Absolutely one of my favorite places in Sonoma County, as a long time resident here. The food is good, the coffee is great, and the vibes are immaculate. They have a range of different vendors in the front as well, so there is often something new and interesting to check out when I stop by. Weird vibes here. My coffee is phenomenal. But I was ignored for a good 3-4 minutes when I was the only one in the store. I wondered if I was in the right spot. Was driving back home to Marin and decided to stop by this cool coffee shop and I'm so glad I did! They had a good selection of menu options but whenever trying a new coffee shop I always go for my staple of Iced Vanilla Latte. Went through the drive thru and had to step out to explore this hidden gem. There's plenty of seating inside and out. Stopped in one morning recently for a coffee and a reheated breakfast burrito and sat out on a sunny bench. Walk up counter service, and expect a to wait on line. The line moves pretty quick but, you cannot be in a hurry here. My friend and I grabbed our place in line and as we worked our way towards the register there are so many cool, electic and odd things to pass the time moving forward. Some places to sit inside, but outside is where its at. All kinds of cool places to sit, shaded and unshaded. We got to the register, placed our order and got our hot morning beverages and waited for our burritos. About ten minutes later, our order was called and two reheated prewrapped burritos appeared. The coffee was good, the breakfast burrito was only so-so and thats being kind, the environment was pretty chill. This place is obviously very popular with the locals. Goodness gracious. The iced lavender matcha is so yummy! Creamy, silky, smooth and hits all the perfect flavor notes without the overbearing richness of the matcha. I just stopped in for a quick bite the other day and the food was amazing! They have a large assortment of pastries and entrees to choose from. I ordered the bacon Asiago bagel and it was one of the softest fluffiest bagels I've ever had! You get one free creamer cheese spread as well so I would definitely recommend any of their bagels! I got an iced coffee as well which tasted wonderful. They offer a drive through window or some beautiful inside seating! read more

We were visiting friends up in the Santa Rosa area. We stayed in Sebastopol. Our friend recommend Hardcore coffee get my daily espresso shot. This is a quirky hippy place. Look for the big empty chair on the corner. Big menu. Multiple locations to sit, take shade. Stuff for kids. Relax for a few. It even has a drive thru. The main walk in entrance is on the opposite side...don't block the drive thru. Met the owner as they were going to celebrate their 25 year anniversary. Great stop. read more

The coffee is the best in town, even better than Taylor Lane. The smoothies are also terrific. Great ambiance too, a real Sebastopol vibe! So why aren't I giving it five stars? They need to do more for the environment. They freely distribute large, single use plastic straws. These cannot be recycled, and there's an easy alternative in paper straws. Also, they are using single-use, non-recyclable plastic cups for smoothies and iced-drinks. Again, they could use paper, not plastic. A small sacrifice to make. When I made these suggestions to the staff, one said, "I only work here." Another said, "We do what we can." But in truth, they could do more. read more

My review is solely based on one unpleasant experience I had. My drink order was ready and another person picked it up and drank from it. That person quickly said it wasn't theres. The cashier looked at me and said that it was in fact my drink and if I still wanted it. Like what! Who asks that? This place is so funky and fun. Both a drive-through and walk-up, they've got a fairly standard menu of coffee and pastries. The coffee's quite good - not sure which roaster they use. We think they might've given us regular instead of decaf on one drink, though, so watch out for that. What makes this place unique is the eclectic seating and decor, as well as the community feel. There are interior booths and couches in front of fun murals, and exterior seating composed of bathtubs and swings and clay benches and more. The decor is reused and re-purposed items like bathtubs and license plates and phone booths and cars and more. Succulents are everywhere. A giant tree holds string lighting. It's a great place to sit outside on a sunny morning or warm evening. While we were there, it was obvious that this is a community gathering place. Folks hung out in the gravel parking lot, were friendly and on a first-name basis with the baristas, and the line out the drive-through was very long. It looks like they host concerts and other events. Definitely a spot I would return to in order to hang out and enjoy some good coffee! read more

Cool vibe and $8.00 coffees... They don't have low fat milk. Only non-fat or whole milk. One aspect of this place which is not appreciated is that every single employee asks, "Would you like to leave a tip on your card?" If I were paying cash, would you ask, "Would you like all of your change or did you want to leave some for me?" I'll tip when I want and when I'm able, please do not ask for a tip. Everything is wonderful at Hardcore Espresso. Molly, her family (sons n granddaughter), and extended family of baristas and friends make this a sweet experience in an excellent setting. Having a drink outside with my girlfriend while a couple plays guitar and violin and birds chirping is tranquility at its finest. Excellent drinks, though the wait is really long even if there's nobody ahead of you and you're just getting black coffee, but the outdoor space is so beautifully done with something new to see every direction you look, it's well worth it. read more

An eclectic and wonderful spot for coffee and hanging out. The outside area alone made me want to come back even though we're not from the area. The artwork and the different pockets of places to work or chill was just so inviting. It's like you're at a really cool but comfortable art gallery that you can touch and sit on. We got an iced coffee and an iced matcha as well as a breakfast burrito. Even though the burrito was pre packaged it was still delicious! Both a very convenient & fast drive through as well as outdoor delightful little nooks with reasonable privacy & quiet places to visit with friends or just enjoy some alone time. I love the coffee but something isn't right. I had my credit card number stolen a while back and it was a nightmare. I now use Apple Pay exclusively as it protects my cc number. The only time I've used my physical card in nearly a year was when I went thru the drive up at Hardcore. The guy took my card from me outside (as I was in my car) and brought it inside to charge. That very day my card was used illegally in Georgia. I'm not buying that it was a coincidence. read more

Maybe you've heard of the Salton Sea - a seemingly abandoned place save for the artist communes dappling the seascape. Creative people making the space unapologetically their own. I'm drawn to these unauthorized places. Enter...Hardcore. Hardcore feels so deliciously escapist that it's hard to believe it exists. With a village of chairs, canopies, couches and tables, you can kickback and lounge for hours and hours and hours. The coffee is smooth, and delicious. Not burnt, not sour, just right! They offer a limited food selection outside of pastries and muffins. Service has been mixed - both warm and distant. But honestly, who cares? Small 8x10 single room stores offering hair braiding, leather bags, artwork, stones, and clothing encircle the property. If you're thinking " this doesn't sound like my scene..." go for the coffee because it's damn good. read more

The place is super electric and rad inside but if ur in a pinch they have drive they also. Lots of milk alternatives!!
