    French Toast

This spot had been recommended by others so I thought I would try it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tucked away behind route 12 in Santa Rosa, this quaint spot offers your usual breakfast fare as well as a few lunch items.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated outdoors - the place closes at 1:30 and we got there around 12:50 - indoor tables full. The patio is shaded and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was prompt and courteous. The food arrived quickly. I had Joe's Special - a more unique scramble of eggs, ground beef, spinach and mushrooms with Asiago cheese and hash browns. The flavors were very well combined and everything tasted good. My son had the French Toast which came with 2 eggs and sausage as well: that's good was very good, but I continue to be disappointed in brunch spots that do not serve pure maple syrup - instead using your usual knock off breakfast syrup. It is a game changer for me and the food as a result suffers. No bubbles here with your breakfast, to be noted, if you like that with your brunch... but that is ok. All in all, good food, quick service, usual pricing (we paid $40 or so for our meals).

Cute little restaurant in Santa Rosa tucked behind a hotel. Closes at 2 pm. Breakfast and lunch menu items. We were immediately seated and greated by the friendly staff. We tried the roasted turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries. The turkey was topped with avocado and a bacon sweet onion marmalade which was very tasty. We added a side salad with a delicious Bleu cheese dressing. Everything was delicious and fresh. Loved this spot.

I was in town visiting my dad and he brought me here for brunch. I really enjoyed this little spot! The service was great and the food was good. I ordered the chilaquiles and it was sooo good! The chips are made to order and cooked in the sauce just perfect enough that they were too crispy or too soggy. I wasn't a huge fan of how the black beans were seasoned, but that's my preference. Their espresso drinks were good and presented well. I will definitely visit this place again next time I visit.

SEP2025 [[HIGHLIGHT]]Came by on a beautiful day on the weekend so things were pretty busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was in the area of some errands so we settled down for here. The parking lot is shared with the hotel as well so we were lucky we had gotten there between groups and someone left right when we pulled up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had the fur baby with us too so we had a nice table outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The server answered any questions, and checked on us frequently despite how busy it was. My partner decided on the duck hash, and I had gotten the tofu scramble with a biscuit and gravy side. The food was cooked well. I liked the mix of ingredients for the scramble with a good amount of veggies also. The eggs for the hash were poached nicely, though the duck I wanted a bit more. Aside from a bit of salt needed, everything was easy to eat. Solid option in the area for brunch,

I ordered the duck Hash and I could taste all the fresh ingredients in it. It was really nice. Could use a little more salt. My friend had the rancheros and he liked them once again you could taste the freshness of the ingredients.

Wow am I glad I found this hole in the wall Resturant while searching for something new on Yelp. It's our new favorite breakfast spot for sure. It is small so be prepared to wait to get a table but it is worth it and they are so fast with the food people are in and out. I loved the French toast!

You're trying different places for breakfast and randomly cried. This just hillside Cafe out. Had a little late but not too bad cuz it's very popular with locals. Once we got in service was great. Food was wonderful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A bubbling happy local place for good breakfast.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Like another reviewer mentioned, it's kinda hard to find as it's connected to the inn. But it was fine, and parking was easy. I was a little iffy about the service upon entering bc no one acknowledged us for a few min. Just looked at us and continued on. Contemplated leaving for some place else at this point. Eventually we got seated in a little booth. Our server was really friendly. We ordered: Eggs Benedict w/ country potatoes Chicken Fried Steak w/ over-medium eggs sourdough toast, & hash browns Coffee The eggs benny was really good but the hollandaise was extremely rich and heavy. Maybe could have used more seasoning as well. But the eggs were nicely poached and the country potatoes were the some of the best I've had. They were crispy, seasoned nicely, and had bell peppers and onions mixed in. I also loved the Chili Gods hot sauce that was at the table. It had such a cute label with a pepper sticking its tongue out lol. The chicken fried steak was really good and filling too. A heavy meal, but we knew what we were getting ourselves into haha. My partner enjoyed the coffee although he thought the mug it was served in was really small. You need a key to use the restrooms that are right outside the entrance. Overall, a cozy experience for breakfast with great diner food!

I've been working on trying different restaurants this 2025. This restaurant is a little hidden. But it is so worth finding. The service here is absolutely exceptional. We got there around 12:30 today and we were worried that they were going to cut our service or we were gonna get bad service since it was an hour before closing time. We were completely wrong, our server was so great . She constantly came to check on us and told us if everything was fine. She came to refill our water. Even though at this point, it was already closer to 1 PM. The French toast was literally Chef kiss. It was super delicious. I normally never can finish a French toast plate by myself, but this one I was able to devour. The country style steak was also good and very flavorful, but I preferred definitely the French toast . This spot is packed. There were people waiting outside as we were leaving and you can honestly tell why the minute you sit down and have breakfast here. 10/10!

This place is very popular on Sundays for breakfast/brunch so plan accordingly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff is friendly and the inside is inviting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu has a variety of items to choose from and the portions are fairly large so bring your appetite. Will definitely come back to explore and try more of the menu.

We had such a wonderful experience at Jeffery's Hillside Café! The food was incredibly fresh and truly tasted homemade. The Brussels sprouts hash was absolutely delicious with such unique and flavorful touches -- you can tell a lot of care goes into every dish. The omelette was also excellent, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Everything was great from start to finish, and the service was warm and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back

Stopped by based on prior Yelp reviews, my experience was not as favorable. Service was good, food was mediocre. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also found noise level high.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had a special with smoked chicken and squash. I found the smoked chicken a little artificial tasting and chewy. My husband's potatoes were cold. English muffins were a little over toasted.

My girlfriend and I go here every time I'm in Santa Rosa and let me tell you it never disappoints. There's normally a line out the door on weekends but it goes pretty fast. We haven't waited more than 20 minutes. Everyone inside is very nice and welcoming when you walk in and although there's a lot going on, the people working there always take the time to say hi and get your name down on the list. As for the food, I always want to try something new, but I just can't. The brussel sprout hash is so good that I am constantly thinking about it and have to order it every single time. I recommend getting it with poached eggs and hash browns. There is a great variety of texture and flavors that makes this dish my favorites. Definitely recommend trying it out!

    Do they have beer?

    No alcohol

    Are there gluten-free options?

It's been a while since I was there so I don't remember but it's best for something like that to call ahead and ask them.

I love this place but have had a very difficult time getting someone to answer the phone. I'm wondering if the number has changed. What's the correct phone number to call?

Monique, Our direct line is (707) 546-6317. We are so sorry if you've had trouble getting through. We are short-staffed and are not always able to get to a phone in time.

What time do they stop serving breakfast/brunch?

The day (weekday) we were there i think it was until 2; but I also heard someone say "all open hours" on the weekend. My recollection is they close at 3. Best bet, especially these Covid Days, is to phone them directly.

    Is the patio dog-friendly?

Yes. I have brought my Labrador retrievers several times.

Overall smooth but not too strong, and a tiny bit sweet probably from whatever almond milk they use! I like mine a bit stronger and it's not the best I've had but decent! "For here" mugs are always a plus in my book too. Brew is unique that it doubles as a cozy bar too once the late afternoon rolls around. They've got interesting events happening throughout the month posted on their sign. Some of their food and pastries are sourced from local Red Bird Bakery and Village Bakery too if you're hungry! Parking might suck, you could find street parking maybe on 8th St or if you're early you could park by the meters for free before 9AM. There's a $1/hr parking garage right nearby but if there's nothing, best to park at SR Plaza for free and make the 5min walk over. My other favorite food item is not on their regular menu anymore, but I LOVE when they do their baked oatmeal. Their coffee is great here, which is from Ritual Roaster in San Francisco. If you come here in the Fall, their seasonal Pumpkin Latte is my favorite Pumpkin Spice latte in the area. So good!
