Parmesan Onion Biscuit, Chocolate Croissant, Fruit and Marzipan Scone, and Salted Egg Morning Bun
    Kyra K.

This is a delayed review for Quail and Condor due to a pause. Some friends recommended Quail and Condor. The baked goods were phenomenal, and we can see why this is a popular spot! Being a well-known bakery in the area, my companion chose to pre-order our items. When we arrived, the pickup was easy, and we enjoyed our treats outside with the pup. The bakery is cute, charming, open, and airy. The staff who helped us were great. There are some tables inside for working, as well as benches outside. All items are on display for easy viewing. Companion bought us the Parmesan Onion Biscuit, Chocolate Croissant, Fruit and Marzipan Scone, and Salted Egg Morning Bun. I'd say everything was delicious. My favorite was the morning bun. The texture, taste, and portion size were all there. Everything was buttery and flaky, and the fillings weren't skimped. I can understand why this is a go-to spot for baked goods! There are a variety of bakeries in the area, but Quail and Condor seem to be beloved by locals and visitors alike. Find them off Mill Street in a little complex with free parking. Great spot to grab and go or to sit and snack!

I see a lot of post and news about this place so I went and tried it and I don't know what the hype is because everything I ordered tasted pretty regular to me and I didn't taste anything extra spectacular! The crossaint was okay, it was kind of dry tasted bland. Sconce was alright. The people are friendly and the place was light and airy.

Kouign-amann. Flakey with an excellent caramel crust

Quail And Condor. Consistent and Quality! An excellent bakery on the drive up to the 101. Never had a bad pastry here. My favorites are the Kouign Amann which has an excellent flake and caramel flavor and the chocolate croissant which uses high quality dandelion chocolate. Tried the "twice baked" croissant today. Was excellent, with a super buttery and flakey croissant with a nice creamy gruyere spinach filling. The bread is also fantastic. Has a nice seating area with plenty of seats. Overall: 4.8/5

Quail & Condor is a culinary masterpiece that transcends mere hype! This bakery is the ultimate pilgrimage destination, worth every mile of a two-hour journey to Healdsburg, California. Each freshly baked good is a symphony of flavors, and the capuchino is a flawless masterpiece in a cup. The service is impeccable, and the bakery's cleanliness is a testament to their dedication to excellence. The Kouign Amann and croissants are nothing short of perfection, a testament to the artistry of baking. I am in awe of your craft and deeply appreciate the passion poured into every creation! https://www.sonomamag.com/quail-condor-named-among-best-bakeries-in-the-us-by-the-new-york-times/ I'm definitely going back to this bakery. Highly recommend you give it a try.

4.5 stars Their pastries are amazing! Came around 10a on a Saturday and the line was out the door. The cafe itself was quite full as well with all the seats already filled. Very casual but elegant establishment. Got 3 pastries to go: ham and cheese croissant, biscuit (with red miso, carmelized onions and Parmesan) and one of their twice baked croissants (pineapple and basque cheesecake). The biscuit was my favorite - soft on the inside yet had a decent crunch on the outside. The ham and cheese croissant had a nice ratio of Gruyère cheese and ham) and the twice baked croissant was unique, delicious, and not too sweet. Also had their seasonal cranberry orange espresso tonic that was really refreshing. Will definitely return to bring some treats back on the way home!

NEW LOCATION!!! 44 Mill Street. Just around the corner from their old location but with a big parking lot and lots of indoor seating. The new space is still lacking personality and needs some art on the walls or something, but I'm so glad we can now get our food here and eat indoors! The options for pastries are basically the same but they seem to have a few more cooked options like a Turkish Breakfast and Baked eggs. I don't recall that on the menu before. This morning, I tried their Onion Parmesan biscuit. It was delicious! I have to admit that I was disappointed they had sold out of their Lox Toast this morning, but it's just too popular! The Pumpkin Passionfruit cake was delightfully light and moist, although the passionfruit seeds on top burst in a way that I wasn't thrilled by. The Kouinn Amman is always the best one you can find. The server this morning was so great! He was funny and super helpful. I really enjoy talking with him!

Finally tried Quail and Condor, and it didn't disappoint! We went on a Monday morning and the line was already at the door. Service was friend and fast. Our favorite pastry was the marzipan and blueberry scone. I've never had anything like it! Loved the biscuit too, it was flaky on the inside and crisp on the outside. I love a good chocolate chip cookie and it didn't disappoint. For breakfast we had the avocado toast. I thought it was okay. The bread was really good, but the avocado was just plain. There is chili oil on top, but I prefer more on it. The baked eggs were good! Tasted delicious on a piece of bread.

    Feta, Tzatziki & Tomato Danish

I've been wanting to visit Quail & Condor for what feels like forever, and I finally made it this past weekend! I'd heard so much about their legendary pastries, especially after it was named one of the 22 best bakeries in the U.S. by The New York Times last year. We got there early enough so that we were not disappointed with items selling out. While the line was fairly long as we anticipated, it moved surprisingly quickly, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. It was hard to make a selection from all the decadent options, but everything we selected was simply exquisite. The Parmesan & Onion Biscuit was a rich, buttery, and flaky delight. The Feta, Tomato, and Tzatziki pastry was a refreshing and unique twist on a classic Mediterranean flavor. The Ham and Cheese Croissant had a delightful light and flaky exterior, complemented by a rich and salty interior filling. On the sweet side, the Marzipan and Huckleberry scone was a resounding hit. The stacked scone provided ample space for generous amounts of jam and marzipan filling, which shone through. The Fig Jam, Rosemary & Creme Brulée Danish is an interesting twist of flavors & not overly sweet. I would definitely return to Quail & Condor and indulge in some of their breads and the salmon toast, which looked absolutely mouthwatering!

After watching the owner of this shop compete on a Food Network TV show, I knew I had to make a trip to her bakery! The line was surprisingly short for a Saturday around 10am. I ordered a variety of pastries and a loaf of the olive bread. My favorite pastry was probably the cheddar and chive biscuit - it had a delicious, crispy exterior while the interior remained soft and moist. A close second was the ham and cheese croissant - buttery flaky goodness! The sweet pastries/desserts I also bought included the kouign Amman and oatmeal crème cookies.

My favorite pastry shop in Sonoma! There's usually a line out the door on weekends so I like to order ahead and pick up at the window. Not everything is available as preorder though. Their laminated pastries are fantastic! Really enjoy the creativity of some of their pastries! The creme brûlée danish, and the squash blossom potato danish have been some of our favorites! Of note, the prices here are not cheap... most of their pastries are more expensive than some of my fav SF shops. The parking lot is super small and narrow, so often parking on the street is easiest!

    Ricotta and Apricot jam toast
    Megan S.

Almost all of the baked goods were gone by the time we arrived. I ended up having the ricotta and apricot jam toast and it was delicious! The ricotta was whipped to perfection. My friends enjoyed the avocado toast as well as the Turkish breakfast.

    Manny G.

The line is long for a reason. They bake select items and they do it well. Some bakeries try to do too much not this place. it is like a boutique bakery. Great staff, Great Coffee and delicious sweety and savory treats for the road. Parking is a challenge.

So... my husband and I both have lived in SF and had their pastries, gone to Paris to have their pastries, and we want to say..... Quail and Condor is the best we've ever had. Period..!!! Quiche-- it was jiggly!! Like when you moved the plate, the thing jiggled!! I hate when quiches are too eggy like they have a scrambled egg texture, or when they're too creamy and feels like you're eating just cream. This one was PERFECTly in the middle. Super well done, flaky crust, and great flavors. Pistachio Knot-- so good. Had light pistachio flavors and there was a good amount of crispy textures as well as moist and buttery bread that pulled apart beautifully Onion and Parm Biscuit-- also incredible. Had crispy on the outside, deep onion flavor, and inside the bread was perfect. Not too crumbly but not dry at all. Just overall amazing.

We knew immediately this was going to be a special night. We went all in with the chef's prix fixe menu, and it delivered from the very first bite. Warm, homemade dinner rolls -- fragrant with thyme, garlic, and chili flakes, served alongside pillowy whipped butter -- set the tone perfectly. We loved them so much we asked for a second basket without a moment's hesitation. The Sonoma County Organic Salad that followed was nothing short of a revelation: crisp Little Gem lettuce, Pioneer Micro Herbs and edible flowers, beautifully shaved vegetables, whipped fromage blanc, and a Green Goddess dressing that tied it all together with effortless elegance. Perfection is the only word for it. For our entrées, the Petrale Sole Meunière was a masterclass in refined, soulful cooking -- the Costeaux sourdough croutons, potato fondant, haricot verts, and caper beurre noisette working in perfect harmony. And the pork porchetta with nduja? Cooked flawlessly, bold, deeply satisfying, and utterly memorable. We paired the meal with the Valette Rosé of Pinot Noir, which has instantly earned a place among the finest rosés we've ever tasted -- vibrant, nuanced, and a dream with every course. Dessert brought the ItsNotA 'Snickers Bar' and the Almond Frangipane, both executed brilliantly and the ideal sweet finale to an extraordinary meal. Valette isn't just a great restaurant -- it's our new favorite dining destination, full stop. We'll be back, again and again.

From the moment we sat down at the best seats in the house, the personal touches were everywhere--even the menu was personalized with the birthday girl's name. The service was impeccable. Our server, Jacob, was a delight; his deep knowledge of the menu helped us navigate our choices, and his expertise in decanting our 2006 Hewitt Cabernet was much appreciated. We started with the only French Champagne offered by the glass, which paired beautifully with the Tsar Nicoulai Osetra Caviar. While the bowl's design made the caviar slightly hard to reach, the flavors were so stunning we found ourselves pining for more. For entrees, the Liberty Farms Duck Breast was a standout--perfectly medium-rare and easily some of the best duck I've ever had. The Prime New York Strip was equally impressive; the meat was so flavorful on its own that the side of sauce Raifort wasn't even necessary. We finished with two delicate cakes and a lovely visit from the owner, who shared some of the restaurant's multi-generational history. We left feeling truly special.
