Banana matcha, cinnamon roll, blueberry GF pastry
    Yasmine G.

Service was a 10/10 owner was sooooo nice and welcoming she went out of her way to get me a charger from her car. There is a bit of a wait time because there is only one barrista working other than the owner taking orders. So if you're in a hurry I wouldn't recommend coming here. My friend and I got the iced banana matcha, the banana was very subtle. It was a beautifully made drink. My friend got the cinnamon roll which was amazing, the dough itself was so soft and had a sweetness to it. I got a blueberry GF pastry it good but I wouldn't get it again just bc it was on the crunchier side. Overall loved this place and would definitely come again.

Avocado Toast with Greens fermented amazing toast, avocado, harissa, arugula and micro greens topped with EVOO. Simply amazing!

Omg we almost didn't try it and so glad we did. Amazing lattes (my friend got a lavender one and I got a regular one). avocado toast with greens was the best I have ever had. Amazing bread amazing toppings! We tried two gluten free pastries - a scone and a fruit pastry - and both were amazing. Scone was not too sweet and very earthy nutty and delicious. Highly recommend even if you aren't Vegan (Neither of us are vegan). Service was lovely - a bit slower to get coffees but so worth the wait - time to relax!

Very cute vegan/plant-based cafe right in the middle of Railroad Square. They specialize in avocado toasts, baked goods, and drinks. Loved my colorful toast and the focaccia is seriously delicious! Don't sleep on the muffins - I tried the cranberry one and it was fantastic! If you're in a hurry or need immediate attention, don't expect that here. The employees won't necessarily greet you when you come in, just flag them down when you're ready to order. Also, don't try to park for a minute and run in without paying for parking. The meter maids are quick here. I stayed 4 minutes past my expired time and returned to my car just as they were about to write me a ticket. They let me go with a warning, phew! All because I wanted to enjoy a few more bites of my muffin - oops!

First time here this past Monday and I'll definitely be back! I got a delicious avocado toast with greens and a hot chocolate, with the chocolate made fresh in house . Good location near historic shopping district and train line. The young man that took our order and brought us the food was very nice and sweet with wonderful personality. Great customer service! I highly recommend The Branch Line.

A pair of perfect almond milk lattes, lemon poppyseed scone & apricot vanilla muffin (all vegan!)

Our 2nd visit to Santa Rosa in the last 2 months, and my husband and I were excited to try The Branch Line (especially since they were closed when we tried to pop in the first go around)! Located right across from the train tracks in Santa Rosa's historic Railroad Square, this charming plant-based cafe and mercantile brightened up our morning! Our almond milk lattes were made to perfection by the owner's son Justin, and they shared that they top off their delicious espresso drinks with just a touch of coconut cream (optional of course, but highly recommended). Paired with a Vegan Apricot Vanilla Muffin & a Vegan Lemon Poppyseed Scone, we were all smiles as we sat outside enjoying a sunny morning, and watched the SMART Rail Transit pick up some morning commuters and zip by. The owner, Kim, was very gracious and welcoming. She even apologized about being understaffed that morning and their cafe not being fully set up yet with tables and chairs out front. We were totally content to wait and browse all their great merchandise on sale, even picking up a couple of cartons of Tache pistachio milk to take with us. Kim also owns another great plant-based cafe a few miles away called The Pharmacy (which we had gone to 2 days in-a-row before going to The Branch Line!). They serve rich, organic coffee by Nomadic Coffee from Oakland, CA and offer other yummy plant-based goods. Definitely a wonderful local gem, and a must-try even if you're not vegan or vegetarian! We'll be back for sure!

    Blueberry scone & cappuccino

I got a coffee from this adorable little gem of a vegan coffee shop about a year ago & remember thinking it was super delish. Passing thru town again today & the cappuccino was even more divine than I remember. Also got a blueberry scone that is other worldly...it was still warm!! In a past lifetime I was a pastry chef & judge bakers by the quality of their scones b/c they can be so amazing, but also so nasty (right?!?). This one gets an A+!! Also, the barista was so sweet & welcoming. Highly recommend!

Needed a quick coffee and snack and have been wanting to check this place out. Very cute and clean inside. I believe I got a black sesame latte and it was really good. Great avocado toast, stacked with avocado and greens on delicious bread. Nice friendly service.

This is my favorite place to take a moment and enjoy my morning. Everything is crafted with care and they take their time to do everything the right way. I usually get the avo toast and a chai latte which hits the right notes every time.

    Focaccia

I tried this place off a recommendation and am so glad I did! It's nestled in a corner of Downtown. Not only is the interior of the building cozy, but the focaccia was great (ALL vegan too). It's on the pricier side, but was absolutely worth it to me because the slice of focaccia is large and hearty. As well, the matcha is a good size, one of the best matches I've ever tasted and their syrups are all organic. The service there was friendly, helpful and welcoming. I am adding this place to the regular rotation of places I frequent!

$4.45 for an almost 8 ounce coffee.

Ok...I get it, Railroad Square blah blah blah. This place has a good vibe BUT, it needs focus. We ordered 2 decaf Americanos and it took about 15 minutes to get it. No one was ahead of us. No line, nothing. It seemed unbelievably long for 2 cups of coffee. About 8 ounces each...I say about because the barista said it might be a little short...and it was. What is this place? Coffee, scones, toast, pepper sauce (sold on site)? With A'roma about 50' away, this place needs to figure it out. Nice people, but it needs focus. I still don't know what they are doing. The coffee was good but it took so long to simply pull a couple of shots. Eesh. Good luck. Not sure I will come back. You have options. $9.00 for two almost 8 ounce coffees!? Not sure that is right.

Coffee with nuanced flavors and locally sourced savory goods. Close to a train station on the first floor of an old brick building is The Branch line coffee shop. Wonderful selection of muffins and tasty bagels. Their coffees are exceptional and worth a trip from the Bay area. Don't forget to ask Justin about the secret coffee menu and the black sesame latte.

It's best to go there early so they don't sell out your favorite pastry. My favorite is their chocolate cake which they don't always serve.

My boyfriend and I ordered wine, the artichoke dip, mussels, tagliatelle, 1/2 chicken, and bread pudding. There was a good variety of wine to choose from and the waitress was nice enough to give me a couple samples before ordering a full glass. We were surprised by the lemon / tangy flavor in the artichoke dip but really enjoyed it! We LOVED the mussels--this was a generous serving, and this was a great combination with the broth and sausage. The tagliatelle was clearly homemade and fresh, and the sauce was flavorful but light; the only thing I would change is the amount of peas / pea flavor. The chicken skin was perfectly crispy! Lastly, the bread pudding was literally baked fresh to the point where we almost couldn't order it. The staff told us it would be a bit of a wait, but when it took a little longer than expected, they continued to check in on us and whether we still wanted to wait. It was definitely worth it! It wasn't as sweet / cinnamon-y as other bread puddings that I've had, but was moist without being soggy and felt like a true homemade recipe. The ambiance was casual yet intimate, and despite being busy, didn't feel crowded or loud. We also appreciated that the wait staff didn't rush us out!

The waitress was so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the menu and cleared up any questions we had. The food is so delicious. We ordered Parmesan cheese and ancho French fries, queso fundido, and chicken bacon pesto pizza. The fries were so crisp and quite seasoned. Will say they are a go to option whenever I come back. It's nice to find places that serve crispy fries like that. Crispy on the outside, nice and soft inside. It was quite a treat. Queso fundido was a great option because we had a hankering for nachos and this definitely filled the cravings. If you're someone that maybe doesn't do onions, just make sure to ask for no onions. Luckily I'm able to do onions, but you never know if someone has a preference. The cheese and chorizo combo was amazing, and the best part it wasn't greasy or fatty from the cheese. It just looked so clean. The star of the show had to be the chicken bacon pesto pizza. I love a good pizza but my favorite are the out of the ordinary toppings and sauces. They had other amazing options but it's not everyday I can try a chicken bacon pesto pizza. This was a homerun and a half. I definitely recommend this pizza to anyone who wants to try an out of the ordinary combo. The pizza was cooked to perfection and it was fluffy. The cheese was all over the place because, I had an amazing cheese pull! If you're one for cheese pulls, this one's got your number. All in all an amazing experience. I'll come back here again

While working in St. Helena, I could never find an opening in a reservation, so here was a great opportunity now that all of us are retired. Our friends live in Clear Lake while we live in Vallejo, so this is a central place to meet. It was the best decision I made because every year for the past several anniversaries, we've gone to Cache Creek to C2. Their food and service is excellent because my husband enjoys poker, but I thought a change of scenery would be nice. And it was! Firstly, it was very kind of the staff to present us with a greeting card signed by everyone -- how sweet and thoughtful! We will cherish that! Secondly, we were very impressed with how the food/wine was locally sourced. It was incredible to hear the story about Custom, the Bull, and taste the difference between the Highland beef compared to Angus. Our waitress was "Erica S." From the beginning, there seemed to be constant miscommunication between staff. We specifically booked an outdoor reservation and were seated inside instead. While mistakes happen, it set the tone for the rest of the evening. The bigger issue involved the wine and corkage fee. We purchased a bottle directly from the market associated with the restaurant and were told by the employee there that the corkage fee would be waived if we bought their wine. When we sat down, our server Sara told us that was not true and that we would still have to pay the fee. I explained what we had been told, and when she asked if I wanted a manager involved, I said yes. Before the manager even arrived or clarified the situation, the server opened our bottle of wine. In the silence and confusion, I reasonably assumed the fee issue had been resolved. Then the manager came over and told us we would still be charged and implied that nobody at the market would have told us otherwise. The way it was handled made my husband and I feel like we were being accused of making the whole thing up, which was especially upsetting on Mother's Day. At that point, the bottle was already opened, so we were essentially stuck paying the fee regardless. Between being seated incorrectly, the poor communication between employees, and how dismissive the situation felt, the service completely overshadowed what should have been a special meal. The rest of the service we felt ignored and there was minimal effort to accommodate. Great food alone is not enough to justify returning when the hospitality experience feels this frustrating and unprofessional.
