This may just be my new favorite stop when I'm visiting the plaza. I had the fried chicken sandwich with a cobb salad. Salad was fresh and delicious, sandwich was one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. Tons of flavor, good kick without being overly spicy. So good!! Staff were friendly, attentive but not overbearing. Perfect balance of being available without hovering too much. Highly recommended. My partner and I were in Healdsburg recently and stopped by The Burrow. We felt at right at home as soon as we got there. The chicken sandwich was top tier. The bahn mi with duck was excellent. It was a nice upgrade instead of the usual chicken or pork. A family restaurant like this stands out in a town that feels crowded with upscale establishments. As longtime loyal patrons of The Wurst Restaurant we decided to give The Burrow a try. The restaurant has a vibrant and lively atmosphere, with a dog-friendly patio and plenty of space to unwind, making it an ideal spot for families and larger groups. A solid four stars. The food, the atmosphere, and the service. Everything is a solid four stars. The alfresco dining, on the patio out front, is really nice. You can bring your dog, and there's plenty of space. The food selection's pretty minimal, but it's about what you would expect for a small bistro. - Burger - A couple of salads with a protein option - Some pasta - A steak frites They have a wide selection of drinks, including for those who are looking to go past the daily pours of wines, a little bit of an ambitious tasting. Including draft beers. If I had to say there was one thing that took this place down, it's the price for the return on the meal. The price point is much greater than what you would expect for the food. However, given where we are, I guess that makes total sense. read more

Last-minute reservation for anniversary dinner. Very easy to find in Healdsburg and like all of Healdsburg Parking is questionable. Thankfully, the food made up for it. We were greeted warmly at the door and offered her choice of table since it was sort of quiet for Wednesday. This place was clean and open and they were playing my favorite playlist of 80s and 90s music so I was happy. My husband chose a Main and I opted for multiple appetizers for dinner. Sometimes life makes you decide you just want a little bit of all the good things. Duck fat Tots were SUPER crispy but pure fluff inside. Not traditional mouth feel but creamy where I expected texture. Lovely balance with the seasoning and garlic aioli drizzle. I think it wanted a tiny bit more garlic and maybe a teeny bit of acid. Wanted to eat all but stopped so I could enjoy the rest. The Grilled Asparagus was lemon forward with a KO punch in the face from red pepper flake. Thankfully, there was a little bit of goat cheese on the top that helped offset a bit. I was not at all disappointed in the food, but I was surprised at the portion of the asparagus as I figured it would be at least twice times that the serving for the price. My husband said the chicken piccata was exceptional. It was tender with garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was extremely flavorful, but not overpowering. The lemon was not as sharp as with the asparagus and was very delicate in relation to the very nicely pureed garlic mashed potatoes. My final option was an appetizer called an apricot tartine. It was more like dessert than I expected. Apricot tartine entered my top 10 ever. So damn good. The bread it was served on was seeded and presented warm, but not toasted which made it easy to eat and enjoy. It was topped with a delicious whipped ricotta and the best apricot jam/jelly I've ever eaten. I love jams and I am a huge snob, but this was out of this world. It tasted like the most perfect apricot you have ever eaten that just was picked off of a tree still warm and it almost made my mouth feel like it still had the slightest bit of fuzzy skin. There was no skin involved in this jam but it evoked perfection. It was topped with, maybe, unnecessary microgreens. By the time I finished eating the slice of bread with all of this wonderful flavor, the "green" did a nice job of balancing the perfect fruit flavor of the apricot jam. I would honestly come back here just for that. According to the server, who was wonderful, they do a brunch, which I now feel like I have to go to as soon as possible! Overall, worth it. read more

If there was integer on the rating scale, I would give this place a negative rating. We came here for late lunch on the 4th of July, and the service was HORRIBLE! Our White female server (red hair) was dismissive & didn't apologize when I POLITELY told her that our chicken wings were undercooked (see picture). My water glass was empty for a LONG time, and not only did they NOT fill it, but I had to ask the server. She still didn't fill up my glass. This place was deplorable - don't eat here!! read more

Inside, the décor strikes that rare balance of "tastefully inviting" without veering into "stock photo of a restaurant." Now, let's talk about the fries. These are not just fries. These are fries -- crispy to the point where you briefly wonder if they've achieved a new state of matter somewhere between solid and shatter. The chicken Banh Mi was excellent in every conceivable way, save for one audacious choice: the toasted roll. I'm used a softer roll is all. We chose the burrow to have dinner after a wine tasting in the area. It was very hard to choose one place to visit for dinner because there were so many nice ones in the area! When I showed my boyfriend our options, this one stood out because of the fried chicken sandwich on the menu. It did not disappoint us! It was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside with a house ranch dressing. We also ordered the crispy Brussel sprouts that had a delicious maple taste with bacon. The Brussel sprouts were crispy and soft which was the best of both worlds. I ordered the risotto verde and loved the flavors of it along with the veggies they chose to put in. I was impressed that the lemon flavor was potent throughout the dish even when I got to the bottom, the lemon flavor was consistent and refreshing, it didn't just feel squeezed on top. Before they brought us a menu for dessert, my boyfriend said if they have a cheesecake, we are getting it! They did indeed have a citrus cheesecake and we got it along with the 2 cookies. We loved the citrus cheesecake that looked like it had lemon shavings in it too. The ambiance was cute and had a homey feel to it with the fruit wall art, and the pattern chair cushions. Called in last minute for a reservation for a party of 10 and The Burrow was incredibly accommodating. From the moment we arrived, the whole experience felt welcoming and easy which isn't always the case with a group that size. Service stood out the most. It was a busy lunch rush and our server was busy working the floor, things weren't lightning fast but she handled everything with a great attitude and stayed attentive the entire time. We never felt ignored or rushed, which again, is not easy with a group that size. I had the poke bowl (fresh and flavorful) and we shared a few appetizers and bottles of wine. Everything was consistently good, and the atmosphere made it even better, super inviting with a great overall vibe. Everyone had positive feedback on their entrees and apps. Overall, 10/10. Stopped by for a burger and a beer on a recent Tuesday. Encountered very nice service staff and the order came out quickly. Too quickly? My fries looked old, too brown and room temperature. Had to re-order, which I'm often reluctant to do, but glad I did. The new fries came out so different and better. Don't let restaurants get away with serving you sub-standard stuff! We saw the reviews and were excited to eat here but the portions were the smallest I've ever gotten. 6 out of 7 in our party were still hungry at the end of the meal and when we went to order more food at 7:40pm they said the kitchen was closed. Our reservation was at 7pm so we were surprised and disappointed. I would've given it 2 stars but the server was nice and gave us some French fries for free. We got the Cobb salad and the barbecue chicken sandwich. Food was decent. Service was very good. Our waitress was friendly and warm, and so was the other staff member - a guy - who refilled our water. The soccer game was on and overall the restaurant had a really nice vibe a both inside and outside. The only thing i didn't like is that the Cobb salad had pieces of sun-dried tomato that looked very much like the bacon and was cut in the same length - easy to mistake it for bacon. We came for a late lunch. They were a little understaffed so had to wait 20 minutes or so which was totally fine. Our server was super apologetic about it and was nice and attentive. The food was delicious. I had the fried chicken sandwich with fries and my sister in law had the Cobb salad. We stopped by The Burrow for an early lunch and tried the Chicken Bahn Mi and the Citrus Salad with chicken. Both the dishes had great flavors and the fries were perfect. However, both were very light on the chicken. The sandwich had about 2oz of chicken under all the toppings and the chicken in the salad was a $8 add-on for about 3oz. Disappointing for the price. The restaurant is fairly new with nice decor and an outdoor patio. Service was prompt and friendly. read more

This is a great lunch spot if you don't want anything too heavy. Came for a late lunch and we chose to be seated outside to enjoy the beautiful day. They were very kind and accommodating and turned on the heat lamp nearby our table. We ordered the smash burger, chicken piccante and brussel sprouts and all were delicious. Pasta came out pippin hot and chicken was not dry. The smash burger was yummy and the fries were crispy. Good food and service at this Healdsburg casual restaurant. We dropped in for our first visit to the Burrow in Healdsburg. We were seated promptly in our choice of outdoor seating (indoor also available). The menu was small-ish but hit all the basics. Alcohol consisted of mainly wine and wine with a few cocktails made without spirits. We ordered the Citrus Salad and Burger and Fries. The salad was cold, crisp and flavorful with a great dressing complimenting the Cara Mia citrus. The burger consisted of two smashed-thin beef patties, lettuce, pickles, onions and an aioli plus ketchup. The burger was near perfections with all the ingredients perfectly cut and applied to the burger. The homemade pickles were a perfect foil to the richness of the rest of the burger. The fries were hot, crisp and perfectly fine. Service was prompt and friendly. We'll definitely be back to the Burrow! read more

This place is such a great addition to Healdsburg! We spent time enjoying a few drinks and appetizers on Sunday afternoon and will be back the next time we're in town. First - very welcoming and beautiful space! For kids - there's an outdoor area with toys and lower stools for kids to play and sit. Clearly a family friendly spot! For drinks - great drink list and wine list For food - the full menu looks incredible! We were just in for a couple snacks and they were delicious. We had the shishito peppers and the crisps and dip (picture is after a few bites, we couldn't wait to dig in - and there's smoked salmon under the onion dip). Major bonus - our daughter has celiac disease so we asked about bringing her next time and whether they could do anything GF or if we could bring food in for her. We spoke with the owner who was incredibly knowledgeable and kind and it turns out our server (Rosie!) also has celiac. They can make the majority of the menu gluten free (and understand celiac disease and safe preparation) and (music to all celiac ears) -- they have a dedicated GF fryer!!! And they were totally open to us bringing food for her if she needs it. Rosie shared that she eats most meals at the restaurant on days she is working as she knows they understand and take it seriously! The owner shared all items that can be made GF (including, with advanced notice, kids chicken tenders). The menu photos include marks next to everything that CAN be made GF We will be back in town in a few weeks and will be bringing the kids with us! Bad management, Yesterday on Father's Day 3 of my grown children planned a late lunch at the Burrow so my husband could have a late lunch and watch the World Cup! We arrived there promptly at 3 and was greeted by the owner or restaurant manager by telling us that the kitchen was closing at 3 and we needed to get our orders in now, Well my kids all got there and barely had time to even look at the menu! We were definitely rushed and treated very rudely! We were never told that the kitchen closed at 3 and our reservations were at 3.... I tried to act unbothered so my husband wouldn't notice my annoyance. The food was not great maybe ok.. I did have to ask 3 times for sugar for my unsweetened tea and never once was asked if I wanted a refill. Our bill was over $300 dollars for a crappy experience. The ambiance was nice and we did watch the game but the overall experience was BAD.... In the future don't let customers make 3 o'clock reservations if the kitchen closes at 3 o'clock. We could have made reservations anywhere in Healdsburg and it would have been so much better! I was born and raised in healdsburg and have seen so many restaurants come and go and definitely The Burrow will never make it. read more

Can't help but think we got catfished. After reading Yelp reviews we thought this was not your typical Healdsburg overpriced restaurant and a great place for kids. We were wrong. Not only is it overpriced but the portions are ridiculously small. If you're ordering for your kids from the kids menu the portions are for toddlers and if you're an adult just be warned you'll leave hungry. Seems intentional to be honest and it's just wrong. Nothing stood out and the food was mediocre. Wish I had better things to say about our experience but we're just left shaking our heads. read more

We are out of towners however come to town for work a few times a year. Tried this new spot and it was great. We sat outside which was a great atmosphere. The food was excellent! Devoured the hamburger, chicken sandwich, Brussels and the meatballs and burrata (definitely add the spaghetti with that). Service was excellent from the host who sat us at or table and assisted our server by refilling our drinks, clearing the table, etc. (only downfall of our server was that she was overly preoccupied with a person at the bar, but she was still very friendly). My friend and I recently stopped into The Barrow. The space is cute and inviting, and our waitress was an absolute sweetheart--warm, sincere, and attentive. The food was nothing special, and unfortunately, the owner interaction left us very disappointed. We ordered the heirloom tomato and burrata salad with chicken ($26) and the chips and dip ($14, advertised as having salmon). The salad was tasty but skimpy on chicken for the $8 upcharge. The chips and dip were the biggest letdown--salmon dip is typically pink and flavorful, but this looked and tasted like a grocery-store dip with only a few tiny flakes of salmon. When I casually mentioned this to our waitress, she apologized sincerely and offered to remove it from the bill--fantastic customer service. Unfortunately, the owner then came out and handled the situation in a way I felt was shockingly rude and unprofessional. He indignantly insisted there was "a tablespoon of salmon at the bottom" and criticized us for eating most of it. Later, when I went to ask about the bill, he brusquely brushed past me and said in a harsh, dismissive tone, "I'm only taking half off." In my opinion, had the owner been polite, I would have gladly agreed to splitting the cost. Instead, his condescending and combative behavior completely soured the experience. A charming space and wonderful waitress were overshadowed by an owner who, in my view, should not be customer-facing. read more

My girlfriends and I had a wonderful, leisurely lunch here today to round out our girls weekend in Healdsburg and it did not disappoint! We enjoyed everything start to finish, our server was so sweet and efficient. The sesame wings were our favorite item, that sauce should be bottled and sold! The Mac and cheese was delicious as was the chicken sandwich. We finished off with chocolate chip cookies and homemade ice cream. I highly recommend all of it! I had to get a refund on the Cobb Salad. Yes, you read that right. I probably wouldn't have even written a review if the manager on duty tonight would have accepted my concerns, without trying to discount them. The egg was soft boiled. Nowhere on the menu does it say that (at least on toast tab). The manager wanted to know where I saw a pic of the salad. I told him Yelp. He pulled it up and ZOOMED in. Ok, you can see underneath what looked like hard boiled that it was soft. He claims that's how they should be for Cobb salads. Uhm sir, this isn't my first Cobb salad. How about you just put that in the description? Problem solved. The grilled chicken that was an extra charge ($8) was rubbery. My guess is it was already cooked and they threw it in the microwave. Plus, they just gave me what appeared to be 1/2 a chicken breast without cutting it to put on the salad. Who does that??? No slice, no dice, just 1/2 a breast. I'm done paying premium price for trash. The chicken sandwich was good. But the hubs (who's a chef) said it appeared the oil needed to be changed. Other than that, no complaints. Won't be going back though based on the attitude. I took my business somewhere else, because I had to eat. Plenty of competition in that little square. read more
