This place was ok. Gave me a real Puerto Rico feel , good music friendly waitress, wanted to treat my fiancé to dinner so we came here BUT as we're ordering certain meals or appetizers the waitress is saying "Oh we don't have that" (oooOokay) we order somthing else, she says " oh we have that but not today" (whaaaaat!!!) I was beginning to feel like the whole right side of the menu wasn't avail. Feeling discouraged I finally found something they had (which was very tasty) finally! ..... What my honee ordered was delish as well. Overall I wasn't disappointed with the service the food was good and the place was pleasant. Just next time hope they have enough food for us. I'll return soon enough

I found this quaint little restaurant after spending an entire day at the NYBG. We had the luck of finding a metered parking spot right in front of the establishment. We were greeted upon entry and the usual covid-19 protocols were done before we were seated. They nicely spaced out each dining table with a six foot empty table that was labeled "not for use". We felt completely comfortable eating indoors. The food was amazing! I ordered alcapurrias with beef & shrimp. They were probably the best I've had in 20 years. I also ordered a shrimp pastellio which I really enjoyed. The flavors were delicious and it was made fresh. I ordered the sorullitos and I have to say that they weren't as good as my grandmothers but they sure came close! They lasted a whole 3 min on that plate, only because they were piping hot. For my main course I had the chiccharon de pollo with a side of tostones. I also ordered some yellow rice & red beans for the table. Everything was exceptional. The food was fried but it wasn't greasy. I felt like I was visiting a neighbor and they served me a plate of homemade food created with love. Needless to say that after the apps and dinner I was too stuffed for dessert. But I will definitely come back to try the flan..I saw a little girl really enjoying it and I'm dying to know if it's as good as my abuelas. This place really took me back to my roots and made me feel right at home. Best of all it's a family place, the music wasn't too loud and there wasn't a disco ball or flashing lights! They had the Yankee game playing by the bar and everyone was giving off those laid back Puerto Rican vibes.

LOVED this place! I wish I lived closer to this restaurant because I would come all the time. Prices are fair and their food is amazing. Everything had so much flavor, I could have eaten the white rice alone it was that good! We were a table of five and we were accommodated really fast considering it was a saturday night. The vibe is very chill, you can come dressed up for a date or relaxed for just a nice meal out. The music was true to Puerto Rican culture as well. They don't allow dancing u unfortunately because of the size of the restaurant but I had fun just dancing in my seat. Our order came out pretty fast although we all had pretty big meals. I had the bistec encebollado with white rice and beans. The portion size was just right for me and the flavor was alllll there. The onions were cooked perfectly and the steak was tender. My boyfriend had the chicharrón de pollo with french fries and he also loved his dish! Together we ordered the tostones. The garlic sauce that comes along side the tostones was incredible. I wanted to put it on everything. As for drinks, I had the coconut mojito and it was great as well. It wasn't too sweet and all the flavors complimented each other. I thought that the drink was going to be on the weaker side in terms of the alcohol but it was not at all. It was perfectly made in my opinion. I can't wait to come back and try some of their appetizers such as the surullos and yuca fries!

First and foremost I would like to say that this is THE BEST Boricua spot in the Bronx. Made in PR is a very close 2nd. Maria is the OG she's the best & Rosa & Ashley Are by far the friendliest servers I've ever had the privilege of being acquainted with. I threw my 30th Brunch here 5years ago and they legit held me and my 32 guests down like steel. With that being said, let's get into the details: My go to plate is the Morro, Sautéed chicken and shrimp with onions and peppers , yellow rice and red beans. So flavorful your mouth will be watering the entire time you eat it! The Picaderas for two or four are top notch. (For you Kin Spanish speaking folk, a picadera is a mixture of either all fried meats or seafood and small bites) see pics. Aka. Lowkey appetizers My 2nd favorite dish here is the Piońonos. It's fried plantains stuffed with meat if your choice with cheese on top. Come show love!

Pork chop, beef stew and mofongo was goo. Food was very good. Quick and just the right portions. But to full for dessert. I would definitely go back.

Food was on point! Almost as good as abuela used to make!! So good I came back the next day! There are a lot of Spanish options in the area but nothing comes close. Puerto Rican punch was on point. Very good and strong. With the exception of the chicken empanadas which were a little dry, they were very good. Especially the guava and cheese. Main course I had the churasco and mofongo. Mofongo was moist and the churasco was full of flavor and the chimichurri sauce was out of this world. Rice was perfectly cooked and the beans almost as good as abuela which is the highest compliment I can give!

I came here on a Tuesday night with a groupon previously purchased. Upon entering the restaurant I noticed a sign that said groupons will not be accepted without an advanced reservation, which I had no idea about. The place was pretty empty, so our waitress was kind enough to honor it, but she warned it would not be the case on the weekends. This being said, our waitress was very polite and informative. I ordered the Puerto Rican punch which was unfortunately not part of their happy hour which only includes mojitos and well drinks until 8pm, and martinis after 8pm. The drink was tasty but a little weak. The food was the best part, my plantains topped with shredded steak were juicy and flavorful. The skirt steak was also cooked and seasoned well. The ambiance is nice for both family and friend outings, with salsa music playing in the background and a few TV screens playing the baseball game. The decor could be perfected, if that's something that matters to you. Chairs were bulky and unattractive, and spacing was a bit awkward. Otherwise, I would definitely come again.

    Let's see what's good.

Stepped into this place on a last minute decisions and the first thing that grab my attention was the karaoke and the vibe was amazing. The entire place felt like I was visiting Puerto Rico for sure and the food was also great, the bar drinks were strong and tasty as well. Prices are fairly reasonable and over all appearance was very well kept. Look to come here on the next time I'm in the area with friends to have a crack at the karaoke songs lol. Well onto the photos of the food and drinks.

Food: Pernil: 10/10 flavorful and tender Yellow (arroz con gandules) and Black rice with the beans: 10/10 both were good and couldn't even decide which one was better Pulpo 9/10 : fresh and tangy, cut into small pieces so you can top it on your rice Alcapurrias: 8/10 great and made differently then what I'm used to but it was sooo good I'd come again for this alone Juices: Ask them to try the juices and they will let you. I wanted to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday on Saturday, May 16th, and after searching a few places, I settled on Sobro Garden especially after finding out it was one of Jimmy's spots. We celebrated with 30 of our closest family and friends, and it truly became a night he said he'll never forget. Where do I start? Let me begin by saying Sobro Garden, you guys did NOT disappoint!! First and foremost, thank you Jimmy, because when I tell you this man went above and beyond to make everyone feel like family at his establishment, I truly mean it. Jimmy personally checked in with everyone going table to table making sure everyone was enjoying themselves, asking if everything was good from the drinks, atmosphere, music and food was to satisfaction because he genuinely wanted everyone to enjoy and especially told my husband it's a blessing to hit a milestone, celebrating with family and friendsand hope his place made it a memorable one. He took several pictures with my husband and even accidentally walked away with his iPhone for a moment & my husband allow his too he didn't realize it was his phone until I told him. Our maître d', Suhaily, was such a beautiful soul inside and out. She made the entire booking process for my husband's event feel effortless. She guided me step by step, helped choice a menu plan, stayed in communication the whole time and was so patient, kind and welcoming the moment I arrived. Her smile and warm hearted present made the experience even better. She greeted me as if we knew each other for years and our waitress and waiter? Absolutely AMAZING. My husband, our guests and I were attended to with such PRISTINE EXCELLENCE all night long. Now let's talk about the FOOD... because BABY!!! Everything was DELICIOUS. I can't even single out one item because every dish hit the spot. Everyone at our tables ordered something different, so we all got to taste a little bit of everything from the pernil, steak & onions, grilled salmon, chicken, arroz con gandules, fried fish, steak skewers and BABY... those famous Crack Wings Rub had everybody wanting to eat their fingers To top it all off, the highlight of the night was seeing Melle Mel celebrating his birthday from the day before and actor Darrin Henson, so handsome in person was also in the building. Both were so down-to-earth and when Melle Mel grabbed the mic, he absolutely brought the house down!! Thank you again to EVERYONE at Sobro Garden for making my husband's 50th birthday celebration such an UNFORGETTABLE Experience. We will DEFINITELY be Back!

The pork was juicy (though I do wish the skin was a little crispier), the beans were flavorful, and both the garlic and chimichurri sauces were top-notch. The potato salad was okay, but overall, the meal delivered big flavor and big portions. Since it was my birthday, the team surprised me with a birthday flan and tres leches dessert plate that the restaurant provided. It was the perfect ending -- sweet, creamy, and delicious. The birthday celebration itself was incredible; you truly feel like a superstar. Between the LED signs, the DJ shoutouts, and your name flashing across the booth screen, the energy was unmatched. The chef Frances Roman also took the time to check in on each table and the people waiting outside the restaurant to see how they were enjoying the food and if they had any questions. The hospitality here is top tier! I ordered the bacalitos to start, which are cod fish fritters. They were nice and crispy. The sauce it came with really enhanced the flavor! I also ordered the guava and cheese pastelillos. Both pastelillos were also crisped to perfection. For my main dish, I had The Rican sandwich, which is a nice twist on the Cuban sandwich. The sandwich is made with pernil, Swiss, pickled onions, and the chef's own special garlic mayo sauce. It was absolutely delicious!! Cocotazo also has freshly, homemade juices.
