I love this location! I work very close, so I am ordering usually 5 days a week. My coffee is always made correctly and I appreciate the consistency. The Miso latte is absolutely to die for and adding the cold foam is the perfect touch. Also, the employees are so freaking friendly, Ro, Shelly, James, always smiling faces when I come in! Thanks BB! read more

I have been going to Blue Bottle Coffee for over two decades. Mostly the location in Hayes Valley of San Francisco, but also been to locations in the Bay Area and on the East Coast. It has always felt a little pretentious, a bit hipster, and kind of expensive. However, the coffee has always been solid. My issue with their new location in Santa Rosa just doesn't feel right. For one, I feel like it's just too pricy, especially for Santa Rosa. It's hard to justify paying $9 for a 12 oz latte. Also, the space they're using at Montgomery Village has kind of an odd layout. There's a long hallway from one end to the other and they don't have anything in that space. It just feels like a waste of space if you ask me. The service was good here. I had a miso Caramel latte with oat milk. I like this drink because the miso caramel they make is really unique. My nephew ordered a Vanilla Shakerato, which tasted good but didn't really taste like vanilla. Not sure if they forgot to put it in or they put something else in. In any case, I probably won't come back here because I can go to other coffee shops in the area that aren't as expensive. read more

This place is still the OG of craft coffee... and they make a pour over, so they get mad props just for having that on the menu. The branding is modern and sleek, and the appearance of the space is clean/minimalist. I like. The customer service was above average. The indoor and outdoor seating options were great. The menu has depth and range... but the prices don't land for me. I had a vanilla bean shakerato off the special menu and it was outstanding. But nine dollars? You're inspiring all of your customers to home brew a lot more often. And the pastry options aren't inspiring, at least not to me. It's great to have this here in the Village. It's a brand name with great credibility. However, this is reserved as a special treat given that it's an expensive endeavor to patronize this particular shop. When my life meets the criteria, I'll be sure to enjoy every last drop. read more

I have a sweet spot in my heart for Blue Bottle having lived in San Francisco when they first started so I was excited to hear that they were moving to Montgomery Village. That said I was also a little worried because I like avid coffee. Good news - The coffee is still tasty and delicious at Blue Bottle. The staff was friendly. Bad news - The space itself is very industrial and dark. The coffee prices ($7.25 for a sweet latte) were outrageous. I can't say I will never go back if I'm at Mendocino Farms and I need a pick me up but it's not a place I'd go to meet someone for coffee for an experience, which is what you want at that price. read more

I only stop in to buy beans, so I can't speak to the drinks. I always go for whatever their lightest roast is at the time, and I've never had trouble finding one. The staff are nice, and the place is clean and tidy. read more

Super expensive, coffee was not what I expected. Not able to do substitutions. The staff were nice, but the whole feeling was just off. My husbanda matcha with two shots and almond milk was good. read more

First time at a blue bottle coffee. It's an interesting design concept or lack of - gray / industrial no character. With that said the coffee speaks for itself. I'm a no frill coffee drinker, so I had a standard iced coffee, it had a great flavor. No bitterness. I added half & half, what I was missing was Splenda or equal sweetener. I ended up adding that after I left on my own. They have a few food items and packaged coffee to buy. If I'm in the area I would purchase another coffee from them. read more

First of all, I was really excited to see a Blue Bottle in Sonoma County when I drove past Montgomery Village the other day. I love their Sweet Lattés: just the right amount of sweetness and a nutty, rich espresso that I've had every time I've visited a Blue Bottle. James assisted me at the counter today and was also the barista. He said they've been open in this location since January, but I only just realized it. I entered from the parking lot, next to See's Candies, instead of the courtyard. I'll admit since that side of the store has less signage on that side and you have to walk through to the courtyard side (next to Salt & Straw) before you find the service counter. It looked dark from outside and I wasn't sure whether it was open, even though the hours were posted on the door. Mind you, the business model for Blue Bottle isn't a whole bunch of bells and whistles. It's more of the Häagen-Dazs model than Ben & Jerry's (simplicity done well rather than lots of eye catching options). Today's visit proved to be consistent with my expectations. Their savory and sweet menu is similarly pared down, but I love the tea cakes. They change seasonally. This time they were offering an almond and poppy seed version which was probably a touch sweeter than I usually prefer, but it's the perfect portion for my appetite. Enough to take the edge off and get me through my afternoon or morning. Other Blue Bottle locations I've known have really thrived as meeting spots and work spaces. This location has a larger floor plan, which makes it feel cavernous on a warm afternoon, but hopefully it fills up with people on the weekdays. Wishing them luck! read more

So there's 2 entrances, but I enteted from the Salt and Straw side (if you go through See's you may need to walk down the hallway to find the counter). Pros -Workers are friendly and helpful -They use oat milk (huge plus since I'm lactose intolerant) -Food and drinks are fine -Metal spoons instead of wooden stirrers -Dog friendly Con -The door is not wheelchair friendly (how could someone in a wheelchair get in, by shouting?), there needs to be sone mechanism so wheelchair uses can open the door without needing to yell for help -The menu is TINY, I wear glasses and still could not read, I actually had to take a picture and zoom in -I've heard the coffee here was the best, and it's fine. It doesn't really stand out compared to other places, def overhyped -There were no forks for us to use for our food Overall, it's fine if you're in the area, but it's not worth waiting in line that I've seen at some of their locations read more

This spot just opened up in Montgomery village! I was excited to try! The line for this spot is long. I suggest to do online order if you don't want to wait. That's what I ended up doing. I got the iced nola, and it's strong! I did make the mistake of not adding extra sugar, so if you like sweet drinks you should add sugar or order something else. My partner got the iced sweet latte, that was a bit more up my alley. I thought it was pretty good. When I originally picked up the order there was nothing written on either cups of coffee... I had to ask the worker which one was which. Which was a bit odd, as she still didn't write anything on the cups, and just told me which coffee was which. I did notice they were busy, but was a bit confused on why they don't write which coffee is which on the cups, given the order was pickup and the cups look identical. We also got the spiced waffle with ganache added. Unfortunately they forgot to add the ganache. I ended up having to go back and ask for it on the side since I had already took a bite from the waffle. The waffle was probably the hi light, as it wasn't too sweet and was well seasoned. Coffee here is definitely strong and prices are not super high. It's a cool spot to try and there is limited seating inside. However they do also have outside seating. Inside it's very modern, and seems upscale. The food was good, the coffee was decent, service was mid. Would I be back? Probably, hopefully service gets a bit better with time, since this was their opening week! Also fun fact ( if you get the app you get a welcome perk) :) read more

Super cozy little spot--feels intimate without being stuffy. The service was genuinely great, super attentive but not over the top. And that Americano? Hands down one of the best I've had in forever. It actually tasted like the real European ones--took me straight back to sitting outside in Portofino and hitting up all those little cafés over there. Really hit the spot. I tried this place for the first time Friday, and ordered the iced Nola. The coffee itself was good, but the price felt a bit high. The server was friendly. Came midday weekday. Had a yummy hot chocolate with oat milk. So delicious. They did offer one gluten-free cake/bread that looked good, hope to try it next time. My friends enjoyed their coffee and match. Spartan, modern decor, not my thing but it's clean and neat. Service was chill and friendly in a subdued way. A nice addition to the shopping center, although I personally wish it had a big more personality as a business. It's very simple but the quality seems good, if pricey. read more

Overpriced coffee made by unsmiling 'baristas' who can not make any drink without a printout of your order. I do not recommend.

I was interested in this place before it opened. The gossip is that they serve great coffee. I don't know wtf their business model is but the coffee offerings are non standard and skew odd sweet. Not oddly sweet, odd sweet. The black coffee is nothing interesting. To be fair it's a new opening but it's 2 bucks more a cup than a standard coffee shop and the food offerings are minimal, expensive, and not good. Avid Coffee is in the same shopping complex and although Avid is slow as sh*$ I would go to Avid 10 out of 10 times over Blue Bottle. read more

Not off to a good start. I ordered my coffee 15 minutes ago and it's still not ready. They aren't super busy either. I've had Blue Bottle before and remember liking them so I was excited to have one near by. However, $11 for a 16 oz mocha?! When there's another coffee shop across the way?! Yeah, no. Looks like that could be the price if you order via DoorDash for pickup. It's 8.50 in store. I don't know. Not a great first experience read more

Blue bottle coffee shop has a felling of grey concrete that meets hipster minimalist vibe. I'm sure I aged at least 10 years by waiting for a cup of brewed coffee and a mocha. I feel bad for the older woman managing the front counter and drink orders as she seemed a bit irritated and overwhelmed with simple requests like switching out oat milk for fat feee milk. My opinion is they definitely need more staff on hand on a Sunday and a bit more training in customer service, on a side note it took nearly 15 minutes for a brewed cup of coffee. read more

One of the worst coffees and matchas I've had. The service was also disappointing. The matcha tasted extremely watered down, and the coffee was very bitter with a burnt flavor. Overall, not the quality I expected. read more

I understand this place just opened and probably needs more staff. I could see the employees were doing their best under very busy and difficult conditions. I felt bad for them because they seemed overwhelmed and without support from a manager or owner on site. However, there were some serious issues. The milk for coffee was sitting outside for a long time, which seems against health department guidelines. My sandwich was not good--the bacon was not fully cooked, and the sandwiches are pre-made, so changes (like removing chili) are not possible. It made me wonder how fresh the food really is. It took 39 minutes to get my coffee, and people who arrived after me were served first. At one point, an employee took a 10-minute break during a very busy period, which added to the wait. Also, the bathroom was out of service on Sunday. Of course, things can improve with better training and more staff, and I really hope they do. But please, something must be done about the milk being left outside all day--this is a health concern and should be fixed as soon as possible. read more

Coffee is good, service ok, value not good. $6.25 with tip for a 16oz drip coffee. Haven't had lattes or other made drinks.

Ordered mobile at 1015 and was supposed to be done at 1036 got the coffee finally at 1045. 2 couples walked out when I was there frustrated with the wait times and got refunded. Was a normal busy coffee shop but baristas were slow, seemed confused. Coffee was good, definitely not worth the wait though. Got the iced sweet latte would get again. read more

Sample a simple cup of brewed coffee first (before branching out to a fancier coffee drink) to experience the high quality of what Blue Bottle is doing with their roasting and brewing. Also, with coffee this good, I recommend asking for a glass coffee cup (instead of the default paper cup), and and taking the time to enjoy not only the coffee, but the beautiful, minimalist design of the space. read more

Today I went into to see if this place was as good as people had said it is. The coffee was good, but the food was horrible. I ordered an egg sandwich for breakfast. It was frozen heated up in a microwave. It came to me cold in the middle so they did another one. It was tasteless. The egg was rubbery. The bread was dry and it was not worth the money they were charging at all. Please support local places like Aromas in Railroad Square. read more

I was once a barista so I have more sympathy for coffee houses than most, but this place is a train wreck. 3-4 miss made drinks, one barista was working on dialing in the coffee grinder the entire 30 mins I was there... they have two... and it was busy. terrible communication between employees. I cut my losses on my 9 dollar drink and walked out. Don't bother ordering here if there's more than five people in the shop. read more

Since coming to Santa Rosa, I've been on the hunt for the best espresso the area has to offer. Undoubtedly, Blue Bottle provides the best lattes I've ever had. The cost is slightly more, but well worth it. If it's good coffee you're looking for, and you don't care about the ambiance or price, this is the place. The service is friendly and efficient, and wait time is minimal--usually 3 minutes. Restrooms are nice, too. I've made it a routine to put in an order to go at Mendocino Farms and, while I wait, pick up an espresso next door. The 5 star rating is for the quality of the coffee. read more

Service was extremely slow and rude to my friend. They default to oat milk unless you specifically ask for regular milk, which feels misleading. There was no sense of urgency at all. My latte was nothing special--honestly tasted flat. If you ask for a vanilla latte, don't expect a normal one; they'll try to push their overly sweet house version instead. Overall, not impressed. read more
