My go-to place for Thai tea milkshakes! The thing that I love about roasters is that their Thai shakes are actual milkshakes with ice cream rather than other places that make Thai frappes with ice :)

I was grossed out by how dirty it is...including the customers. People are always rude and scary looking.

My partner had the cold brew, an avid Starbucks fan, who couldn't help but admit that it was way better than his usual morning corporate coffee.

Nightingale Breads have been on my to try list for a bit. Not sure when I bookmarked this place,…read morebut it was a convenient stop on the drive home! It's a very small shop with a big counter space for ordering and displaying their pastries and bread. It looks like their work area may be behind the counter so to prevent inside crowding, a limited amount of people go in at a time. On Sundays, they have scones! So I ordered a Strawberry Pistachio scone to try and we picked up two Small Chocolate Thimbles to try. For take-home bread, we bought the Forestville French Baguette, Sesame Epi Baguette, and a Country Bird. We also picked up a tea cake to enjoy at home. I can only review the scone and Thimbles since at the time of this review, this is what I've tried. The Strawberry Pistachio scone was not too sweet, which is great. I like how the pistachio bits add flavor to it, kinda wish they added more pistachio. I'm not sure I personally like the strawberries since they're kinda mushy, but my partner really liked the addition of strawberries because it's like adding cream to a biscuit and this scone was more like a biscuit than a scone (in our opinion). It's buttery, airy, and light, but it's pretty good! I think the Thimbles were better though. I can only describe it as a fudgy brownie with a thin crusty outer layer. What a decadent little treat! I can see why this is a local favorite! Their pastries are delicious. I can't wait to see how the bread tastes like and I'm glad we stopped by to pick up some goodies! Service was really friendly and they even have free stickers up in the front!

Adorable little bakery located in the tiny town of Forestville, CA!…read more We visited Nightingale Breads on a Saturday, which meant we were in luck, as its rotating specials were calling our name. The line was out the door and took a while to get in, but once we made it inside the small space, we were greeted kindly by the staff and treated to great-looking bread and pastries. We picked up a baugette, a seeded loaf, a pluot tea cake, and some chocolate thimbles. The chocolate thimbles are truly amazing, and I would come back to get a thousand of those. They are like the best brownie you've ever had in a little bite-sized delight. The bread was also good- on par with many other small local bakeries I have visited. The pluot cake was very nicely done with great texture and fresh pluot topping. It would have gone great with some vanilla ice cream. I'd imagine Nightingale Breads is the type of place where everything is delicious. I don't think you'll miss here.

Everything looked fresh and delicious. I had walked in ready to order the chocolate cream pie but the kind lady working that day showed us the list of pies with their sweetness levels and the chocolate was one of the sweeter ones. Hubby doesn't like his pies too sweet so we went back to the drawing board and decided to order one of their fruit pies. Triple berry it is! Wow, wonderful pie, incredible crust, not too sweet and filled with lots and lots of fruit. It was the perfect pie for our family. They sell two sizes of pies but you will be sorry if you don't get the bigger one since they are so delicious. Their highly praised apple is also excellent. There are a couple tables inside if you'd like to try a cookie or a slice of the pie of the day. I love the Mom's Apple Pie metal statue by the Florence Avenue artist, Patrick Amiot, near the front door. We love supporting local businesses and this one deserves a shout out. The lady working the counter was the sweetest, most helpful person too. Thank you Mom's for providing our community with such incredible pies.

I know prices have gone up a lot for everything but the $30 pies just aren't worth it. My friend and I calculated a mark up of at least 1500% based on the fact they grow their own apples. The taste is fine but not that special. I think Betty the original owner must have sold the place or died. There's never anyone in there and they don't like taking cash. They used to sell pie by the slice and the place was packed. Now it's $19 if you want a taste. They used to serve sandwiches too-all that went away. One exception: the strawberry pie is divine, but only available in Early June. I think the place is now a tourist trap, catching the unwary who don't know better. I hope they rethink their business model, drop their price about $12 per pie and work on improving customer service. Bored high school kids are the norm and they can do better. I recommend picking up a frozen pie at Ace hardware in town and cooking it at home.
