store and it keeps my money local. they no me by name and have been going there since the first day it opened. they have almost anything i want and they can get me what the don't have in stock within a few days. the staff are great and no everything. only one guy who know a lot but is kinda cocky and full of it, but the rest of the staff makes up for it and there still great. they have glass cutting services, uhaul rentals,water heater installation, and sell propane tanks. but i would definitely recommend this store to every one and i send a lot of business over to them read more
