I recently visited this place with friends for take out, as we were hanging out nearby. I had the crab mofongo, unfortunately there were too many shells in the dish to enjoy it. So having seen my friends with crunchy/crispy fries, I decided to go back and order just a side of fries. Waited about 45 minutes for the extra fries and was then given regular fries, not the crunchy ones. Was then told that after a certain time they no longer give you crunchy fries. This is not listed anywhere or are you made aware of the change. I proceeded to give away my fries to a friend and waited until I was home to eat. This place has potential but unfortunately I'll never get to see if it gets there as I won't be going back. By the way, a couple other friends had complaints but we did not voice it. Soooooo good!!! Hubby had a coors I had a passion fruit piragua with Don Q rum. For dinner we had alcapurrias which were really good!! Also ordered chicken pastelillos, also really good! My hubby had chicharon de pollo with rice, beans & maduro. The only thing I didnt enjoy was that the music was really loud. Way too loud for a weekday early evening date night. I meannnnnn YUMM. I stumble on this spot after having a horrible experience at a restaurant down the block. They seated us right away and we super friendly. The rest of the places on east Tremont strip might be more "vibey" for some but the food here is unmatched. Great place to take your family since no hookah. The best tasting food on this strip is right here. I'm not a mofongo person but the trifongo is so saucy and delicious. Even the vegan one is done really well. Everything on the app menu is done fresh and are large shareable portions. I've been here 3x now and each time is 100%. Tv's were off on my last visit and I asked if they can play the game. What a great addition to the neighborhood! We were in the mood for some Latin food and this hit the spot. I loved the ambiance and creative cocktails. My husband and I got different flavored piraguas and would definitely recommend the coquito one. I ordered the pernil which came out in its own little pot. Only one star off because we waited an inexplicably long time for our entrees, but the waitress was super apologetic and their great attitude made up for it. I wish I could give them 4.5 stars. I've came here for brunch on the weekends and this place be popping! The food is delicious and their pollo guisado brings me back to actually being in Puerto Rico. The DJs they bring are on point playing old school hits that get you ready to start breakdancing on the dance floor. The drinks are amazing especially their rum punch. Came here on a Saturday afternoon around the 2pm got seated rather quickly, checked temperature and asked for ID for contact COVID tracing. Got a scannable menu and waited for the server to come to the table. We ordered a beer and a rum punch. After about 30 minutes it came to the table. The tables next to us were also complaining of slow service. We watched the drinks just sit at the bar waiting for server to bring to table eventually. 15 minutes after, we got the appetizers. The rum punch was more like juice punch, I was glad I ordered a beer. The appetizers came to the table cold. The yuca fries were ok, the cod fritters were delicious (but cold) and the alcapurrias were steaming hot but no flavor. As I sit here 1:30 later , I'm still waiting on my main dish of stewed chicken and rice. The chicken stew was good, and rice and beans fared well. But definitely wasn't worth the 1:30 wait. The waitress never once came back to check on us, ask if we wanted more drinks or water. Left disappointed but will try again and update my review. read more

The food was good, I attended a family dinner party. This location is ran by a young manager who would benefit from a class on hospitality. She was very rude to us and moved our large party around. She claimed that she needed to accommodate other customers. Which I totally understand of they were actually here. She made this decision based on assumptions opposed to waiting. On top of that I witnessed her pretty much telling guests that they needed to leavw due to the 90 min time limit. I of course asked where in the restaurant or the website doesn't it indicate that. She had no response, just cause. Honestly that is not acceptable. Because of our party amount although she stated she can accommodate she did not. Leaving half our party standing up. So I'll just start off with what most people say in a five star review. The food was the bomb! Oh and the drinks were all so wonderful. The perfect combination of ingredients. We had the piña colada, Mojito and margarita. They were all made to perfection. They used quality ingredients and not too much or too little alcohol. So now that I got that out the way I want to share my experience; our experience. Our waitress Elaine and buser Peter were super excellent!
