This place can seem very busy but it is because they manage lines poorly - REALLY poorly. It's been that way since it was Acre. The workaround is to order mobile and you get your coffee 50-75% quicker than standing in the line. Food is great for a coffee shop. Coffee drinks are generally better than most places but it can be spotty when busy. Drip coffee is their weak spot. I suspect they leave the coffee out too long but who knows. Why 5 stars? Located in Montgomery Village, AC is very popular among locals and visitors alike. The line was extremely long the Friday morning we were there. It's a fairly large space with seating both inside and outside. The team there was very efficient and friendly throughout the hectic morning rush. This place was packed coming in around 10:30am. Every table and bar seat was taken with no cycling out, the peeps are there to stay. Maybe this is the happening place to be in the area on the weekend. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Girl taking our order helped us understand what was in the breakfast sandwich and egg burrito. The breakfast sandwich is a fritta- the bread was a bit too think for my liking. U can add avocado or bacon. I really liked the egg breakfast burrito. Alot of egg and tater tots and not too dry. My matcha is not ceremonial but hot matcha latte with oatmilk was good and comforting. U can add honey urself. There are many great coffee shops in Sonoma County that are locally owned and operated. Avid has several locations, but their Montgomery Village location is my favorite. It's such big, bright space that feels very inviting. The service is really great here and they make wonderful food and drinks. I love the coffee and the pastries here, but my favorite thing are their breakfast sandwiches. Their basic breakfast sandwich has an egg and spinach frittata, a white cheddar, and comes on an English muffins. I am not one who loves English muffins, but their English muffin is an exception. It's soft, and doughy in an almost bagel like texture. I added bacon and their pesto to the sandwich and the combination was perfect. My wife got their spicy breakfast sandwich, which adds a spicy sauce. She also added their onions, which are pickled. So so good. My only criticism would be that they should actually say on their menu that the onions come pickled. If I ordered the onions I might assume they would come differently. Probably my favorite coffee shop in the area. The Montgomery Village location is very popular and wait times can be extended. I usually order online for pickup. Most of the tables are usually full and they don't turn over quickly. They have a set standard offering of coffee drinks with a few featured seasonal options. I love to try their fun new creations. In February they had a chocolate biscotti latte that had a mini biscotti on top. So cute and was delicious. The coffee shop also offers a menu of breakfast & lunch. They have a salted chocolate chip cookie that is amazing that I end up buying almost every time I'm there (no will power). Their coffee's are ethically & sustainably sourced. I like to buy their coffee beans, so I can brew coffee at home. Quality is very high. All and all a great place for coffee and a bit of food. read more

Great neighborhood coffee shop. We like to support local so we went a little out of our way to avoid Starbucks and get coffee here. The place has lots of parking and is very spacious. It's clean and has good lighting. There were a couple customers enjoying their coffee and working inside the store but most people took their order to go. Avid coffee has a following in this area and because of this, a drink order placed at the counter may take a while; on some mornings Ive waited 20+ minutes for a simple Americano. The options are limited in this neighborhood so it's a busy place on a daily basis during the morning and early afternoon hours. That being said, they serve one of the best gluten free muffins I've ever had and the coffee is pretty good. Love Avid Coffee! Was in the neighborhood this afternoon so had to stop by to grab a bag of beans. Love the bright, light, and clean interior - so inviting. As are the staff! The line was short but they were still pretty busy around 1pm on a weekday - looks like lots of folks make this their second or third place, for remote working and/or meetings. This Avid location offers lots of indoor and outdoor seating, and much of it was occupied. Love to see them thriving! I grabbed my Furlong beans from the pretty wall. Avid coffee's was buzzing with people on their laptops and friends catching up. Near their condiment station, well-stocked with cream, sugar, cinnamon, and more, a small crowd of approximately 17 people stood waiting patiently for their order. I find it fascinating to watch expert craftsmanship in real time, and Avid Coffee's barista completely held my attention. In a remarkably short amount of time, he prepared approximately 30 different hot beverages, each filled to the brim and beautifully finished with foam or cream as needed. Despite asking if there were sugar-free syrups and being told "no, but they're locally made" (lol), we were happy with our drinks! This coffee shop in Montgomery Village is very good. We've been here on several visits to Santa Rosa. The lattes are tasty. They have filtered water, which you serve yourself either in a paper cup or a metal cup. The staff were friendly and explained their daily pastries. Not sure about all of the pastries but the daily scone is made at Red Bird bakery, one we like in Santa Rosa, but baked in-house. The scone was exceptional. This coffee shop is in a shopping outdoor mall so plenty of parking. First thing I noticed there was a lot of outdoor seating. As soon as you open the door they have high ceilings and white bright interior. The decor here is top tier very beautiful. They have a lot of fun drinks I got an iced strawberry shortcake latte. The service was fast and there's a lot of seating inside. The coffee is strong here you can tell they use quality beans. The drink was really good highly recommend it's very different. I've been here a few times and always try to visit when I'm in the area. The spicy frittata sandwich is my favorite thing to order, it's delicious. As an FYI, I don't have a high spice tolerance (I wish I did) and I do fine with this sandwich so I wouldn't say it's actually very spicy. What a cute shop in a cute plaza! Parking is plenty, ceilings are high, lots of windows and natural light. Seems like a lot of people come here to do work or meet up for a casual coffee. I wish that the menus were more descriptive; maybe I just wasn't looking in the correct place but both me and others in my party had to ask to know what went into the breakfast sandwiches to know what we were getting. The breakfast sandwiches are hefty but soooo delicious. Regular breakfast sandwich comes with an egg patty and melted cheese on a biscuit, and you can add bacon or avocado (for an unknown price (I didn't bother asking and just got the bacon anyway)). This is the CUTEST coffee shop! I can't stop thinking about the seasonal pumpkin chai that I had. The chai was some of the best I've ever had-- you could taste the kick from the ginger and it was just spiced so perfectly. The lavender matcha was a little sweet for my tastes, but tasted so refreshing with the syrup. The spicy breakfast sandwich was eaten by my friend and they were surprised about how many ingredients were in the egg! The cheese melted to make this crispy exterior on the bun that was yummy, but made the overall sandwich a little hard to bite into. I got the smoked salmon toast -- the smoked salmon was so fresh tasting and I love the excess of pickled onions and capers on top! My partner got the turkey pesto and it was so delicious. Almost panini style with the toast perfect crispy and the cheese melted. There were pretty long lines around noon and were pretty packed in the seating both indoors and outdoors. We wanted to try their breakfast burrito which was a new item, but they sold out already by the time we went in. We'll have to come back earlier next time! read more
