The owners also started Quail and Condor so you can have some of their baked goods at this establishment as well. We had the turkey pesto sandwich and the chicken salad sandwich, which were both amazing! You could taste the fresh ingredients for both sandwiches. The chicken sandwich was perfectly seasoned with the sesame salt really adding that extra oomph. The lemon jus in the turkey pesto made it super addicting with its bright flavor. If they only sold their pesto and chicken salad on its own I would buy tubfuls to bring home and savor. Alas, maybe in the future. We came here at 11a on Monday and got our sandwiches quickly after we ordered. A little pricey for sandwiches ($20 each) but it's downtown Healdsburg so not unexpected. In town and stopped here with friends for some wine before lunch. If we didn't already have lunch reservations, I would have loved to eat here. You walk in and you can see the fresh bread they bake there. They have a good assortment of ready made sandwiches and others. In the evening they turn into an upscale bistro. They have a menu with items like caviar and steak tartare. The employee that we ordered from was friendly and answered my questions about the wines they had. Hours of food poisoning from a $20 ham and brie sandwich. Not sure if the sandwich had been sitting out for too many hours on the counter or if someone didn't wash their hands before handling the food (cashier perhaps?) It was odd to see the cashier cutting the sandwiches with bare hands in between handling money and register. She also threw the sandwich at me when I didn't leave a tip. It's a premade sandwich that I ordered to-go, stop asking me to tip 25% on this type of transaction. The sandwich tasted fine except that some pieces of brie in the sandwich were just pieces of rind, and for the price that is unacceptable. I am still dreaming of the impeccable clafoutis, those canapés bursting with umami, that caviar in that delicious cauliflower foam, the escargot laced with butter with that carrot puree that is absolute perfection, the journey of flavors that was the chocolate spread. And the next morning - those incredible sandwiches! Who knew carrots could taste like this? This was legitimately one of the top three meals I've ever had in my life. We went for dinner on a Sunday around 7:45pm and there were only three other parties there. It's a tiny place - a sandwich shop by day and a Michelin recommended dinner spot at night. They have a prix fixe tasting menu (or a la carte option) but I highly recommend the prix fixe. They started with a lovely broth and then went into several canapés. I can't stop thinking about the rye and lardo one! We added the caviar and it was delightful in a cauliflower foamy soup. The escargot was fantastic (not in the shell) and the tartare was amazing. Honestly the brioche baguette that came with the escargot was one of the best things - it's salty and buttery and perfect for dipping into the sauces. We got both the trout and the duck. Holy moly the duck was out of this world. It's a special duck (orvia) and the skin was perfectly crispy and had a nice bite of fat but not too much. It came with a brown sauce that you could dip the homemade sourdough in. The stuffed morel was incredible. Everything came in cute little dishes and was beautifully plated. The Riesling was a nice accompaniment. They also give a variety of sweets to end the meal. Every bite of this meal blew me away. Service was professional but not overly chatty or friendly. The food was very good and some of it was excellent. The highlight was actually a little cheese pouf canapé. It was so tasty. But, the portions were also quite small. No one would call me a big Easter, and I needed a snack after dinner. We also did the wine pairing for $125. The wines were good and paired well with the food, but they were mostly low ticket bottles like a Sancerre and a Grüner Veltliner. The profit margins on the flight were insane. The restaurant is quite fun as they seem to experiment a lot including a very unique herbal fruit tea with kombu that they provide during dessert. C'est si Bon!!! My review is related to Le Diner; Love this intimate experience! My party of 4 had the pleasure of dining on a rainy evening but it certainly did not dampen the experience. The staff are lovely and the food is on point. Our server recommended we order one of each of the items on the tasting menu and we are so glad we followed his recommendation; it was such a fun experience to try it all. The stars in my book were the beef tartare, roasted cauliflower with caviar and the amazing fish dish. The fish dish in particular brought back memories of a lunch I had in the town of Reims; it brought me right back to that experience. Troubadour is right by downtown Healdsburg, and I've had them on my list to check out their sandwiches for a while. They are now also open for dinner, and have a separate dinner menu. There were still a good amount of customers dining in at 2:30pm on a Saturday, but there was no line at the time, and I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. They were already sold out of the Ham & Butter Baguette, but the rest of the sandwiches were still available. On our recent trip to Healdsburg I found this gem that is opened by the same owners of Quail and Condor (my favorite bakery in Healdsburg!). They sell a limited selection of sweet baked goods (cookie, cannelle, etc.) but have a good selection of bread loaves (same as what they sell at Quail and Condor I believe) and sandwiches. We got the yecora rojo and super seed breads as well as the jambon baguette and chicken salad sandwich. All were delicious! Staff were also really nice and made sure the breads were sliced for us and provided great recommendations on what their popular items are. This review is for the chefs tasting menu dinner service. The hubby and I came here to celebrate a special occasion. At first he was skeptical because this is a sandwich place during the daytime, but don't let that fool you - the dinner is phenomenal! The team are Single Thread alums and it shows. Each dish is prepared with attention to detail in flavor and presentation. Usually they weave in an element of bread to each dish, so it's best if you like carbs like me! The place itself is charming, with just a handful of tables and food served on vintage plates you'd find in grandmas cupboard. The menu consisted of a number of small bites (veggies are from single thread garden). We had: - croque monsieur with a savory tea - herb salad - tuna tartare - lobster bisque - mini epi bread - halibut - meringue for dessert We left pleased with the experience and would definitely come back. The one thing to mention is that if you're a big eater you may still be hungry afterward as the portions aren't huge, but they are decadent so you're definitely getting plenty of calories.
