I can see why Jeffrey's is considered one of the best breakfast in Santa Rosa, and has been for years. With all of the options around it is sometimes hard to pick a place to go on a Saturday morning. Jeffrey's is a charming, family friendly establishment that is attached to a small inn off Highway 12. Other inside is pretty small, but they do have some outdoor tables. The interior has some lovely art on the walls as well as positive phrases making you feel like you're home. The service is also great here, and I feel like I've seen the same folks working here for many years. My wife and I ordered two different Hashes to share. The Brussel Sprouts and Bacon Hash is fantastic, which has this blue cheese aioli that gives the dish so much flavor. The Brussel sprouts seem like they're steamed and then tossed in the hash with sautéed diced onions, bell peppers and bacon. The aioli is on the side, but just adding a little bit to each bite gives it so much extra. We also ordered the special of the day which was a Smoked Chicken and Butternut Squash Hash. It has some of the same elements of sautéed onions and bell peppers, but this was served with a cilantro aioli. This dish, while not as amazing at the other Hash, was still really good. My daughter ordered the Buttermilk pancakes (added blueberries to them) with sausage and eggs. She certainly enjoyed them! read more

Cute little restaurant tucked inside the Hillside Inn. It's a popular, bustling little café with a great breakfast menu and a nice, cozy feel. My mom had the quiche of the day with fresh strawberries and blueberries, and I had the biscuits and gravy with eggs over easy, along with two cups of their house coffee. Both dishes were flavorful and we enjoyed our breakfast. My only real complaint was that the biscuits were pretty dry, but a little extra gravy definitely helped. Our waiter was kind and efficient, and the rest of the staff was friendly as well. Overall, a good breakfast experience with friendly service. I'd give it about 3.5 stars and would be willing to come back and try something else on the menu. read more

Honest review: The staff was great. Super friendly and helpful. In the end they made things right by me without me asking for any discounts or expectation. A++ for service! Food: Needs work. Ordered the Eggs Benedict. The poached eggs were on point. Absolutely perfect. The champagne hollandaise was a fun twist but couldn't save the meal. The English muffin might have been hard track. It was paper thin and I had to saw through it. Ham had no flavor at all. I don't think it was ham. Maybe thin sliced and unseasoned pork but not ham. Worst part was the county potatoes. They came out slightly above room temperature and hard. They're parboiled then flash fried. Not a bad way to get crisp but I can only assume they do this ahead of the rush and then they sit in a container to be served. My wife ordered her's extra crispy and they come out much better. Coffee smelled and tasted like an ashtray. Overall, I wanted to like this place and the service itself is amazing, but the back of the house needs some work. read more

This spot had been recommended by others so I thought I would try it. Tucked away behind route 12 in Santa Rosa, this quaint spot offers your usual breakfast fare as well as a few lunch items. We were seated outdoors - the place closes at 1:30 and we got there around 12:50 - indoor tables full. The patio is shaded and comfortable. Service was prompt and courteous. The food arrived quickly. I had Joe's Special - a more unique scramble of eggs, ground beef, spinach and mushrooms with Asiago cheese and hash browns. The flavors were very well combined and everything tasted good. My son had the French Toast which came with 2 eggs and sausage as well: that's good was very good, but I continue to be disappointed in brunch spots that do not serve pure maple syrup - instead using your usual knock off breakfast syrup. It is a game changer for me and the food as a result suffers. No bubbles here with your breakfast, to be noted, if you like that with your brunch... but that is ok. All in all, good food, quick service, usual pricing (we paid $40 or so for our meals). read more

We had a wonderful breakfast at Jeffreys Hillside Cafe. Service was great. Staff were friendly! Food was very good!

Cute little restaurant in Santa Rosa tucked behind a hotel. Closes at 2 pm. Breakfast and lunch menu items. We were immediately seated and greated by the friendly staff. We tried the roasted turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries. The turkey was topped with avocado and a bacon sweet onion marmalade which was very tasty. We added a side salad with a delicious Bleu cheese dressing. Everything was delicious and fresh. Loved this spot. read more

And again...another delicious experience at Jeffrey's. I rarely ever go out to breakfast, usually preferring coffee only to sustain till late morning! Place was SO PACKED for just a Monday morning at 9:30am. I ordered off the "specials" menu, a recommendation from our server. Smoked chicken and butternut squash hash with poached eggs and a homemade biscuit. From bite one, I'm glad I listened. I could've used another bowl of the jalepeno "sauce" as it added a delicious freshness to my meal. All components paired well and it provided the savoriness I prefer. FOR ME, the prices are high but mostly because I'm just not a big breakfast girl. That said, portions are generous and it's been delicious each visit so it definitely deserves its praise. read more

I was in town visiting my dad and he brought me here for brunch. I really enjoyed this little spot! The service was great and the food was good. I ordered the chilaquiles and it was sooo good! The chips are made to order and cooked in the sauce just perfect enough that they were too crispy or too soggy. I wasn't a huge fan of how the black beans were seasoned, but that's my preference. Their espresso drinks were good and presented well. I will definitely visit this place again next time I visit. read more

SEP2025 Came by on a beautiful day on the weekend so things were pretty busy. It was in the area of some errands so we settled down for here. The parking lot is shared with the hotel as well so we were lucky we had gotten there between groups and someone left right when we pulled up. We had the fur baby with us too so we had a nice table outside. The server answered any questions, and checked on us frequently despite how busy it was. My partner decided on the duck hash, and I had gotten the tofu scramble with a biscuit and gravy side. The food was cooked well. I liked the mix of ingredients for the scramble with a good amount of veggies also. The eggs for the hash were poached nicely, though the duck I wanted a bit more. Aside from a bit of salt needed, everything was easy to eat. Solid option in the area for brunch, read more

I love this place for breakfast and lunch. Great coffee and food. ADA parking is perfect. Love their salads and burgers.

Like another reviewer mentioned, it's kinda hard to find as it's connected to the inn. But it was fine, and parking was easy. I was a little iffy about the service upon entering bc no one acknowledged us for a few min. Just looked at us and continued on. Contemplated leaving for some place else at this point. Eventually we got seated in a little booth. Our server was really friendly. We ordered: Eggs Benedict w/ country potatoes Chicken Fried Steak w/ over-medium eggs sourdough toast, & hash browns Coffee The eggs benny was really good but the hollandaise was extremely rich and heavy. Maybe could have used more seasoning as well. But the eggs were nicely poached and the country potatoes were the some of the best I've had. They were crispy, seasoned nicely, and had bell peppers and onions mixed in. I also loved the Chili Gods hot sauce that was at the table. It had such a cute label with a pepper sticking its tongue out lol. The chicken fried steak was really good and filling too. A heavy meal, but we knew what we were getting ourselves into haha. My partner enjoyed the coffee although he thought the mug it was served in was really small. You need a key to use the restrooms that are right outside the entrance. Overall, a cozy experience for breakfast with great diner food! read more

Wow am I glad I found this hole in the wall Resturant while searching for something new on Yelp. It's our new favorite breakfast spot for sure. I've been working on trying different restaurants this 2025. This restaurant is a little hidden. But it is so worth finding. The service here is absolutely exceptional. We got there around 12:30 today and we were worried that they were going to cut our service or we were gonna get bad service since it was an hour before closing time. We were completely wrong, our server was so great . She constantly came to check on us and told us if everything was fine. She came to refill our water. Even though at this point, it was already closer to 1 PM. The French toast was literally Chef kiss. It was super delicious. I normally never can finish a French toast plate by myself, but this one I was able to devour. The country style steak was also good and very flavorful, but I preferred definitely the French toast . This spot is packed. There were people waiting outside as we were leaving and you can honestly tell why the minute you sit down and have breakfast here. 10/10! read more

We had such a wonderful experience at Jeffery's Hillside Café! The food was incredibly fresh and truly tasted homemade. The Brussels sprouts hash was absolutely delicious with such unique and flavorful touches -- you can tell a lot of care goes into every dish. The omelette was also excellent, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Everything was great from start to finish, and the service was warm and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back read more

Great place to enjoy a delicious breakfast. Always busy, there maybe a 10 to 20 minute wait time during the weekends. Well worth it, delicious food and great customer service. read more

Bummed! We used to enjoy this place but it has changed. Today we were overcharged for a mocha for $9 each, wow! And then charged $10 extra for the veggie substitutions on my plate without warning. The waiter Miguel was moving way too fast and didn't tell us that substituting spinach and mushrooms for the peppers and onions would cost an extra $7.25. Why not inform us first? Then charged an extra $1.50 for a side of aioli that was rotten and spoiled and inedible. Yucky and disappointing! We work in the hospitality industry and we know that it's customary to always let your customers know BEFORE they make substitutions like this it will cost extra. But in what world does a veggie substitution cost you $7.25? It doesn't require you to. Plus an extra $1 for gluten free bread without letting us know first. Also, the biscuits were not good, they had no meat or sausage in the gravy and the biscuits were sweet as if made with pancake batter instead of biscuit batter. What happened here? This place has gone down hill and we won't be returning after being loyal to this place for years. I believe that integrity and communication are keys to successful trustworthy businesses....so where has the integrity and "local" vibe gone here? read more

Stopped by based on prior Yelp reviews, my experience was not as favorable. Service was good, food was mediocre. I also found noise level high. I had a special with smoked chicken and squash. My girlfriend and I go here every time I'm in Santa Rosa and let me tell you it never disappoints. There's normally a line out the door on weekends but it goes pretty fast. We haven't waited more than 20 minutes. Everyone inside is very nice and welcoming when you walk in and although there's a lot going on, the people working there always take the time to say hi and get your name down on the list. As for the food, I always want to try something new, but I just can't. The brussel sprout hash is so good that I am constantly thinking about it and have to order it every single time. I recommend getting it with poached eggs and hash browns. There is a great variety of texture and flavors that makes this dish my favorites. Definitely recommend trying it out! read more

The food is absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend it. The smoked salmon is one of the best things on the menu.

This cafe is located at the hillside inn and has good parking for visitors. Read reviews on this place so i thought i would try it out. Inside the place is like a nice old cafe vibe which I definitely like. Read that portions were big which was not the case for my visit. Service was welcoming and the food from the kitchen came out fast. I ordered the French toast meal. The eggs and bacon were good but the French toast way tiny. Looked like tiny wonder bread pieces. Definitely not a French toast to rave about. Overall a good experience i just wouldn't recommend the French toast read more

I wanted something healthy after a weekend of indulgence! The menu looked delicious. At 12:30pm on a Sunday, they had a few tables available. The motel they share the property with, looks a bit concerning..lol...but the reviews for Jeffrey's Cafe enticed me to visit. We ordered the Brussel sprouts Hash... like what in the heck is that?? Unheard of and delicious for sure! Oh and we ordered the chilaquiles dish too. Both were absolutely great! The service was quick and the food could not have been better! I usually enjoy Brussel sprouts raw...but this definitely was a treat with such a unique taste. The bleu cheese aioli was definitely subtle and complimented the dish so we'll. read more

Great food and service! Has a small diner feel. I would recommend. Very friendly staff.

Service was good. No wait worth worrying about. I wanted to check this place out for years. I finally went there on a weekday morning. I was underwhelmed. Watery coffee. Greasy eggs. Greasy potatoes. I won't be going back any time soon. I had been curious about what the buzz was about this place. I don't know. read more

First time here. Although this place is: * not intuitively obvious to find * next to a somewhat less-than attractive setting It is: * a great place for breakfast. * has HUGE lattés * very good but large breakfasts (I had the chilaquiles but craved the banana crepes!) * super-nice help! I will come again, but split the breakfasts and have a plain coffee as my (and friend's) tummy did not react well (we think) to the milk in the latté. I definitely want the specials! read more

Rude as neighbors. I didn't eat here, and after my experience as a guest next door in the hotel, never will. Completely blocked sidewalks so we couldn't get to our room. Zero care about being a good neighbor. I don't like businesses that only care about themselves. read more

A cute little hole in the wall with an interesting menu. From looking at the dishes in the diner, most are over-proportioned. Of the three dishes at our table only the cheese blintzes were worth mentioning. The buttermilk blueberry pancakes tasted like a bland box mix served with cheap syrup-definitely NOT maple syrup. The ham was stringy and tough and the scrambled eggs were bland. On top of that it was ALL cold. The person who got the breakfast burrito reported that it was very bland. While the service was good the food wasn't worth returning for. All in all a very disappointing experience. read more

I had the worst Chicken-Fried Steak in my life there!!! The gravy was not sausage based and tasted horrible. Just left this establishment. Started off good with warm greetings and a decent mocha. My husband and I ordered French toast and pancakes. When the food was delivered I requested additional syrup from our waitress since the pancakes were very fluffy. She didn't return to our table until my husband got up to request the check. We had waited so long that the bus boy had already cleared our dishes. She drops off the check and immediately moved to the table behind us and let's them know what the day's specials are, a step she overlooked when servicing our table. My husband pays the bill and even leaves a tip that definitely was not earned. This place is definitely not for 'us' based on our experience today. Very disappointing. read more

I have been me wanting to try Jeffrey's Hillside Cafe forever! And finally today I did. It's tucked away behind a hotel , parking was easy. The place is so cute and clean. What first struck me was the art work on the walls. Several paintings by local artist Jack Stuppin, beautiful landscapes of our beloved Sonoma County. Next our server was so sweet and fun she almost made the trip work it. She was funny and professional at the same time. Now let's get to the food, I had the eggs Benedict my son had the root vegetable hash with a couple of over easy eggs and my daughter had the pancakes with sausage and scrambled eggs. My eggs were cooked perfectly, the potatoes on the side had so much flavor and the texture was spot on soft in the middle and with a good sauté on the outside, my sons dish didn't sound great to me to be honest but I had a bite and it was very light not greasy not to crunchy just right, and my daughters pancakes were fluffy and full of flavor. We will be back!!! read more

Great food, great service, great portions. We'll be back. It may not look like much from the outside, but it'll surprise you.

Came here for breakfast while in the area for a wedding, the location was super conveniently across the street from the hotel we were staying, and on a relatively busy Saturday morning, we only had to wait for about 10 minutes for our group of four to be sat. The menu had a lot of yummy options and we ended up ordering some of the specials and everything was delicious. My favorite was the corned beef hash, which is made fresh in-house. This spot is amazing! Service was on point, and the food was stellar. I had Eggs Benedict and it was quite possibly the best ever. So were the hash browns, as well! I also had a sausage gravy biscuit, and it was incredibly flavorful. My husband had the Chilaquiles and they were also fantastic. The coffee they serve is legit delicious, too.
