Went to dinner at Barndiva over Valentine's Day weekend, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip to Healdsburg. It was a cold night, but as soon as we walked in, the space felt warm, welcoming, and romantic--exactly what we were hoping for. The atmosphere was perfect: candlelit, relaxed, and intimate. Even though it was a busy weekend, the service was smooth and attentive, and we never felt rushed. Food was phenomenal (though admittedly I loved my boyfriend's dish way more, I think he had gotten the special for the night). We also ordered a bottle of local wine that completely elevated the whole meal. It was one of those bottles where every sip just worked perfectly with the food and the mood. Barndiva was the perfect spot to spend a chilly Valentine's night--amazing food, a great bottle of wine, and a space that just feels special.

We came here for dinner on a weeknight. This is a smaller menu than some other spots in Healdsburg but almost everything was great. The restaurant really is set up like an upscale barn, and the decor is amazing. We shared three starters, the goat cheese croquettes, harvest salad with oranges, and white bean hummus. The croquettes were tiny but very flavorful. They have lavender on top but it's subtle and not overpowering. I loved the salad with 3 types of citrus. The hummus was good, but needed more bread and vegetables for dipping. It wasn't anything special and I may skip it unless you really like hummus. I ordered the burger and would not recommend it. It wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't great either. The description said it had caramelized onions and cheese inside the burger, but all I tasted was the wine sauce (which was good) and meat. The cheese sprayed out when I cut into it, so even scraping it up, I didn't get a lot of flavor from it. And the bread was too hard and tough for cutting, so I didn't even eat it. It does come a la carte, so I ordered the Persian cucumber that came with it and that was amazing, highly recommend, it's a little spicy and minty, just bursting with flavor. The service was very good. My friend ordered decaf coffee and they brought out another cup free of charge for our other friend to enjoy. However, I did ask the server what to get for my entree and she steered me wrong!!

This place was delicious. At first, nothing on the menu immediately stood out, so we let our lovely server guide us and she nailed it with the jumbo asparagus, goat cheese croquettes, and house extruded bucatini pasta. The pasta was by far my favorite, especially on a hot day. The only dish we chose on our own was the tikka masala, and I would definitely recommend passing on that one. Our server was funny, friendly, and attentive. The interior was super cute too. And we can't forget the yummy cocktails, topped with the cutest little flowers.

Our first visit to Sonoma and I had to hit up all the foodie spots. After mixed reviews on Barndiva I wanted to be open minded. Based off the history this restaurant has served. My experience was fine but I can't say anything memorable about it. The food was okay, nothing to write home about. Good flavors, good quality meats but the burger was very messy to eat and the fries were not crispy. The inside is adorable and the staff is kind! I came from 4 wine tastings, so I was sad to skip a cocktail with this meal. I needed that break! I'm still happy I got to visit Barndiva. It sounds like maybe it just lost something over the years and I hope that spark comes back soon!

Went to Barndiva on the recommendation of a colleague and I'm so glad I did! The restaurant was extremely charming, from the black and white films projected on the wall by the bar to the antler chandelier in the middle of the room. My husband got a cocktail and I got a glass of wine. I did mention my severe allergies to apple and pear early on, and the server came back and told me what drinks and food to avoid, but the cocktail my husband got was not an "avoid" and it did have apple, so just double check upon receipt! I really enjoyed my glass of chilled red. The food was amazing. Everything we ate was delicious. We got the white bean hummus starter (pictured) and shared the crispy chicken and steak frites. Would highly highly recommend the chicken, the flavors were incredible. We will be back on our next visit to Healdsburg!

Came by this Michelin star restaurant in Healdsburg for brunch while spending a couple nights in Sonoma County. Barndiva is set in a barn like atmosphere, and features nightly pre fixe dinner and weekend a la carte brunch. There is both an indoor dining space as well as a beautiful courtyard in the back that is dog friendly. We made reservations the night before, for a party of two. Checking in at the restaurant was a breeze and the host escorted us to a table in the outdoor courtyard while also helping us set up a heater. The à la cart menu is geared primarily towards individual dishes, but there are a few shareable items. Several of the brunch items are also easily shareable themselves. Pastry board: great shareable, consisting of three pastries that seemed freshly made and delicious Croque Madame: beautifully presented, rich in flavor, very filling Steak frites: seasoned well, and very tasty steak. However, we ordered medium rare, and the steak was cooked with inconsistency throughout the meat with parts being more rare Barndiva farm apple pie: beautifully made small pie that's easy to share. Not overly sweet and pairs nicely with the ice cream it comes with Overall, we had a really lovely brunch experience. Other than the inconsistently cooked steak everything was fantastic. For a Michelin starred restaurant, Barndiva brunch is accessible for under $100 a person makes for a pleasant afternoon spot.

This was the first time I've been to a Michelin star restaurant and had a really good, stripped down meal without having to eat at least five courses and a wine pairing. This year, Barndiva went back to an al la carte, back to its roots style menu. And it did not disappoint. I highly recommend the steak, masala, and the trout ceviche. The trout was the most fresh I've been had. So much better than ahi tuna! The masala was a unique menu item. It wasn't very spicy, but was delicious and contrasted the other meals we had. The cocktails here are also experimental, and reminded me of high end speakeasy's. Also really dig the ambiance and service here. The walls are tall with dim lighting, and our waiter was awesome. Price point was better than I expected for a prestigious restaurant. Will definitely come back when I do wine tasting in this area again.

Monte Cristo Sandwich - quite heavy, but tasty

We had a nice time dining here for lunch... Pros- food, quite tasty. The dessert melted in my mouth and was by far my favorite bite! Mocktails were also yummy! Service was great - friendly, attentive staff. Cons- parking is tough! I drove around the blocks several times before finding a spot. If you have reservations, add in time to secure parking before your meal time! While the food was tasty, outside of the cake, there's nothing that stood out as must come back for.... It's rough, Napa Valley is rich with amazing restaurants! My Napa Valley list has over 100 spots, so while I'm happy we tried it, not sure I'd come back for a full meal. Dessert, 100%, but I'll likely pick another list spot to dine.

Decided to have brunch at Barndiva after all the rave reviews and articles saying this is a must stop Barndiva has an elegant upscale farmhouse vibe. The interior is marked by warm medium tone browns and wire sculptures decorate the walls. The see through wine walls tells you this place is serious about their vino. The has several wine choices from bubbly to red. Also their cocktail selection was inventive with lots of their own takes on classic choices. I wanted to try more than a few. We sampled the following: -Reuben Benedict -Sesame Chicken Salad -Strawberry Mimosa -Sleeping Dog (Gincentric Cocktail) -Apple Pie with Vanilla Ice cream Everything was delicious!!! The Reuben Benedict was definitely the table favorite. Very flavorful but also very balanced. The side salad provided a nice palate cleanser. Also the Sleeping Dog was also very good if you are a Gin and Tonic drinker. Service was top notch and prompt. Overall great experience! Highly recommend!

The service was great. Food was good but one was quite heavy. - Turkish bread was my favorite dish of the meal. It's made fresh and served warm. The hummus was light, velvety. - Goat cheese croquettes: the batter wasn't thick, the cheese was light. - Trout rillettes: It's very rich, the deep fried bread stick came with it made it very greasy and heavy - The roasted trout with onion sauce was very good - Chicken paillard: the chicken was thin, breaded, came with great herb-y sauce on top. It's good - My husband got a cocktail and really enjoyed it. I enjoyed the dinner and would recommend it.

Cozy little spot--nothing over the top, but it delivered exactly what we needed for a relaxed evening. The food was simple, fresh, and flavorful. Service was warm and attentive without being intrusive. A nice place to unwind and enjoy a low-key meal

    Danielle K.

Unfortunately Barndiva was a huge, expensive letdown. I've been wanting to come to this restaurant since before they received their Michelin star. Food was far under par from other Michelin restaurants I've eaten at. Our food was overpriced and underwhelming with bland and uninspired flavors. Service was also slow and inattentive. There are much better restaurants in Healdsburg to spend your time and money.

You probably can go in without a reservation, but be ready to wait or go to another restaurant. Barndiva is close to many other places. It wouldn't be a big deal to have to walk to another restaurant if they won't seat you.

Yes, excellent Gluten Free options. Especially on the brunch menu.

We knew immediately this was going to be a special night. We went all in with the chef's prix fixe menu, and it delivered from the very first bite. Warm, homemade dinner rolls -- fragrant with thyme, garlic, and chili flakes, served alongside pillowy whipped butter -- set the tone perfectly. We loved them so much we asked for a second basket without a moment's hesitation. The Sonoma County Organic Salad that followed was nothing short of a revelation: crisp Little Gem lettuce, Pioneer Micro Herbs and edible flowers, beautifully shaved vegetables, whipped fromage blanc, and a Green Goddess dressing that tied it all together with effortless elegance. Perfection is the only word for it. For our entrées, the Petrale Sole Meunière was a masterclass in refined, soulful cooking -- the Costeaux sourdough croutons, potato fondant, haricot verts, and caper beurre noisette working in perfect harmony. And the pork porchetta with nduja? Cooked flawlessly, bold, deeply satisfying, and utterly memorable. We paired the meal with the Valette Rosé of Pinot Noir, which has instantly earned a place among the finest rosés we've ever tasted -- vibrant, nuanced, and a dream with every course. Dessert brought the ItsNotA 'Snickers Bar' and the Almond Frangipane, both executed brilliantly and the ideal sweet finale to an extraordinary meal. Valette isn't just a great restaurant -- it's our new favorite dining destination, full stop. We'll be back, again and again.

From the very beginning of the meal, there was a clear sense of precision, elegance, and intention. The opening presentation was stunning, filled with an assortment of beautifully composed small bites featuring oyster, mushroom, sea bream, and a variety of other seasonal ingredients. Each bite felt delicate yet purposeful, showcasing both technical refinement and remarkable balance. One of the most memorable dishes of the evening was the bluefin tuna moriawase paired with strawberries. Normally, fruit in savory dishes tends to feel distracting or overly sweet to me, but the execution here was exceptional. The chefs managed to create a harmony between sweetness, tartness, acidity, and umami that elevated the tuna rather than overshadowing it. It was a dish that felt thoughtful, restrained, and incredibly well composed. The consistency throughout the progression of the menu was equally impressive. Course after course arrived with meticulous presentation and a strong sense of identity. Every dish felt polished and intentional, balancing visual artistry with flavors that were equally compelling. There was never a moment where the meal lost momentum, and the pacing allowed each course to feel distinct while still contributing to a cohesive experience. That said, there was one course that completely missed the mark for our group. The milk and honey dessert, which resembled a sponge cake topped with a whipped goat cheese foam, was overwhelmingly pungent and difficult to approach as a dessert course. The intensity of the goat cheese dominated every other component, to the point where it felt less like a composed dessert and more like being punched by a goat farm. Looking around the dining room, it seemed we were not alone in our reaction. Interestingly, when we mentioned that this was the only dish we did not enjoy, we were told, "if at least 1 out of 10 guests enjoy it, we consider it a win." It was certainly an unexpected response, especially given how polished and thoughtful the rest of the experience had been. Even with that misstep, the overall meal was exceptional. SingleThread succeeds in delivering a dining experience that feels elegant, immersive, and deeply personal. Between the artistry of the presentations, the balance of flavors, and the technical execution across the menu, it remains one of the most impressive three Michelin star experiences in California.

Only the bar offers à la carte. We chose the three‑course menu, and it was absolutely worth it, especially given the generous portions. Even with a reservation, we did have to wait a bit, but the team immediately rectified the situation and brought our party of six welcome cocktails, setting the tone for the excellent service all evening. DCK also offers a $30 per bottle corkage fee (max two), which I highly recommend taking advantage of (you are in wine country after all). Once we were seated, the service was excellent and genuinely attentive. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, knowledgeable, and on top of the details without hovering. The food was exceptional across the board -- beautifully prepared, balanced, and exactly what you hoped for. Dry Creek Kitchen is the kind of place that feels special but still approachable. We'd absolutely come back.
